I travel regularly from Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai, the Train travel is not safer nowadays the reserved compartments are very much occupied by the unreserved ticket holders and ticket less people, it cause inconvenience for the people who travel with proper ticket.
I wonder if there is any difference between the reserved and unreserved ticket holders. I would like to have safer and comfortable train travel which may not be possible anymore if this continues. I would be helpful for the people who prefer Train Travel if the concerned authorities take action.
This has been happening in all the trains. I often travel from chennai to bangalore any chair car express and i have even complained to the TTE regarding this. Once i left my seat to use the toilet and i came back and saw that two open ticket travellers had occupied it and i had to search for the TTE for nearly an hour to report the issue.
Nowadays i travel by A/C coaches but even there i see the problem of the transgenders entering the coaches and disturbing the paasengers and demand money. The passengers are harresed if they object to give money.This can be termed equivalent to robbery with freedom. I am wondering if the RPF (protection force) really exist or whether they have a link in this and get thier share later...
All i could say is that "The money we pay is not worth it". The railways is not concerned at all regarding any of the passenger greviences... Even my Uncle works in railways and with him i have taken this matter up to higher authorities but it is of no use...

All that i would do nest is to try at a superior level...and See if the railway board exists or not..?

I am R.Mohan kumar i live in Bangalore. Now I am Congratulation of your achievement as a sucessful Railway Minister.
We were travelling 31st Dec 2008 to Madurai Train No.6732 and back to Bangalore on 3.1.09 Train No.6731.
When we were travelling in Second Sleeper we have lot of inconvenience like bad smell and we found lot of cockroaches and Rats in our Coach, the same we compliant to Mr.P.Ramalingam, Depty CTC, Erode, but he told us I compliant the same problem to my top officials, but no response till date, and he told us the same problem for all the Coachs like AC coachs also. We didnot sleep the whole night.
All the passengers are inconvenience and I personally feel your image will go down from the public.

I am requesting your good self kindly view the matter and take immediate action and take necessary steps immediately.

Dear Sir,

I daily travel in MRTS from Park town to Tiruvanmiyur. All MRTS stations are has lot of free space in the underground which is idle and gets spolied by dumping garbages.

I request the concerned authorities, that the space can be utilised by alloting to parking in all stations, Hotels, Shops or restaurants, so that the people travelling will be benefited by this support.

The other problem is that the ticket counter is available at one end of the station. But in tiruvanmiyur almost 95% of travelers enter through the first entrance of the traffic signal, (near the foot overbridge), whereas the ticket counter and also the automated swipe card machines are also placed at the other end, they have to walk along to other end to get the ticket. If one of the automated swipe card machines is placed two ends, it will be convinent to the travellers.
Hi Sir,
I am Shivakumar from vriddhachalam. I would like to share my
views about the worstest thing happening in *vriddhachalam railway Junction*.
Every day all *lights* including those in the platform where public reach
are always *switched off* doesnt matter even if it was midnight? The lights
are switched on only when the train arrives & gets switched off the next second when the train departs.
Moreover railway colony has become a public bar for all those who wanted to have fun & drink. can somebody take necessary action?
Even worse is going on under station particularly mandeveli station behind and under booking counter there is bar and u can find comdoms there. one fellow as built a house under the pillar of the station. I dont know whom to complaint he always will be in drunk state. i even picture of it.

    Hi,

    The open ticket passengers making too much nuisance in the reserved coaches in all the coaches of south bound trains. It is not safe to travel in the night. They occupy the passages in the compartments and does not care about the reserved passengers and start sleeping in the floors of the compartments. TTR does not ask them to leave the compartment and no railway authoirites care about these type of incidents. Now a days night travel is not safe to travel in the train. I have been travelling to chenni-coimbatore-chennai trains very frequently and the occupancy of open ticket passengers are very large in this sector. They even occupy the leg room space.

    Can they concern railway authorities instruct the TTR to take action on the Open ticket passengers?
    I do not know why the TTR not asking these passengers during ticket checking.

    I took reserved my ticket through IRCTC.com and it was waiting list. At the point of journey only i knew that if the e-ticket booked is still waiting list it will be canceled . Before the journey i showed the e-ticket to the ttr and he informed me to take a ordinary ticket and assured me that he can give me seat for my family with two small children. So i took the ticket and got into the Compartment which the ttr informed and told us to occupy three berths. so we did that . Till my station came the ttr did not come so i went to pay the difference. He told that it is Rs.250 /- and i ask the receipt, he told me there is no need of receipt. I knew that he took the Money . in this situation what shall we do . i need the receipt to submit to my office.

    Complaint 2.
    On Feb 22 i took a ordinary ticket and got into a compartment and saw the ttr and request for a berth . so he gave me a berth and asked me Rs.100/- and informed me that if you want receipt i will charge the penalty. i need the receipt to submit to my office and there were berth available. what shall i do in this situation. I do like to give bride
    even in the trains which go to kerala ie I found it in Netravati, same problem is faced as the ordinary
    ticket holders get in into reservation compartment and they ask us to shift and
    sit comfortably as if it is theri right to do so. They say they have been issued tickets
    for the reservation compartments.
    govt employers are reall meaning for suckers... sucking the ordinary human money... god's curse will surely on them...
    I have some queries with regard to the procedure involved in the ticket system:

    1) What is the procedure to get a seat or berth in general class with open ticket?How much is the total fee?please describe with break up of the sum collected.

    2) Is there possibility of getting refund on reserved ticket but after the date of journey?For example once i had to travel from bhubaneswar to bangalore on 24-4-11 but missed the date which i realised only at 11 pm at night (which is almost 16 hours from the actual departure timing of the train)then i immediately went to bhubaneswar station (which was close by) in 15 minutes and informed them.They informed me to get TDR orTTR (which i dont know exactly) the next day and they told i will get 50 percent of the fare. But in the railway website in refund rules there is no such options mentioned.

    Can anyone clarify me on these two questions?pls.

      Ticket Booked under E-Ticket from MAS(Chennai) to NDLS (New Delhi) by train no. 2621 of 20th august 2007.Claim settled by Chief Commercial Manager's Office TRICHY.Letter no. C508/I/9095/07-08/13 D/T 26.03.2008 sent by Trichy to IRCTC Group Gen. Manager Nicholos Road Chennai 31 to make the payment.There has been no response from chennai office.Kindly, look into the matter immediately as the matter is pending for more than one year.

      Dear sir
      I would like to present my case that I have booked II AC ticket for myself and my wife from Allahabad to chennai on 21st Dec 2008 and am informed by 11pm on 20th Dec 2008 that the ticket was in waiting list 3, 4 and so it was not confirmed. Having come into the station with baggage, we found no alternative to start the journey rather go back to the hotel. Moreover we have to report to the duty on 23rd dec 2008. Hence we request the TTE in the train to accomodate in the IIAC but unfortunately we got negative response and the same TTE told me to get into the special coach for waiting list for sleeper which is attached at the fag end of the train. Then we rushed with baggage to the fag end and accomodate ourselves with the help of fellow passengers and but no alloted TTE has turned up on the coach and so am unable to get the TTE certificate for travelling in lower class instead of IIAC. When i approach the commercial office at Chennai central on my arrival, they insist on TTE certificate, which could not be obtained as i have never seen the TTE in the coach.Any way i applied with the note that we have attend a national programme on SCience conclave (Interaction with Nobel Lauretesat IIIT(A) and hence the organisers may kindly be contacted about our travel plan. Hope the authorities will take this request as a genuine one and provide as the difference amount at the earliest.

BUT AT THE LAST MOVEMENT HE TOLD TO LEAVE THE TRAIN THERE R NO SEATS IN THE TRAIN. WE WERE DISTURB BECOZ WE WERE HAVING A BABY WITH US IT WAS GREAT PANIC FOR US THAN WE HIRED A TAXI FROM KANPUR TO BAREILLY . FRISTLY WE FACED A LOT OF PROBLEM SCEONDLY WE PAID DOUBLE AMOUNT FOR THIS TRIP. ND WHEN WE WENT TO STATION FOR OUR REFUND THE PERSON TOLD US THAT COPMUTER WILL SHOW AFTER 72 HRS SO U COME AFTER TWO DAYS THAN AGAIN WHEN WE WENT AFTER TWO DAYS HE AGAIN TOLD AFTER 2 DAYS THIRD TIME WHEN I WENT AGAIN HE WAS SAYING THE SAME THING ND THAN HE TOLD ME TO SURRENDER THE TICKET SO THAT WE CAN GET THE CLAIM AMOUNT VOCHER. BUT I CNT SURNDEER MY TICKET .         I have travelled in 3 AC (Berth B2-seat:62} on 28.06.2008 in train No 6123 -Ananthapuri Exp from Chennai to Nagercoil

        Also in Return Journey I have travelled in Train No.2634-Kanyakumari Exp from Nagercoil to Chennai in 3AC on 14.07.2008
        ( Coach-B1, Berth 42 & 45)
        On both the occasions the usual cotton pillows were not provided by the caretaker of the coach . Two bedspreads were inserted in the pillow covers and the same were given to us. More than 12 of the passengers in the coach were treated like this on both the occasions.Though I have complained the same to the caretaker of the coach it was no use. The caretaker used to sell the original pillows to the sleeper class passengers at a cost of Rs.20/- per pillow. I request that the southern railway authorities to look into the matter and ensure that such thing will not occur in future.

          I would like to lodge a complaint against my CBS/NBK Roney chacko

          Here is my complaint against him:

          CBS/nbk shri Roney chacko is not attending the booking office regularly and comes to office
          as and when he wants.Whenever he comes to office he will be in drunken mood and behaves indecently
          using vulgar language in the presence of public towards staff above he does not like and I am a such
          staff. When i request for a day's leave he refuses and ask me to report sick and at the same time
          he grants leave for others staff particularly for ladies as many day's as they want.
          Ladies staffs are not roastered for night duty and compelled male staff to work in night duties
          under these circumstances and at the partition behaviour of the cbs/nbk.

          I am undergoing lot of difficultly to carry on my work at nbk booking office
          hence i humbly request you to transfer me from nbk to any station between TBM and MSB to work
          peacefully. Also i would like to point out that CBS/NBK used to keep in the roasterlocked and not following the Sr./DPO's
          approved roaster.

