My skoda rapid (ka-02-mg-950) bought in jan 2012 from vinayak skoda, bangalore & has run 42k kms. the car is very well maintained with regular services coupled with general check up on a regular basis. at the time of delivery there was no extended warranty provided even after insisting for it, the reason being that rapid was a new introduction to indian market and the company was yet to introduce extended warranty. last week while i was driving, the car suddenly pulled up and was not accelerating beyond 30km/hr with engine vibrating violently. had to get the vehicle towed to vinayak service center in okalipuram. i am now being advised that fuel injectors are to be replaced due to contaminated fuel. 90% of the times the car gets refuelled in shell petrol bunk alongwith my other car (swift dzire) and, the estimate to get them replaced is 30k. if i was provided with the extended warranty at the time of vehicle delivery, i am sure it would have taken care of this unexpected damage. having gone through several consumer forums/complaint boards, i notice that skoda has a production issue with fuel injectors. so, the reason beind the damage due to contaminated fuel does not seem to be genuine, rather a known technical issue from the maker. this is seriously making me re think to continue my relationship with skoda india, especially due to the quality of after sales service.

Skoda rapids manufactured initially all had injector issues, me too had a injector failure, skoda was kind enough to replace it but i had shell out 7000 as a part of labour charges and other stuff.You may need to push your service provider a bit more.All the best.
i am facing same injector failure issue now. i have replaced 2 injector already now 3rd injector gone. since it is 5 year old vehicle skoda asking me to pay rs 25000 now. i am not sure when will 4th injector will go away. i have asked them to do free of cost but no use. please suggest me. please dont buy skoda. contact me at siva.[protected]@gmail.com

    I have been using my skoda rapid for almost 1 and a half years and it has proved to be a painful journey for me. On 3rd of august while i was driving to my office my car broke down at a traffic signal. My car (rapid diesel automatic) was in parking mode while waiting at a traffic light and when the light turned green i tried to switch it to drive mode but my gearbox stopped responding. after trying for 5 - 10 mins i contacted the skoda road side assistance for help. My car was later towed to nawab motors in noida around 3pm. I contacted nawab motors and like always they did not attend to my car on a urgent basis and they told me that they will tell me the problem by next day afternoon (4th august). After no response till afternoon i contacted them to ask regarding my car problem, they told me that was some kind of liquid damage in the gearbox. Then they said i have to wait till monday to know whether the situation will be covered under the warranty or not.

    The gearbox is supposed to be a sealed unit then how come it has been damaged by liquid. Before buying this skoda car i received many negative opinions from people and forums regarding after sales services of skoda but as i was assured by the sales peoples at skoda that i will not be facing any kind of problem as far as after sales services are concerned. I remember i asked repeatedly that whether this dsg gearbox would prove to be a reliable gearbox or not and the sales person assured me that this gearbox is the best in the automatic car range and will not give any kind of problems in the future and even if it does it will be covered by skoda warranty. Its only been one and a half years and my gearbox is already giving me problems. i will not pay anything out of my pocket for a thing which is supposed to be covered under warranty. From the last three days im paying daily around 800 to 900rs to cab services only for commuting to my office and back home. This is not the first issue i am facing regarding skoda services. There had been end number of issues which cant be stated on an email. Skoda should provide a backup vehicle if it takes so much of time to get the car issues sorted. Other car brands like tata, maruti, ford, bmw etc provide backup vehicle to their customers if the workshop is taking a lot of time to resolve their car issue. As far as nawab motors is concerned i have faced issues with them in the past and i have never ever heard anyone saying positive things about nawab motors. Nawab motors is now asking me to pay 65000rs for a thing which is supposed to be done for free under warranty

        I own Skoda_Rapid 1.6 TDI which was purchased in Nov-2014. I noticed emission and coil orange light blinking. Immediately I called the Skoda service center in Chennai (Gurudev-Motors) they told to bring the car immediately to service station. I gave the vehicle to Gurudev Motors on 16th July 2016.

        On 16th July 2016 Skoda service center advisor (Gurudev-Motors) said there is fuel adulteration issue in my vehicle and the same has been informed to Skoda technical team.

        On 19th July 2016 Skoda service center (Gurudev-Motors) issued a big replacement part list for Rs.2.84. Which covers the whole fuel system parts.

        On 21st July 2016 Skoda service center (Gurudev-Motors) told, we have received reply from SKODA Technical team to clean the entire fuel system in your vehicle and to proceed further work in your vehicle.

