A few days before a suggestion has been sent to Southern Railways through Consumer Complaints regarding that the Train No.881 crossing may be advanced as against Mutharasanallur.
Now the past one week the Train No.881 reach at Karur in correct time i.e.9.05 a.m so that the passengers nearing above 1500 who are working in Government and local private concern are very happy for the arrival of the train in correct time. On behalf of the passengers we are very glad and convey our thanks to Consumer Complaints and Southern Railways for the modification of the crossing of the Train No.881

Sub: Irresponsible activity and non-co-operation in Velachery Railway Station Staff.

      Ref: Ticket No.COJIA2L1FD dated 26.02.2011

      Dear Sir,

I wish to inform you that I had travelled from Velachery to Light House Railway Station on 26.02.2011 (Saturday) around 8 am. I gave Rs.20 for me and my old grandmother, staff in the first counter (lady staff / I do not know the name of the staff) asked me the change ie. Rs.2 in an ordered / harsh manner. I told to staff that I am only having tens and hundreds, so I do not have any change.

She has not given ticket to me and asked again Rs.2. At that time, in front of me many passengers have given change. However, she did not give neither ticket nor change. Further, she insisted me to get the change from others. After I asked several times only she gave the ticket and change.

Because of this not only myself and also my grandmother (senior citizen) also waiting, finally we missed the train because of her activity and non-co-operation.

I request you to take necessary action against the staff / instruct her at the earliest, so as to enable to avoid such type of activities in future to anyone.

      Thanking you,
      Yours faithfully,

      Sd/-

Southern Railway — poor maintenance of station

        POOR MAINTENANCE
I travel to&from chennai park rly stn everyday. The staircase leading to platform 3 and the foot overbridge is used as a open toilet and urinal and one can find night soil and urinary smell all around. A lot of beggers and drunkards are sleeping on the staircase and on the foot overbridge.I feel that there is no station management in place to take care of this problem.Every passenger has to close their nose while passing through the station.Railways is boasting itself of making world class stations and this is only for newspapers. Will the administration do something to keep the station premises clean?

            Sir,
Two of my brothers travelled from Trichy to Chennai by Vaigai Express on30th June 2010, the TTR came for ticket examination & asked for proff of ID. my brothers showed their College ID card, which the TTR said is not a valid ID proof for travel & has levied a fine of Rs.720/- . When the railway ministry has declared that college ID must be considered as an ID proof for students travelling by train using E- Tickets, how come the TTR say it is not a valid ID proof. The ministy of Railways has implimented this order from 15th june, which has come in all major news papers. Now as traveller I would like to know how the fine amount collected can be got back.kindly mail me the proceedure to [protected]@yahoo.co.in.
Also advice & instruct the TTR's about this. need a quick reply from your side.

              Hi Sir,

My name is Santhosh Kumar. I'm from Hyderabad. So I dont know Tamil which is local language of Tamil Nadu.

My problem is the name boards which show the station names were not clear in other language.

There are many notices( other than official ) on the station name board.

For Eg: Urappakam station name board. We can see only in Tamil. Other langues were covered with some stickers.

I request the station staff to make those clear.

              Thanks

                Address: Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu

In Cuddalore, we have waited almost 4 to 5 years to complete the track expansion.
During that time, we suffered lot due to this construction.

After completion of this track expansion, important express trains are not stopping here. Even though Cuddalore is District capital, they are not stopping here.

The private buses are charging heavily also packing more crowd for a trip and taking their own time. Please allow new towns to grow and don't avoid it as usually you do it.
Atleast now, treat it as important town and stop the trains here.

there are more number of passengers and we want the trains to stop in cuddalore.we want yuo to sto in cuddalore.why it cant stop while trains are stopping in sirkali a very samall town it is a village and it is very very small town we request you to dos o.we will ve thankful to the railways if yu stop here we will take care of the train's neatness.we will maintain that very carefully.there are more no of passengers from here to banglore if there is any train crossing cuddalore to banglore please stop that mailny in cuddalore.
Its highly frustrating for not stopping the trains (Chennai - Tiruchendur - Chennai - daily, Chennai - Rameswaram - Chennai - daily, Bhubaneshwar - Rameshwaram - Bhubaneshwar - Weekly) at Cuddalore. Cuddalore is a district headquarters and more highly populated than Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai. Also it is Special Grade municipality than other towns.

