National Highways Authority of India [NHAI] Complaints & Reviews

I thought I should write this up as a responsible citizen and hence I am raising the same.
I have witnessed this several times that private vehicles with a sticker/board calling out "POLICE" mainly belonging to junior police personnel having Inspector or below ranks while not on duty getting toll free access through the Vip/Exempted lanes of all the toll plazas across West Bengal(not sure of other states).I find this as a completely unlawful activity.To the best of my understanding and knowledge police personnel on duty and travelling in government owned vehicles can only access the toll free facilities.I request the competent authorities to please take appropriate actions on the same and stop loosing legitimate revenue from toll taxes.

I have entered at Dasna toll gate entry with my Wagon R UP37F0687, on the date 19/5/23 approx 7 am, this car is not Generally being used by me so i doubted that my fast tag have a balance so i pushed button to collect entry slip but slip didn't came out the official at gate opened the gate saying I don't need entry slip and he made my entry. While I came at exit point baghpat/mavikalan at around 7:40 am‚ they asked me to show entry slip I told them what the story was and offer them double charge 65*2=130 rupees but he didn't accept . He asked me 490 rupees because I don't have entry slip & he harrassed me after insisting he asked at least 270 rupees had to be paid for exit but due to long Que he took 150 rupees insteed of double charge(130 rupees) .
It was totally toll plaza management's fault as I pushed button to collect slip failing which I also asked for entry slip from official but he didn't give me saying I wouldn't need it at exit. Then why the official at exit point misbehaved me and asked me for illegal charges ?
I have never experienced this types of rude behavior by any toll official till date and continuously visiting Eastern peripheral expressway using my another car up 15 bq 2121.
Please take some actions on such toll operator. Thanks & regard.

In toll plaza, Dehradun to Saharanpur in Sayyad Majra, your toll plaza officer behaviour is very rude. They are not work properly and your sensors aren't also working properly.
He talk very roughly with the customer and driver.

Collecting the toll amount when the NH is already in under high way construction

On Sunday, 14th May, 2023, when my family and i was coming to Delhi from Khatu Shyam by my car Alto K10- DL9CBA6860 then at Shahjahanpur toll (Rajasthan) we were waiting for more than 5 minutes on toll in a queue they deduct my toll charges even after make them know about 10 seconds rule on toll. After that one person came out and said "toll toh dena padega" then my father asked him to call the manager then his words like "Abe mai hi hu manager" the manager of the toll both misbehaved with my father (Sub
inspector in Delhi Police), although my father is 59 years old. He also abuse my mother. After a long arguments he threatened me that i have noted down your car number and and said "Dekhlunga bhen****d tujhe beech me se faad dunga". It's my request kindly take a strict action against within reasonable time otherwise i will file a petition in the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

In this complaint, I want my refund of toll and compensation of at least 10, 000 INR because of misbehavior with a Government officer and an Advocate of Delhi High Court

Around 12:31 PM on 30 April 2023, I crossed the Kaniminike Toll Plaza.
I enquired the toll collecting person that if the toll road is open for public.
That person said, its open for public to travel.

I believed and I paid the toll fare of Rs.135 and proceeded on the toll road.

After around 100 meters, we were asked to exit from the toll road and asked us to go in service road.

That day, Our PM was visiting Channapatna for some reasons. Due to this, they had closed the toll road.

Now when the toll road is closed, why did they collect the fare?

I enquired before entering the toll road, they said, its open for public.
But after collecting the toll, they closed the toll road and asked us to go in service road.

Please ask toll company to refund the toll fare collected in this case.

Yesterday, I was travelling from Mysore to Bangalore with my family. We were crossing Sheshagirihalli Toll Plaza at around 8:30PM. Firstly, we went to toll lane 11 and were in queue. After almost 2-3 minutes, person 1 (in attached photo) asked us, along with the vehicle in front us, to move back as his toll booth was not working. Then when we went to lane 10 there was another vehicle infront o[censored]s. His fastag was not working and taking long to process because of which were again in queue for another 5-7 minutes. Then we asked person 2 that as per NHAI guidelines that either if toll both not works (2018 GR Notification) or waiting time is more than 10 seconds, we are not paying for the toll booth and let us pass. My father told person 2 to let our vehicle pass through, for which he noted down number of vehicle in front o[censored]s and then blocked us. He said who will pay Rs. 270 for vehicle in front of you? I told how you want us to pass through the toll booth without removing the vehicle in front o[censored]s? And he started talking rudely with myself and my father infront of my wife and mother. We continueously told him we won't pay for the toll booth because of your toll booth malfunction as well as exceeding our rightful 10 second timeline. He, along with person 1, brought more guys and again started talking rudely to pay toll fees for ours as well as vehicle infront o[censored]s. We felt being threatened and he misbehaved for another 20-25 mins. And in the end, person 2 noted down our vehicle number and let us pass through. While on road as well as after reaching home I raised complaint of this staff behaviour with NHAI under complaint numbers: 8191219 and 8191840 at toll free number 1033. We were told action will be taken against their staff person, to which our surprise, my toll fee got deducted at around 10:45PM. Below are the details of transaction, my vehicle and contact number:

I always travel between Vashi to Ghatkopar and faced heavy traffic and long queue at toll plaza. According to the rule if vehicle are standing till the yellow marking, we should not be charged for toll. I have travelled on 13.5.23 to and fro both the time there was a long queue and I had to wait. 40rs each side toll has been charged and i want the same refund. Vehicle number MH43 BY9016

My name is Ritesh and my vehicle number KA04MM7312 is registered with Karur vysya bank for fasttag. My mobile number is [protected].
On 15th may at night around 12.37AM i got an sms that Rs30 has been debited from my account at 6.26pm on 14th May. But I haven't even taken out my vehicle from last 10days. This is wrongful deduction. I tried to raise the dispute with bank, but KVB bank has only 2 options for complaining, one for duplicate charges and other for paid through cash. My case falls in neither of the scenario. Also, I don't have cash paid slip to upload.
For me this looks like a scam by toll plaza. There's definitely something that they are doing. Please look into this and take appropriate action, in addition to refunding my amount. I had called 1033 to raise the complaint on toll plaza, but they clearly declined the request and disconnected the call.
If not action is taken then I will go to the consumer court and police to report this scam

I passed Sinner Tollway on 6/5/2023 at 17:59 on my way to Sinner and reached Nashik on 7/5/2023 at 12:44... I should have been charged twice but it was charged 6 times as Rs.45 However, the 4 times excess toll tax should be immediately credited to my fast tag account...

This is to inform you that I am regularly visit Gurgaon to Mathura and using some tolls which comes on this route...

I am facing problem with KMPH highway- Palwal toll plaza which charged more than actual amount many times .. currently I raised complaint against extra charged (5 times high) by this toll on 14/Mar/23 and got TAT about 25 days approx to resolve but still problem not resolved. Also called to NHAI and ICICI Bank regarding this to resolve this now and permanently but not getting positive response..

Plz support for the same and provide best solution on it..as lots of people not see Fastag account details and if these toll plaza team cuts unnecessary amount..

As me and my brother-in-law were passing through SHAKAPUR TOLL PLAZA NH-44 by our Four wheeler And the Operator of the Toll plaza counter named C RAMAKRISHNA was not in work mood he was not effective in work and when I said him about the waiting time was more then 120 seconds ( 2 MINUTES ) He replied That no time restrictions are implemented for TOLL PLAZAS

I pass thru Agra bypass and observed toll barrier we’re not opening in auto mode than operator ask me to take my car reverse and forward multiple times, post that he tried to scan manually but it didn’t worked. I observed he came closer to my car noted car Reg number and than enter the info in system.I ask that it should work in auto mode and waiting time was over 10 min so he should let me go without toll fee.
He misbehaved and told me “bahut Delhi hai tum jaise hai pradhan mantri se shikayat kar dena.

Sir mein rajasthan ke ludhawai toll plaza se gujar tha mere sath 2 ladies bhi thi morning me 7am to be fresh ke liye toll plaza pr bne huye bathroom toilet ko us krna chaha pr wha lock laga huaa tha..

On NH44, near toopran tollgate, the public restrooms as so unhygienic . Especially women's toilets were totally full of houseflies and foul smelling. Hope this complaint worths by taking proper action on this regard...

Nashik sinner tollways taken extra 45 rupees for fasttag not renewed and toll taken 45 rupees total 90 rupees was applied. If someone dont have Fasttag then every time they will applied charges for everyone Kindly suggest and let me know this charges.

Sir there is no board showing that bike is not allowed, but traffic police cut the challan of bikes which is not good. All other toll roads are free for bike. I am very disappointed when i have to pay challan for no reason because of police dadagiri. They told us pay challan here for 500 otherwise pay at court for 5000. Noone wants to do any discussion with police because everyone knows their behavior that's why they cut the challan anywhere when they want. Another thing is that at starting point no one tell you that bike is not allowed when they see us, we are going in front of them and there is a space also on corner side for bike. So, give full information to avoid this type of activities which frustrated people.

My fastag is on chasis number (MAT627129NLF62357) and vehicle registration number (TS10FC4426).

I was travelling from Hyderabad to Bhopal on 05-May-2023. I recharged my fastag with 1000 on 04-May-2023.

While travelling due to some reason my fastag was not getting scanned. For few tolls the clerk asked the chasis number and entered it manually and the toll was deducted from my wallet. However, there are many tolls where they denied entering the chasis number even i am having sufficient balance in my wallet. They were arguing that we do not have the facility to enter the chasis number. I counter argued with them that since another toll plaza has entered then why you cannot enter but they are adamant and did not listen to me. They charged toll with penalty.

I have raised a request to convert my fastag from chasis number to vehicle registration number which is under process.

I want to raise a complaint regarding the extra penalty charged from me for Rs 310(90+115+105).