          Please do the needful.

          sir, i applied for passport 6months back.police enquiry hasbeen completed, but i saw in the status in site, in that police report has not been recieved is there from 6 months no ubdates in the status.i applied on 29, dec, 2008.police enquiry completed on 2, feb, 2009.please issue my passport

            coimbatore urgently needs these feasible changes
            Sir,

            To meet the long pending demands of Coimbatore the Amritha Exp need not be fully extended . The train at present has 1 AC 2 -tier, 7 sleeper and 5 General compartments .The full capacity is 24 coaches. Hence the remaining composition of 2 AC- 3 tier, 6 sleeper and 3 general coaches can depart from Coimbatore and amalgamate at Palghat Jn.Also the weekly exp from Chennai to Trivandrum could be stopped at Coimbatore.Similarly the demand for an overnight service to Bangalore could be met by stopping the Yeswantpur- Cannanore tri -weekly Exp at Coimbatore and increasing the frequency of the Ernakulam- Bangalore bi -weekly Exp to tri- weekly or four times a week. The railways need not wait for the next Budget to effect these changes which is in no way affecting the people of any region and will only be beneficial as also being immediately feasible. They can do it in way of a special annoncement before the release of the Railway Timetable in July.I hope the Railway authorities will do the needful.

            I picked up my parent every week at Coimbatore railway station junction at 7.20am.The car parking guy collect more money.he fought & collect the money more last week also.so please take action that guy &tell him collect proper money

              Sir,
              My wife and I booked our ticket online today (13/05/08) transaction id [protected] PNR [protected]. But both o[censored]s are booked in 2 different coaches S1 & S8. This is ridiculous! The online reservation form says only one passenger needs to carry the id card. How do we manage with one id card (which is registered in the ticket) when my wife and I are booked in 2
              different compartments as wide apart as S1 and S8? When I have the id card and sit in S1, how can she show the same id card to the TTE, sitting in S8? We are not young to run from one end of the train to the other.

              There were 70 available berths at the time of booking. There is no way of knowing where we are allotted till the booking is over. and then it is too late to make any changes.

              If the computerised system follows some set logic in berth allotment, then there must be something wrong in their logic.

              I Agree that u were seen 70 vacant berths at the time of booking and while booking u got S1 and S8 coaches - Make it Clear sir, for one Ticket ( Max of 6 Passengers ) Only one ID Proof is needed irrespective of the splited coaches and berths - i.e., In your case u can solve this by this method - (1) Take a copy of the ticket - One can have original ticket and the other can have it a xerox copy ; Both tickets can get verified by any one TTE either in S1 or in S8 by showing the ID proof - Also the Vacant 70 Berths can be from all coaches and not from a single coach alone - For Ex., S1 may have 6 vacant berths, S2 may have 10 Vacan berths and so on., Same time when you choose a particular option like " Book my tickets with 2 lower berths " means it might have picked up vacant lower berths from different coaches., In such cases use the option " Book the tickets only within the same coach " -

                Dear Sir,


                Sub: Complaint regarding unreserved passengers travelling in reserved coaches.


                Ref: PNR No's: [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected] in
                Train No: 6128 dt 10/05/2008 from ERNAKULAM to MADURAI.



                We friends a group of 12 adults and 10 children went for a holiday trip to Ernakulum and enjoyed with friends, but at the time of our return we met a worst experience in the train, that will be a BIG BLACK DOT for our trip, we have tried our reservation for sleeper class on 10/05/2008 and that is not available and then we got reservation in sitting (D1 coach) and at the time of our journey our reserved coach was fully occupied by unreserved ticket holders and ticketless passengers, we (ladies with children) argued for our reserved seat, but the unreserved ticket holders and ticketless passengers are not taking care about us and they are not get down from our seat and in the luggage carrier itself fully they occupied by sleeping and we are not able to put our luggage in the luggage carrier and so many of them are standing in the coach and there is no space for moving, TTE came only after crossing Kovilpatti Station (after 10 hours from Ernakulum), so please take a strict action
                regarding this and the action will be a safe and useful for the reserved ticket passengers, do the needful and this will make the reserved ticket passengers a NICE, HAPPY AND SAFE JOURNEY. If a foreigner may travel like this, what will tell about our Railway and our Country to their people, do reply.

                There is no point in complaining there is no greviance addresal board .

                1) the ticketless paasengers enter the reservd compartement s and occupy our seats.

                2) TTE will come late and wont take any action against them. Even if he tells them to move away from our seat .they will again come back knowing that the TTE will never come back... Yes he never comes back to check...

                3) Plenty of transgenders barge in and demand money from passengers. Humiliate them if they do not give it. The RPF doos not look into this. This is similar to open robbery with freedom.

                4) No train will aarive at the destination on the specified time. But ther wont be any prior announcement.No proper adjustment in the timing of the link trains would be made even if the train is late. This would put the passengers in problem since they miss the link train and they cant get the refund for the delay caused by railways.

                5) After all no railway staffs do justice to thier jobs or the salary they get paid. But they demand and enjoy all allownces and concessions.

                6) I wonder whether the higher officials really work or rather enjoy the A/C in the room and relax since none of the complaints have been addressed for decades.

                7) The worst department in run by the government following the Police department is railways. The government should think of privatising the entire unit atleast our greviances would be defenitely answered then.

                  GOOD EVENING

                  This is to the notice of southern railway department, that the
                  train charminar exp running from chennai to hyderabad & from
                  hyderabad to chennai always runs 3 to 4 hr late, resulting in
                  hytek travel for the passengers. This Friday (30/05/2008) charminar exp took at 7.03pm from Secunderabad and reached
                  chennai around 11.30am in the morning that almost 3& half hour late. Its schedule time of arrival in chennai is 8.15am.

                  And the Charminar exp from chennai to hyderabad sunday ( 01/06/2208) took around 6.13pm in the evening and reached
                  Hyderabad (nampally) around 10 am thats around 2 & half hour
                  late.

                  This is not only the case i have travelling with this train every friday & sunday to & fro from chennai to hyderabad for more
                  than one year this train charminar has reached on time only
                  on few occasion. We passenges feel very uncomfortable while
                  traveling for nearly 17 to 18hrs, normal jounrney hour is 14hrs.

                  Pls.i request the railway authorities to look into this issue. becos
                  this train never runs on schedule time, always runs min. 2 to 3 hrs
                  late.

                    Sub: Again problem with the Guindy Rly. Stn. booking Clark.What is wrong with them?

                    I am sorry to bring to your notice that once again I have been refused to be given train ticket from Guindy to SSPN (Sai P Nilayam) by the booking Clerk (on 25-03-08, Counter No:2, at 05-30 Hrs.) at Guindy Railway Station. On the same day I came to Chennai Central Station and purchased the advance ticket to travel on 26-03-08 from Chennai Central to SSPN. Then, I met Mr. Krishna Kumar at your office and informed the same. He also talked to the Guindy Station authorities and found it is not possible.
                    Next day[protected] I went to Guindy Station and purchased a ticket from Guindy to Park Stn. This time the same Clerk was not there, a young lady was on duty. Also, I requested her, whether it is possible to get ticket from
                    Guindy to SSPN. First she told it is not possible. Then I informed her that I am going to make a complaint, please make sure it is not possible and I told the station code SSPN. Then she tried and found it is possible and the fare she told that Rs.104/- (Express ticket from Guindy to SSPN).
                    I came to the Guindy Station Master and explained what yesterday the duty gentleman told and what this young lady was telling to-day. I made a complaint (No:301232, dt.[protected] and I am bringing to you kind notice to take severe action against the booking Clerk who was on duty at Counter No:2 Guindy Railway Station on 25-03-08 at 05-30Hrs.
                    I also request you to kindly acknowledge this mail immediately. So that I am confident that you received this mail and I need not send many reminders to you.

                    I am residing at Mettupalaym.Today at 6.25 pm, I went to Mettupalaym Railway station to book a reservation ticket.At Reservation counter no body is there.In a nearby counter a staff is issuing general ticket along with him one another person is sitting.I have waited for 15 minutes.No boby attended the reservation counter, I have waited.After 15 minutes, I have asked the person sitting near General Ticket issuing staff that when the staff for this counter will come.He told me that the concern person gone for tea, he will come after that.Again I have waited for 5 minutes.Then I have asked the same question because of my urgency "that when the staff will come".The man shouted on me in third rated words in local language(tamil) and told, " you have to wait.I don't know when he will come".I told him "don't shout on me", Pl reply for my query.He again shouted me, That "I am in duty, otherwise I will beat you ".then he made a phone call.In his call he told "Here there is no staff in reservation counter and a person is creating problem".He is making allegation me.With in 2 minutes the staff of reservation counter along with policeman came.That police man gently asks what's the issue?.I explained him about my waiting and conversation with the man.The nice police man moved back.Then I have booked the ticket.I have also informed the reservation counter staff about my waiting from 6.25 pm to 6.55 PM. No reply from him.Related to this, I would like to share the bad experience with Station master, He is not in seat at 7.00 PM. These are my requests:

                    1.Reservation staff not available for 30 minutes in counter from 6.25 pm to 6.55 PM on 29.07.09.

                    2.A person near by general ticket issuing staff sitting ideally but not attended reservation counter and not even replying to my enquiry.

                    3.In spite of my repeated request, he is shouting and making false allegation on me.

                    4.Using rough words, even after my intimation about the requirement and I have informed that I am going to take up this your superiors.

                    5.He also added that "you can make complaint to any one, I dont have fear".This is the reply from that responsible staff of railway.

                    5.The Mettupalaym Station master also not available in that time.Because o[censored]rgency I have moved after waiting 5 minutes.

                    5.My intention is to keep you informed to develop training of your staffs to handle customers.To educate in customer handling aspect, since Mettupalaym is dealing with lot of Foreign tourist.Of course, this entire incident is witnessed by foreigners too.

                    Hope your steps will improve the service better.

                    As a lover cum well wisher of Indian Railway, I am informing this for the betterment.

