Dear team,
I placed order for lenovo k8 note through amazon on 22 march 18.
Its been around 4.5 months only and my phone is facing "powering on: issue which i observed on 6th aug 18, when my phone got switched off after 7-8% battery left notification. I contacted lenovo customer care and followed basic troubleshooting steps they told which didn't resolve the issue and visited nearest lenovo/motorola service center on 10th of aug.
They said its neither because of battery issue nor software issue. Its because of some fault on motherboard - hardware problem-which is yet to be identified. But it can't be covered under warranty saying power key connector plastic casing, very minor, seems little bit broken. On inquiring they told this casing in no way affects working of the phone, so even if i got the phone from retailer in this condition i would have not known. Also, in my use in last 3-4 months my phone has never fallen nor being hit against anything hard ever. Also, neither phone has ever been opened nor it is having any external damage, as inspected and confirmed by service team as well.
I shouldn't suffer my warranty replacement/repair because of such a thing which firstly is very minor, cosmetic in nature and in no way affects functioning of motherboard and hence phone, and secondly could have happened either by service center engineers while opening my phone (Which didn't happen in front of me) or being provided as is to me when i purchased from retailer.
Service center people refused to write their first problem inspection report while providing job sheet first day even on insisting saying we do this on returning phone and also refusing to share the mail communications making me doubt the fair procedure, saying these are internal.
I have mailed to lenovo smartphones service head, mr. Vikas sharma, on 11-august-2018 but still awaiting response.
We pay this much amount of money for branded phones because of its reliability and credibility. But even if during warranty customer is in this way troubled, that's at stake.
I have used the phone taking all the required care.in such a short time, in warranty period, if phone has started facing motherboard related issues, i would request my complete phone or motherboard be duly replaced under warranty at earliest as phone's unavailability is causing me inconvenience on daily basis.
