Dear Sir

My son has booked, as per the details below. Not only the taxi did
not come, and the response was very pathetic

1. I have formally forwarding a complaint to consumer forum
2. If there are some issues, they should call us atleast one hour in
advance to inform
3. The operator who handles the phone was so cool, saying if you want
, we will send after two hours as if the flight will wait for Meru
cabs
4. How will this be tolerated and we have to make several calls to
know whether the car is not coming and no courtesy to inform in
advance

This is the second time. We understand contingencies can happen and
Meru being uncustomary and saying if you miss the flight, it is not
our botheration, is shocking. We would like to listen first to your
response and take legal approach subsequently

    why should Meru will care about their customer after looting, they will not and will never, this company is pathetic, caring the customer is like a dream, 1st of all they dont bother about their employee, i was the employee of meru and i know each and everything what is meru, till now they cant pay me my pf so i really want to sue them

      Meru Taxi service has become a nuisance firstly the cabs are never available even if one calls a day in advance to reserve the booking. They shamelessly say at the time of booking that the cabs slots are booked. (This is the 7th-8th time this has happened). There empty cabs are always parked in areas like airport where the drivers are sitting idle and waiting for hours. They dont seem to be taking there service seriously. They should stop there service & let other preferred cabs take over. There drivers are often rude and ill mannered. Specially with female passengers. Im disgusted with Meru Cab and should ban them.

      Meru Cab Service — I booked a cab , a and the cab did not come till the scheduled time

      I had booked a Meru cab on 19 Dec 2009 Ref No :ABA38636 from Charkop to Chembur , the pick up time was 6:30 p.m., I called up to inquire at 6:00 p.m. to confirm the cab details , they informed me that the cab details will be sent to me by sms 15 min prior to pick up time, then again i called up at pick up time to inform that I had not received any cab details as yet , then they inform me that there was no cab available near my vicinity, I would have to wait for another 40 min till the time they arrange for another cab, Is it very unprofessional behavior on part of meru , they should have informed be this at least half- hour prior to the pick up time so that i could make some alternate arrangement, I will never use there service again

      Meru Cab Service — not dependable, horrible customer service

      This is the second time I had very bad experience with Meru cab service.

      I booked the cab for international airport on 3rd Jan,10 - 1.30am pickup. I got booking confirmation but the cab did not turn up. upon calling they said it is not coming!

      stupid people playing with customers.
      never depend on it, rubbish service.

        Hi Team,


        I booked a Cab on 06th December at 6.45 PM with MERU services in Mumbai for Thane from Mumbra and i recived the message that they will send a details 20 min prior to time.
        In the mean time as the time passed i havent received my CAB details

        When i call them at 6.45 they say Car is not available in my vicinity and thus i loss my important appointment with Doctor

          The Service of meru Cab is pathetic, simply worst.within 7 months I booked Meru Cab for 4 times through phone and website and not for a single time i got the cab. All the times they took the booking and told it's confirmed and before 20 minutes they have cancel the cab. The reason I know, I booked the cab for shorter distance (7-8 km). by that time if they got booking for airport they will immediately provide the cab so that they can earn more. This is simply pathetic. Last Saturday I booked cab online and it got confirmed. before 20 minutes i got the confirmation message also with cab number and driver details. Then the driver called me and told he is around 1 hr far from my home, it will take 1 hr for him to reach my place where as i had my train exactly after 1 hr. So he asked to call meru cab and asked them to provide another cab. I called and the meru cab person simply refused that they don't have any cab. I had 2 Sr. Citizens with me. And there was very less time to catch the train. It was really a horrible moment for me. Simply I can say Meru cab is bad, worse and worst. Go for auto...even they charge illogically then also u will get anytime.

          Meru Cab — Poor and worst service

          Meru cab is loosing their image with poor service. They have started to book a cab prior to 24hrs i.e within 24 hrs. But whenever you are booking their cab always they have the same answer that we don't have slots at this time. If I am calling prior to 24hr i.e calling 7:30 am and asking to book for next dat 7:35 am they have the same answer. No one is interesd to loag a complaints, finally I got one number from chauffer and raised a complaint regarding this situations. While talking to their chauffer I felt they are not happy with their service they are not getting drops as they required. I think its a unity of all chauffers that they will do whatever they want. There might be some tie-up between drivers and other special passenger that why we are not getting the slots. They are replying with that we have Internet booking so that's why you are not getting slots but even on the site they are not getting any booking which is more than 24 hrs. Then where is the slots going ? They are making us full evry time. We should understand this thing even if we have emergency we are not getting any cab, so many Meru cabs are vacant at the morning time at Thane Ghodbunder and in Mulund area, and not taking the bookings, there are so many questions arise but executive are enough capable to handle this.

