We pre-paid seats for 4 people on the Qatar Airways web site for a flight from Johannesburg to Paris only to find out that the seats we booked differ from the actual seats on the aircraft.

We booked our seats so that we would sit next to each other but ended up sitting next to strangers.

When we complained to the air hostesses they told us that the aircraft configuration must have changed from that what we saw on the web site and that we should complain to Qatar and ask for a refund.

This is totally unacceptable and we request a refund for the money we had to pay for the seat bookings.

We had to pay R4104 on the 19th April for the seat allocations.

    Dear Qatar Airways,

    I'd like to file a complaint since I had bought the flight ticket but I was being denied boarding. It was said that my ticket was invalid.

    I bought the ticket in advance on April 18, 2022 - a return ticket Stockholm - Jakarta, Jakarta - Stockholm. I got an email confirmation along with the e-ticket. It was written that the booking status was confirmed.

    My flight to Jakarta was scheduled on July 15, 2022. However, I suddenly had a business to attend in Japan on July 14, 2022. I tried to call Qatar Airways team to modify my flight to Stockholm - Tokyo, Jakarta - Stockholm. However, I was told that the flight modification was not possible. Thus, I bought another single ticket Stockholm - Tokyo, without cancelling the return ticket Stockholm - Jakarta, Jakarta - Stockholm.

    I didn't check-in for my flight Stockholm - Jakarta, since I was not there and I wanted to avoid 'No Show' passenger. Little did I know that my ticket became invalid because I didn't check-in. I am a frequent flyer due to my job and that was supposed to be my first time flying with Qatar. However, I was left disappointed due to some points below:
    1. I was not notified that failing to check-in for in-bound flight entailed to the cancellation of the ticket.
    2. It was difficult to contact reservation team and/or customer service when the problem arised. There were numbers given to me by Qatar Airways team at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. One of the numbers could only be contacted with Indonesian number, while I have a Swedish number. Another number couldn't be connected. I couldn't get help with Qatar mobile app as well.

    I'm unhappy about this poor service. I had paid the business to do a service but it hadn't been done. I'd like to claim for compensation.

      I am Jafsheerkhan KS, tried to travel in Qatar Airways flight QR 2, from London Heathrow To Calicut on 25 june 2022, its Connection through Doha, but during the time of Departure I cancelled my travel for some health issue, but I lost my two check in Luggages No. O[protected] and O[protected] . it include my valuable Certificates and other important documents. I already registered complaints in heathrow Airport, still I didnt recieved my Luggages yet, I request you to take an immediate action and please inform me on urgent basis

        I had cancelled the ticket Booking reference No. (PNR):J4O4PT from Riyadh to Bangalore and Back on[protected]. The refund amount is SAR 3821.00. The payment for the ticket was made through my Bank Debit Card. The refund amount has not been credited to my bank account so far. Kindly expedite the issue and confirm.
        It is almost two months since the ticket was cancelled. So far the refund amount has not be received, in spite of the requests sent.

          I left from Brazil to Bangkok June 9th, arrived in Bangkok June 11th, my luggage wasn’t there, there was a delay. At the airport they gave me a form to fill and said that I should receive my luggage between 24-48 hours, I received it almost 4 days later, on june 14th (on my file was saying that my luggage was lost since 10th, even before I arrive on my final destination). They said I would have my expenses paid as I didn’t have things to wear, I bought a couple of things and sent all the bills by email, on June 23rd the company answered me saying that Qatar Airways offered me an amount of 150USD as a reimbursement (which isn’t a lot AT ALL already, just the fact that there was a delay to receive my luggage, the stress and having to go out and buy things, just for this they should be paying something already, plus the things that I had to buy…) since then I sent 3 emails trying contact and asking which information they need to give me the reimbursement and I NEVER received an answer. It’s been more than one month that everything happened, and almost one month that they sent me ANYTHING about it, and I still didn’t get answers.