                      On 11/3/2008 I travelled by the Pandian Exp. from Chennai. I happened to come across an incident in coach no.S9 which is not only unpleasant but also explains the insecurity of a woman traveling in the Train.
                      When the train was between Tambaram and Chinglepet a man, in his mid twenties, started mis-behaving with a lonely lady co passenger. He was in inebriated state and spoke all sorts of filthy language, abusing the woman who is a well placed Officer in a reputed PSU. He was also accompanied by two of his friends who were also not able to control him. The plight of the woman cannot be explained and any weak-hearted would not have faced such a situation. When the efforts of all the co-passengers failed, a formal complaint was lodged with the RPF in the train.
                      Only then it was learnt that the culprit is working in the State Police. With a bit of tussle between him and the RPF, the man was finally de-trained at Villupuram Station. Around 2 am the woman has received a phone in her mobile (her no. was given in the complaint letter). The caller has identified himself as from the Police Department and he wanted the complaint to be withdrawn stating that the culprit was ready to apologize. The lady was in no mood to withdraw the complaint and has insisted to go ahead with the legal action.
                      Meanwhile, there was a fire in the first compartment, the train was stopped and we alighted at Vadamadurai. Around 7am, there were another couple of calls to the lady to withdraw the complaint for which she has not replied anything.
                      Nobody knows whether justice will prevail in this case. It is really sad that the RPF, who are suppose to look after the safety and interest of the common man are not taking action against a criminal because he is a Policeman. One is not able to understand how the mobile no. of the complainant got into the hands of the criminal. If an young Policeman who has to be the guardian of the public is indulging in such unlawful activities, it is will be dangerous to continue him in such a noble service.
                      Each weekends a lot of parents in the Southern Districts expect their college-going children (even girls) to join them at their home. So far we were of the thought that train journey is safe. But after this incident, everybody has to re-think.

                      Dear Sir,

                      At park station, In platform one the train which goes towards beach when it stops in station people use this train to cross from platform 1 to 2, even after train starts people try to cross and get down, I see frequently one or the other person lose the balance and falls , specially school kids and ladies please build a fence, so passengers use the bridge to change the platform, please take action as soon as possible before any loss of life.Thanks for reading it, hope the action will taken soon.

                      Sir/Madam,

                      This is Balaji, Age 33, Travelled by Train Numer 12677, Ernakulam express, Coatch D6, Seat Number 61 on 5th Aug 2011.

                      Two lady Ticket checking personnal came to our coach after the train crossed Tirupur junction and was verifying every ones ticket.

                      3 ladies travelling in seat number 62,63 & 67 were not having a original ID proof along with eticket and was harrased by this ticket checkers. I respect the work that they do, but have to be kind to the passangers.

                      Same time 2 of the unauthorised persons(1 persons selling Tshirts & 1 lady selling Gauva) passed by this compartment, These 2 ladies demanded the person with T shirt to get vada from canteen and the lady 2 gauva fruits.

                      It was highly irritating to see their behaviour with a fair passanger though they did not have a original proof and not charging the unauthorised persons in train getting bribe in form of vada and fruits.

                      I did not get a chance to see their names as they were hiding their badges.

                      Request your help in getting them punished and advised accordingly

                        Today I was travelling in AC Chair car from Ariyalur to Chennai in Vaigai Express (02- March 2008). I was travelling with my wife who is pregnant and with my mother who reached the age of 60. I have booked the ticket in IRCTC claiming senior citizen fro my mother. AT last minute i saw that in ticket my mother sex was printed as Male instead of Female. Before getting into the train I showed it to TTR and showed teh age proof for her and also I specified the error in the ticket. He told just to get into the train. After getting into the train he asked Rs 200 for me to adjust for this ticket . When I refused he looked into the age prrof. It was a ration card issued in July 2005 and her age was specified as 57. He mwntioned that as a reason and he told me to either pay penalty for it or pay himn rs 200. I finally paid peanlty of RS 680 ( forced to pay). Every body knows that ration card form will be received before 6 months and teh age mentioned that was not exactly on teh date of issue. Ration card is acceptable for age proof. Though I am going to lodge complaint against him see the attitude of TTR . I am not sure that 680 is right penalty. Even in reservation if teh proof for age is not there they should claim only for excess amount . The ticket cost will not be Rs 400. He cahrged me 680 apart from the amount received in reserved ticket

                        Dear NW Railways (Jaipur),

                        I had booked ticket from Jaipur to Balotra on Malani Express of 5.7.07 with PNR No.[protected] for my family and myself. When we reached the station at midnight, we were told that the train had been canceled because of heavy rains and floods. Thereafter I had sent the tickets to your office for cancellation and refund (Ticket Deposit Receipt TDR No B018487). After a long and tedious process, I was given only half the amount of the ticket as refund! The ticket cost me Rs 1827 whereas I was refunded Rs 913 only. This is not understandable because I didn't miss the train, I didn't choose not to board the train. It was the train which was canceled. Actually, Indian Railways should have compensated me for missed journey and consequential damages (which I think IR avoids in fine print), rather than deduct half of what I had paid. I request you to kindly look into it. Your people might be playing funny in this. Or your policies need to be reviewed. In any case, I request that the ticket should be refunded in full, and not partly.

                        Did you checked the chart? Whether your mother name appeared in the chart? If so, you can make a complaint to Southern Railway to get back the amount stating that the name is correct only the sex mistake was there. Please mention that the TTR charged you as if your mother is not having ticket at all. Since it is not correct ask for the re-payment what you paid. Also, you can mention the other things if you wish. Good luck.

                        Hi I wish to bring notice about the Bribery happening in the Guruvayur Express(6128) for getting a ticket in the Reservation compartment. I had travelled from Ariyalur to Chennai on 1st April 2008. Usually I travel in the Pallavan Express where we can get the seat in reservation coach by paying Rs.15 to the TTE. But in the Guruvayur Express the Senior Ticket Examiner Thiru. Purushothaman had collected Rs 50 for the ticket in the Reservation coach and given the bill for Rs. 15 to me. I asked about this to him and he said he is taking risk by without giving seats to the waiting list passengers and giving the tickets to general ticket passengers. I dont know where to give the complaint about this. so I am sending the message to your. I you wish i can produce the ticket and payment slip to the concern authorities. More over this the second incident for me in the same train. Like wise on one other day I was travelling with my family and requested for ticket in the reservation compartment. He collected Rs. 100 from me and given the payment slip for Rs. 45. I asked about this and he told that acutally he is supposed to collect Rs. 300. I didn't speak to him and i forgot to complain about this. I tried to capture this using my mobile phone unfortunately i couldn't. Please acknowledge my mail and punish the TTE. Becasuse if this is going to happen in future no one will like the travel by train.

                        basin bridge rpf are catching people without any fault .sometimes the loco train stop there for more than 10 min so i came to see the signal the rpf caught me, and took to the corporation court office there they asked me to pay 200 rs and left me, there were lot of people who are paying 200 or more please look at it were is the money going.and tell this rpf do not harrase common people.
                        Daily their is an big problem have been played over by the unit trains, which is departure from velachery to beach . The journey time is more or over 40 min but is really taking nearly one hour.
                        In peak hour we can adjust the things which is reasonable. From Fort to beach it is takes more than 20 min. Please try clear this problem or take any few steps to over come problems. They should not be strict in all other things but they also be strict in signal problems.

                        I am working as a software engineerin Begumpet.So daily i travel from Kachiguda to Begumpet by Local MMTS in Hyderabad city.The train will come in time when iam going to Begumpet.But when i am coming back from begumpet the 7.40 train(not only 7.40) will come at least 1 or more than 1 hour late.So please try to avoid this problem.Passengers are facing so many problems.And one more thing is when the train is entering into the secunderabad station they dont give the signal to come into the station.They stop MMTS at least 20 to 30 minutes for other trains(Not only for trains for Engines).So please try to avoid this problem by decreasing the time.
                        i must say the people at the counters of mmts railway station are the most rude, unhelpful and lazy recruits.so much for taking them in
                        when they have 2 counters how come only 1 counter works even during peak hours
                        they do not know any rules and come up with a different rule each time
                        especially at the lingampally station

                        I am working as a IT Recruiter in hitech city.So daily i travel from bharath nagar to Hitech city by Local MMTS in Hyderabad city.The train will come in time when iam coming back to bharath nagar.But when i am going from bharath nagar to hitech city the 8.09 train now a days it is coming very late.So please try to avoid this problem.Passengers are facing so many problems.And one more thing is when im starting from (VBIT) there is no buses in the time of 6:30 to 7:30 im getting late to catch train pls solve this problem.

                        On 16 January 2010 I and my ailing father and mother (both seniors) were traveling from Mangalore to Kannur by Train # 6628 West coast express after spending long hours at hospital. My mother who is an orthopedic arthritis patient and some how boarded S8 coach of train 6628 and occupied 1 to 5 number berth of S8 which is vacant up to Kannur but TTE of this particular coach compelled us to move from this coach or else pay Rs.750 .
                        On same seat from 1 to 5 of this S8 coach another 3 persons where sitting with general ticket and traveling from Mangalore to Payyanur.

                        With severe discomfort these ailing senior citizens were compelled to walk up to S6 coach seat (37, 38 & 40) with only Rs 240 extra.

                        I’d like to know how this berth charges decreased from Rs.750 to Rs.240 when we move from coach S8 to S6.

                        Whether persons sitting at 1 to 5 seats of S8 traveling from Mangalore to Payyanur is charged extra, there is a practice among TTE’s that they don’t bill extra charges until the passenger reaches alighting station i.e. just before the arrival of alighting station TTE’s will approach these passengers for money without issuing receipt.

                        Tickets and receipts of berth charges will be furnished when demanded by authorized authority.


                        Kindly take necessary action so that these kind of activities don’t repeat.

                        I had a same experience. I was travelling from Kollam to Kasargod in Maveli Express. I am an NRI coming from Dubai. My passport and documents was left with the travel agency for furhter travel. I had an online issued ticket. Before bording the train I told the concerned TTR that I haven't got any original ID but only the copy of Passport. He allowed me to board. But he didn't check my ticket till the train leave Aleppey. Then he came to me and threatened of criminal case and imprisonment, also a fine for ticketless travelliing. As I am an NRI I was not having time to spend on such problems.I discussed with my fellow passengers for solution.Nobody was knowing rules of railway for travelling with an online ticket and without original ID. Atlast the TTR asked me 200 Rs bribe and when I gave him a 1000 curreincy ( I was not having change) he took the cash saying that he will return the change. After that he didn't come back to the compartment till the train reach Kasaragod. Whom I have to contact in such urgent case. What is rules for travelling with an online ticket without original ID.