            I believe it is a very common phenomenon that Cabs / Auto drivers offer service depending on their liking of the destination. But one would not expect this with the private premium charging Taxi so called corporate service providers as Meru and Easy Cabs. The patterns noticeable here is there service is good when it comes to pick up and drop to Bangalore International Airport. But dare call them for drop at any other destination, the answer would always be "Cabs Unavailable". My question is why this bias and if this is the case then why don't they declare that they will only provide services to Airport and nowhere else within city. It is also not linked to the distance as i tried hiring a cab for a drop to Yeshwanthpur Rly Station from Thippasandra Main Road and i got the usual "Cabs not available" reply.

            What should a consumer do in such case? Cant even say that will not avail their service as the Airport is located conveniently for them 34 KM outside city limits. Their should be some regulatory authority to monitor any mal practice prevailing in private Taxi service providers. Public Taxi should not be allowed to refuse service if the customer is willing to pay the mandated service charges. Their job is to take the commuter to the destination he/she is will to pay for and not the destination which seems profitable for the Taxi driver.

              Following is the experience with my last use of MEru cabs.

              Booking Details
              Date of the Trip : 7/Sep/2011
              Time : 2100 hours
              Pick-up : Borivali Station (East)
              Drop : Goregaon
              Cab No. : MH01 JA 9035
              Chauffeur Name : Subhash Gaurishankar Singh
              Chauffeur Mobile : [protected]

              On arriving at Borivali station the chauffeur refused to come to the station & insisted that we walk out of the station premises & meet him near Mongini's cake shop. Since, there were 2 ladies in the group & we were carrying heavy luggage, it took us about 10 mins to reach Mongini's. The chauffeur called up and informed us that he would not wait beyond 15 mins if we didn't reach in time. When we reached Mongini's, he was nowhere to be seen. On calling him up, he said he would reach there in 5 mins. When he came eventually, he drove past us and parked about 50 meters away. Even when I explained that the luggage was heavy & my mother was 67 years old with Arthritis & hence couldn't walk, he initially refused to drive back. After a lot of coaxing & cajoling, when he finally came down, he started screaming & behaving very rudely & told us that since it was beyond 15 mins, he wasn't obliged to service us and also refused to take any luggage other than that, which would fit into the boot.

              While I understand the 15 mins clause has been devised for better logistical management, in this case teh delay was caused due to :
              1. The chauffeur's refusal to pick us up from the station
              2. Him not being available at the designated pick-up point when we reached there
              3. The time wasted due to his refusal to drive back even 50 meters despite explaining the difficulties we were facing

              When I complained the Meru helpline to register my feedback, I was informed that Meru has a policy of not arranging pick-ups from Railway stations. In that case, why is Borivali station listed as a pick-up option on your website.

              I am usually flattered by the service quality of Meru and am a huge advocate of your service, but in this case the whole experience was extremely inconveniencing & disappointing, especially since there were lady travellers & we were carrying some heavy luggage. Moreover, the behaviour of chauffeur was extremely rude.

                I have booked a meru cab on the net on 5th sep 2011 at 2 pm my journey was 2 hours later at 4pm from yesvantpur to banerghata( Booking Ref No[protected] . My cab request was accepted.
                My mother was supposed to come from kolkata on Duranto & she had some problem in her knees so I could not take any chance so I called up the meru people & they confirmed that my cab is booked & I will get the details 20min before the journey time. Till 3:51pm I did not receive any messages. so I called the meru number again, they said your booking is confirmed will give the details just now. At 3:54pm a call came to me from some meru guy & he said that they cannot provide me with the cab. At that time when the train has almost reached the station & only 4 minutes before my journey I was totally lost & did not know what to do. The train arrived and the irresponsible act of the Meru Cab caused me so much harrassment that I cannot describe. I am new to this city(only 3 months old) & I was totally confused what to do with my ailing mother.

                  It is very disappointing that Meru cab driver tells me 30 minutes before the pick up and that too when I call him up that he will not be able to come. No further explanations are given by him. He asked me to speak to the call center. Then I receive a call from Meru Call center and I explain the entire situation post which I was transferred to the complaints department. I was told some action would be taken, but I am yet to hear about it. Attaching a copy of the email body.