            I travelled from Seattle USA to Bangalore via Qatar Airways QR 720 from Seattle to Doha and then QR 572 from Doha to Bangalore on 3rd Jul. However the flight from Seattle to Doha was delayed and I missed the connecting Flight to Bangalore. So Qatar airways arranged my trip via Bombay through QR 556 and then Vistara airways from Bombay to Bangalore. However, I did not get my 1 Baggage at Bombay airport. I checked with Qatar airways and they mentioned the baggage was not picked up from Doha. I registered a complaint in Bombay airport.

            The Baggage tag details are

            Till date I have not received my baggage and it is 4 days now. I am extremely disappointed with this terrible experience with Qatar airways. I specifically planned Qatar airways on my return leg while taking Lufthansa to USA from Bangalore. This now makes me believe that I should not consider this airline further. Request that the baggage be traced and delivered asap to my address which has been provided in the complaint
            Hello was there any update? They've now lost my bag too and I am going to be taking some action if I don't get it back in the next two days.

              Dear Sir/Madam,

              I travelled with my family from Manchester (UK) to Trivandrum via Doha on Sunday 3rd July, landed in Trivandrum the next day, 4th July. We had checked in 4 bags, but on arrival received only 2 bags. I had filled in the complaint form for the missing two bags at the airport before going to my destination. Now its been more than 48hrs since we landed and no news of the bags. I called baggage service at Trivandrum airport, but they have no status update about it yet.

              We are missing important items, like the formula milk and nappies for my 3yrd old, my wife’s clothes, my son’s sports equipment (cricket bat, pads, gloves, helmet etc...). So we are unable to travel around without these.

              I had booked cricket training sessions for my son, but without his sport equipment he is unable to start these sessions.

              I tried the live chat available in your website, whoever comes to chat from your end apologises and transfers the chat to the baggage service, but then nothing happens. I’ve wasted my time on these chats thrice now, always goes quiet after the transfer, no updates. Poor service by Qatar.

              There are no contact numbers provided for calling your help centres for these complaints, that I why I’m writing this email to you.

              I’ve attached two screenshots baggage status taken from your app, which shows the bag tags which have been delayed. This is the first time I’m travelling by Qatar and it turned out to be very bad experience, delays in take-off from Manchester and from Doha and then this missing baggage after late arrival at Trivandrum.

              Request you to send my bags to my address provided asap. Appreciate if you could provide a quick response.

              Hello I'm just wondering if there has been any update on this? They've lost my bag too and I don't get any proper response from their Chennai staff. I'm going to take some serious actions and want to know if people such as you have received their baggages or not.

                Terrible experience with Qatar Airways. PNR - PW9IVB.

                Paid Rs. 1, 05, 711 for an upgrade to business class from BLR to IAD on Feb 19th, 2022 - amount got debited from account, but upgrade was not successful. Then the second time, used Credit Card to purchase the upgrade which was successful. The

                State Bank of India says the online banking transaction is settled with the merchant. Almost 4 months now, and I still haven’t received the refund of duplicated transaction of Rs, 1, 05, 711.

                Over 30 phone calls, multiple emails to the customer care, yet no update from them. Every time I call them, I am told to check back after 48 hours, and this is the same response I have been getting for almost 4 months. It’s annoying and frustrating how Qatar Airways has been holding my money for so long and not refunding it back.
                The worst part is they don’t arrange a callback/email and you have to call every time and explain the same issue.

                Attached the transaction snapshot, response from bank. Consumer Complaints Forum, please look into this issue and help me get back my amount at the earliest. Thank you.

                  This is regarding our International flight from SFO to AMD (which was supposed to be Mumbai):
                  Journey start date: June 16, 2022
                  Booking reference# 27SW9U with Qatar
                  All 4 passengers' last name is the same.

                  To say this was one of the most chaotic and stressful international flights will be an understatement. It was supposed to be fun & memorable for our family.