During my travel, I thought of getting food when train was entering the platform of Ariyalur Station. I was standing near the exit door, keeping in mind that train will halt for a minute. One person came behind me and asked me to get in, so that he will stand first. I denied and when the train halted in platform, I got down looking for food. He called me and ask for the ticket. I was surprised, that he is a young guy not in uniform and there is no name plate too but he is unfortunate TTE of some other train, going home (Ariyalur). He started checking my ticket and started rough language which I do not want to elaborated. Finally he hurt me, weather you want to continue the journey or not?. After get in the train, later I asked my coach TTE about him but he did not answer but he knows him well.

                        Hence I request your high office to take care and give proper training to TTE for well behaving with passengers and ask the senior TTE to train them accordingly.

                        Booked ticket on July 9th 2010 for 3 people in Tatkal service Bangalore to Mangalore through online booking. Train was canceled due to Rain flood, I have raised the complaint in IRCTC on the same month 20th still i'm following up with them no luck ... please help me
                        I was travelling along with my family with six members from mumbai to nagercoil in the Train 6339 nagercoil express on[protected] in the S5 coach . The coach was with out water in the second day and was nearing to Erode Junction. A request made to the TC to fill water was politely answered that it will be done at Erode Station but it was not done.I reported the problem to the Guard in the train and he too politely answered that it will be done and he informed the station announcement place with his walkie talkie . It was announced in the announcement system in the station to fill water in the bogie two or three times. But it was not done and the train proceeded further towards Madurai. A new Tc boarded the Bogie and i pleaded with the previous demands and he too politelt told that he will see that water is filled at Madurai and it was done at Madurai station

Lot of people disappointed when seat is not available in train and unhappily accommodating them self in bus which is so many people not liking. Please run a train similar like vaigai express from Madurai to Bangalore and back to minimize the troubles and rise the happiness among people. It will be absolutely a best service by railway.

                        It is a sad plight of the poor commuters of NUNGAMBAKKAM railway station to walk over the sludge of human soils (pathway used as public lavatory) when they take up the 3rd or 4th platform (En route to Mount Return trains) to reach the outlet of the station (Near Loyola college). It’s unrelishable and shocking experience to cross the particular path and so the commuters have no other go than to “CROSS RAILWAY TRACKS” and reach the outer way of the station. Even a complaint book was refused to lodge a complaint about it at the Nungambakkam station. Cant it ever be cleaned or is it that the Largest Railway Network is lacking in funds?!. Ridiculous responses when questioned about the safety of the commuters!. Authorities quoted as to CROSS RAILWAY TRACKS. (instead o[censored]sing the shabby pathway!

                        My daughter booked one ticket on 20/5/2012 tatkal quota from Haripad station for 21/5/2012. PNR No: [protected] from Haripad to Payanur. She filled the form for the AC Sleeper the man who is in the booking counter is took the money for AC Sleeper fare and given second class sleeper booking. It our fault that we are not checked the booking in the counter.But the booking clerk who is taking AC fare and giving second class ticket means he is done it purposely. On 21/5/2012 we are gone to the station and ask to the station master she is told it is your mistake and ignore this matter means not only the booking clerk even the station master also getting the share.Even if it is our mistake at least they can check our booking form.I hope southern railway authorities will consider this matter and enquire

                          Dear sir,

                          We had a very bad experience in the our journey on the above reference journey from Chennai Central to Vijayawada. First of all the A/C Cum bed attendent was supplied night bedding to passengers in our compartment. which was very dirty and all are used with out washing again he is giving the same bedding to maximum passengers. When we asked he is telling I cannot do anything which was given to me that was supplied to you. I am not responsible to this, my job only what (Our Rail way Department) they gave that only distributing to you.

                          After that we waited till TT to come, we explained to TT the way of behavior of A/C attendent and we shown all the bedding which was supplied to us. TT says only one thing I am also help less the staff (A/C cum bed attendant) from Ghorakpur, evern our officer also can not tell anything to them. After that I asked to TT please give me the complaint book I want make a complaint against the particular Bed attendant. He given me a suggestion please adjust for one night sir If you given a complaint also nothing will happed sir. He was not willing to give the complaint book.

                          I was refused the bedding becasue it was already used by some body else. And I requested them atleast in the next station please arrange some bedding. They says it is not possbile, if you want to give a complaint you can give it no problem to us. The whole night we travelled without sleep and suffered a lot and it impacts on my next days work (duties) I could not able to attend . Plesae take immediate action on the above staff and compensation.

                          Hence I request you to do the needful for the above. If your action not taken within 15days from the above, I will approach to the consumer court for justification.

                            i was travelling on venad 6301 from ernakulam to tiruvalla. well there were empty seats in the chair car coach the time i asked him seats at ernakulam junction station the ticket collector denied then i asked for a seat from piravom road and he denied and to my utter shock he allowed his friends to board at seats 70 when i was behind him then i did ask him why did he do so and he gave me some fake reason. i cant understand how the attitude of such a ticket collector called suresh can be checked.

                              I am writting this mail on behalf of all the women who are travelling alone through railways.

                              Is it not possible to allot a separate coach for ladies who are travelling alone.

                              As per my knowledge now a days many of the women are working in different corners of the country and are travelling most
                              of the times .when ever we are travelling alone we are facing alot of problems with male co-passengers and it is not excepted
                              that all the womem are brave enough at all the times.In my case once in a month i will go to my native from chennai in
                              CIRCAR Express,most of the times i will get the seat where in male passenger are only there which is really horrible for me
                              at that situation.Every time i will pray before getting into the train ,many times i have asked staff in the ticket counter
                              to reserve my seat where ladies are ,but of no use.

                              so,please kindly request you to take my concern forward and take a helpful step for us.

                                I am one of the regular passenger for velachery to beach MRTS SERVICE. There are lot of inconveniences meet by the public.The surrounding area of the velachery Railway station is covered by mud and clay.The entering to the main roads are very tough.During the rainy season we would meet lot of problems.
                                Please provide return tickets in Velachery Station.
                                Kindly Arrenge a notice board in Beach Railway Station for Velechery ticket Counter.
                                Kindly Make printed ticket for velechery Passengers.due to the using of the printing machine every ticket takes atleast 3-4 minits.

                                Sir,
                                This is regarding delay in arrival of MRTS trains and also the number of trains reduced during weekends ie on SUNDAY.
                                Who gave suggestion to reduce the number of trains on SUNDAYS?. Please Ask that PERSON to travel on SUNDAYS so that the person who gave suggestion to the management can understand the inconvenience of passengers.

                                On Thursday(15/4/2009), there was no train between 9.45pm to 10.15pm(approximately).
                                I think no one in the southern railway notice these delays.

                                Please take necessary action on concern person.

                                Most of the passengers put their legs on seats with chappels and shoes. Railway management can put fine for those persons because nowadays most of the passengers doing like this and make other passengers inconvenient.

                                I expect necessary action will be taken by the management

                                Southern Railway — Putting unnecessary penalty on public

                                Hi

                                I am very new to chennai local trains. I got the ticket from Pallavaram to Tambaram and got into a compartment. Once I reached the destination, a ticket inspector came to me and asked for the ticket. I have shown my ticket and the he asked me "Do you know at what type of compartment you have boarded in". I replied "I don't think it is a ladies compartment as I could see gents in that compartment" then he said " it is not ladies compartment, but it is a first class compartment. Do you know this". I said "oh! I don't know that there are First class and Second class compartments in the local train also". then he took me near to that compartment and shown a number on that compartment which is printed as 'I" which is a roman figure one. And he asked me to pay penality of Rs.280/-. I got shocked and I requested him that I was not aware of this, but still I had to pay the amount.

                                If they simply put a roman figure 'I" on the compartment, how the people will know that this is a first class compartment?

                                the first class compartment is not properly distinguished from the rest and most of the people mistakenly board this compartment and end up paying penalty.

                                I belong to Kasthuriba Nagar. The MRTS station in our area looks pathetic as it is covered with garbages and making foul smell causing an inconvenience for the public.It also leads to diseases.For the past two months, the situation has gone worse due to negligence of cleaning the station premises.The toiletries and drinking water are also not working making the public to suffer.

                                I kindly request the higher authorities to look into the matter and kindly do the needful.
                                The Thiruvanmiyur station is looks like Garbauge collection. Please take action to clean up th station premisus.

                                This is regarding LADIES SPECIAL service from TAMBARAM-BEACH during peak hours lead to OVER CROWD of GENERAL passengers.

                                All compartments in LADIES SPECIAL service in peak hours are very free and ladies are not using it effectively.

                                Either make ladies special service to ply in FAST EXPRESS lane(TRACK) without affecting regular services or DONT ADD LADIES COACHES and FIRST CLASSES to CONSECUTIVE train operating after ladies special service particularly in peak hour.

                                ONE LADIES SPECIAL service makes general passengers to SKIP 1 REGULAR SERVICE it makes them time delay of 10 minutes as well as constraint of having ladies coaches on consecutive coaches lead to DAMN CROWD in PEAK HOURS due to consumption of two train passengers in a single train.

                                I wonder how railway has taken such stupid decision of operating such services for a over crowded metropolitan city like chennai.

                                I request higher authorities to think of positive as well as negative aspects before implementing new services, so as to ensure that it wont affect commuters in any way.

                                Seggragation of a portion of every compartment to Ladies during peak-hours will serve the purpose.

                                I travel from Chindadripet to Thiruvanmiyur ever day using the MRTS service . The train timings from velachery to beach station is really pathetic during the evening timings . The services are really poor espacially from eveing 7 P.M to 8 P.M . The frequency between trains are more than 20 mins . But in the opposite side we see trains every 5 mins .

                                For e.g on Tue 17th Nov 2009, there was train at 6.45 P.M . after that there was no train for 1 hour . We got the next train at 7.45 P.M only. Even that train was fully crowded . Meanwhile in the other side there were 7 trains during that 1 hour gap.