                    Is this condition legal to have below statement in terms and condition for Booking the CAB

                    "Meru shall be entitled at any time without giving any reason or prior notice to terminate the booking of taxis done by the Customer."

                    how could anybody put such terms in the agreement as one totally depends on the service , at least we would like to have intimation of cancelled service quite well in advance to arrange for alternative transport

                      I had called Meru Cabs a no. of times since last three weeks.Last four times I called was to book a car from Hari Nagar to Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar but all to no avail. I was asked all the details all four times & then was asked to hold. But after holding, the response was " Sorry Ma'am cabs are not available.You can check after 2 hours for the availability".And, after 2 hours the response was still the same. Today again I called three hours prior to book the cab for 10:30 am from Hari Nagar to Janak Puri & once again I got the same response. They simply refuse to go on a short distance. This is very inconvenient for me as the doctor has advised me to avoid bumpy rides in auto & I had to visit the doctor only. And, what if someone has an emergency?? Last year I also booked cabs lot of times but I never faced such problem. This clearly shows that one can't depend on such Cab services anymore.I have travelled to other cities as well but I never face such non availability issues except Delhi.Kindly look into the matter urgently & make travelling in taxis safer & less irritating for us.

                      Meru Cabs — Contradicting statements and refusal to travel short distances

                      Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This complaint goes against Mehru cab service all over India. Have tried on several occasions to book this cab service travelling a short distance. The operator though polite comes back to me in less than 5 secs, telling me sorry all mehru cabs in my city are booked for that time frame. This has happened not once, twice but many times with me. I although always seem to get them to deliver if i choose to travel long distance. This is a total scam and blatant lying on their part. I feel taxi services as the above should be fined for refusal to take customer where they want to go, and furthermore should be barred from operating in that city. Besides many of them try to add on misc charges such as convienience an a charge to turn on a/c. They can afford to do this cause they can get away with this. Please wake up and take action, to the officials reading this if any !!!!

                        I had booked a Meru Cab on 10-June-2011 through your website and your reference Number was 5785466. Cab was booked for pick up from Bhiwandi to Thane at 9.30 PM. After booking it online and I had also called up your customer care number 44224422 and got a confirmation from one of your executive that my request is accepted and cab is available at 9.30 PM from Bhiwandi. But When I did not received any cab details 20 min prior to pickup time, I called your customer care number and ask for details at that I came to know that there are no cabs available for pick up. This is not the kind of service that is acceptable from Meru. If the car was not available MERU should have given called an inform us that there are no cab available. It was rainy day and my brother in law had to bring four childrens (twin girls three month old, One boy eight Month old and a girl six year old) , my wife and my sister in law. MERU had kept us in very difficult situation without providing any alternate solution. MERU will have to compensate for the problem that my family has faced due to the inconvenience service.

                            This is my horrifying experience with MERU CAB. I booked the cab 1 day prior to the journey from kundanahalli gate to Yeshwantpur station. Reference number 5389359. Booking is for 24th May 2011. My pickup time was at 8 AM in morning. Twice I called to the customer care to confirm my booking. But it was my hard luck/ poor service by Meru/ lack of professionalism of MERU cab some guy called me @ 7.50 AM and informed that they are not able to send the cab ( From Number: [protected]). Suddenly it was a shock for me. My train time was at 10.30 AM and I still don't know you will be able to make it or not. This is extreme label of nondisciplinary service by MERU. I am requesting you take necessary action. I booked it via internet and they promised a good service for number of times.Now I want to go for some kind of legal action against Meru cab for this inconvenience.

                              This is the second time in a row that I have had a serious problem with the bookings made through MERU cabs.I had to board an imternational flight at 1pm for which the check in cut off was 930.Going by the me.history of Meru being late for most of the bookings I had made earlier I made a booking at 745 which was 15mins prior to the time i had to leave.in spite of several calls my cab did not arrive till 8:20, and finally I had to be dropped off 4kms from my house to be picked up by the cab.It has been 10days since i am yet to get a response to my complaint by their "Service Dept" .Now i should have been smarter and booked a cab from another service provider today!what I did was book a cab for 11 am , 30mins in advance to the time I wanted to leave.I didnt mind paying that extra from the waiting time beyond 15mins and definetely didnt want to go through the anxiety i went through last time.So all wentof well till about 1045 ,which was the time the cab reached my home.Thought my complaint didnt go waste.so i get down to board the cab at 1120 and to my horror the cab is missing.on calling the cab driver he coolly says he had left.I cant imagine how someone to call u for directions but not call you when they are leaving.