                  2 key issues:
                  1. No one from the airlines was aware if our final destination will be Mumbai (as originally scheduled) or Ahmedabad or somewhere else (yes, it was that bad). At each connecting airport, we got different info!

                  2. Even after multiple confirmations, we are yet to receive any of our 8 checked-in bags. Worst, we're yet to receive any calls or updates even after almost 5 days!

                  Just a heads up this is a huge rant, but with the nightmare, we are going through, this is the least.

                  At the SFO airport, we got rerouted to SEA instead of JFK. Also, we were told our final destination has now been modified to Ahmedabad, only for us to find out at the Seattle that it was sure going to be Mumbai as originally planned (we were relieved). We had another 2 families joining from JFK and all bookings were done from Mumbai for marriage, religious gatherings, short & quick vacation with family joining in Mumbai to receive us and we directly going from there. So much for our memorable and fun trip!

                  All the plans were in the air as we were not sure where we are finally going to end up. Also, with each re-route, we were unable to receive Vegetarian Jain Meal as originally confirmed because of it being less than '24 hours' with the new route! With 2 young kids and such a huge delay & re-routes, you can imagine frustration & anxiety. Add minimal food and hope you can imagine our state of mind & body.

                  On arrival at Doha, to our surprise, we were told our next flight is to Ahmedabad! With no calling facility and they themselves trying to figure out for an hour+, the chaos continued. They told us that it was best for us & best they can do. We were being supportive & patient. We were also assured of bags already re-tagged and on the same flight. I kept asking to confirm & we were assured.

                  We did NOT receive a single bag at Ahmedabad airport. They weren't able to trace. We were again wrongly assured to get a call once the office opens at 10 am. The phone number provided was invalid. I am yet to get any information on my bags from local team.

                  We had all stuff in the bags for marriage & one of the most important religious functions. Not to mention everything for vacation & what family urgently needed. We had the bare minimum with us with a 7 kg handbag limit & us required to carry some food because of religious restrictions.

                  Since arrival, every few hours I have called & tried online or other options, but only in vain. I do NOT trust the local airport authority considering the way it has been handled so far. I will like someone to urgently help us trace the bags & get them ASAP. In today's world, it should be so easy to at least locate bags & know when we will receive them.

                  It seems no one cares as yet to get a single call or message from the Qatar baggage team even after multiple escalation & assurance from other teams. NO one is giving their direct number and the only number given at the airport is invalid, really!

                  Our complete trip has been a total mess with us spending the entire time just trying to find various avenues to get our bags or having nightmares about it. All our local bookings are canceled. I just hope we're just one unlucky one & no one else faced such anxiety attacks on their trip.

                  We will really like:
                  1. fair evaluation & compensation for complete chaos & bookings,
                  2. a refund of the flight.
                  3. Importantly bags traced & handed over asap.
                  4. Baggage delay compensation for stuff we had to buy

                  I am sure NO one will like a similar experience for any of their trips, forget a vacation your family was looking forward to.

                  Hello, I'm just wondering if your bags were found and returned? They've now lost my bag too and I'm going to take some actions. I would like to know if people such as you had any luck in getting your bags back.
                  I did finally receive my bags, but they never contacted or were reachable. Even after delivering the bags, they are not reachable nor responding about reimbursement of damage, delayed bag & expenses.

                  Nor I see any response on this consumer complaint

                    Hi there,

                    I would like to lodge a complaint about the unacceptable experience I had with the call centre recently.

                    On May 21st, I had to amend my departure date, so I have unknowingly requested a refund for booking reference WUE5YD

                    On May 22nd, I contacted the call centre asking to reverse the refund request, the operator explained that when the request for a refund is actioned it is unreversible and the only option available was to purchase a new ticket, which I did on the same day – booking reference LXLAHD.

                    On June 3rd, I contacted the call centre to check on the status of my refund, the operator at that moment stated: “THE REFUND HAS FAILED, TICKET IS STILL ACTIVE”, I several times asked the operator to confirm that I had 2 tickets active for the same day and he confirmed that. At that point, I authorised the operator to cancel booking LXLAHD. After the conversation ended, I received an email stating that booking WUE5YD was now also refunded!