        On 25th July 2016 I received a mail from Skoda service center (Gurudev-Motors) that, we have received an approval from SKODA for replacing the Fuel delivery Unit, High Pressure Pump, Injector & Fuel Rail parts under goodwill warranty for your vehicle.

        For that
        Total estimated cost - Rs.302774.15
        Goodwill Warranty Approval - Rs.205734.00
        Balance- Rs.97040.15

        It is a pure manufacturing defect and it is more about design, reliability and durability of SKODA car.
        If SKODA is supporting for all major parts, why not SKODA is not supporting for minor parts and service cost and asking customer to bare Balance- Rs.97040.15

        Having said this, I sincerely hope that your technical team will diagnose the issue in detail and close the issue soon.
        From the financial perspective, we believe that Skoda India will bear the cost under WARRANTY.

          I have tried to do service of my Car which is due during Dec' 2016.I was informed that due to floods the services wont be available four to five months. Also one of the service station has been closed in Chennai.

          I was forced to delay my service and in the mean time my car has developed clutch & gear problem.

          Now after coming from abroad, I was shocked to notice my Skoda Rapid Vehicle bought during 2013 has developed major techinical snag/ manufacturing problems.

          I have left my vehcile with Gurudev Motor Service Station, Guindy, Chennai on 28.07.16 for undertaking repairs like clutch, gear etc.

          I have requested the person in-charge to confirm the budget amount of service for a final confirmation from my end.

          Initially I was informed that it will costing around around 63, 000/-. Again I was informed it will go around Rs. 91, 000/- + 14.5 %

          Also i was informed that it will be confirmed further after removal of the Engine.

          I am worried regarding the huge expenses charged by Gurudev Motors upto 10-15% of the car price for one time service for a car price tagged around 8-9 lakhs.

          I also doubt the reliability of skoda manufacturing as the clutch and gear problem has arised within a span of 3 years for the car manufactured only in 2013.

          I totally lost hope in Skoda Brand Cars and doubt the credibility of skoda manufacturing as the cars are not reliable .

          I am one of the totally dissatisfied customer with Skoda Car & their service feasibility.


          In this regard, I kindly request the Skoda- India to intervene and extend support for repairing/ replacement of major issues viz clutch and gear box

            I already complain on feb 12 2016, bellow is my complain and we received you comment, after that jmd kandivali called me and from that time till now i am just going their for repair they do say we repaired your car and still i am facing the problem (door rattling sound, aircutting, sound from music instrument, rain water coming in). seriously this time its crossing our patients. piece of scrap i have owned from you. i request to look in this matter urgently i have also complained them in jmd even to you also.
            My car is as it is as it was with senator. i am fedup of this

            I have bought the car skoda rapid in 2014 july (mh 02 dn 3311) after some months rattling sound and air noise stared coming from all the doors and its getting very irritated, i have complain several time to service center and i have their job cards too, they take my car for repair and always after 2 to 3 weeks they give me back doing something on my car and say me that they have did this and that. and after few days the same issue with door come again. i have given them my car many time for solution but no solution i am facing this issue from last 1 1/2 year. senator motor top officials (like generall manger) knows about my problem still nothing is done. i have also complained to skoda auto india they respond my email saying that the service center (senator motor) will contact me and then after they contact me the recall my car and same story goes again. even in the feedback department of skoda india contact me twice for this after repeated complain of senator but after some time she stop following on it.
            I am very tired of this skoda

              I bought skoda rapid mh 12 ke 7028 from pashankar auto in pune (Dealership shut shop later) and in addition to standard 2 year, warranty, i also purchased and paid for extended 2 year warranty (4 yrs in total). Apparently the extended 2 years never reflected in their system and my warranty expired in sep 2016. Am in touch with viraj skoda pune for this and though i am being told that needful is being done, almost after 1.5 months of follow up, i don't have confirmation on the extension being in place. I am being penalised for pashankar auto's error/dishonesty/inefficiency. I have supplied the invoice and proof of payment for additional warranty also to viraj skoda and skoda customer care. Didn't expect such delay from a company that claims to keep customers interest in mind.

              Does not matter, I took warranty and any problem excuse is 'it is not covered' today i need to spent again as they say that even 'Starter' is not covered. Vehicle has starting problem since long
              It's so true That Skoda extended warranty is a waste of time and money. Everything and every
              part for them is not covered. The dealerships look for any excuse to avoid any repairs under
              extended warranty and Skoda refuses to answer or enlighten the customers.

