Msedcl has been resorting to illegal power cuts in Haware Vrindavan Tower ABD CHS Khanda Colony Sector 9. The residents have been suffering despite paying all their bills on time & situation does not seem to improve. Msedcl imposed a power cut on 16-6-23 from 5.50 pm to 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm to 8.15 pm, 10.30 pm to 11.20 pm, on 14-6-23 from 4 pm to 6 pm, 12-6-23 1.50 pm to 5 pm, 11-6-23 from 7.40 pm till 11.45 pm, 7-6-23 from 7.40 pm till 11.45 pm, on 5-6-23 from 5 am to 5.25 am, 1.50 pm to 2.15 pm, on 4-6-23 from 2.40 am to 3.15 am late-night, on 3-6-23 from 1.40 am to 3 am late-night, on 2-6-23 from 1.40 am to 5 am late-night.
The helpline number[protected] of MSEDCL Khanda Colony is continuously busy as they unplug the receiver during power cuts. Due to these power cuts, residents feel groggy & incapacitated & fall sick as they can't breathe properly due to lack of ventilation and they end up suffocating and sweating excessively resulting in fatalities. Following are the problems faced by the residents:- 1. Residents feel groggy and incapacitated and fall sick and their heart rate increases leading to fatalities.2. Costly vegetables, fruits, milk, batter & other perishables etc stored in the refrigerator get spoilt leading to tremendous losses. 3. Mobile phones conk off due to disruption. MSEDCL has been torturing the residents over the last 32 years despite them paying all their bills regularly and that too well before the due date. Over the years, the population in Khanda Colony has increased tremendously but the transformer capacity has not been increased by MSEDCL due to unknown reasons. When will the existing residents get 24/7 power for 365 days. They have waited patiently for the last 32 years. Mind you, Khanda Colony is located in a city Navi Mumbai with close proximity to the Navi Mumbai international airport and is not a village to bear such brutal power cuts. The residents return home tired and weary from work and EOD there is no power. People are not cattle. It is high time the transformer capacity is increased to cater to all the residents requirements in the locality. The residents appeal to the Honourable Prime Minister and Maharashtra Chief Minister to initiate a CBI enquiry into these power cuts and resolve the issue permanently and provide much needed relief to the residents and take stringent action against MSEDCL for imposing such illegal power cuts.

It's 12.37 in the morning 14th june and I am here typing cause I am unable to sleep due to power cuts and extreme heat. Power suddenly taken 6times and more yesterday and previous days before. Only ones happy with this arrangement are mosquitoes and invertor businessmen . Please try to find a solution for this. We are hard working people from humble backgrounds and we do deserve good quality sleep and life.

I am writing to complain about the extremely unhelpful and unprofessional staff at the Ramtekdi Section Office (Hadapsar Sub Dn 1) who are not making any effort to solve our problem.

Our flat was lying vacant from 29 September 2020 to 10 May 2023 ( 2 years 8months) and the main electricity supply in our house + the building’s meter room was switched off during this period. we even left a sign on our meter downstairs saying we were out of town.

From Sept 2020 till July 2022 we received fair ‘no use’ charges against our bills.
Then Suddenly from Aug 2022 we started receiving very high bills between the amounts Rs2000/- to Rs3000/-even though flat was lying vacant and we were not in the country and meter was not in use. MSEB people assigned the meter ‘faulty’ and we were forced to pay the bill from outside the country because :

      1. the customer care service were not forwarding our complaint about the faulty meter to the concerned people who have to take action (asking us to do this in person ourselves) and the app or website has no option to report this ourselves.
      2. We were forced to pay the high bills then to prevent the MSEB board from cutting off the electricity supply

After arriving on May 11, 2023, I have visited the Ramtekdi section office more than 5-6 times to officially report the meter faulty and ask them to adjust the amount for the period of no use plus to ask for a new meter. Officials there are simply making to run around and waste time unnecessarily instead of replacing with a new meter. They are also not adjusting the high bills paid for the period of no use.