                    BASICALLY, I HAD NO MORE TICKETS

                    On June 3rd, I have recontacted the call centre AGAIN and spoke with CHARCHITHA who has informed me that she would have lodged an internal investigation and I was meant to CALL BACK AGAIN in 7 days to check on the status of the investigation – THIS APPEARS TO BE COMPLETELY INCORRECT AS THERE WAS NO INVESTIGATION MADE.

                    On June 9th, I called back the call centre twice and after a very long argumentative conversation I was able to speak with a SUPERVISOR that the only solution he had for me was to expedite the refund of the booking LXLAHD

                    AS OF TODAY, I STILL DON’T HAVE A TICKET AND THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE IS TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE FOR A MUCH HIGHER PRICE

                    WUE5YD – cost A$1000 – refunded
                    LXLAHD – cost A$1600 – not yet refunded
                    New Booking – cost A$2100 – to be purchased

                    Could someone please help me here as this is a total disaster, I am yet to pay almost double the amount I originally spent and I have no money until the second refund is completed. By then there is a chance that the flight is fully booked.

                    I have already purchased a ticket for the rest of my family to fly on the 6th of July (KQJFW7) as we relocating to Italy permanently and I MUST find a solution for my mum to be on the same flight

                    THIS IS A COMPLETE FAILURE ON QATAR BEHALF, I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND I REGRET USING THIS AIRLINE

                      I booked an air ticket with Qatar airways on 23rd May. The first transaction failed but the amount has been debited from the account. But I didn’t get any mail or messages for the failed transaction. The second transaction was successful and got the ticket. When I contacted the Qatar airways customer care they said they have only received one payment (ie second) and told me to contact the bank. When I contacted the bank they asking for email from Qatar Airways stating that the transaction was failure. It’s been almost 1 month I haven’t get any mail from Qatar airways after many calls and emails.

                          I was travelling from Toronto to Kolkata India and return.. The outgoing flight was fine. Before leaving Canada I talked with the airlines few time what I have to do during return as their system provided me a 26 hrs layover in DOHA for which I had booked a hotel. They repeatedly said that as I am fully vaccinated and hold a Canadian passport, I don't have to do anything else.
                          In India when I asked them the same question before I left, they told that I have to register through the GOVT. Website Ethiraj. When I did, the website asked me for a hotel reservation done through discover Qatar. I call Qatar airways again.
                          They told me at least 6 times that my hotel reservation (done by me) is fine.
                          All I have to do is to send the reservation to discoverQatar—they provided me the e mail address – and I did accordingly.
                          However at the airport they Denied boarding in Kolkata (on 13th April) as my hotel was not booked through Discover Qatar website. They forced me to cancel the ticked and made me by a new ticket to fly on 14th of April . This cost me ~$1700. As this flight didn't have a lay over I took the same flight from Doha to Toronto. In spite of this they made ma buy the whole ticket, not the Kolkata Doha segment

                          Although it is airlines inefficiency and they repeatedly provided me with MISINFORMATION and forced me to buy a new ticket, they didn't accept the responsibility. Furthermore, they could have also just changed CCU-DOH ticket from 13th to 14th April, as flight from DOH to YYZ remained the same.
                          Although, I asked for this – you didn’t do and forced me to buy a new ticket.

                          So they charged me twice for the same ticket – this is an AWEFUL business practice – almost close to a scam.

                          When I wrote to them (CAS[protected]K4C3S4 ), I get a `formed' reply

                            I traveled Qatar Airways from Chicago to DOHA on QR726 and Doha to New Delhi on QR578 on March 21, 2022. Only food options available was halal food. Me being a Hindu, why was I forced to eat halal food?

