The Puliyur railway station between karur and veerarakkiyam was stopped for operation since 1991.the reason for closure as told by railway administration was poor patronage.
Now within this last eighteen years, the surrounding areas had developed with high schools, engineering colleges, technical institutions and matriculatiuon schools owing to this population, the station was a single operated and no much expenditure will occur, even if so that may be recovered in a short while due to heavy patronage expected in the station. Even very low patronaged station like veerarakkiyam, thimmatchipuram, marudur, jeeyapuram and mekkudi are being operated taking consideration of the public.
The puliyur chettinad cements and the chettinad college of engineering and technology will help financing for the puliyur station,if approached through proper channel.
Because of elimination of this station earlier all the S.T holders, college and school students take pain to travel by bus from puliyur and to reach veerarakkiyam.this reintroduction of this station will ease all these people to use puliyur station for their journey to kulithalai and trichy,etc.comfortably.
Thanking you

Train AC Coaches — Cockroaches inside the coach
Sir,This is to bring to your notice that the cleanliness in some of the AC coaches, of Mumbai Express (Train No.6340), is very bad - to the extent that passengers have seen coackroaches roaming inside the AC Coaches. This experience was on train tarveling from Bangalore to Mumbai, on 7th May, 2008
In addition, the quality of bed roll, blankets, etc. is very very bad.
With all the profits that Indian Railways is making, why is this situation worser than past. As customers, we are not demanding ultimate luxury, but an AC coach should at least be clean & free of coackroaches, & the bedsheets, blankets, also are supposed to be in clean condition. For some reason, if this calls for replacing all the existing stock that the Indian Railways has, it should be done asap.
Expecting a prositive response.
Regards
Manoj Kabre
