Indian Railways should provide ticketing on the basis of name of place rather than stations. I wanted to book a ticket from Mumbai to Kolhapur(You try it once). It said no station exist. I had to research a lot to find that Kolhapur has been renamed to C. Shahu Maharaj Terminus. This is outrageous and illogical. How the tourist and first timer are supposed to know the exact station name. Railways is simply making things difficult for passengers..

    in garib rath express a concept of side middle birth is first introduced thou it was a flop it other trains in garib rath it is still there, it is obserevd
    1) That due to that side middle birth the space allotted to side upper and side lower is too small since a man with aprox. 5.11 feet and above cant able to sleep & sit on them.
    2) A mother cant able to feed milk to her newly born child while sitting on side births it is not only side birth she cant able to feed her baby on normal lower, middle & upper birth bcz head space allotted to these births are not enough to sit properly during night.
    3) Normal upper birth of gairb rath has a very small head space which makes very uncomfortable to sit there.
    i woul request railway authorities to look after the matter & try to modify it to make it comfortable for passengers.

      IF WESTERN RAILWAY AUTHORITIES ARE SERIOUS ABOUT IMPROVING THE TRAIN SERVICES,
      THE FIRST THING THEY SHOULD DO IS TO CHANGE THE CENTURY OLD TIME TABLE. THERE HAS
      BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE IN THIS TIME TABLE SINCE LAST 25 YEARS I AM TRAVELLING,
      BUT FOR A MINOR CHANGE HERE OR THERE. I[censored] COMPARE THE TIME TAKEN BY CENTRAL
      RAILWAY FAST TRAINS TO COVER THE DISTANCE, SAY, FROM THANE TO CST IT TAKES 45 MINUTES, WHILE FOR THE SAME DISTANCE, I.E. FROM BORIVILI TO CHURCHGATE IT TAKES
      ANYTHING BETWEEN 1 HOUR TO 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES. ALSO, FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF VIRAR
      PEOPLE, RAILWAY AUTHORITIES HAVE STARTED SLOW VIRAR LOCALS. BUT THESE TRAINS ARE
      ALWAYS LATE BY MINIMUM 10 TO 15 MINUTES, THEREBY DISTURBING THE ENTIRE TIMETABLE OF TRAINS. I[censored] OBSERVE IN THE MORNING RUSH HOUR, THERE IS A TRAIN EVERY 4 MINUTES TO GO TO VIRAR SIDE, WHILE FOR CHURCHGATE SIDE (WHERE IT SHOULD BE MORE), THERE IS A TRAIN EVERY 6 TO 8 MINUTES. WHAT IS THE LOGIC BEHIND THIS, ONLY THEY KNOW.

      Western Railways — Train Delays every day

      I have been commuting for last several years from Dahisar to Churchgate. I board at Dahisar Station. Its been last 3 weeks that the trains are running atleast by 20-25 minutes. The crowd just increases automatically the moment trains are delayed. What is the point in increasing the number of trains if they can not run them on time???????????? Every morning we have to struggle just to get in to the train, then beg to people please MOVE IN, because we are scared of falling off from the running train. Will the Virar to Churchgate locals run on time ever?????????? 1 September chaos at Nalasopara was one the reason of trains getting delayed and no announcements made with any reasoning for it. We appreciate the efforts put in by Railways to help the daily commuters, but for how long the commuters will be tolerant to delays EVERY DAY?

      Western Railways — Delays in timings

      This is regarding the Western Railways service provided by Indian Railways, each & everyday you'll are getting worst, everyday the train arrives late & if it arrives on time then it'll never reach on time. I am a regular traveller from Bhayandar to Dadar, a journey that should take maximum 45 mins, takes the same time to reach Andheri plus 15 mins to reach to reach Dadar, example 8:29, 8:33, 8:45, 8:49, 8:53, 8:57 all the trains reach late than their time of reaching. The passengers are in a mess & in a hurry but your workers are quite chilled out. This is on weekdays, on weekends you'll get a License to harass passengers with your "Mega-Block" & spoil their day although the so-called "Mega-Block" is useless & it can be seen the very next day, same late trains & delayed schedule of people.
      You should be sued for providing such pathetic service & ample "Compensation" should be demanded as you'll test people'patience. In the days of increasing use of technology & globalism, people suffer because of your pathetic service & ill-treatment of your workers.
      Wake-up bloody Losers & give back the service you are paid for.
      I agree that the western railway authorities need to seriously look into the delay of the trains running between churchgate to virar. I travel from Goregaon to Bandra daily. The fast trains which are caught after 8:00 in the morning are pathetically slow..infact worst than the slow trains. If this was one in a exception, then it can be ignored. But I have noticed this is perpetually the same situation day after day. If the fast train actually goes fast as it is meant to be, it takes 15 minutes to reach bandra from goregaon. But due to this go slow everyday, it takes 30-45 minutes to reach bandra. I don't understand how the railways is taking the commuters for granted. Everyone is in a hurry to reach office on time, but this dail nuisance of go slow doesnt allow one to reach on time always. And I do agree central railway trains work much better than western railway.