Also, the distance between chidambaram - sirkazhi, sirkazhi - mayiladuthurai, mayiladuthurai - Kumbakonam averages 23 km approx. So for each 23 km these towns are given stops. But from villupuram to chidambaram, an 100 km stretch is not provided with any stops though it is passing through a important district headquarters.

I don't know on what basis and analysis, the stoppages are alloted. SR should explain it.

                  Hi Indian Railway,

I am working in Bangalore. My home town is close to Parashala in Thiruvanathapuram. Currently there is a Kanyakumari express and kochuveli express for commuting from bangalore to my native. but the time take for the travel is quiet too high. its taking me close to 19hrs on kanyakumari express to reach my place and kochuveli express to good either its taking more than 17 hrs. Please provide us with a new train service from Bangalore via hosur, salem, madurai, nagarcoil, thiruvanathapuram. with a travel time of less than 12 hrs. its would be really helpful for us. Currently we are depending on Bus travel services like kpn travels, which are too costly, less safe and uncomfortable journery. But the travel time is 11 hrs.

Kindly look into the matter and provide us a new train service.

                  Thanks and Regards,

Yes, a superfast daily overnight train between Trivandrum and Bangalore is badly needed. Present services are insufficient to meet the needs of the passengers due to huge waitlist on trains and mostly Iam also forced to take overnight buses on this route.
Railways should urgently look into this matter.

                    Hi,

Recently My Friend travelled from Chennai to Ernakulam. At the time of Chart his status was still in RAC and he is the 1st person in that compartment for RAC (S10). But there was no TTE in that compartment. Later he found 2 other TTE s sitting in S3 after completing their work. Train is just reaching Arakonam by that time. When he asked these TTE, they told S10 is not belonging them and thus they cannot allocate a berth for him. These two TTE will get down only at Palakkad and they have enough time to check the ticket in other compartment also. But it is not their duty.
So it is the Responsibility of Indian Railway. If Railway doesn’t have enough TTE then they should ask the available TTE to look for additional coaches and pay them for the additional work.

Now the RAC Passengers are suffering. Even though there are vacant berths, some others are occupying these and RAC passenger has to travel without getting Berth.

Here he travelled without berth and next day he had to attend a function in his house, since he could not sleep, he could not attend the function energetically, This made bad impression on him in his relatives.

Since this affect his future life (he lost a marriage alliance. her parents told he looks like a lazy man), He is going to put a consumer case against Southern Railway for a compensation of 10 Lakh.

I Request everyone who faced this issue to put a consumer case against railway since we paid the money and suffered just because there is no enough TTE

Please come forward to fight against this. Please Remember Southern Railway is one of the highly profitable organizations and this is happening because of the negligence of the officials

                    Thanks

On 12/05/2012, I have travelled in GT Express: 2A, 1A coach and 21 Berth. The berth was completely filled with insects which have bitten my whole body which inturn made my whole body to start itching and My whole body is filled with rashes and still am unable to recover from this. I have requested the TTE to look into this but he has raised his hands saying that he cant help me in this. Even I requested him to allocate other berth but he couldn't. I was unable to sit even on the berth and whole journey of 12 hours, I didnt sleep and just roamed in the berth controlling my sleep. I need the IRCTC to refund my total fare and compensate to my health issues asap.

                        Hi All,

Am seriously ashamed of the Railway Systems available between Madras Beach to Chengelpet.

The Hon. Railways have scheduled restricted Train Timings in this slot, due to infrastructure issues. We the commuters without any option try and use the best of this available.

The challenge is, the timing of TRAINS are just at the disposal of Railway Authoiries. Worse, the Trains run 30 minutes late approximately. What is the use of having fixed timing??

Am planning 1 hour advance to reach destiny on time. It is really Pathetic.. THE WHOLE NATION IS SUFFERING, BECAUSE OF SOMEONE's LETHARGY.. Be it Top-executives, Managers.. anyone.. the railways needs to look into this..

WHY CAN'T PEOPLE WHO FAIL TO PERFORM THEIR DUTIES, RESIGN AND SIT AND HOME..

                        Thanks..
                        Devika
The express trains are priortised more. This scenario should change only if the IDLE Metre Gauge is replaced with Broad Gauge.

This should also allow the train timings to be regularised.

