I purchased a LG Nexus 5, 32GB Mobile from Quikr as they were selling a refurbished handset in good condition.
Considering that Quikr themselves were selling it with description that it is refurbished but QC checked and in good condition, I opted for the same.
I got the delivery on 19th October 2016 (Wednesday). As I was busy during the week, I opened the mobile on 22nd October (Saturday) evening.
Everything looked and worked fine until I inserted the SIM. It would not work!!
On further checking, it was discovered that IMEI number was '0'. That means, mobile would work fine. WiFi will work but SIM card could not be recognized. Thus, I cannot make any calls or receive and calls, text messages or use DATA.
Also, Quikr had enclosed an Onsite Warranty card for any complains/problems & valid for 6 months. We thought of sending a mail to Onsite Go as mentioned in the catalogue.
However, we did not receive any reply on Monday 24th October. So, I called their helpline number on 25th Tuesday. Their representative asked to provide additional details, which we provided via email. Next day, I was supposed to learn from Onsite go that the “product was not registered with them by Quikr” and that I had to speak to Quikr directly.
Quikr had 7 day replacement/return policy.
So on 6th day, Wednesday, I spoke to Quikr on[protected]select 1 for English & then 2 for Mobile)
As per the recording, a solution expert would help you with the problem. I was asked for additional details which I provided via email. They would get back to me soon. Nothing happened for next couple of days. No reply via email nor anyone from Quikr called. Whenever I called them, they would say that their QC team would revert and we will inform you. Nothing happened pre Diwali. They only promised that someone will revert back post Diwali on 2nd November. I waited for their reply till 6th and called them again on 7th November to get the reply that they are just waiting for an approval from their QC team and the mobile would be replaced with another one. Same reply continued for 2 more days.
On 10th November, I was informed that QC team has denied of any problem with the mobile and that it was working fine while it was dispatched and nothing can be done about it.
I tried explaining them that since very first day o[censored]sage, the mobile works fine in all respect except that the SIM is not recognized and that we cannot make any calls or receive any calls. The instrument is useless for us as the basic purpose of having a mobile is defeated.
We also took the mobile to LG authorized service center to see if they can fix the EMIE number which would enable us to use the mobile. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. This means, the problem existed right from the time we got the delivery of the refurbished handset.
I am not getting any reply from Quikr in any form – email or telephone.
Also, their invoice clearly mentions 6 months’ warranty by Onsite Go and also mentions 7 day return policy. Although we have registered our complain with Quikr within 7 days, they are denying refund or replacement. Everything from Quikr is verbal and so it seems to be a scam in itself.
I have spoken to 4 different so called “solution experts” on the following number
