I own a Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI 2012 and have completed 40, 000 Kms on the vehicle.
I was getting the system error on 2nd January 2017, visited the service center and they told me that the EGR cooler has failed.

Question 1: Is this EGR cooler tested for 40, 000 Kms only
Question 2: I have seen the same problem with other SKODA/Volks owners, is Skoda doing anything to resolve.


I was told that, as the services are done regularly (based on the Kms), the service center will approach the management for goodwill approval for getting the EGR cooler replaced, they assured me that it will take 3-4 days to get approval, however, i had to chase them to find the status of my request for 3 WEEKS. IT IS NOW REJECTED.

Question 3: Are there any SLAs in place for Skoda service or it is as per the forums (Scary customer service)?

I insisted on getting the RCA done, but the service center is not aware

Question 4: Do you provide RCA for the issues or it goes unattended/uninformed.

Lastly i was told that it is a case of Adulterated fuel,

Question 5 : Can you please issue guidelines for the fuel that can be used in Skoda, i am staying in India and will get my vehicle re-fueled here not in Czech?
If your vehicles are not tested with Indian fuel, please put a disclaimer.


I do not know the escalation mechanism in Skoda, but i am planning to take legal action.

Determined not to BUY SKODA again.


Let me know in case you are interested in more details or should i assume it is another case of Poor customer service.

    Hello

    My name is Shrenik Lunawat. My car got into an accident in March, 2016 and was repaired by the Saga Automotive (India) Pvt. Ltd. service centre in Jaipur. This was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life.

    First, in the middle of the process of me running circles around the service centre and insurance company, the executive who was handling my case changed. The new executive failed to cooperate and denied everything that the previous executive said and did. Due to this added with the clumsiness they showed when making the estimates, we had to pay approximately Rs. 2, 00, 000/- when we had an insurance policy that was supposed to cost nothing for such incidents. As the facts unfolded I found out that the reason was complete incompetence of skoda service centre in doing the only job that they exist for. They did not provide damage details and repair estimates of the external BLATANTLY visible damaged parts to the insurance company when giving the initial estimate. So, naturally the insurance company thought that those damages were caused after the car was sent for repair and not because of the accident. (attached is the copy of the correspondence between skoda and the insurance company) Skoda declined our request to change/repair these parts for free since insurance company declined their request due to their own clumsiness.

    Now, it had been several months that this argument was going on for and we needed our car back. So I took what I could get and got my car repaired paying whatever was necessary for the functioning of the car myself. Upon the return I got the car music system checked and found out that it was damaged because water entered the system. Now, my car's accident had nothing to do with water. The only reason water would've entered the music system was that a car with a broken windshield was left by skoda out in the open without any cover on it.

    The half-hearted repair by skoda was completed on 23rd December 2016 (9 months after the took the car in). This experience was least expected when I bought the car since the brand name of skoda is well reputed. This service centre and it's executive who dealt in our case were utterly useless and inadeaquate for the job.

    Even the insurance company says in the email " ... could've been easily claimed if it was seen damaged. It appears that estimates were not prepared with due diligence."

    Till this date skoda denies all these claims and I as a consumer am helpless. I wish this complaint causes some change in the way the service centre conducts its business and gets me the Refund that I deserve along with the Repair of the parts that were supposed to be repaired if things went the right way.

      Kindly note that I have purchased Skoda Rapid Ambition from your authorized dealer Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited from its Showroom at 84/1A, Topsia Road, (South), Trinity Plaza Building, Ground Floor, Kolkata- 700046. The details of the car are as follows :

      Though I had booked the car on 25.01.2016 and had specifically requested to the dealer to provide me with a car manufactured in the year 2016, but the dealer had forcibly compelled to accept a car manufactured in the year 2015 on 15.02.2016, without any pre-inspection of the car before its delivery. The said car was delivered to my address at Greenfield City on 15.02.2016. Even though I was unwilling to accept such delivery due to the unprofessional behaviour but the brand value of SKODA prevailed in my mind and I accept the said car. However from the very next morning of delivery/purchase of the car, I found some noise form the rear break drums of the car. I had to garage the car on 16.02.2016 with Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited, the dealer which they returned after purported repair the very same day but was again garaged on the same day due to the problems in the brakes of the car which was and is still persisting.

      The car had to be garaged for five times in the next six months with the Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited, the dealer. A brand new car was stripped open to detect the mechanics and technical team to identify the problem, numerous times, along with road tests and even keeping the car in the workshop for various other tests both by the technical teams of Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited and Skoda India Limited.