              My Superb's lower trunk lid falls on ones head clearly indicating that the Flap Hinge needs replacement
              but they pass it off calling it a Shock absorber as these are mentioned in the exclusion list of the Extended
              Warranty document. Now isn't it SIMPLY CLEVER...

                Hi, my name is rajan singh. i own a rapid tdi. my car was damaged badly in a accident in up. given it for repair at lucknow workshop (visual car). after a month i got my car back but it was having several issues. the quality of parts used were so bad that it looks like second hand parts. they used wiper of so bad quality that it damaged the wind screen of car. now since i am in leaving in mumbai and car was got repaired in up (was on tour) i don't know whom to complain. i asked autobahn skoda service center kurla (where all my car service are done) but they didn't attend major issues. my car is in extended warranty and the repair was done in may 2016. kindly help me to get my issues resolved.

                  Vehicle no ka51 mc 2623 model 2012 it has run 73k km. the parking or down time is more than 60 days in service station (stagered). for the above reasons.
                  On 30.06.2016 coming from some destination on nh4 at an speed of 100 kmper hour. suddenly vehicle dropped its speed to 40 km/hour with huge vibration. i was above to hit by a rear truck. luckly escaped. contacted rsa (skoda road side assistance) and the reply was you need to pay to toe your car and need to confirm by message or mail. it was heavy raining and was with family. sood inside the car for two hours and toed the vehicle with the help of national high way patroling vehicle assistance
                  When cusotmer is in trouble they ask about payment first than to provide assistance. explained these issues to the service delaer on next day till date no information from them. vehicle is parked at home as a show piece

                    This is sharmil shah owning "skoda rapid abn-at plus1.5 tdi cr / mh02dw-5926.
                    I purchased this vehicle because of brand name"skoda". but i am unable to understand the quality parameters of skoda.
                    In one year i faced a difficulty of battery which was replaced because the car is under warranty.
                    And now the car is in service station of jmd (kandivali - mumbai) because of some un-identified problem of auto gear shift.
                    I had bought this vehicle thinking that it has the same dsg gear box which is most successful in skoda superb, yeti or audi.
                    It has been almost 4 days and service center is not able to identify the problem.
                    Being skoda it is a shame on such a big german brand to define problem of either software or hardware.
                    I travel almost 120 k. m every day, because my factory is far from where i stay.
                    I have been spending on taxi and getting frustrated because of continuous rain.

                      I am very disappointed by the ac of this car...
                      It is very suprising that ac cooling coil leaked and the service center employe said ac cooling coil will be replace by break down in every 2-3 years...

                        The services are not up to the mark of the skoda. if we talk about the last two years the car has the same problem repeatedly which the engineers are not able to resolve and keep on delivering the car back in the same condition saying that it ha been resolved.in these past 2 years the car have been in the work shop for more than a years time which is not there in their record as they make fake entries too, even still the car from past 3 months is there in the work shop and no sort of botheration is there with them to return it back.
                        They have charged me several times saying that some part has been changed or labour. they have been looting the customers and just making the money only. the local owners do not answer the phone calls at all which sometimes the staff of the company asks as to call on their individual number.

                          I am the owner of the vehicle skoda laura bearing regn. no. tn-07-bu-5874 with engine no.0435621 and chassis no. lca110hdb09033025. the vehicle developed smoke during driving and was given for repair with gurudev motors, guindy industrial estate. i was informed that ecm has failed and that replacement was necessary. as per the instructions from the service station the ecm was replaced and the 4th service was done. it has taken one month for the service station to deliver the vehicle on the ground that "spares was not available". for the parts i have paid a total sum of rs.1, 31, 773/- plus service charges. the vehicle which was given under job card dated 25/05/2016 and was delivered on 15/06/2016. after service, i had taken the vehicle for a long drived to bangaluru on 06/07/2016. the vehicle didn't have sufficient pick-up. i immediately contacted the service station at chennai who said that the vehicle should be checked at the nearest service station at bangalore.in the meantime, the vehicle was idle for a day and on the next day i. e. on 08/07/2016 again fumes started appearing from the bannett. i was stranded on the road and the vehicle had to be towed to tafe skoda at hosur road, bangalore.