                                The delay in train's towards beach side has been like this for quite some time.
                                We are not sure why is this happening frequently.
                                Can some one really take a look at this matter seriously ?
                                It will be really great if this problem gets solved .
                                in local train, they are clearly indicated first class coaches in ENGLISH, HINDI and TAMIL so i disagree this

                                MRTS — Delay in Train Timings

                                Hi,

                                I am a regular passenger in MRTS.

                                I find that the trains are not arriving in the respective station at correct time. This is happening frequently these days. Trains which should arrive in 10 minutes interval is now coming after 20 or 25 minutes.

                                This really makes the situation worse as people get crowded over when the train arrival is delayed and later they just hang on the footboard which may lead to injuries or loss of lives.

                                You can blame the public saying they should not step into a crowded train. I do agree with this. But when it is getting late for their work, they will obviously try entering even when it is overcrowded. It is their mentality. I am also one among them.

                                Also when it is overcrowded, people really stamp out or push one another or fight with each other or pull others leg or hand while getting down at Chepauk.I request you to give some time for people to get down at this station. I saw some representatives holding green light to check if people has stepped out of the train and entered the train. I would recommend this to happen regularly and bring into the notice of the people that they need not rush out.

                                When the trains that run from velachery to beach is coming in 7 to 8 minutes interval, no trains can be seen from beach to velachery.

                                You can help us ie) public by strictly following the train timings.
                                Once the train timings are strictly followed, you are doing such a great thing that makes people

                                There is delay in train schedule due to Ladies Special at 9.15 AM, which is almost empty.. It travels from Beach to Velacherry, there is no point in having Ladies special train which is always empty on all working days.

                                I am a regular traveller in MRTS from Beach to Thiruvanmiyur, this is to being to your notice that there is a signal problem every week from Indiranagr to Mylapore/Chepauk, since many passengers are coming to work here in Perungudi and surrounding areas from Arakkonam, they need to catch the AJJ Train from Central Station @ 10.50 pm which is the last train for the passengers(Not only upro Arakkonam-on the way to Arakkonam), unfortunately we have met this issue this week for 2 times(ie on November 27th and 02nd December)Please kindly check this issue on travelling time of 1 hr 20 mins approx from Thiruvanmiyur to Park Station.

                                The Chennai MRTS is getting crowded everyday. The number of people using this service is ever increasing. Requesting to make all 6-car trains to 9-car trains. This will ease the crowd before someone dies.
                                Also, the MRTS stations are very dirty and stinks all the time. There are stray dogs which may get violent sometimes. In the issue of public safety and hygiene the officials must take the responsibility to have the stations cleaned regularly and make it safer.
                                Hello, I am a daily commuter in the mrts system. On this day, 08.12.2013, I am shocked to find so many gents travelling in the ladies compartment. To the extent that the ladies were almost finding it difficult to identify if its a ladies compartment! Maybe the paucity of policing on Sundays is the reason for this. Nobody in any station raised a concern and we had but to bear the discomfort! Kindly see to this please!!!

                                  For deepavali I have reserved by Guruvayur Express on Nov 07, 2007 to travel from Tiruchirapalli to Chennai.
                                  The scheduled departure of the train is around 13:50 hours.
                                  We reached the station at around 13:00 hours. On enquiry we were informed that the train will arrive on platform number 1.
                                  The big computer screeen displaying informations also indicated that the train will be leaving from platform no 1.
                                  We were sitting in PF 1 and at around 1340 hrs a passenger train entered platform number 1.
                                  I was wondering how Guruvayur express can enter PF 1. May be the train is delayed?!
                                  After a few minutes I thought of checking up with the information counter.
                                  To my surprise there was an announcement telling that Guruvayur express is entering PF 3!
                                  To my surprise around 100 to 200 passengers were trying to scramble to PF 3.
                                  There was pandemonium at the subway staircase as the passengers disembarking from the train were trying to get out.
                                  With lot of difficulty we reached PF 3.
                                  To my surprise the yellow signal light was on and the train was about to leave.
                                  We boarded the last coach and somehow managed to reach the AC 3 tier coach.
                                  Due to prvidence we were able to enjoy deepavali together.
                                  It was providence that we did not believe southern railway.
                                  I hear that you are an ISO[protected] organisation.
                                  I am wondering how such things can happen in an ISO organisation which boast of customer service???!!!

                                  Sub : Complaint about Ticket Collector

                                  Dear Sir,

                                  I donot want to make any written or verbal complaint against any employee as the job for every individual is the means of livelihood.

                                  However, an incident happened forced me to write this letter for the benefit of our society.

                                  I was traveling from Coimbatore to Kannur by West Coast Express on 18th September 2009 as I was returning from Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore alongwith my nephew. As there was heavy rush and we was not feeling well I got into a Reservation Compartment (S3) and begged the TC for arranging a Reservation in any of the Compartments like AC/1st Class or 3 Tier. Due to my repeated requests, the TC collected Rs 660/- for 2 person to travel in that compartment. He was reluctant to give Receipt for the amount and after compelling he gave me Receipt. I told him as you have collected fine from me and there were many others traveling in the same compartment without reservation and he has to collect fine from them also. The he argued with another person who did not have reservation, was alcoholic, and the TC could not make him get out of the train or collected fine and gone to another compartment.. On his return, I asked his name, with his guilty conscious he not only told me the name but he was preventing me from seeing his Name Badge. Then I took a snap of his on my Mobile. Then he brought his Supervisor alongwith 2 Policemen.

                                  I am a Senior Citizen from a respectful family, working in Dubai and I have no time to fight with these officials. Moreover, I was sick and hence I requested the TC for a seat even in 1st Class/AC compartment. Instead of helping me he created problems for me as revenge of asking for Receipt for the money he collected from me as bribe. He must have thought I am an uneducated old man and he can threaten me.

                                  First of all, if he is a Government Servant, the Name Badge given to him is not to hide. This clearly shows his guilty consciousness and from the photo I have taken of his, he wanted protection and hence he brought his Supervisor and Policemen. When I talked to his Supervisor, to his arguments that there is no other passengers without Reservation Ticket I could point out at least one Passenger a drunken Military Person and the Policemen, the Supervisor and the TC were fighting for a longtime and they were unable to take him out of the Compartment nor they collected any money from him as fine.

                                  Therefore, I hereby submit a written Complaint against the TC and his Supervisor for humiliating me with Police Force, for my questioning them that why there is no fine charged against other unauthorized passengers. As a Citizen of India, it is my right to know the name of the TC when he had made a mistake of not collecting fine from other unauthorized passengers and I have only occupied the Reservation Compartment due to my sickness and I had proof of my coming from the Hospital. Instead of helping me on humanity grounds he was trying to threaten me with Police Force which is only a revenge taken against by the TC for my asking Receipt for the bribe of Rs 660/- collected from me.

                                  I sincerely request the Concerned Officials to take appropriate action against the TC and his Supervisor and let me know the result.

                                    I write with reference to Train No. 6203 Tirupathy Express. It has a First Class compartment and as soon as the train reaches Perambur all types of passengers rush in pushing away bona fide passengers. On the last ten I occasions I never saw a TTE visiting the compartment. I propose to Railways to replace this with an AC Chair Car regulated by a TTE.. This will improve passenger convenience and prevent loss of revenue to Railways.

                                    I had booked two ticket on the railways website for Bangalore - cuttack for 8/5/07 in 2 tair A/c wich was waitlisted on the day of jurney I got one ticket conformed and other one was WL only one had traveled, I got the certificat of clameing refund of fare Ref No. 0482024 dated 8/5/07 and the same was submitted on 15/5/07 at the office of the senior devisional commercial manager, Bangalore City till date I have not got the refund. the local office says the amount will be sent to your credit cadr account but till date I have not received.

                                    I am sorry to bring to your notice that once again I have been refused to be given train ticket from Guindy to SSPN (Sai P Nilayam) by the booking Clerk (on 25-03-08, Counter No:2, at 05-30 Hrs.) at Guindy Railway Station. On the same day I came to Chennai Central Station and purchased the advance ticket to travel on 26-03-08 from Chennai Central to SSPN. Then, I met Mr. Krishna Kumar at your office and informed the same. He also talked to the Guindy Station authorities and found it is not possible.
                                    Next day[protected] I went to Guindy Station and purchased a ticket from Guindy to Park Stn. This time the same Clerk was not there, a young lady was on duty. Also, I requested her, whether it is possible to get ticket from
                                    Guindy to SSPN. First she told it is not possible. Then I informed her that I am going to make a complaint, please make sure it is not possible and I told the station code SSPN. Then she tried and found it is possible and the fare she told that Rs.104/- (Express ticket from Guindy to SSPN).
                                    I came to the Guindy Station Master and explained what yesterday the duty gentleman told and what this young lady was telling to-day. I made a complaint (No:301232, dt.[protected] and I am bringing to you kind notice to take severe action against the booking Clerk who was on duty at Counter No:2 Guindy Railway Station on 25-03-08 at 05-30Hrs.
                                    I also request you to kindly acknowledge this mail immediately. So that I am confident that you received this mail and I need not send many reminders to you.

                                    Yesterday night(25/05/08), I started from Madurai by Nagercoil-chennai Express Special(Tr No. 0606). This train is supposed to come to Madurai at 5:55 PM but came only at 9:15 PM. The station authorities didn't announce anything regarding this. There was some engine failure near Tirunelveli and the train was expected to come to madurai at 7:50 was the announcement at 6:45. Till then there wasn't any information about the train. People were sitting in doubt whether the train is there tonight. Suddenly another anouncement stating train will come only at 8:55. At 8:30 Mysore express which was supposed to come sometime by 7:30 came. From an Informal enquiry in the Railway office, I came to know that the train will come at 7:45 PM even before all the announcements were made. By the time i enquired, the train has left the incident spot with an alternate engine. OK.. This train was held because Mysore express came late.- this is the first bad dicision from the deparment. Next though it came behind, this train started after Pandian Express which started late by 15-20 mins. 0606 toltally started late by 3.5 hrs. Then at Dindugal they stopped for 30 mins to let Nellai express lead 0606. Then at Trichi another 30 mins for Kanyakumari express. And morning at 6:30 it reached Villupuram. It is supposed to reach Chennai at 4:15 AM... Time is the only reason why many people opted this train. But all in vain. Again 50 mins in Villupuram to let another train lead us. Ok.. Then it stated at 7 and reached Chengalpattu at 9:30. We all expected reach egmore by 10:30 coz chengalpattu-egmore is 1 hour run... Even though there was no train ahead o[censored]s, it took a 1 hour for the damn train to reach Tambaram at 10:25... At this time, the train was running as slow that an old lady can overtake even by walking... Doesn't this look shear stupidity for the controllers who are there in the office. Finally it reached Egomre at 11:05 - 11:10. Even if this train had run behind nellai expres it would have reached by 7:00. This is not going to affect a lot of time as already all trains reach destination 10-15 min late which is affordable.

