I am a doctor working in Dubai, UAE with NRI status and my family is in Jaipur, India. I or my family keep on travelling regularly between Jaipur and Dubai. Since I have only foreign credit card, hence I book my airline tickets for me and my family through this foreign credit card.
Recently, I faced lot of harassment by the Spicejet airlines staff on which I had booked my ticket for travel from Jaipur to Dubai on 30 May 2017. At the Jaipur boarding counter I was asked to show the credit card through which the ticket was booked. Since I have numerous foreign credit cards and I cannot carry all of them during my travel, and I was unaware of this rule or requirement; hence I did not have the credit card and I was refused for travel, and had to book a new flight ticket again. Earlier, I or my family has been travelling repeatedly on Spicejet through my foreign credit card booked tickets, but was never asked to show the credit card.
The Spicejet airlines showed me the terms and conditions of their airline which states that 'For all foreign (Non Indian) credit/debit card payments, the card must be produced for physical verification at the airport check-in counter if the passenger is the cardholder. In case the card holder is not travelling, it is mandatory for the passenger to furnish to the airport check-in staff a physical copy of the front side of credit/debit card duly authorized by the card holder, along with cardholder's valid proof of identification and passenger's valid photo ID proof'. The airlines have refused to address my concerns beyond this rule.
I have been using these foreign credit cards for numerous transactions and travels worldwide, but so far have never been asked to show the credit card by the mercantile.
1) Is this rule by private airline carrier legally valid to refuse me travel?
2) Can such discriminatory rule for only foreign credit cards be made by such private agencies?

I am writing to you after lot of desperation and with full hope that you will address this discriminatory, illogical, illegal and user unfriendly rule, so as to avoid harassment to the public affected largely by this ruling

    But i am not receive any pnr conformation or e ticket so i speak to mr deivendran [mobile no is [protected]]on 17 apr 17/1338 hrs, he said did not make any pnr for you, your money can refund to you. Till my amount was not refund me. Kindly take action.

      Dear Spicejet Customer Care

      I have booked 5 spicejet flight tickets from kolkata to guwahati on 25/7/2016 with the travel date 3/01/2017. I had to cancel the flight tickets on 25/12/2016 due to some unavoidable circumstances. Inspite of calling the customer care of spicejet and writing mails several times and doing all the necessary procedures for refunding the money, till today I have not got my money back. Spicejet is just conning the passengers and this is very disappointing and unfair.

        Dear Customercare of Spicejet,

        On our flight from Amritsar to Mumbai, one of my large new bags was torned open along threads which looked like an attempt to steal contents Or very very rough baggage handling. (And this is not for the first time with Spicejet). Also this new bag is so dirty and torn I doubt what management and maintenance you have with the luggage section.

        We have immediately put complaint with Spicejet counter at Mumbai (no. 30107, Aircraft no. SG 415, Amritsar-Mumbai). Spicejet called while ago offering compensation of Rs. 1000/- for a bag which cost us 6700/- bought only a month ago.

        Kindly look into the matter and do the needful at the earliest.

          The spicejet max offers 5 services. The person at the counter made me believe that i would get the best services possible. I was not given priority over anything. I had to remind them that i had booked a meal. I got my luggage probably the last out of everyone. This is an utter waste of money. To top it all they lied my saying that the second row had leg space which it didn't. I went to the authorities and they were laughing at our faces. As if i had cracked a joke

            We had a flight today at 1 u must be thinking at 1 in the afternoon no 1 in the early morning... N no help many other passengers like us assumed it in the afternoon n went back disappointment very back spicejet... Will never ever opt for spicejet ever in life.. Guys wake up these people are very helpless n they just replied buy a new ticket like they r asking us to buy a piece of cake... Pathetic flight

              Spicejet sale is just a scam. i checked many destinations and different dates and i could not find it. also the fares shown were exorbitant. its a scam. if spicejet had noble intentions it can put out the dates; number of tickets available on that day such that it makes it easier for consumer. But no they are just scamming

                This is to bring to light the Rs 12 promotional anniversary scheme started by Spice jet dated 23rd May. Under this scheme the base fare was Rs 12 and taxes were to be borne as per rules. However Spicejet has charged an exorbitant sum in the name of airline fuel charges and taxes and the fare of Rs 3100 turned out to be more than the normal fare for Hyderabad to Benguluru return fare which is around 2800/- maximum. Please initiate a compensation for the loss occured. Even today If I try to book tickets for the same dates, the fares are lower per person without promotions.

                As per your statement, they have looted you by giving promotional offers to you. Also if you understood their fair policy against promotional offers means just look at their policy. If you felt that they have crossed / breached the rules means suite the case in Consumer court against the service provider. Also you may claim the some amount as a loss.

