I purchased a Panasonic plasma 3D TV THP42-ST30D in 2012. My warranty expired few months back. My TV stopped working 2 months back. It shows 7 blinking red led lights. I contacted Panasonic Service in Chennai and the technician came home to inspect the TV. He told all the boards in your TV needs to be changed and charge would be 20K (I checked in internet, it does not require all the boards to be changed).
However, I went out of chennai for about a month. And called up Panasonic Service again. This time another technician came home and told only one board needs to be changed and it will cost around 6k including service chargers and he had already done several services like this. However, he informed I will get a quote from the Service station. Now, the service station gave me a quote of 16K for board and including tax and service it will be around 18K. I got fed up and called another service station in Chennai, who told me that the board costs around 10K.
Now, I would like to know as to why so much difference between each service station's price? And also, the service person told me it costs 6k but the service center asked for 16K. Why are they fleecing the customers like this? I called Panasonic Customer Care and asked them for the price of the board. They refused to give me any information and asked to contact the same service center again.
What is happening? I got Panasonic TV in spite of so much criticism from my colleagues and family members. Now, when I see this, I feel I made a wrong decision to go with Panasonic.
PS: Whenever I ask for 3d glasses from Panasonic showroom, they tell us to contact the Panasonic Service Center and whenever I ask them for 3D glasses, they ask me to contact Panasonic showroom.
I am really fed up of Panasonic.
Panasonic India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
We are using Sony also. Very happy with their Services. I am very upset about the Company Policy and the arrogance attitude of the concern person who called me. He was not at all cooperative.
Giving an example I purchased a Sony LED and after 4 years back the system was having trouble. Trust me the Sony Service Centre People came and just changed with a new LED. Just took a service charge of 1, 500 rupees. Its just WOW for any Customer.
Here the Service Centre people are only asking for money. Even i said that please give me this model number mother board but they are less interested. I asked them that i will pay you. But they are not ready to sell the Mother Board.
Its just a monopoly and if this continues Corporate world will stop using this Brand.
I got a call from this number [protected].. Totally non cooperation.
It clearly means after you purchase your Product we are not responsible at all.
However I cannot say more as its your Company.
But please try to change this mother Board so that this 55000 LED television shuld not go to scrap.
Or else please change this with an upgraded version.
