Return request refused by ShopClues
This is with reference to my Order No. 18500045 dated
15 Aug. 2014. I placed the order on www.shopclues.com
for “Bath Towel Pack of 2” offered by BMWC, Ahmedabad, Gujrat. A Packet was
delivered to me on 18 Aug. 2014 but the same contained only one towel. I raised
a return request No. 406689, under the “10 days
hassle free return” policy of the website, for missing item, very same
day along with the snapshot of the page displaying the description of the item.
Besides the auto acknowledgement from the ShopClues Support Team, I received an
email from Mr. Ankush, as under:

reference to your query regarding missing quantity or part against order no.

We apologize
for the inconvenience caused to you.We are coordinating with the courier
partners as well as with the Merchant.
Meanwhile, kindly
confirm that the packet received by you was in intact condition, packed with
shrink wrap and ShopClues packaging.
Also, send us the images of the Shopclues box
highlighting the condition at the time of delivery so that we can expedite further.
I replied to this email immediately with image of
the screen showing description of material but to receive another email from Mr.
Sipratim as below:

We apologize
for the inconvenience caused to you against order.
We value your
relationship with us and would like to offer you 50 Clues Bucks which will be
credited to your account after your confirmation. Request you to please
acknowledge. Once we receive confirmation from your end, we will credit Clues
Bucks which will reflect in 3-4 working days in your account. You may keep the
product as well with you as we are not arranging reverse pickup for the same.
I replied to this mail as follows:
Sorry, I fail
to understand that why should accept 50 Clues Bucks? Don’t I deserve the
product I have paid for??
Kindly
arrange to reverse pickup and make full refund or else arrange to send the
missing item.
But to my surprise, I received from Mr. Supratim the
below reply:

Based on your concern, we would like to inform you that
the product which has been ordered by you is the same which has been delivered
to you. Therefore, we will not be able to fulfill your request.
My reply to this mail was:
Dear Mr.
Supratim,
Please note that your listing clearly mentions that the
offer was for 2 pieces of towel and I have been given only 1 piece. You have
also offered 50 Clues Bucks to compensate the same. Now if you try to back off
from your commitment then I shall be left with no other option than to stop
dealing with ShopClues and raise this matter in public forums on the net.
Mr. Supratim replied to my threatening mail as
under:

days in your account.
I was appalled looking at the changing colours of
Mr. Supratim. Firstly he apologized and offered 50 Clues Bucks, then he backed
off saying that I was given the correct product and then again he took a U-turn
and offered 40 Clues Bucks. I was very annoyed at this and wrote back as below:
Mr. Supratim,
Is this a
joke or are you playing some sort of game with me? Earlier you offered 50 Clues
Bucks by email sent on Aug 20 at 04:26
PM then you said you will not be able to fulfill my request and now you are
offering 40 Clues Bucks for inconvenience caused to me. What exactly are you
trying to do?
The merchant has failed to supply the product in full as offered on your
website and as per your return policy I demand full refund and reverse pickup.
I shall be forced to publicise the matter on various online forums if the same
is not done within 24 hours.
I have not received
any reply to my above mail as yet and bringing this to notice of you all so
that to be aware and careful of the unethical practices being followed by the
online shopping portal.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We request you to share the order details with us so that we can get this checked & revert. For other assistance, reach us at shopclues.com/help.