                                    This kind of carelessness is because the Railway Board doesn;t care about the special trains comming late. They care only the regular trains... Also for the Railway officials, you are not the only persons working on time... There are 1000's in the train that have a million commitment and every damn thing is to be done on time... So do take care that Special trains also reach in time.. Time for repairs and engine replacemnet in case of failures is OK... But not standing idle on a Railway station to wait for a already late coming train to overtake this one... You can let this go and let them follow... Doesn't hurt much I know... Coz I have been closely related to the Railways for the past 20 years...

                                    Take this serious.. Whoever it be... Dont consider the train is running late... Consider there are people in the trains and they are going late... Will you senior manager let you come late... Trains travelling for 2-3 days this can happen. But a train running for 10 hrs is late by 7 hrs... Shear stupidity...

                                    A lot of Govt.servants in Madras who are in such important service like the booking clerk in guindy counter behave in this Arrogant manner! It has been an inherent quality of many govt servants throughout various govt bodies in Madras to behave indifferently and Arrogantly to people who 'appear educated'. That too with a party like DMK ruling here which meticulosly encourages such a cheap and disgusting behaviour among govt. workers... the scene is pathetic in Madras. Throughout my life i have travelled all over india but have nowhere seen such baselessly Arrogant behaviour towads public by govt. servants as in Madras! Respect and empathy are words unheared of for those people here !!

It will be very much helpful if the timing of Ernakulam – Trichy express is changed, so that it reach Trichy at 6.A.M. Most of the passengers coming by Train No. 6866 from Kerala are either employees or students. We find it hard to reach our office in time, because Government office timing is from 9.A.M. to 5.30.P.M. Many o[censored]s are working or studying in Karaikudi, Tajavoor etc which require another one to three hours journey. I also wish to remind you that Trichy-Karaikudi railway line is converted to broadguage. I request you to kindly extend the train upto Karaikudi.

                                    With a heavy heart, I bring to your notice the sad state of out TTEs. I travelled from madurai to chennai on 15.06.08 in the Pandian Express(2638). I was in S12. There were about 25 members who were in the compartment who should have been in the unreserved compartment. The TTE by name Mr. Roy Varghese was so unmindful about it and when we asked him, it transpired that it has been the custom of the TTEs to allow passengers to enter the reserved areas and occupy some place. It was not just on that day, but everyday, this problem prevails.it was truly a very sad sight that even the police personels did not care for that. I request that you may atleast preserve the reputation of Indian Railways. The same letter is also sent to other higher officials. Requesting for due action.

                                    Southern Railway Electric Train Squad — man handling of passenger carrying wrong ticket issued

                                    Sir/Madam

                                    I am Vijayraj Marine engineer worked for ISHIMA Singapore.
                                    On 2nd July 2008 evening around 4.30 to 5.00pm I had obtained open ticket (Beach to Tambaram) for electric train at Beach station pricing Rs.7.
                                    I got up in Chengelpet train and got down in Tambaram 8th, 9th platform.
                                    After reaching Tambaram I was checked up by a Ticket Squad and there I came to know the ticket I had purchased on 2nd july was stamped in mistake as 1st July.
                                    The Ticket squad was not agreeing to my request to check the tickets serial number to find the truth and busy in fining penalty.
                                    Since they were in civil cloths and also with the intention that I should not get cheated up I just requested to show up their ID card and then I will pay penalty for which he refused
                                    and then 3 of other his friends joined and started putting their words out in fury.
                                    I felt that situation is not favorable to me even on buying a ticket I told them "ok i will pay the fine, piragu parthukiren" (meaning of "piragu parthukiren" in sense that I had to complain higher officials for my wrong ticket issue with the penalty recipt).
                                    One of the Ticket squad friend with slightly curly hair took the word "parthukiren" and started using nasty language and threatened me that I will not leave the area alive.
                                    I requested them to talk polite as a government official for that he again used weird languages and then suddenly he caught my shirt collar pushed and shooked me and said unnecessarily that they even fined Ministers and press media persons.
                                    I was then stunned by these type of misbehavior and then I was encircled by all four squads using their harsh languages.

                                    Anyway i payed the fine and went to Tambaram S.M office and reported the kind of problem and assault.
                                    The office people were in really supportive and full of humanity tried to help me for 1 hour by tracing the genunity of the ticket.
                                    They gave me the address for the complaint to which i had forward the ticket and penalty copy and also attached the scanned copy to the mail.

                                    * Money refund is not the key issue of the mail but a respectable government staff man-handling and using nasty language against me in a public place must be notified and severe action had to be taken on crossing the basic civil rights of human.
                                    * I admit that I did not check the ticket at time of issue and apologize for it, but at the same time we people believe the ticket and buy in hurry or rush may not check it so its also fault of the ticket issuing people for not issuing a correct ticket causing wastage of time, shame in public, and unnecessary fine for penalty.


                                    I need suitable response for it or else I am moving to the court.

                                    This complaint is to bring the attention towards the activities of Southern Railways Police department. It happened in St. Thomas Mount Railway Station. There is a pathway from the Stairs to the Medavakkam Main Road where the road side shops are places and the cover all the places and there is only a small space left for the passengers to walk and it creates lots of problem for those who come by vehicles to drop/pickup. This is a against law and the police offices who are supposed to get this shops away get money from them and let them have their shops on the way. and the auto stand place on the entrance to the railway station is a big hell. This is a kind request to take necessary actions and make the passengers comfortable.

I am fed up all the complaints made in person to the concerned authorities. Even the transgenders barge into the A/C coaches and humilite passengers who do not give money. Th officials havent taken any action against it. The government staffs have always been like this and it is welll known particularly rrailway staffs are very laid back... The expect all the concessions and allownaces and facilities claiming them to be government staffs but they do not do justice to thier job and the salary they get.neither we are provided with the justice to the money we pay for the reservation and ticket...

Yesterday(05th-Nov-2008) evening at 21:45 hrs As per the Train schedule Normaly Gumudipundi train starts by 21:45 train one train was waiting in the Central Station and another train came 21:50hrs to Station. The train which came late go to Gumudipundi route and another Train which was there already will go to AVADI. But Avadi Train timings is 21:50. That Started without Gumudipundi Trains Starts When i enquired abt this to Station Master They All saying that it wil go like that only. You Dont Have any rights to Ask Question to me. They are giving Such Irresponsible Answer to the Passenger and For Gumudipundi Route it will Happen Like this only If you want to Compliant go and Compliant anywhere. I need and Email ID or Any Corret Place Where I have to Compliant abt this to take a necessary Action aganist those Two Station Masters.

                                    The southern railways has introduced ATVM(Automatic ticket Vending Machines) based on Smart Card technology for suburban tickets in chennai.
                                    Its very useful to get tickets in a fraction of second than waiting in long haul queues.But there is a big business growing with these machines.Some ppl get cards of their own and start issung tickets with a profit of Rs.5 each ticket( rs.5 will be the ticket cost itself).They start a mini ticket counter near the machines..Such frauds take place with the full support of the railway station officials..What was brought for commuters convenience has turned to be a business opportunity

                                    Southern Railways Ticiet Reservation — ticket boking with visa/master card

                                    While booking advance reservation ticket at southern railway ticket counter at St.Thomas Mount Chennai which is a
                                    huge population zone in sub urban train route (Beach-Tambaram) sector, notice board has been displayed at the counter, saying that all Visa and Master debit cards accepted. I waited in the long que for reservation and offered the
                                    HDFC Bank Master debit card. The reservation clerk told me that only Credit cards are accepted and not debit card.
                                    I have pointed out regarding the accepting the debit card for e-ticket and as per notice board and bank advice. He
                                    has informed me that only major places like T.Nagar, Moor market complex like big counters it is accepted since the
                                    machine availabel is not compatable for debit card. I toally dis agree this statement. Even small merchant estableishments, medical shops having machines wich are functioning both Credit cards and as well debit cards.
                                    Hence please arrange to provide the same in all the reservation counters. Otherwise the basic purpose of having the
                                    reservation counters in various centres to cadre all the people living in that area. It is not advisable to go to the
                                    main reservation counter for the sake of reservation with debit card.

                                    This is a suggestion regarding festive traportation menance. At first IRCTC online reservation requires genuine id for booking tickets in online. this practice avoids bulk middle agents booking and gives more consumer oriented services. But presently just giving name for booking, tends more chaos in online reservation. I booked before 89 days. still mine is waiting list 178. All these 3 months waiting period is wasted.

                                    Also festival like pongal, devaali not just special trains is enough. Can maximize the seat capacitiy is by including 2 to 3 boggies for 2 class and 1 for open in existing trains.

                                    Mysore - tuticorin Express is the only train link between the south TN. Please include 2 to 3 boggies on the regular schedule to accomodate more passengers on pongal holiday(13 and 14 of jan'09).

                                    in the newly opened railway line between Tiruvarur - Nagore Section. nagapattinam Railway station has more paseengers came from north india with families for visiting Vailankani Shrine, i yesterday went to nagapattinam railways station in the morning and see lot of ladies using beside of the railway line for open toilets, then i asked the railway officials about the toilets (i konw the already constructed) they said the toilets has no water tank and there is no water connection for drinking also, Where is the Passenger Amenities Nagapattinam Railway Station.