                              I am thoroughly disappointed and frustrated with the way MERU has been functioning.I would really like to take legal action against them to ensure that they understand that the standing that they have in the city for the car service is because of coprporate cuistomers like me who initially liked their service because of their professionalism.The call centre execs have some tat on their calls and dont have the patience or inclination to understand the customers requirements.they better change their punch line RELY ON US to CANNOT REKY ON US.

                                Meru Cabs not book a cab for short distance. Today 30/4/2011 I was trying to book a cab from JP Nagar to Yashwantpur but these guys refuse the booking by saying Non Availability of Cab.
                                I was booking the cab 14 hr prior to departure. Customer care guys says that you can try just 25 min. before the departure.
                                After paying Rs. 50.00 as convenience charges, we are not able to avail the cab service.

                                  At BIAL, Meru & other organized cab companies seem to have an arrangement with the touts of local cab drivers to ensure that customers stand in long lines so that they are forced to use the services of the local cabs, which exploit gullible customers & bundle many together in cars of pathetic condition.                                     I had booked a Meru taxi on 16/2/11 for going to Delhi Airport from Gurgaon on 17th Feb 2011 at 4:30am. On 17th morning I had received an sms from MERU with the taxi no DL1RY4156 & Drivers cell no. As the driver did not report on time i called up on his cell no. He didn't bother to answer my call even after several attempts. Then i called up Merucabs. After going thru IVR and holding for lot of time, I was answered by their executive. He informed me that the vehicle broke down and will not come and no alternate arrangement can be made. In this process I lost precious 30 minutes and another 15 minutes for arranging another taxi myself, thus missing my flight. Had I been told by MERUCABS their inability to serve on time I could catch the flight. This is a totally irresponsible behavior from meru. They informed me that they will not compensate for the losses I had incurred due to the above

                                    I also for the second time had the displeasure o[censored]sing this miserable company. Last time the driver just over charged me by some 200 rs.

                                    This time the driver over charged me by 240.00 rs. He clocked 29.3 kilometers from CP the Vasundahra in GZD.
                                    Not only he was not a bad driver but was rude. we have established he was dishonest as well as, on top of that he was discourteous.

                                    How can a company that seems to have pride in their so called service have people like this in the organization. May be it starts at the top and filter all the down.

                                    Shame on this kind of company.

                                      I have booked Meru cab on[protected]. My reference number was 3025082. I have booked cab for Mumbai-central-railway-station (destination) starting on[protected] time at 4:00 PM. Despite my 24 hr advance booking, Meru cab did not arrive till 4:30 on scheduled booking date[protected]. Meru cab service provider neither sms nor called on my mobile about their inability to provide Meru cab service. I waited till 4:30 PM and hired another cab service. I have registered my complain (they told complain number is my mobile number) to meru cab helpline about this incident but they did not respond till date today[protected]. It was disgusting to wait for a cab till last moment of departure (booked departure time 4:00) and them arrange another cab in hurry. The customer help was useless and simply add to insult by not informing passenger about cab service.

                                      All in all, Meru cab failed to provide a cab which was booked 24 hr before scheduled journey. If it had happened to me than the chaos can happen to others also. In my opinion, everybody should think twice before booking a cab through this service provider.

                                        I phoned Meru Call Centre [protected] on Sunday, 06 February 2011 to book a taxi for a drop to the International Airport, Mumbai from Mira Road the following day (07 February) at 5.30 AM.

                                        I received an SMS with the reference number 3329353, and a subsequent SMS informed me that the Cab: MH02WA8765, Driver: Bansidhar Pandey, Cell: [protected] will reach me at the designated time.

                                        Mr. Pandey was not there at the designated time, so I phoned at 5.41 AM and he informed me that he was on his way, and stuck in traffic. I subsequently phoned him at 6.01 AM, 6.03 AM, 6.27 AM to check about his whereabouts.

                                        It is important to note that not once did Mr. Pandey or the Meru Call Centre phone me up to inform me about the delay. I had to phone each time to check about his whereabouts.

                                        During my last phone with Mr. Pandey he informed me that he was just beyond the Dahisar Toll Plaza. I informed Mr. Pandey that since he was very late, and that my guest was likely to miss his flight, he wait at the Dahisar Toll Plaza so my guest can board the taxi there.

