I want to use this forum to bring out a certain unfortunate experience that I had to go through with Snapdeal India. I had order a Skechers shoes - Order # [protected] on the 9th Dec 2016 which was to be delivered by 12th Dec 2016. The courier person(Velex logistics) gave me a call on 12th Dec 2016 and I told him that I am in a meeting and cannot receive the package now, please wait for 15 mins. The courier person understood it as a rejection of the package and marked it as rejected. I tried calling him back but couldn't get through.
This is when the actual issue started. I called snap deal on 12th Dec 2016 and they said that it will be delivered by 13th Dec 2016. But it wasn't, so I called them back on 13th Dec 2016 at 8 PM and then they said that it will be delivered on 15th Dec 2016. I patiently waited until the date given but to my vain, they didn't deliver. When I called them again at 7 PM on 15th Dec 2016, I was told that it would be delivered by 16th Dec 2016. So I patiently waited again but the result was the same. So I called them again on 16th Dec 2016 and was told that this time for sure on 17th Dec 2016 it would be delivered. I waited again but the result was not to change so I somehow after great difficulty found out the courier company's local hub phone number and called them. They said that the product is with them and they have not got any notification to deliver it to me. So I requested them to deliver it as it was a prepaid order(EMI) to which they agreed. But on 18th Dec 2016 early hours, I got a message that my order is canceled.
This was an EMI order for which my bank had charged me 14% interest rate, which now I would have to pay for no reason as Snapdeal was refunding me only the original amount of 3014/-. I had called Snapdeal at least 5-7 times and each call lasting for at least 20-30 mins and that too in roaming. Overall I have had to go through a loss of 700-900/- for no reason.
My only questions are Who hired the courier company to deliver the order? Whose mistake is it if the courier boy rejected the order due his own misunderstanding? My money was blocked with Snapdeal for 2 weeks and I have had to pay nearly 700-900/- for nothing.
Snapdeal should reimburse such customers where it is their mistake. Why should the consumer be made to go through the loss for no mistake of his. So this is to bring to all of your notice that Snapdeal is indulging into wrong malpractices.
I request the consumer court to look into this and take an appropriate action.