                        Regards,

                        Narendran.N

                          Address: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I work for one of India s biggest Group of companies and represent their Cellular division , holding designation as a DGM . I frequently travel down south of Tamilnadu by Southern railways , as a part of my official tour every month .Pandian express (Train no 2638) is a preferred train due to the convinent timings and routes covered by the train . The ticket bookings are done by our office thro Travel guide services, e ticket mode . I have never had any bad experience especially with any ticket checking and flying squad visits until the sudden visit of the flying squad team at 10 pm on 30.4.10 between Madurai and Chennai !

I boarded the Pandian express by the usual departure time of 8.45 pm at Madurai junction in AC sleeper coach no 2063 . The coach was extremely stuffy and humid since the only the fan blower was on and AC not working . When enquired we were told by attenders that the AC will work only when Train picks up speed ! By 9.15 pm the cheif ticket examiner Mr Kumaravel boarded the coach and validated my e ticket and checked my identity cards and credentials signed off on my e ticket and went away . I swiched off the lights and went to sleep . At 9.45 pm , i was woken up suddenly by him and another person with a Railway badge , asking me for my credientials again . I produced my Driving licencse , PAN card , Photo credit card , and company ID cards . They went thro them and told me that these are not valid and they need Origianls of all these ! I was shocked and told them that this is all what i have as a ID proof . Mr Kumaravel the TTE immediately did some calculations and told me to pay Rs 1250 as a penalty !! I was shell shocked and protested . He said if the flying squad people come to know this i would be in trouble and would have to face an enquiry on reaching the station . I tried defending my stand, but there was a very authoritative drive on collecting the penalty from me and few other passengers from the coach . Later on I paid this penalty under protest since i felt fighting a Flying squad was like fighting a wild elephant empty handed !!

After this i was expalined by one of the Railway authorities that they are apprehensive of flying squads and they are forced to penalise minimum 5 passengers per coach as a Target !! I coulnd t beleive my years that Indian Railways, a pride of the nation has stooped to this extent of making Profits
from innocent passengers !! The train reached the station after a two hour delay and 20 members had already missed the Navjeevan express and three of them their flights by then from two AC coaches !! This news again was shared by one of the Railway staff to me !!

After reaching Egmore station i met the Cheif Station Master Mr Subramaniam A who was reluctant to listen to my complaint . I forced myself to narrate what happened to a frequent traveller of Railways . He told me that it was the fault of the travel agent who did not mention the transaction id and what documents he had furnished to book my tickets !! My head was reeling under the stress of a hectic , uncomfotable travel and the most unpleasent exprience i had ever come across so far with the Southern Railways .

Moral of the story - Indian Railways has followed the foot steps of Credit card companies in making a new way of making money from innocent passengers ; Only god can help us !!

At the city railway station the charges for 2-wheeler parking between 0 - 2 hours is printed at Rs 3 on the board whereas the same is not published on the ticket issued for parking. The attender does not agree to take any amount less than Rs 5 at the parking lot.

The number of 2-wheelers parking at the railway station every day will be humungous and collecting Rs 2 extra from every vehicle is a big money.

Why don't the authorities have the amount printed on the tickets issued?
Who does a check on the parking fee collected from the customers?

A friend of mine and I were travelling in Pandian Express from Madurai to Chennai on 14th of March, 2010 in S12 (which is the last coach of reservation, after which the unreserved coach starts). Ours was the last compartment. At some station a bunch of people got into the coach and started occupying the area between the seats and the pathways. It caused incovenience to the people in the compartment in moving around and also the passengers felt uncomfortable to see people just clogging to the pathways. The TTE was aware of this invasion and did nothing to the betterment of the passengers travelling with reservation.

It is many months since the equipment for indicating train numbers and coach positions in trains was installed at the Katpadi Railway Station. But so far all it displays are public relations announcements. Passengers are put to great inconvenience because of this. This sytem is working very well at the Bangalore Cantonemnt station, much to satisfaction of the passengers. It is a pity that this infrastructure installed at great cost does not sere its purpose.

While on this subject, it is also a lapse in duty that the coach positions of many long distance trains is not displayed on the board for this purpose at this station. A good many sick patients and handicapped persons coming to the CMC Hospital from various parts of India use this station. The inconvenience to these infirm persons can be imagined.