                                        At 6.39 AM I received a call from Mr. Pandey that he will not wait any longer at the Dahisar Toll Plaza. He said that he was missing out on other business (aur bhi dhandha karna hai, were his words). When I informed him that he was at fault to not have reached on time, he was rude and blunt. To the point that he dared me to inform the “Company” if I had any issues, and he hung up the phone.

                                        The important point to note here is: the driver was not on time (he was late by over an hour), he / the company did not intimate me about the delay (I had to repeatedly call on each occasion), the driver was exceptionally rude – he not only dared me, but also hung up the phone on me while I was expressing my grievances.

                                        I would like to inform that I have made a record of all phone calls I received / made to Mr. Bhansidar Pandey ([protected]) and the Meru Cab Call Centre ([protected]).

                                        I would further like to inform that I immediately telephoned the call centre to register my grievance, and was given a patient hearing by the operator who promised action against the erring driver, and also informed me that he will call me thereafter.

                                        I regret to inform that I have received not feedback yet from Meru, and it is the forth day.

                                        I have availed services from Meru in the past with satisfactory results, but this incident has left such a bitter taste that it could well be the last time I subscribe to services of Meru Cab. For a company that prides itself on the training it imparts to drivers, this is a huge disappointment. I will also never recommend its services to anyone who checks with me.

                                        The entire experience and the lack of sensitivity displayed by the driver Bhansidar Pandey, and the company is appalling, and my guest very nearly missed his flight.

                                        I wished to escalate my complaint to the top management at Meru, but none of their contact details appear on the website. I wanted (in the event that they aren’t already) to apprise them about the state of affairs at their company, so they may take remedial measures – again, in the event that they deem it necessary.

                                        After many years of relation, I found that Meru firm do not stand on their commitment especially on Arr, time ...they have useless excuses whether it is about chauffeur or else an customer executive...due to them I was almost about to loose my Int'l flight and this happened many times in past months / years ... this firm is still lacking as compare to other companies ... Drivers behave like mafia by asking straightly to cancel the booking, Executives react as If they understand us very well by communicating with their simple script "Apology for the In convenience" ...I found this cab firm has got the higher applicable rates in Indian market as compare to other organizations, yet the services are very - very poor...this is an free advise to all citizens that please beware and make bookings at your own risk, as later you will be helpless & no body will be ready to respond you or give you an alternate solution.
                                        I Agree with you and STRONGLY DISAPPROVE OF HIRING MERU, In fact I even found Meru drivers indulging in taking a longer route for a designated drop and than fighting with the customers, on providing substantial documented proof, Meru has been unable to come up with solution . I am trying to enquire if we can lodged a complaint with traffic police for the same if anyone has an idea let me know since Meru doesnt take any action except a enquiry call and there drivers keep fleecing customer .

                                        I tried other cabs and found there drivers more professional and courteous and the fare charges come very less compared to a ride in Meru.
                                        Cheaters Meru Cabs and their Drivers

                                        How #MERU cabs make money:

                                        I was duped by the Meru Driver Subhash Chandra Yadav. He charged me on the credit card Rs 809. Told me that there was no network hence I ll have to pay him by cash. I also paid him by cash and then got a message from my bank that the money has been debited too. So he doubly charged me. I have called Meru many times but nobody is responding to me. This is pure cheating and extortion and the driver must be playing this prank with other innocent customers also.
                                        The drivers don't even know the correct route and sometimes take the customers to wrong route just to increase the kilometers. The same thing happened with me. I had to go to Panvel from Nerul ( Navi Mumbai). The driver wasn't knowing the route and took me to Mumbai Pune Expressway. I found that we were going on a wrong route and got it finalised when I saw the tunnel as there are no tunnels between Nerul and Pune. If I hadn't stopped him then the driver would have taken me to Pune instead of Panvel. The cabs are not even having GPS to know the correct routes. I had to ON my GPS to know where we were and to find the correct route. And the main point to be made is that the driver said that he went to Panvel just a day before and was knowing the route. But as I went forward I got to know that the driver himself stopped the cab after some intervals to ask the route to the passers by. Just because of this IDIOTIC mistake of the driver I had to pay almost 500 rupees extra.
                                        Its for sure that I am not gonna use the MERU CAB anymore but I want my 500 rupees back. The company can measure the distance the driver went wrong, calculate the money and give me the money back !

                                        and about the ratings, if this case wouldn't have taken place then I would have given 5 stars, but now I am not just interested in giving you even 1 star. So, 0 STARS!!

                                        i can give you some suggestions, please setup GPRSs in your cabs so that this thing doesn't happen to someone else.