                              Hello Sir/Madam,

                              I booked a flight ticket (PNF: SUZDVQ) for the below passengers in Qatar Airways on 04/04/2021. I have cancelled that ticket around the end of April month. Qatar airways agreed to pay the full amount (5, 153 USD) and the customer service representative asked me to wait for 60 Days from the date of cancellation. So far I haven't received my ticket cancellation amount yet. This amount is huge to me. I need a help in resolving my problem and get my refund.

I have contacted you and was told on the the the 18 March by Kaja Ref 112186 that the matter would be rectified.                                   In Cochin international airport check in counter 20 ( web check in baggage drop) on 28/03/2022 at 7:39am the ground staff at this counter was communicating rudely to me. As i require quarantine at doha I have provided hotel booking by company, i showed her the booking reference and the mail with all the details which is required. But she refused to give the boarding pass claiming that she needs a certain type of format. After requesting by company and received the same. Then again I showed it and she declined it . She needs a image of DQ hotels in that. She was treating me like I was not even a human being. I request the authorities to take action against these non-customer friendly staffs for the growth.

                                    I have been trying to get my problem resolved since January and there has been NO help from Qatar airways at all . Every time I call or correspond, I get have to reexpain the entire issue, every one is very polite but NOTHING happens.

                                    This is the issue that I would like help with:

                                    June 2020 : I booked a ticket in June 2020 and the flight was cancelled due to Covid. I was given a travel voucher number[protected]attachment Prasanna VelamuriVoucher1.pdf) in the amount of Rs. 376227

                                    21st Aprl 2021 : I then booked a ticket PNR QDDHZD (on the Qatar webpage) with the above voucher and received another voucher for the remaining amount(attachment Prasanna VelamuriVoucher2)

                                    I could not use this ticket to fly on May 6th 2021 due to restrictions on Indian passport holders by the United stat government. I requested Qatar airway(by phone) to cancel to leave it as an open ticket for use later.

                                    Jan 2022 : On the 28th of January I called Qatar airway on the phone to request that the open ticket be changed to a travel voucher as the amount on the open ticket was not enough for me to book a business class ticket.

                                    6th March 2022 : After following up for 6 weeks and many phone calls I was issued another voucher[protected]attachment Prasanna VelamuriVoucher3).

                                    However the amount on this voucher is Rs. 309364

                                    There is a total of Rs. 66863 less than the amount I spent on my original ticket.

                                    I have spoken to staff at Qatar airways on the phone many times and they all agreed that they realize there is an issue and have contacted the finance department but the issue has not been resolved.

                                    PLEASE HELP!!!

                                    I don't know what more I can do. I have spent atleast 14-15 hours on the phone with Qatar airways staff(between waiting, being on hold and explaining the problem), I have written to customer care, I have complained on the website but nobody has been able to help me.

                                      Staff was so rude, I made a mistake but it was small and the lady and a male staff talked extremely rude. There was a point I started crying as they were shouting in front of whole passengers. It was so humiliating. If I made a mistake there is way to talk by politely but ground staff was so racist, one senior member abuse me about my ethnicity and he shouted for 10 minutes because I'm young and I was horrified i couldn't say a word. Worst service from ground staff. Couldn't think of this worst day. Will never take Qatar airways again. First they should work on customer service specially in Mumbai.

                                        I booked a flight months in prior to travel internationally to india from United States. It was supposed to be a flight with 2 stops one in Doha and the other in Boston. Randomly my flight was updated and a stop was added in Chicago after Boston and I called Qatar airways customer service multiple times and didn’t receive any kind of proper assistance. They disconnected my call after keeping me on hold for 2 hours and the other time told me to talk to American Airlines because that flight was operated by them which was so misguiding because I booked my flight through Qatar airways. The customer agents I spoke to were rude, one name I remember was Fathima from the Qatar office. I was sent back and forth to Qatar airways and American Airlines and still don’t have an answer from them. I filled a complaint on their website and still haven’t gotten a response. I demand some kind of response regarding this or I will file another case with the International court of law. This is just pathetic service by Qatar airways.