                                    I would like to bring to your kind notice that when the Hon'ble Railway Minister Shri Lalu Prasad announced sometime back that the three berth system (Side upper, side middle & the side Lower) would be withdrawn immediately, the people who had already undergone the trouble were very happy on hearing it. But, that statement still remains to be implemented. Recently (on 11th Feb.09) myself and my wife (age 57 & 49) had travelled from Erode to Tirunelveli and we were allotted the side upper and side middle berths.I couldnot express the trouble we experienced in that travel.

                                    I request the concerned authorities to implement the promise or at least make some provision that the aged people don't get those seats when they make reservation till the old provision is restored as per the Minister's promise.

                                    There was no water in the toilet, noticed right from Trichur . Only in very few toilets there were water and passengers had to undergo tremendous difficulties without water . This must be due to dereliction of staff on duty, who were supposed to check the level of water in each tank in every compartment . They shouldn't have released the train without filling water, right from Ernakulam . Again it was partially filled up at Madgav and released the train . Within an hour it exhausted . Please also check up is there any defect in the compartments ( leadk, etc, , . )

                                    There was no dinner supplied neither at Panvel or at Vasai ( Between 9pm and 10.30 pm ) and passengers had to manage with Vada Paav and Samosa from Hawkers .

                                    In all train in India, many unreserved passenger are traveling in reserved compartment, with the knowledge ( permitted with ... ) of TTR. So, That complaint are used for anything.
                                    Recently changes in conection with Ladies and First Class coaches in EMUs are made. At Kancheepuram there was a passenger agitation due to shortage of general compartment. In this connection I am placing this suggestion : As it is in Kokata One full comartment in the middle of 9 car coach can be alloted for First Class instead of 2 First Class as proposed now. Also two Ladies compartment as suffix and prefix of First Class in the middle of the formation may be arranged. The first and the last compartment as proposed now for Ladies is not advisable because these are motor coaches producing more noise and causing inconvenient for Ladies. In 12 car also 2 coaches for First Class and 2 Ladies as suffix and prefix of First Class in the middle of the formation may be arranged. At stations it is safe for ladies to keep waiting for train in the middle that too in night time rather than at the end of platforms because anti social element can escape easily from platform end rather than from the middle of the platform after commiting theft.

                                    I along with my family reserved 2 AC ticket for travelling from Trivandrum to Guruvayur by Guruvayur Express (Train No. 6127) on 10th April (Ticket No. 21773118, PNR No.[protected], which expected to reach at Trviandrum central by 23.35 h. Then there was an announcement that train is late by 30 min. and expected to arrive at 00. 05 h. Since there was no seat available in the waiting room, we were sitting on the chairs arranged in the platform no 1. The weather was terribly hot and humid, added to this, mosquitoes were hovering around. My 10 yr old daughter was falling asleep, but she could not sleep due to the mosquitoes bite and hot climate. I found all the fans were standstill. I proceeded to the Station Master to request him make arrangements to put on the fan. On the way I met another staff who told me that since no train was expected to leave from this platform, no fan would be working here, and advised me to reach the platform where my train arrives. I prised the railway for saving the energy, but when we reached our platform (3), there the condition was still verse. Even the suckling babies were screaming due to the bite of mosquitoes and hot humid whether. Here also not even a single fan was working. I was not in a position to again go back and beg to the Station Master to restore the function of fan. It was really a nightmare for us on that day. Making profit to Railway through this sort of cruelty can never be justified.

                                    Everyday thousands of passengers are travelling via Park station and Park town station. But there is no parking facility at both the stations. This makes the passengers to depend on the bus to come to park and park town stations. Even the park station (MRTS) donot have a proper entrance to the Main road. Those going to central route have to move via the stairs and walk in the busy road.

                                    I request the concerned authorities to provide a parking facility at Park station or at Park station. Which will help thousands of passengers travelling from East to west and North to south.

                                    Today, we, Gummidipoondi / Sullurpeta suburban region passengers can sorry to say more frustrated day because of Suburban rail and their operating personnel in Gummidipoondi/ Sullurpeta region.

                                    We don’t say suburban train was the problem. In-front of our suburban train (MSP19 starting from Chennai Central railway station at 18: 55 hrs), there was a Goods train ran and it took reaching Thiruvottiyur station more than a Hour. It means the suburban train MSP19 was reached only by 20:15 hrs at Thiruvottiyur station as against scheduled time of 19:15 Hrs.

                                    I am personally telling and Since my native place is Minjur, so I needed to travel up to there. After reaching Thiruvottiyur, there was a Express Train GRAND TRUNK crossed (only Two tracks, so our train was in Loop line), then our train was started and reached Injure only by 20:45 Hrs as against scheduled time of 19:42 Hrs.


                                    Why, this much long story is exploring by me/us is, this is not a first time, this has been continuing if train started even last one at 23:15 and reaching Minjur only by 00:45 as against scheduled time of 00:02 Hrs (Date of traveling was May 29, 2009-Friday).

                                    Everybody used to see posters which indicate Safety, Punctuality etc., but, in reality, we can assure there is no following up procedure in Gummidipoondi / Sullurpeta region of suburban trains. For example, I[censored]rgency like pregnant/accident cases can say No safety while traveling in reaching destination at correct time. Then Punctuality, Very sorry not at all maintained only in Gummidipoondi/Sullur peta region.

                                    * If we analyze, Why this late, because of only Goods train and the Signaling officer who gave unplanned signal timing. Then, conveying a message, we see/hear news that the Goods driver/guard used to stop and get down at running bungalow near Thiruvottiyur station and bring their material like dresses etc., even though they have Green/Yellow Signal for their Goods train.

                                    * Then, this Thiruvottiyur railway crossing gate is also include in the traffic/late of the trains.

                                    * Finally, we want to conclude today this One hour late, not only affected by me, the whole 2500 persons (approx) traveled in Suburban and Express train. This leading indirectly More Frustration/ dissatisfaction from Traveler, Money wastage from Electric power during slow running of both Suburban/ Express trains less than 10 kmph, Unnecessary Phone calls cost from railway and traveler etc.,

                                    * Because of Signaling officer/Goods driver-guard/Thiruvottiyur railway crossing/ Availability of only Two railway tracks at this route etc., have been delaying Suburban/ Express trains irrespective of timing.

                                    But, this could be avoided by Effective Signaling officer/Station masters/Drivers etc., in Gummidipoondi/Sullur peta region.

                                    Kindly look in to this by conducting Audits for Customer/Traveler satisfaction in Gummidipoondi/Sullurpeta region and take a Preventive/Corrective action for smooth/joyful traveling in trains for the Upcoming era……………..

                                    There was no TTE at all and we had to fight with people wo claimed they had passes and that they could sit there any time.
                                    Not a single person other than 4 o[censored]s in the coupe had tickets.
                                    First class was like unreserved.
                                    We buy first class tickets to travel in comfort.
                                    Why is there no TTE to check our tickets and put an end to all this?

                                    I am regular passenger in Chennai Suburban train from Korattur to Perambur. Every time when I go by underground subway some bad smell will come. After some days only I noticed that a toilet has been functioning at the top of the subway. The passengers while crossing that place will close their nose. I suggest that atleast proper cleaning should be done or it should be removed.

                                    I was doing a reservation at melmaruvathur railway station on Oct 31 2008, The counter clerk was very rude as he was very frustrated seeing passengers waiting in que even before he opened the reservation counter that morning.

                                    He also charged Rs 25/- per reservation ticket (two tickets for me costed Rs 50/-) said this is some kind of service tax and doesnot appear in the ticket. When argued he was insulting and swearing with bad words at passengers.

                                    Unfortunately Station Master was not available at that time to talk to, I'm unsure if the collection trend is still continuing.

                                    My name is Nikhil K P, My complaint is regarding with the vehicle parking charges in the railway stations, specially in Vadakara(Kozhikkode) station.The parking authorities is always showing very bad faces to the travellers.Please put the necessory inititatives to display the parking chages on a board.Now these People are charging a very high amount, thats also varying with travellers.they are not even giving the proper receipts.I feel all these can be stopped by displying a board in the parking area which shows the parking charges for vehicles.

                                    Today, Indore express from Trivandrum to Indore stopped for 40 minutes at Cheppad Rly Station and continue journey after allowing two trains to pass to & fro.                                     At the chennai central railways station being such a big major station it has only 1(one) enquiry counter.
                                    And if asked for enquiry at other counters the booking employees miss behaves everytime.
                                    Hence enquiry counter must be increased.
                                    And behaviour of the employee should be the improved.

                                    Today (22/09/2009) I travelled from Kayamkulam to Ernakulam via Aleppey by Repthisagar Super Fast Express. This train halted at Cheppad Railway Station for more than 40 minutes and continue journey only after passing two trains viz Janasatabdi & Intercity to both direction. This is a true harrasment towards the passengers who are travelling by paying superfast charge and we cant reach our destination on time. So please post much more efficient officials in the controlling section and avoid this type of time loss to the bonafide passengers.

                                    Last 2 days before i travelled Train No 6714. Ramanathapuram to Chennai Egmore on 01.11.2009. I booked e ticket on 20.10.2009. Status : RAC 91. Travel Date Status : RS3 39. 11 days not confirmed me. no problem. I don't know why not confirmed me? It's no problem.
                                    But now i complaint to TTE. I am travelling on train that day. But upto near trichy not clear for RAC for me. I am first person in RAC on S3 coach.. I spoke TTE 2 or 3 times. TTE behavior that time very very worst. Some Waitlist and unreserved persons give to money to TTE. TTE gave berth. I saw more times. That day TTE not use Goat at Name badge. So i am not note that TTE name.
                                    I am Travelling every month two times to Chennai to Ramanathapuram to chennai.
                                    Some TTE very very good. some TTE like bribe.

                                    I would like to submit my grievance with regards to WL in Tatkal. I bought 2 tickets on 5.11.2009 to travel in kovai Express to coimbatore to see my daughter who is studying in Engineering College was sick. The wait list number was 8 & 9 . As the wait list number was not confirmed till 2200 hrs on 6th night and hence, we thought of cancelling to travel due to the instruction on the reverse side of railway ticket mentioning as " WL-WAIT LIST DO NOT BOARD ANY RESERVED COACH if WL STATUS IS NOT UPDATED TO RAC OR CONFIRMED"

                                    As my wife also hesistate to travel in WL due to embarrasement in the train to other passengers as well as to the TTE.