                          Now, i am driven from pillar to post. on one hand service agent skoda at chennai says that the defect could be rectified in bangalore itself. on the other hand the service agent at bangalore says that the parts were replaced in chennai and that the vehicle should be taken to gurudev motors for replacement of defective parts and rectification of defects. also according to tafe skoda at bangalore the towing charges will be approximately rs.15, 000/-.

                          At this juncture, i wish to point out that i don't go with gurudev motors at chennai or tafe skoda at bangalore but i go with skoda india service. is this the type of service that a customer could expect from skoda?. taking into consideration that i was already without vehicle for almost a month, the same defect has appeared and also the defect is dangerous and hazardous (the fumues emanating from the engine while driving which may ultimately result in fire). according to me, some basic defect which caused the ecm failure on the last occasion has not been rectified. with patience i hereby request you to help me to get my vehicle duly repaired.

                          I am a practicing advocate in chennai and there is no response from either of your service agent, i will be constrained to initiate legal action in this regard

                            To whom so ever this may concern

                            I pavan Mankani gave my rapid for a regular service and wiper blade changes at pune wagholi Viraj skoda, I took a pick up and drop service, while giving the driver checked the car and marked for scratches and damages, the only major damage was left tail lamp which I asked them to replace, . When my car came back from service centre I saw a very big scratch on the windscreen, immediately I asked the driver to call the concerened advisor Nitin to address the issue and asked him to take the car back to the showroom, after one day since he was on off I get a call from Viraj skoda saying that the scratch was already there and that I had to accept the car back, for that I refused and told them
                            Till this problem is not rectified I will not accept the car back. They also took an advance 8000 from me to fix the car and were very rude and said till I don't pay the balance they will not return the car and will not fix the scratch on the windscreen.
                            As of now the car is still with them and no one has even bothered to call me with any solution.
                            Please help me regarding this issue as I have no problem with skoda and always praise the car, but this treatment and blaming me for something I haven't done is wrong by viraj skoda.

                              Our skoda Rapid Car no- HR13K4488, lift your customer care person due to starting problem. Our complaint No- [protected] dated 04.07.2016 and Car reached at Giriraj Motors Gurgaon on dated 05.07.2016. M/s Giriraj person reply that problem in fuel pump so they change the fuel pump but after two days he says no approval received from skoda. we are suffering due to your service. we have buy this car only 8 month later and 22000 km is running. if the fuel pump stop in 22000 km than how customer buying the skoda car. it is final notice to you and we are going in court for compensation.

                                  I got the Skoda Rapid in the month of Jan 2016 and at that time i got the temporary number which is a chandigarh number and I am living in delhi and the dealer who was fahrenheit skoda - motinagar. They told me that i will get the permanent number in two months however its been now 6 months i havent got anything and moreover the dealer is been closed down permananetly. I have called the toll free number for skoda couple of times and i always get the response that you will get a call in 24 hrs and havent got any call till now. This is the worst service i have ever got and will never go for skoda again. My number is [protected]

                                    I had provided my car for service at jmd kandivali service centre. While giving my car for service the fog lamp was in well condition, i had my self checked it, however when i took the delivery back the left side fog lamp had water in it. For coolant they increased the water in the tank.

                                    They charged me for wheel alignment however its not done properly.

                                    The customer service representative was not having enough knowledge of the overall service.

                                      I purchased my Skoda Superb AT (petrol) about 2 years ago with the registration number HR26 CM 1576 and following are the failures till date:

                                      - Fuel Exhaust
                                      - Suroof (THRICE)
                                      - Gearbox megatronic
                                      - Multi-clutch
                                      - Bluetooth stereo (THRICE)
                                      - Charging point
                                      - Ac vent
                                      - Sideview mirror

                                      Other than this I paid for the extended warranty to Arshia Motors but now the service staion people tell me that it was never registered in their computer and the company Arshia Motors is shut now.

                                      This is literally the worst purchase of my life.

                                        I own a Skoda Rapid Diesel. Car diesel Injuctor was replaced few months back, but now another fuel Injuctor has gone bad. My car is just 4 years old and has only covered 30k km.
                                        We have aleady reported this issue to Skoda India. To which Skoda never bothered to respond.

                                        My question is: Is Skoda so badly manufactured with its frequent breakdowns that it can't even be compared to my 6 years old Maruti ritz, which had never even had any breakdown despite covering 80k km.

                                        Can I expect a quick solution to my frequent car breakdown problem?