      I had sent amongst various persuasions two emails to the sales department of Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited and also to their General Manager and have further requested them to take up the problem with your highest authorities and have also spoken to the officers of Skoda India Limited over telephone.

      Finally in the month of September 2016 I had been let known from both the dealer as well as your representative over phone that the braking problems in my car cannot be fixed. Kindly note the main component of the drivability of a car is its Brakes and Steering which are automatically controlled, which when becomes defective makes the car completely unsafe & unworthy. The breaking problem was reported since the very next day of delivery of a brand new car to the dealership. The car was reported with defective brake attachments on the very second day of delivery. Both the rear brake drums and the front wheel disc had to be replaced. A part of the steering attachment also had to be replaced. Many other defects of various natures were also reported. All the problems remains unresolved till date and the car delivered to me was ridden with manufacturing defects and as such I have been very dissatisfied with the product and the service provided by you and I feel defrauded. Even due to the malfunctioning of the break I faced two severe accidents in the high road while returning from your workshop.

      You are requested to replace the said car with a car of equivalent or higher model or pay me a sum of Rs. 15, 00, 000/- which is the price of a new car along with a sum of Rs. 5, 00, 000/- as compensation plus Rs. 3, 00, 000/- as compensation due to my mental and physical harassment within seven days here from. It is pertinent to mention that I am still continuing the payment of EMI.

      In the event you fail to comply with my aforementioned request I shall have no other alternative but to pursue legal recourse against the dealer Jia Auto Sales Pvt. Limited and your company, Skoda India Limited which may be of Civil and Criminal in nature, as may be advised.

      It is the worst brand I have ever used. Even I am going to sue the company as they are selling the faulty product and replace the same to new vehicles after detecting and are not willing to replace for the cars manufactured and sold before detecting the fault. They have sold Rapid vehicle with defective fuel injectors till June 2012 and have used new brand injectors in new vehicles and they are not ready to recall the manufactured before June 2012. They are charging upto one lakh for replacement for old vehicles.

      One advice for Skoda buyers please don't buy Skoda products or be ready to give 4 to 5 lakhs to the company as parts cost in 4 to 5 years. So if your car price is 10 lakh be ready to spend 5 lakhs on parts and labour in next 5 years
      this skoda is such an idiotic over-rated brand...my new car have a manufacturing defect i told them to check and sort it out but the technicians who came to check the car gave me a suggestion to switch off the engine and start again when ever yu face this problem it seems... i sent it to workshop cause i didn't want to use my car like that way... later on i got a call from the servicing center saying there's a technical problem n some ### it ll cost 50k for repair...when i did my back ground research and asked them in detail they saying they gave me good will to make me happy as a customer which doest make any sense...i wish i could help customers like me to sue the company baap!!!

        Hi, our skoda rapid ambition 1.6 tdi, bought in march 2012, recently had an issue of a blinking "emission and coil" indicator, in between a drive. When it was taken to the chennai guindy gurudev service station,. The initial reason seems to be fuel adulteration, but as all car owners, we fill it from the psu outlets like bharat petroleum, hp and shell etc, so we are wondering about the reliability of a skoda ignition system to be faulty in two years. The skoda service guys also informed us the cost of 1 such fuel injectors as rs.25000/- and since it is outside our warranty, we may have to bear a part of its cost. I found a service advisory issued by skoda which states that all injectors manufactured before june 2012 has that issue and has to be replaced. They have never made a recall of car for this issue.         How long will it take for your representatives to contact
        Worst skoda vehicle with vary bad customer service. they are going to pay a huge price for this as they are selling faulty products and not ready to replace it.

          Worst road side assistance offered

          Dear sir/mam
          It feels regret to inform you that I am very unhappy with the services provided by your road side assistance team as I had a breakdown of my vehicle reg.no mh12mw8901.
          Vehicle was broken down near a Paud( Pune city) n the call centre was unable to provide me help as I was stuck till 5 am with family with all problem to be sorted out.
          Case was registered at 11 pm previous night and felt so sorry to be associated with Skoda I request you to take some serious steps with the services offered and also update me with acknowledgement of the mail.
          If not I would take further concern action so that no other customers are affected including myself