      Its time the railways improve thier services. Whatever issues or problems faced due to which the trains are delayed needs to be looked into by the railway authorities on priority and resolved at the earliest.

      VIRAR Station Toilets are not cleared regularly. They are in unhygienic condition. Can somebody look into it.

        Writing in to tell you how appalled I am with the poor standards you had in the AC 3 tier Govindam package - 1 day/2 nights from Hyderabad to Tirupathi orignating on 28th December 2010.

        Specific feedback as below

        1) Rats on the train in AC 3 tier - 2 bags got chewed up
        2) Delay of an hour to start from hotel when the whole group was ready at 8.15, we left only at 9.15 due to taxi unavailability
        3) Delay of 2 hours - 4 people from 40 in the tour wanted a Mundan, and the other 36 were kept waiting outdoors till they got back
        4) Delay of 4 additional hours for Balaji Darshan - 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm
        5) No lunch provided - I was travelling with 2 old people and a 3 year old child - who went without food, without water for 6 hours flat
        6) Nearly missed the train back to Hyderabad on the 29th - delay in finding taxi to return
        7) No Padmavathi darshan as promised in the package
        8) Tour operator / Taxi driver - neither could speak anything but Telugu, couldnt understand what we were saying - neither Hindi nor English

        None of the contractual obligations were fulfilled.

          Hi,

          The scheduled running time of MMTS trains from Lingampally to Fatehnagar is 22 minutes (as printed in the SCR's MMTS time-tables).
          However, no MMTS train ever keeps its time and it invariably takes at least 30 minutes to cover the distance of 16km. In the evening peak-hours, the situation is most horrible when it takes more than 40 minutes to travel from Lingampally to Fatehnagar, with the trains either stopping or going very slow between Hi-Tech City and Bharathnagar railway stations.

          If this is going to be an every-day affair, why cannot the SCR simply change the schedule of MMTS trains instead of always being late?
          Surely, this non-punctuality can never make the city of Hyderabad a good city to live in.

          From my part, I have done my duty by lodging this complaint...

          I hope the authorities concerned take a serious look into this matter, though, with the way things are in this country today, I seriously doubt if anything will be done to better the situation.

            today i asked the station superintend Mr. A.B.MORE at chinchwad about the complaint register in station at 8.35 pm 1.1.2011.but this fellow refused to give register after telephonic discussion with Mr.GAUTAM Station Manager Chinchwad because i hold first class pass from pune to cstm(MUMBAI) and i have no pass with boarding at chinchwad.hence i have to give complaint either pune or cstm and not in inbetween stations.also he gave me free advice to tackle the problems personally as there is shortage of TCs and check the tickets and passes myself as it is passengers responsibility.please anybody can explain that whether really complaints cant be registered inbetween stations?or it was pure arrogancy to avoid the registration of complaint?why these guyes cant forward the complaints to pune head office? or they want that passenger living in chinchwad has to visit pune or cstm only to register complaint?

              I booked a rail ticket from Haldwani to Delhi(sampark kranti) for 27/11/2010 through IRCTC ,online booked on 15/09/2010, but the train got delayed by 3 hrs, hence I did not travel by the train, I made a complaint & filed TDR ,on IRCTC 0n 2nd December 2010, they forwarded the complaint to the railway department (North Zone), but till date Idid not get any refund .

                I want to register a complaint (Attempt to murder complaint) against the Station Master-Jawai Bandh Dist. Pali,Rajasthan. The complaint is as follows:

                On Fri 24-Dec-2010 station Jawai Bandh @ 3:00PM, we (11 person-4 Gents, 5 Ladies and 2 Kids) were waiting for the train 19708-Aravali Express (Jaipur to Bandra Ternminus) on platform no. 1. Our tickets were booked in coach S-11/S-12 (3rd and 4th Coach from End of the train).

                One minute before Station Master announces that train 171WR Ahmedabad Jodhpur Passenger would arrive at Platform 1 and 19708 Aravali Express would arrive at Platform 2 which was hardly audible at the location where we were standing.

                We alongwith 5 ladies,2 kids and 24 luggage had to rush and cross 3 tracks. We were pushed to death by station master, since on track 1 171WR was coming and on track 3 19708 train was coming.