The Assistant Engineer there R. Khattare along with the madam in his office there are. particularly unhelpful and seem not interested in helping consumers at all. Too much bureaucracy and making the customer run around . They are refusing to even accept the point that our flat was lying vacant and meter was not in use (even if faulty in the meantime they should be considering that no electricity was being used in a vacant flat which can justify these exorbitant charges ). Both are simply making to run around back and forth from their office over several trips saying Mr Rasal who did the meter inspection will adjust the amount. However Mr Rasal has also refused to adjust the amount on the current bill saying meter is faulty and asked to buy the meter from an outside shop without providing names of any approved dealers.

So far all MSEB officials at the section office seem least bothered to provide a solution that is fair to us and that takes into account our grievances.

Hand written application has already been submitted to Mr Khattare’s office and they are still not committing to replace the meter for us or offering any date by which they will replace the meter either- just demanding that we continue to settle the very high bill every month.

Extremely callous mentality by these officials who do not understand how the customer is suffering by having to pay such ridiculously high bills.

Prior to the faulty bills our bills never exceeded more than Rs800-Rs1000/- when in use. Now bills average between Rs[protected]/- every month irrespective of whether meter is in use or premises are vacant.

      Kindly take the following actions:

      1. Provide a new meter on priority basis as have already been paying very high bills for over 9 months now
      2. Adjust the current outstanding and high bill to compensate for the high bills we have paid while not in the country

      3. Make procedures transparent and visible. Consumer should be able to report faulty meters or bring things to the attention of the section office via the app or website too without having to waste precious time and visit in person

      4. Provide communication/contact numbers of the officials at the section offices and make this visible to customers. There is no way currently to reach the section offices other than by visiting in person and it seems to take over 10 trips to get anything addressed by the officials because no one there seems in agreement with the procedures and are busy contradicting one another and every person you talk to will say a different thing only with the intention if dragging things endlessly.
      5. Educate the officials on how to deal with customers and their complaints instead of just being rude and dismissive. There appears to be zero accountability and no regard for providing any solution for the consumers other than to exploit them further.
      6. Customer Care service on telephone/app /email needs to actually address complaints meaningfully instead of just randomly closing all complaints saying solution is reached when no solution has been provided.
      7. End the bureaucracy and stop making solutions so complicated
      8. If there is non availability of meter, contact details should be provided by section office of outside approved/ authorized dealers who can supply with an approved new meter so that consumers don’t get cheated on this and steps must be taken to replace faulty meters with new meters within 2-3 months maximum instead of creating financial burden on consumers

      Thank you.

That ### misanthrope Msedcl has been resorting to load shedding and irregular power cuts in Khanda Colony Sector 9. The residents have been suffering despite paying all their bills on time & situation does not seem to improve. Msedcl imposed a power cut on 7-6-23 from 7.40 pm onwards till now, on 5-6-23 from 5 am to 5.25 am, on 4-6-23 from 2.40 am to 3.15 am late-night, on 3-6-23 from 2.40 am to 3 am late-night, on 2-6-23 from 1.40 am to 5 am late-night, on 3-5-23 from 12 midnight till 5 am, on 3-5-23 from 6.45 am to 7.15 am, on 2-5-23 from 9 am to 2.30 pm, on 17-4-23 from late night 3 am till 18-4-23 5 pm i.e 14 hours continuously, on 15-4-23 from 2 pm to 5 pm, 14-4-23 from 8.50 pm to 11.30 pm, 13-4-23 from 3 pm to 6 pm, , 10-4-23 from 3 pm to 4 pm, 4-4-23 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, 27-3-23 from 3 pm to 7 pm, 26-3-23 from 12 pm to 2 pm. 3. Mobile phones conk off due to disruption & work from home is not possible 4. Students are not able to study from online school lectures and youtube videos. MSEDCL has been torturing the residents over the last 32 years despite them paying all their bills regularly and that too well before the due date. Load shedding is not the solution and electricity generation is the need of the hour. Residents of Navi Mumbai are those who have shifted from Mumbai as encouraged by the Central & State Govt where there were no power cuts as it was insulated by Tata, BEST, BSES. However even today MSEDCL cannot supply 24X7x365 days power supply. Maharashtra Govt should change the Power Distributor in Navi Mumbai from MSEDCL to TATA Power as it will insulate Navi Mumbai by supplying 24 X 7 power at cheaper rates for Navi Mumbai from Vashi to Panvel/Airoli.