            Dear Sir,

            This for your your kind consideration that my car no. UP80 CJ 6800 had a minor accident on 25-12-16 for which I had sudmitted the claim form duly signed for my car to M/s. Nawab motors, Noida on 26-12-16 in which it was mentioned that the wind screan and front bumper of car got damaged and informed to body shop manager Mr. Dheeraj for the intimation of it to the insurance company. In the first case insurance surveyor Mr. Ram passed the claim of wind shield but refused for the remained work of bumper. But when I requested Mr Ram for the remained work of the bumper he passed the bumper and other for second claim., after discussion of body shop manager Mr. dheeraj and Insurance surveyor Mr. Ram, Mr. dheeraj proceeded for the remained work but not intimated for the second claim to the insurance company and the work on car was already finished on 31-12-16 and the invoice of 32444/- was prepared in the name of insurance company but not submitted to the insurance company till 2nd jan 2017 and on 2nd jan insurance policy of my car got expired. And on3rd jan I was informed that the second claim of my car was not intimated and I have to pay the amout of second claim about which I have already informed to body shop manager Mr. Dheeraj that my policy is about to expire, though on 31st of dec 2016 I was informed that my car is ready I can pick it up. So by the fault of service center I had to pay the amount of 12276/- and service center handed over my car to me on 06/01/17 after 18:30 .so I request you to take the legal action against Nawab motors for misguiding me and refund me the amount of Rs. 12276/- . I am submitting all the bills regarding it and the bill full work which proves that my car was ready on 31-12-16 but it was got delayed illegally. just to charge the amount by the service centre by Ms. Nawab Motors.
            I am submitting all the bills and jobcard for the work for your information. Kindly look in to matter and do the needful ASAP.

              I have purchased SKODA Fabia 2014 make. After running 5000 KMS my engine got failed suddenly and car has not started. Then shifted my vehicle to mahavir auto. They said like i have to bear 75, 000 Rs. to wards the Engine repair charges by keeping my car in garage 2 months and demanding the money.I have bargained after wards with them they come down to 35, 000 and labour charges for handing over the vehicle.I have pleased them not to cheat and finally I have paid total amount and bought my car.

              Again after 13, 000 Kms, the engine coolant system got failed and returned to skoda service centre. Now they have taken my vehicle back again and asking to wait for another 10 days and i dont know how much amount they are going to cheat this time.

              I have purchased a brand new vehicle from skoda. If the vehicle doesnt perform at least 15, 000 kms correctly without repeated repair, then what sort of automobile company car it is.I hate such company who cheats customers with middle aged income group who bought car from them.

              I have complained several times when call came from SKODA but no use of the Service calls which they make. I think they are fake calls arranged by Mahavir.
              Its a fake Automobile company who doesnt manufature the goods by keeping customers in mind. and they dont stand on the service booklet rules.
              If a vehicle brought from SKODA doesnt perform even 15000 kms.what sort of car it is? and what sort of automobile company it is?

                Dear Sir

                I khushbu dave purchased your product skoda rapid on 20/01/2016 from Jai Cars Pvt Ltd. Jodhpur is immensely dis satisfied with after sales support provided by your organisation.

                My AC vents is emitting white fumes, I have problem with my second gear, it is not working properly and also windows of driver side making absued noise after getting wet. I have already visited the service centre thrice regarding the malfunctions but no attention has been paid, still facing all those problems. once they change my gear but still facing the same problem and I am not satisfied with the solution which they provided to me and service advisor is saying that the way you change your gears is not ohk change your driving pattern this is ridiculous, I have so many cars but i have problem with my rapid only so i think my driving pattern is ohk your car is not good.

                There is a quality issue in the steering mounted controls ie both the volume adjust button and folder changing button in the steering got damaged is this the quality u manufacturer in the premium segment sedan vehicles. when asked with the service partner they say that they dont have the spare to replace the both the adjusting buttons in the steering.Myself very much disappointed to see such pretty things are manufactured in sub standard materials. i need this to be replaced in warranty. Does all plastic materials used in the car is of such low quality ?

                My car will go out of warranty in this month. kindly provide some solution for the above mentioned faults before the warranty lapse else the company will leave me no choice other then going to the consumer forum.

                please do the needfull at the earliest and oblige.

                  Skoda Rapid has bad manufacturing design of its remote control Key and I saw many customer making complaint of same. I also have skoda rapid and key was broken 4 months back as natural wear and tear due to poor manufacturing quality and vehicle is still under warranty. Since than dozens of call and mails have been exchanged with skoda india and but they have refused to do any thing saying its not covered under warranty. In my 20 years of driving and having used 10 different cars, I have never seen that Key breaking the way Skoda Rapid key broke due to manufacturing defect.

                  I am still hopefull that some wise person in skoda will understand my issue and replace the key.

                    5. For Servicing I send the car from Jalgaon to Nasik with prior appointment. ( Heak Auto Nasik)
                    6. nobody is giving the proper answer & about the position of the car.
                    7. whole day my car & driver was there without repairing, he has charged Rs. 460.00 & saying you have to wait 2 - 3 days.
                    8. We notice the sound in stearing only we want to repair that one.
                    9. This is third time bad experience.