                We pulled luggage from platform 1 to track 2, while the train 171WR arriving head on us. And had to put all the luggage into the coach whichever we could from the otherside of the train 19708.

                The kids and ladies has been terrified by the event which happened @ Jawai Bandh station and scared to take a train going further.

                Kindly take this matter as very serious and take strict action against the station master. AN INDIVIDUAL LIFE IS IMPORTANT AND IT CANNOT BE TAKEN AT RISK BY ANY OTHER PERSON. IT CANNOT BE COMPENSATED BY MONEY.

                  Hello sir,

                  I did travel in JAT JAMNAGR EXP. (Train # 12478) from new delhi to Vadodara in 3AC Class on 26-Dec-2010, My PNR Number was [protected].

                  During my journey I had faced the following problems

                  1. Used bed sheet and blankets was given to us by some person, who was claiming himself as Cotch Attendant. He was not in his dress.

                  2. Pillow and towals were not given to us even after demanding for that. So called Cotch Attendant deny to give us pillow and towals saying that
                  "It was there, If It is not there, I am not responsible. Pasenger before you must have put it some were. Search for that your self.

                  3. The quilty and quantity of food is very poor they have give us three small chappti and one aaloo sabzi but charged the full meal cost 35/- Rs.
                  Water, Pickels, Curd and One Dal ,One Sabzi and rise was missing from food. Even Food was served very late. When I contacted Pantry Car Incharge
                  "MR. Tripathi" on this issue he says that he do not have food stock hence he can not give us full food. He also says that he do not care about the
                  Complaints. In his Words "Khaana he to Khaoo Warna Jaao, jo karna ha karlo. Mera koi kuch nahi kar sakta. Bahoot dekhe he tumhare jese pasenger"
                  In short Pantry Car Incharge and service boys was so rude and non-sense.

                  In the evening, the diner was served at 10:10 pm by B.K. Tripathi. When we asked why so late; he replied sarcastically ''Khana de to raha hoo, nahi dunga to kay kar loge?'' which was not as expected from IRCTC employees. MR. Tripathi has given the full and good food to his friends sitting in next compartment to me.

                  4. cleanness of coaches were in pathetic situation. From New Delhi to Jhansi no clening was done. On my complaints at Jhansi Train Supervisor has arrange some cleaning at Jhansi.

                  5. Even on demand, the Pantry service boy Mr. B.K. Tripathi did not supply the cash memo or bill for the meals and breakfast.


                  5. In whole journy AC was not working. AC Technical Incharge in train says that tere is some problem in AC hence it will not work. Where as I myself
                  seen that in 2AC class AC was in working condition.

                  6. No Coch attendent was in the Coach


                  I have also logged a complaints on official Complaint book. My Complaint # 30 dated 27/12/2010.

                  Mr. H.K. Singh PNR # [protected] was witness that all of my above compaints is true.

                  I request to consumer forum to do needful action against relevant authority.

                  Indian Railways — quality of bedsheets in AC and rude behaviour of ac attendant

                  2664 tpj-hwh superfast express and 2663 hwh-tpj superfast express

                  3 ac - no towels are given . bedsheets crumpled and smell . if asked the attendant replies that they appear crumpled but it is fresh. towels are short in supply so cant issue one.
                  2 ac - no towels given . on insisting towels given. Bedsheets are crumpled and smell and not given in time. To locate an attendant is an herculian task and if located very rude reply comes from him.
                  We travel in the above said train once in every fifteen days and face the above situation .
                  I request the Railway authorities to take necessary action to TRAIN THESE ATTENDANTS in hospitality and then put them on board thus helping the passengers save the unpleasnt exchanges with the attendants .

                    I had booked the Ticket from Ahmedabad to Ballharshah with DOJ 19.4.2010, during the journey I was not carrying Original ID proff. The Ticket checker considered me without ticket and had charged me Rs. 2500 (Appx). While as per the Tatkal rule on http://www.indianrail.gov.in/tatkal_Scheme.html point #7 mentions that no identity proof is required while booking or during journey.

                        It was 26th Dec 2010. I had booked my ticket from online reservation from Garhbeta to Howrah in Rupshi Bangla Express-DN(12284). The train was about 45 min late at Garhbeta Station (now a days which is usual). And the strange thing was that "All the doors was locked from inside including Reserved Compartment(DP-1,2,3) and one AC compartment.Only 2 doors was unlocked i.e driver and guard's door". Then I went to drivers and had talk with them. They introduced me to some RPF. In short I described them what the problem was. They replied that it had been done by 'public' so they can't do anything. Yes I understand the situation they can't do anything but I travel in this train once in a fortnight. So I know how much people depend on that train.
                        Another reason for the train to be over-crowded was in the very next day there was a political meeting(27th Dec) in some place of Kolkata. Is it acceptable that "a person carrying a reservation ticket and he can't enter the train compartment because some political supporters are traveling with out tickets and with a banner of that party on their chest."? Don't u think that it's a disgusting!

