Dear team,
I booked below tickets today online using tatkal option. I was not aware of the refund rule of tatkal –confirm booking. I planned to book tickets for below family members.
1) ganesh sutar - self
2) anushree ganesh sutar - child
3) aarti ganesh sutar-spouse
Travel from mgr chennai central to hubbali
Date of travel : 2nd nov 2019
Pnr numbers.
1) [protected] — booked
2) [protected] — cancelled
Due to spouse leg issue i thougth i will get two lower seat in same compartment and one middle but i got two middle and one upper but it was not feasible for spouse due to leg issue she is unable to onboard on middle /upper seat. So i thought without refund knowledge to book another ticket and hopefully will get two lower and one middle but system again given me two middle and one upper anyways i have to cancel one out of these two duplicate tickets with same member same destination. Boarding from mgr chennai central to hubbali. But when i received email saying that i will not receive refund of another cancelled ticket then i shocked what system is build by irctc, i found system flaw here without provision of cancellation of duplicate ticket., system should not allow below either
1) if members are same they can’t seat at a time on two different seats
2) journey destination is same
And if i’m aware about tatkal - confirmed refund rules i would have never booked another ticket or if the system had been designed according to above two points mentioned it should discard me for booking same journey ticket for same people. Please note this point.
I would like to request to think about the flaws in the above (Two rules) in your system to save other people from financial loss due to this faulty system. And if possible please refund my whole payment for the set of duplicate tickets kindly, consider this valuable suggestion. I would like to cc to consumer complaint forum too here. If they can help me to get refund of my cancelled tickets i will definitely write to them.

We wish to inform you that your ticket against pnr number: [protected] has been cancelled successfully as per your request. Please note, no amount shall be refunded against this cancellation.
Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
Through chat and email communicated the issue but looks the support staff are very incompetent, knows nothing except some robotic responses.
(1) They blocked my account and I am unable to login and they wants the statement, how can I get it (they do not sent it by post or email) ?
(2) They want card details for the transaction, which one ? I sent the card of iMudra they says "this is not iMudra Card" . Is it not rubbish that they are unable to recognise iMudra Card which they sent to me and I am using in marchant outlets as well?
Now I want my money back and close my account with such unprofessional service.
