The Concerned,
I have exchanged my 18 Month old Alto k10 [KA09Z5253] and purchased New Ritz VDI - Grey color delivered on 15th June 2012 from Friendly motors.[KA09MA2326 -Purchased in my wife's name Dr Babitha] . During delivery there were minor scratches on the body , when informed about this during delivery to the sales person Mr Kishen , he promised me to look after it during first service[promised me entire body polish]. I was convinced (unwillingly) and drove the vehicle towards temple for pooja.
On the way, I could notice a remarkable noise of the engine, though diesel engines makes more noise, i have driven new dzire,swift also ritz demo where i did not notice this much of a noise. This was kind of rattling , irritating or some kind of metallic abrasion sound. Meanwhile,
To my surprise , the odometer was not counting further than the 36Kms which was shown during delivery, and I was shocked to see the speedometer needle sleeping at 0 kms point while the vehicle is moving!!.
I called up the sales person and informed about all these, and i got a ready-made answer from him saying that in some of the vehicles it will be forgotten to plug it before delivery, its just a minor work and it'll be done on the very next morning and regarding noise, diesel engines make more noise and since its a new vehicle it'll make more noise and suggested me to wait until the first service. Since i was already disheartened by that time , i just kept quite and performed pooja and took the vehicle on the very next day 16th morning to Friendly Motors , [near RTO circle Mysore]. I was attended by the same sales person and he insisted me to bring the vehicle to the basement. A mechanic opened the bonnet and just plugged the speedometer/odometer cable [may be in 5 secs].
I drove the vehicle until the odometer clicked the min requirement for the first service,dropped it to the MASS- Friendly motors Near NIE college Mysore. Complained about all the above issues, service was done and the vehicle was ready for the delivery. I test driven and found very very marginable reduction in noise and the Service engineer - Pasha and works manager Mr. Mohanraj asked me to wait for 500 more kms as it is under observation and asked me to come back if it didn't stop. Obviously it didn't and i bought back and dropped the vehicle again.
This time i was having a strong doubt about the genuine-ness or new-ness of the vehicle since the odometer was purposefully disconnected after being recorded a 36kms mark. As i knew the GM - Service of Maruti/Mandovi/Mysore , he had told me that nobody knowingly or unknowingly would do that in any of the Authorised MS dealers. When i asked about all these to the Work manager in charge Mr Sunil , he told me all this non sense that "some of the vehicles will be driven to the promotional events held at various cities as there will be displays of the cars, during that time we disconnect the odometer so that the customers should not miss and get the full benefit of 40000kms warranty". Mr Mohan raj said that he needs 3 days to fix the issue as he needs to use some suzuki diagnostic kit and i agreed to leave the vehicle.
During the service [repeated job after 500 kms observation] , they have replaced hydraulic lashes and rocker arms of the engine, and i test drove the vehicle along with Mr. Sunil. I was half convinced since i very sure that there is still scope for noise reduction. [I also drive new dzire and swift owned by my colleagues very often]. Also i had to literally shout and quarrel at the with the work manager and sales person for not attending the scratches [during delivery] on the vehicle.
Later , I drove 1000 kms (approx) more and the engine noise is in peak and the turbo in inefficient and I am really very angry but helpless at this time and dropped the vehicle again. Its been 2 days and i am still awaiting a call from the service team to recieve the car with a fault free engine. This time i have contacted GM-Service Mr. Barath (through phone) and requested to take special care.
I have decided to post my complaint here and i have questions to the - Maruti Suzuki as follows,
1.Can the vehicle be delivered in such a condition that the speedometer/odometer disconnected!!?
2.If your service engineer is true, can you sell a used vehicle i.e used for promotional events to the customers as a new vehicle?
3.Can an engine of a new vehicle be in such a disastrous condition ? Its ridiculous.
I strongly demand the compensation for the harassment I am going through, My time , My patience and I strongly demand a replacement of the car and get me a new complaint free vehicle. Please track my vehicle no KA09MA2326 and kindly act ASAP.

Maruti Suzuki — faulty engine
Dear sirHave bought a k series wagon r from DD motors in 2010 number DL3CBC4633, the car after running 5000 kms developed a technical snag it stops while running in full speed repated visits to rohan motor work shop mohan co operative has failed to give results this car has turned into a killer machine it stops while running jamming brakes, steering and other parts of the cars its a wagon r vxi k series engine I have written repeated mails to u which u have perhaps not even seen and also talking to mr. Dibyanshu was useless as he was rude and misbehaved over phone and refused to provide any services ....I need an immediate replacement of this car to save my life as it running in 14000 kms and the R&D which started from 5000 kms has reaped no results please save my life and replace this car or some day I will be hit by a running vehicle tailing me!!!!! Hoping for quick help