                  Refer to their rs. 12 ad in all newspaper - hidden non - refundable huge charge in name of airline fuel surcharge.
                  Same day same sector dubai - it charge rs. 9470 against propoganda of rs. 12 ticket while if one opt for higher base fare of rs. 8455 than same. Be rs..1000.
                  Delhi - dubai sector example.
                  Hidden excess charges of rs. 8470 which is non - refundable too.

                    Really bad service @Mumbai airport when my family returned from Goa. My parents who were wheelchair bound had to wait for a really long time due to shortage of one wheelchair and exited after nearly an hour. My mother's walker was damaged when the person assisting my parents put it with the luggage. I am really disappointed that the inconvenience and discomfort caused even after paying an additional amount for them to be taken care of.

                      I had my 2 nos ticket booked for traveling from Kolkata to Chandigarh on date 18/05/2017 PNR No. ZYS3VW and HEWV6E. My wife was 7 months pregnant and While getting a boarding pass they asked for the confirmation from doctor that she can fly.
                      I showed them all my reports stating her condition was normal with no complication. But staff immediately cancelled our tickets for the reason that it was not mentioned that she can fly too (we travelled from Chandigarh to Kolkata 27 days back on same reports) and told that the amount will be refunded after some deductions.
                      Now with a 7 month pregnant lady I traveled 7 kms by road back to home then to the doctor for getting that confirmation to fly. Then I again booked my tickets to Delhi (Costlier than my previous cancelled tickets by approx 4 thousand rupees) as it was urgent for me to reach chandigarh same day and also I was not able to afford the flight to chandigarh due to high prices now. Traveled again 7 kms to Aiport by road. Now from Delhi to Chandigarh I again traveled 250 Kms approx by road.
                      I think the mental and physical harassment crossed it limits. She would had easily traveled through 4.30 hours duration of flight rather than getting so unforgettable traveling by road.
                      This mental, physical and financial harassment (already conveyed to the employee who cancelled tickets that it will happen to me) made me to complaint about them. Till now there is no confirmation or communication made about cancellation and refund. This was very unprofessional behavior. They would have easily get my wife checked by their doctors including no complication report from my doctor.

                        Received this letter on 20.5.2017 on 9.40am offering me job in spicejet and thus demanding cash.
                        i believe such scam should be made public so that proper invertigation can be made.
                        also no employer can demand any form of monetary kind for employment

                        please look into the matter as soon as possible as it is a rampage scam to loot the young aspiring youths who are in search of employment

                          I had booked the sg-150 flight to delhi on 8th'may'2107 from bangalore to newdelhi through pnr#oy3vww scheduled at 00:20am.

                          The flight take off got delayed by more than two hours from bangalore and due to this i missed my connecting flight from goair (Pnr#3239wz) to leh scheduled at 5:10am.

                          Due to the spicejet flight delay, i had to pay additional rs.9750/- (Rupees nine thousand seven hundred fifty only) for goair to get the next flight to leh which was scheduled at 8:40am.

                          Would require your consideration to re-imburse my additional amount since it was entirely spicejet delay mistake which made me get into un-wanted trouble and also ended up paying additional amount for my on-ward flight.

                          Hope to hear from you at the earliest.

                            Hi,
                            Subject: Reimbursement of Boarding and Lodging expense for Cancellation of flight

                            I was scheduled to departure from Srinagar to chennai on 17th May 2017 at 16:45
                            This flight was cancelled due to operational reasons and I was not provided with alternative flight and I got update from customer care that for next two days there are no flights.

                            Because of cancellation of this flight I missed important meetings and incurred additional expense of rs.20, 000

                            Kindly arrange for reimbursement of expenses and do the needful.

                              My name is rajasree p nair, designation municipal secretary/commissioner. I really had a bad experience yesterday 16 may 2017. Booked ticket sg561 delhi - cochin, departure 6:30 a. M. Due to the wrong information i got from the customer care service of the spicejet i had to roam around the international airport two times. They confused me about the terminal where the departure of the flight is scheduled. The result even though i had reached the airport on time, i was refused the boarding pass on the ground that boarding closed. I begged the supervisor a woman on duty that morning that i have to attend a meeting scheduled on that day and the wrong information i got from their customer care. Her behaviour is the most worst. She treated the fellow passenger including me very badly. Very eager to make our exit out. Together with the mental agony of missing a flight without any refund, i was forced to book another flight on the high price. Very bad and ridiculas behaviour from that supervisory woman staff i decided in future i will not opt this airline. My grievance that i want the full refund of the ticket i booked on the spicejet 561. Pnr nov44sjl. And direction to be given to the staffs to deal the customer properly and in a respect ful msnner

                                I was supposed to board a flight SG 612 from Chennai to Mumbai on 16th May 2017 and flight was scheduled at 9.10 pm.