                                    To day morning (7.11.2009), I went to cancell the ticket at Airport Counter, I was shocked to hear that I will not get any money in this ticket. I could not understand the logic behind. I bought the ticket for Rs 1180/- whereas while cancelling no money will be given.

                                    At least I would have informed through SMS about the status of ticket whether confirmed or not. In such a case I would have planned to keep my luggage ready. Till 6th night I was trying in 139 where I got WL 7 & 8. In this condition how can I travel?

                                    Therefore, due to not communicating to the passenger on time, my I request you to kindly instruct Railway Officials to return my hard earned money to me. I know you are very much busy with pre-occupied assigned duties ; inspite I have no other option to communicate to you.

                                    i was travelling with my Mom and Sister in train no:6348 Mangalore- Trivandrum exp: on 15th of NOV 09. We had reserved a Sleeper Class Ticket and we were on the RAC list 5, 6, 7 respectively due to the rush of sabarimala pilgrims they provided an Extra coach(EX1) and we had confirmed seats 65, 66, 68. The coach was just behind the engine and they was a whole lot of rush inside our sleeper compartment and there was a stage that i had to beg to general compartment passenger to occupy our seat. With a lot of wispering they moved out and kept standing next to our seats making us uncomfortable there was not even a TTR to check the ticket nor a police for our safety. I was just doomed in that situation with my Mom and Sis and cruel and fierce looks given by the general compartment passenger. Do we reverse tickets for an uncomfortable journey like this or is it our mistake that we traveled in that train.

                                    They are arrogant to general public. behaves like they are from elite class or public is all miscreants.
                                    If you does not address a clark with "Sir" or "Madam", their attitude is not going to be good. In chennai it is even worst. Collective bargaining, monopoly, trade unionism and post colonial attitude make this happen. Can you imagine a staff giving tickets at park town subarban station (time 20:45 on 18 nov 2009)scolding me with fish market slang-mair, punde etc? just because i asked him not to advise but take money and issue ticket as am not interrested in an argument on a minor issue of placing coins? There should be more transparency, and better peole should com in government jobs, and strict actions should be taken against. These employeed are worst extensions of their political masters. with our money they exploits ourselves.

                                    On 7th Dec about 10.00 to 11.30 am i had to travel from Thiruninravur to Chennai Central i already had the Smart card i thoght i can get ticket immediately thro it but when i choose to print the ticket you see only the amount has been deducted from my account but i could not get the printed ticket from the machine. this was taken to the ticket counter but got irresponsible answers then matter taken to the station master he convinced me and asked to contact the supervisor by that evening on his suggestion i contacted the supervisor he agreed that this type of problems occurs offten and guided me to lodge a complaint regarding the above to the Sr. Divisional Comml. Manager, Southern railway, Chennai -3. with his advise i also submited my complaint . i don't know what action will be taken regarding this .

On 13/12/09 I have travelled with my family from Villianur to Villupuram at 06.50 p.m. The expected train has come and stopped just a minute and moved. In the cap of time I have very struggled to board in train, because the platform is rail level platform. No.of passengers are waiting that train.such as aged peoples, patients with including me. No lighting facility, water facility, seating facility. Kindly advice the drivers and guards to see the passengers position and then move, and increase the stopping minutes from 1 to 3 minutes. and take action provide the platform facilities.

                                    I am disabled person and i try to book the ticket under general compartment but no seats or available for the quota.I face many prob in the disabled compartment even after reservation I was travelling from coimbatore to chennai by standing as my reservation was fiven to another person.People like are travelling by standing or sitting on the floor in the disabled compartment(DC).Please make a bigger DC or give more seats for people like me in general compartment.I am writing mainly i donot want to face the same problem again please change my compartment or provide a flexible compartment for people like me and my pnr no.[protected]travelling on 13/1/10 from chennai to salem and pnr no.[protected] travelling on 18/1/10 from salem to chennai.This suggestion was given by the enquiry cum reservation clerk.Govt pls take some action for disabled person and a unemployed people like me.

                                    railway vendor — attack on passenger by railway vendor

                                    On 15th January I joy Sebastian was traveling from Jalandhar City to Jodhpur on Jammu Ahmedabad Express-train no-9224 (PNR No. [protected]). While I was traveling, near about 6’o clock I asked a railway vendor (named Baljeet-assumed) for a bottle of water. He granted me a bottle of water branded ‘Rail Neer’ but the bottle was opened and duplicate. So I asked for another sealed one. He not only refused but also asked me to pay Rs. 15 for the given bottle. I refused to give the money as the bottle he gave me was not genuine. He raised voice and hands against me. I also got up and said him firmly that I won’t pay money for such kind of water bottle. My fellow passengers also came to my support and the vendor left the coach quietly.
                                    When the train reached the Bhatinda Station at 6.30 the vendor along with some ten gundas got into my coach no. 5. I pulled the chain but the vendor along with the gundas hit me thoroughly and pushed me to the window side where some of them were with some iron weapons. They hit on my head through the window and bleeding started from my head by seeing the blood and the other passengers approaching the attackers left the train quickly.

                                    I was hit thoroughly for something which was my consumer right. So I got down in the Jodhpur Railway Station and filed an FIR although everone told me it of no use. FIR NO- 0/2010.

                                    I need justice and the concerned gundas should be brought before the law so that there will be no more such kind of incidents for any passengers.

                                    I have traveled through Rameswaram express(t.no.6101) on 05/02/2010 along with my family which includes a handicapped person(my daughter). The train starts from Ms egmore 5th platform. I have traveled in III ac coach. I used my own wheel chair as the same is required for my daughter everywhere.
                                    Though, I could manage from platform 4 to 5 from where the train starts with out much difficulty.

                                    But while return on 07/02/2010 by Rameswaram express (t. no. 6102), The train halted at platform 9 at madras egmore. IT was a hell to pass through the passage between to reach the exit point. The surface is very hard and worn out creating severe backpain. It is really very difficult for an accomplice to help the disabled to safely place them to exit point. Would the southern railways look into the matter and do the necessary steps to help the disabled. We the parents of disabled are already put into hardship why this unnecessary and unwanted hardship. Will the Southern Railways do something in the matter. Constructing a ramp for disabled is not too difficult at Madras Egmore.

                                    Complaint regarding not accepting student concession by booking clerk and arrogant behaviour by the co-clerk.

                                    I had gone to book tickets to Thiruvamiyur railway staion on 20/02/2010 at 09:30Hrs.I had got a concession letter for my son from the school.The school had given us the concession form from the schhol . It is a government prescribed form and the booking clerk told me that this has to be verified, so he informed me to get the verification seal from the lady who was sitting in counter 1 who was issuing local train tickets(MRTS tickets). I approached the lady. she said first come in the queue, i said the booking clerk has sent me to get verification seal from you and i have not come to buy local tickets, but she was shouting very badly back to me then she took the concession form from me and said with out even verifying any of the register she said the school is not valid, i told her this is a government form and this was issued by me in the school with principal signature & seal but how can you refuse it, she was so adament and spoke very badly and rudely to me. She says that she will call the RPF and put me behind bars. The way she spoke and threw the concession letter back to me. I was badly humilated and upset and i booked my tickets withour concession. This concession given by the school became a waste for me. In the school assembly they said that students can avail the railway student concession, but the railway clerk behaves to us like then what should i do. I REQUEST TO TAKE NECESSARY ACTION ON THE LADY AND THE BOOKING CLERK. You can check my form where i have written the concession Number but they have totally rejected. I was upset by the lady spoke to me so rude and harsh.

Since the train 2623 Trivandrum Mail is packed up every time I travel by 2695 Trivandrum Express and return by 2696 TVC - MAS express. My concern is regarding the stops for this train . Both of the trains do not have any stops at Aluva . Aluva is one of the main stations in Kerala . A lot of passengers in this train who book up to Ernakulam are actually to alight at Aluva but since the train does not stop at Aluva they have to get down at Ernakulam around 2.45 am in the night where they cannot take any transportation, the same is on the return journey when the arrival time at Ernakulam is 21.40, during night time the frequency for public transport service slows down and on some days specially on Sundays it becomes really difficult to reach Ernakulam . This applies even to me . For me my home is very near to the Aluva railway station . This train has got a number of stops in Tamil Nadu and Kerala so in my view it is not going to make any difference if the there is a stop at Aluva for 2 minutes since it is going to facilitate the passengers a lot . It is my humble to you to provide a stop at Aluva for train number 2695 and 2696 .

                                    The complaint is about the name of the Railway Station at Marthandam (Kanyakumari District). Marthandam is the second largest town in Kanyakumari District. However, the railway Station has been named as Kuliturai. The Railway Station is well within the area of Marthandam and 500 meters away from Marthandam Bust Stand. I am wondered how it was named in the said name at first. There are small towns in Kanyakumari District viz. Aloor, Palliyadi, Eraniel, Agastheeswaram, etc. These villages have Railway Stations in its own name. But, Marthandam, located on Nagercoil - Trivandrum National Highways, second largest town in Kanyakumari District, a commercial establishment, having lot of educational institutions, a connecting point to the western parts of Kanyakumari District, having State Express Transport Service Depot operating buses to various places including Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Bangalore, etc. have its Railway Station in the name of Kuliturai. This makes utter confusion to those visits Marthandam first for business purpose and also travelling by Train.
                                    Apart from this it is the wish of the people of Marthandam to have the Railway Station in its own name. I personally have a wish to have the railway station in the name of Marthandam ever since train services from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari was operated in my childhood. But I do not know the appropriate forum to approach for this. However, recently I have read in news papers that the Hon'ble Union Railway Minister for States while visiting Marthandam has informed that the Railway Station may be named as Marthandam. I am very glad for the above announcement. Will the announcement of the Railway Minister may be implemented quickly? How long will it take to rename the Railway Station.

                                    i have booked ticket from Trichy to Vridhachalam on 24.03.2010 for the Journey on 25.03.2010. In Booking form Date entered for travel date was 25.04.2010. and unfortunately return date filled was 25.03.2010. In ticket counter, return ticket was not given and no information in this regard. On my journey i was penalised of Rs 650 inspite of Rs 500. I hereby request you to refund excess amount charged and take necessary action in this regard.