                      Myself having a skoda octovia taken on 25 sep 2015 with chassis no: TMBBJFNE3FA007704 and engine no. :CRV116363. There is a quality issue in the steering mounted controls ie both the volume adjust button and folder changing button in the steering got damaged which you can see in the photo enclosed.is this the quality u manufacturer in the premium segment sedan vehicles. when asked with the service partner they say that they dont have the spare to replace the both the adjusting buttons in the steering.Myself very much disappointed to see such pretty things are manufactured in sub standard materials. i need this to be replaced. Does all plastic materials used in the car is of such low quality ?

                      Myself having a skoda Fabia my car serviced on 22nd Jan 2017, during service they broke AC vent on drivers side and still there is no update foe the same, Can you confirm the time taken for single part???

                      If you are not be able to deliver in a month how you can confirm your super car and services if major accident happens.

                      .Myself very much disappointed to see such pretty things by your workshop teams, I need this to be replaced on priority

                        I have skoda yeti no.PB 08 BQ 5555. my vehicle had an accident on dated 29/11/16. i had send my vehicle to SAGA AUTOMOTIVE WORKSHOP at jaipur SITAPURA, JAIPUR, RAJISTHAN. at workshop Mr.Rajkumar attended my vehicle. in the accident driver side mirror and front right defender, bumper was damaged. your service adviser Mr. Rajkumar told us that side mirror is not available with us and will provide with in next few days. but i regret to inform you that after my regular follow up with your dealer in Jaipur there is NO response from your dealer till TODAY.

                        if we owned a brand like skoda then we never think about this type of service received from your type of reputed company

                        please look into the matter and response as fast as you can

                          Worst in quality, 1.3 yrs crossed since my vehicle is purchased and very less driven comparatively and 100% perfect maintenance by self. Imagine for a less driven vehicle of around 12000 kms. Brake disc got almost worn out and brake shoes are to be replaced becoz of that issue. I was informed by the sales advisor abt the same and i made a visit for the problem occurred and found the same is being replaced for 4 vehicles side by side in the same floor. And it is not a problem for a less driven vehicle or a more driven vehicle and its common complaint for all the vehicles as observed in the service centre. Company is making sales of the spares in such a way. Hence be aware of buying a skoda vehicle.

                            Hi,
                            I m Rajesh, I have a skoda rapid, Reg no : KA 28 P 0919. Bought on 6 January2016.
                            My front glass has cracked without anything falling on it. Initially it was an 8" crack which now is about 3' in a period of 2 months.
                            I have brought my car to Bangalore to get it fixed from Bijapur. First when we enquired at the Skoda showroom at Sadashivnagar, the sales person told me very clearly that I will have to take it to Okalipuram service satation to get it repaired. That is 30 kms from where I stay. I go there and they tell me it is not done here, I will have to go to K R puram. I called the K R Puram service station and they first of all are not ready to even inspect the car, not they are responding properly. They have been saying that they will call back and they are not calling back.
                            We have to travel on 25 December so I came earlier to get it repaired and this is the kind of Pathetic response that we get from your people.
                            Had I known that there are such service issues with Skoda, I would not have made a mistake of buying this vehicle when I had other better options. I have cars from Hyundai, we have never faced such issues. They are very prompt with their customers unlike Skoda.
                            I want a clear answer from you, whether u can help or not. If not please take back your car. We will not require your service anymore. I don't want your car. Either you do it tomorrow or you take it back.
                            I come from so far to get it repaired and I get no response? While selling the car I used to get ten calls a day and now when there is a problem you are not interested to solve. How do I travel with my family when the car is in such a shape. I don't want to risk their safety?

                              I am the owner of Skoda Superb (VIN: TMBBBK3T7AA303132) residing in Mumbai, India.

                              We are approaching you as our last resort before we move ahead and file a law suit against Soda India Pvt Ltd. And JMD Auto Pvt. Ltd.

                              2 months back the car stopped functioning and I had to tow it to the authorized service centre. Since then the car is with them at their garage.

                              They say the car engine has failed and needs replacement but they are unable to answer what caused such failure or what is the failure about. They are also not giving any proper response in writing even after asking them multiple times.

                              One of the reasons the works manager at JMD Kandivali, Mumbai told me is that we failed to replace Engine Oil in 2015 which caused faults in the engine. On asking why were we not indicated about it when car had came for service and repairs multiple times the manager is not responding to that query.

                              I understand the fact that Car is out of warranty. But this mishap according to them has happened because of Engine oil was not replaced. Which is their duty to change or intimate us about the requirement which they failed to do so. And hence we are fighting for justice as this is the service centre’s inefficiency which led to the failure.