Our Meter was declared faulty from Aug 2022 while our flat was lying vacant and we were not in the country. Since Aug 2022 we have been receiving very high bills (in the range of Rs[protected]/- every month till date). Prior to Aug 2022 when our MSEB bills used to average around Rs400/- only when the meter was not in use.

We have previously already submitted applications at our section office stating we don’t reside in the country permanently and only visit once in a way but the staff there now say they have no way of accessing old records and don’t have this record.

MSEB officials at the Section Office for our area also claim they have no new stock to replace our meter.

The Section Office have not even provided the application form for requesting for a new meter saying to get the old meter tested first . We paid Rs260/- for meter testing of the existing faulty meter on 24 May 2023 yet their staff have not showed up to remove the meter for testing and have not arrived to do this as of today 7 June 2023.
Also the meter inspection guy Mr Rasal is always offering conflicting information to what is provided by the section office saying full Meter Testing is not really required since no reading is displayed on the LCD and only the general inspection he has carried out is enough . However the madam at the Section Office staff sitting in the Engineers office has refused to accept this and is demanding a full testing with a report which indicates the load for accepting any apple for a new meter.

While these demands for ‘testing is required-no testing is required’ goes back and forth between the staff contradicting one another, MSEB is continuing to bill us very high bills around Rs3000/- because they claim they can’t replace the meter and meter reading is faulty.

The MSEDCL staff at the section office are extremely unhelpful and unwilling to explain anything properly. They will only talk in Marathi, even if telling them we don’t understand it well . They contradict one another and deliberately try to confuse with conflicting information so that the matter drags endlessly. They do not take into account the inconvenience the consumer is facing because of their inefficiency and the burden of high charges .

It is very frustrating dealing with such unprofessional public servants who are least interested in doing their job and think nothing of the high bills and hardship consumers have to face running up and down to their office to sort things out. I have already made over 4 trips there to submit applications around this and so far no action has been taken. Any online complaint raised is also just randomly closed.

This staff, Mr Rasal who is assigned the task of meter inspection and removing the meter for testing has been particularly difficult to deal with, uncooperative and rude and has created endless confusion by offering different information to what is being said by staff at the section office. It appears as if he is setting his own procedures and is unwilling to listen, never answers anything to the point and seems like he is hoping for motivation to do his job.

MSEDCL needs to work on making all customer centric procedures transparent and readily available for the consumer to view in more than one language. There appears to be zero accountability towards the consumer

In Vishal nagar, pimple nilakh Pune area. During the summers with so much dense temperature powercut happens twice a day. In nights as well there is powercut for more than hours. We are paying high amount of rents and also energy bills as well still we are facing this issue from decades there is no action taken yet. We work in hectic schedule and when we came back to rest there is always disappointment with frequent power cuts. Looks like we are living in rural area with high standards.

Requesting MSEB, pcmc pune to fix this so that people can survive effectively. For sure worst MSEB management ever seen.

I have install solar system as per approval and in consultation with mseb staff pune kalyani nagar.

On 6th May 2023 reading of solar and mseb meter was done by Mr anil in my presence and photo of meter readout was taken by mr anil . Reading were
solar946 and mseb consumption 806. Thus own generated solar unit was over then consume unit by 40 unit.
