[Resolved] Snapdeal.com — Customer data misuse - mandatory sign up of their newly acquired freecharge portal | |||||
I was a very happy customer of Snapdeal and had no opinion about your takeover of Freecharge but I faced a lot of grief when checking out today. As a person surfing the online who takes extra care of the data shared I felt immensely forced when checking out of Snapdeal. It was mandatory to signin for Freecharge which I felt I didn't want to but I did it anyways but I wanted to keep the Freecharge signup number different from the Snapdeal one, so I added a different number then what I use for Snapdeal. To my surprise, instead of the number I added to the input box above the "I agree with the terms & conditions" my other number received the Freecharge OTP. Please tell me why this is as I felt COERCED into giving my information and used another information in pretext of the terms and condition signup? If you are really a customer oriented firm you will correct this and act in a decent manner or I will have to unsubscribe from all your services as I feel violated. PS: The mandatory signup makes the user feel like they have less control over their website experience. On top of that Snapdeal shared my data with Freecharge against my will and knowledge. Bottom Line: I need my Freecharge account deleted completely as I don't want an account with Freecharge and I don't know what their policies are for data sharing. Well, just an update, I guess escalating concern means, in other words,
"Dear Stupid Helpless Customer,
You have just hit your head to a solid wall.

Why am I still pissed?!!
Not only did they not resolve the issue, they sent me promotional email even after being specifically told by their rep that they have unsubscribed me from all their mailing list.

I think Snapdeal could be Indian retails Comcast. I sincerely hope it loses customers and becomes humble again, coz bullies like Snapdeal need a good kick in the gut to be & stay humble.
