Sir,
SUB: Missed train due to incorrect train numbers – Ticket No. 29939180
Passengers: H.AnanthaPadmanabhan and A.Girija
We had booked our train ticket for 1st Nov, 2010 from Trichy to Chittoor (AP) by “Jamu Tawi” express (Train no. 6687) two months back. On the day of travel (1st Nov, 2010), we reached the Trichy junction well in advance and we were waiting at the platform No. 4, after enquiring with the railway officer.
Unfortunately, the digital display showed the train number for Jamu Tawi express as 6787 which was different from the number on our ticket. We enquired the railway officer about this confusion three times. But even the officer was not aware of the change in the train number. So, we did nit board the train when it arrived and we missed it.
We had to cancel our ticket on same day and we bought a ticket to Chennai by Pandyan express. We reached Chittoor from Chennai by a cab. Because of the confusion in train no. we lost a lot of time, money, and energy and had to undergo lot of stress and agony.
Since the mistake was not from our side, I request the Railway management to compensate our losses suitably. I have enclosed the cancellation ticket and the Pandyan express ticket to Chennai for your perusal.
Your immediate action is very much appreciated.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
H.AnanthaPadmanabhan