                          My complaint is about the FISHY behavior of a TTC yesterday at Bandra station(west) --gate near the ticket window terminal,I was about to exit the gate at exact 5.35 pm when he stopped me for a check,I provided him the punched coupons of denominations Rs.8(4+4),after having a look at the he asked me in Hindi"why so late?" I was confused so he repeated the same again"What took u so long" to which I replied its not late,I commenced my journey on 4.53 pm & reached Bandra at 5.35 pm which is rather early by the usual time of 45 mins & more,to which he still made me wait without giving me any reasons,while eying me very obscenely up & down,as soon as I decided to call my father & started dialing the no,he was like "ok go",I even in jammed packed crowded station like Bandra,FIRST TIME DID NOT FEEL SAFE & that too because of a RAILWAY OFFICIAL,I wish I could provide his name but he was civil dressed thus had no name plate on his clothes,he was a middle aged man,short bespectacled,brown skintone with mustache.
                          Mumbai is known to be a safe city for girls even at odd hours,but yesterday my hometown wasn't safe for me even in broad daylight.
                          I have complained about this behavior to my parents & My father intends to bring it to light in all senses.
                          I wish the necessary action is taken against such men who mar the repute of a nation,city & an organisation like the Railways
                          I am deeply let down.

                              The Subway at Tambaram Sanatorium Railway Station is very very poor provided there is no alternate root for pedestrian to catch the GST Road from Chitlapakkam to Sanatorium. The railway employees are catching people like theif for not having even platform ticket and charging them for 300 to 500 but they dont know how to keep the railway station and subways. Once people go through the subway definitely they get any sick or ill. Then what they are doing with the amount collected from people for those who entered railway station without platform ticket. Atleast use the amount collected from people to useful for them by making the subway clean.

                              Note: Every week days nearly 40,000 to 50,000 people crossing the subway and all are educated and employees (not like railway employees doing harassment and fine for people for unwanted things)

                                  I had book an e-ticket from IRCTC from Basti to LTT. Due to one of the family member'smedical emergencies, I had to come to Lucknow one day prior the travel. Hence, need arose to change the boarding station from Basti to Lucknow. I visited CRS(Chief Reservation Supervisor), Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
                                  He denied the request stating that as the ticket has been booked via IRCTC, he will not entertain this request. He also said that "ask IRCTC to provide this facility online".
                                  I thought of making a complaint to Station master regarding the same. But, again Station Master was also unavailable(Please note the time was 12:15 PM).
                                  Now, I am clueless what to do? Please help.

                                    I am Santosh Kr., I made two e-ticket dt.[protected] &[protected] against PNR No.[protected] & [protected], Trans. ID [protected] & [protected]. But First e-ticket not travel for my personal reason & Second e-ticket not travel for train late above three hours reasons. Two e-ticket TDR filed on[protected] &[protected] Rs.1280.00.
                                    So no any refund received by my after 5 (five) Months. and I send the e-mail approx 10 times but no any reply. please their reason to confirm me and refund amount credit our bank earliest as per possible.
                                    I requested to you please refund our amount earliest & oblige.

                                      While traveling in 3A compartment of train no 2168, there was no proper facilities provided to us. The PNR no is[protected]. People were boarding in the 3A compartment without a proper ticket and were halting at there destination. The TC came just once for checking throughout the whole journey. The dust bins were full and nobody came to clean them while the journey. Then what is the use of traveling with a ticket in a 3A compartment.

                                        Sir,
                                        I would like to bring in the notice of the Indian railway Ministry, the misbehaviour and the poor service being provided to the travellers in the railways.
                                        I was travelling in train 8182 no.dated 23.11.2010( pnr no.[protected]. The attendant in the AC coach provided me with inly one bedsheet and when i asked for the other amenities(towel, blanket, 1more sheet),
                                        he simply refused at 1st. At the end, he provided me with 1 another bedsheet but that was used one.
                                        On further complaining him about the same, he replied sying that he was not afraid of anyone and do watever can be done against him.
                                        Is this the way one of the biggest railways in he world works????
                                        I want justice and clarification regarding this and that concerned attendant need to be suspended so that other passengers dont face the same problems.