                              Even after multiple queries raised Skoda India in not responding them or even trying to resolve the same.

                              I am approaching you for advice and guidance on what could be our options to solve the same.

                                I was given my vehicle to skoda aurtherised service center in hyderabad for car care checkup and regular service on 13/12/2016, today date is 15/12/2016 sill i am not resived any conformation like my vehicle job card is not open, if i call to service executive asked after that he is behaving unprofficinelly. After that i was not resive any call from the skoda service center. Now the skoda car care check camp is expired, only the reason is in hyderabad only one dealer is operating, if we need the better service or trust the skoda dealer we have to compalseary visit to that particular dealer. So that they are going to cash our valuable time,
                                Apart from that service executive is behaving unprofessionally.

                                  I am facing this issue past 2 years as my skoda superb's instrument cluster LED's are not functioning properly. As time passed each and every led went off. now I am not able to see even at what speed my car is going. When i went to service station they said they will replace the instrument cluster which costs around 70k. This car is just 5 years old and it has this issue. The main thing is that time is not an issue but its just been 1lac kms. i have faced numeral issues in this car such as AC, engine oil going far less than the mark, but i thought it was wear and tear. But in this car the wear and tear is quite more than others. but i don't think this instrument cluster is wear and tear as it is something which should never go off like this. i have owned many cars such as toyota hyundai but never faced any problem like these...why skoda have all the issues? i want this to be replaced in goodwill warranty.

                                    My vehicle SKODA Superb no. MH 01 AV 4659 is given for repair on 22.10.2016 at JMD Kandivali. Till today, no clue as to what the fault is, ? how can there be such fault ?when will the car be repaired?
                                    I am verbally informed by JMD that there is some engine problem but they are unable to find fault.
                                    I have lodged a complaint with you also on 2.11.2016 but no resolution as yet.
                                    They have no answers as to what the problem is.
                                    NO analysis or diagnosis report is given for the test conducted. All they are telling us is We will have to replace the engine and pay 7.5 lacs for it.
                                    They aren't even ready to acknowledge the fact that their engine has failed.
                                    We are clueless with regards to our further options. Request group members if they can suggest a proper course of action that can be undertaken.

                                      They are not giving us any details regarding what the problem is and how can there be such a problem in their engine but have handed us the bill estimate of 7.5 lacs.

                                      We are not satisfied as we need answers on how can there be such Engine failure.

Mohit chauhan, owner of above vehicle, would like to bring to your kind notice that i was purchased the skoda rapid car on june 2012 from c& t motors pvt ltd partapur meerut up.in 200 km i have facing starting problem & very heavy smoke through silencer. To look that i was very much depressed that in new car what this issue.

                                        So ill start this car & directly go to c& t motors pvt ltd partapur meerut where i was purchased this car. The service manager will came & check the car so i was surprised that there was no coolant in his coolant bottle, i asked the manager when they deliver this car they don’t check it properly? They told me that there is some technical fault in car & due to diesel problem the egr system is failed that’s why the coolant is removed through engine & silencer. Sir i can’t understand the company like skoda have this type of technical problem in his engine

                                        The manager told me that they was properly check the car but i insist i want my money back because if in 200 km if ill face this type of issue then how can i trust that it will not happen again in future,. After almost one month ill receive a call from their that they told me that my car is ready with proper checkup

                                        When ill go their they confirm me that my car is change & they give me new car & guaranteed me skoda have resolve this problem in his all new car but now ill understand they tell me a lie… in 3 days before ill face same problem & the mechanic told me that due to diesel the egr system failed. May be this time ill repair my car out side from skoda service station but ill take this case in print media & electronic media & request people to don’t buy skoda car’s because this is my 3 car with same problem company don’t care about that..

                                        Sir if the company like skoda give fake commitment to customers then who will help us.. Sir even is last 4 years i have not receive any single call from company

                                        A sound coming from roof top and dash board, It was there since i bought the car, the dealer (PINNACLE SKODA), couldnt rectify the error till now, i bought the car on november 6, 2015, its been 1 year, I am not at all satisfied with the after sales service of skoda, I am totally fed up with this company.
                                        Driver side door rubber is getting worn out within one month. Twice the same was changed but the complaint is continuing. Coolant level is also reducing after certain kilometers run. Service supervisor at Jaipur Skoda was apprised but he did not paid any attention.
                                        Still waiting for reply on my complain against my car UK08Y9783 SKODA Rapid .. Its in Nawab Motors Noida from 9 feb 2017 ..