                                We are getting message at 2.30 pm due to operational reasons flight is delay to 10.10 pm.

                                After reaching airport, further at 9.00 pm it's getting announced that flight will take off at 10.40 pm and then later we got the message that flight will take off at 12.40 am

                                What kind of commitment are you giving to your passengers? Running such a huge organiation you don't have spare flight to take the passengers.
                                No one has any assurance when the flight will be schedule.

                                It's the most pathetic service and in lieu of cheap flights you are cheating the customers. We want highly compensation for the same, else the same will go to other source of media.

                                We can rate "The flight with most pathetic service "

                                  I'm making a petition to request Spicejet to be a little user friendly with regards to cancellation fee charges. When faced with a situation of booking onward and return, both on SpiceJet and the return is accidentally booked on the wrong sector. I made a note to cancel the ticket immediately and book the correct sector (which was also Spicejet). I was charged 60% towards the cancellation fee. Now I'm not saying it's my fault. I only wish Spicejet had better policy of helping their customers rather than ripping them off. The new tickets costed me Rs. 6900. The difference was only Rs. 1800. Now I end up paying almost over Rs. 10, 000 due to this mess. Please have better cancellation policies and try to at least "MAKE AN ATTEMPT" to help your customers.

                                    I travelled from Delhi to Bengaluru on 14th May in 01:00 A.M flight. I took spice max facility and I was charged 1000rs for that. I was told that that I would be provided with priority baggage handling and prority boarding along with other benefits. I was neither provided Priority boarding or Priority baggage handling. In fact I received my luggage after 25 mins of de boarding of flight. What is the use of paying extra when i had to wait for my luggage for so long.

                                      Everyone always told me that Spicejet is a bad airline but I never really paid heed to it.
                                      However, me and my family (Mom, Dad and Me) were in for a shock on 11th May when we travelled on the flight number GF5SRE from DEL-MAA with departure scheduled at 14:40.

                                      We were seated by 2:20 and we kept waiting to fly off. The plane was very suffocated with dirty seats. The AC wasn't working properly. Many passengers complained to the crew about the poor state of cooling and the crew said that it will get better when we fly off.

                                      The aircraft didn't move from its place till 3:10pm. We were all sweating by then. We asked the crew multiple times about the delay in take off and they said that there is some approval issue.

                                      Then the plane started to take rounds of the runway and went round and round for close to 20-25 mins. The plane finally took off at 3:36pm.

                                      My dad was seated in row 23 in the aisle seat while mom and me were seated in the 25th row - Right in front of the lavatory.

                                      Suddenly my dad started feeling uneasy because of the suffocation inside the aircraft and the heat and specially the fact that we were stuck in that aircraft without flying off for about 1 hour.

                                      He was experiencing nausea and suddenly fainted close to us. My mom and dad are doctors (thank god for that) so mom immediately suggested that he be laid down and we must raise his legs to increase the blood flow to heart and brain. However, we were shocked to find that there was no sickness bay or even a slab where he could've been laid. The crew helped us out a lot but neither did they have a bedsheet or any area where my dad could be laid down. Also, it was said that the aircraft is full so we can't even lay him down on any of the seats.

                                      We were forced to lay him down in the aisle and we raised his legs.
                                      There was no official medical help or doctor on the airplane. The plane even didn't have any basic medical equipments like a BP apparatus etc.
                                      They didn't even have a bedsheet on board. When asked, the crew mentioned that they had nothing because it's a low cost airline.
                                      How is a Rs 4600 flight per person a low cost airline. And are we supposed to believe that there is no value of life in a low cost airline ????

                                      Then my dad had to be rested down for a while so we took him to the service area in the back and he laid down on the floor for an hour while I sat next to him on the floor.

                                      I am ashamed that such airlines with such facilities operate in our country. The cabin crew tried to help us out a lot but even they were helpless as they had no facilities on board.

                                      I am going to sue spicejet. Had anything happened to my father I would've filed a case against this airline ( I read an article online where it said that in Jan2017, a female passenger barely 34 years old collapsed and died on a spicejet flight)

                                      Shame on Spicejet for not keeping any basic facilities online and to have such horrible seating and cooling facilities in the name of a low cost airline.

                                      I will make sure that no one from who I can influence ever travels in these so called irresponsible 'low cost airlines'.

                                      I am also going to lodge a complaint with the aviation ministry.
