• Travel date- 01.02.2013 through Spicejet.
• Travel Details- Male’ –Kochi (SG-3902 14.45 Hrs to 17.05 Hrs) Kochi ( SG-118 18.40 Hrs. to 20.40 Hrs)-Mumbai
• Brief Background -I was working as Finance Controller for a Five Star Resort in Maldives. I got a new assignment in Africa and decided to come back to my home country to fly to my new destination of work. I winded up and packed all my personal belongings from Male’ in one bag.
• Checked in Bag- 1 bag – American Tourist, 27 KG at Male’airport. All the items were kept in this bag and there was no hand bag, which please note.
• The Items lost/ stolen were- American Tourist bag, Cloths- Pants/ Shirts/T-shirts/shorts/Jeans/undergarments/cot, socks handkerchief, Sandals, Transition specs, Personal items i.e. Comb, Nail cutter, Nail sharpener, Deodorants, perfumes, Trimmer/shaver, blades, buds, Foams, Toothpastes, Toothbrush, tongue cleaner,aftershaves, Towels, Napkins, Medicines, Belt, Mobile-Blackberry 8900 having all important contact details, Hair treatment medicines- i.e. Hair tonic, hair nourisher, Hair oil, Food supplement for Hair, hair shampoo , All bank pass books, important official document, Headphone. Webcam, leather belt etc.
• Point 1-The flight time from Male’to Kochi was 14.45 Hrs. Being international flight, we have to check in before 3 hours i.e. 11.45hrs. The flight was delayed to 18.20 hrs. i.e. delay by almost 3.5 hours. The passenger has checked in at 11.45 Hrs and waited for almost 6.5 hours for the flight, causing him great wait, hardship and loss of time. The announcement for free meal was made at the airport and passengers were asked to come at the restaurant of the floor for lunch but the announcement was recalled by the spicejet. No arrangement for the passengers were made by the airline.
• Point 2-The flight arrived at Kochi at 20.40 hrs. Since, the flight from Male’to Kochi was delayed; the connecting flight from Kochi to Mumbai of spicejet could not be connected. Spicejet, made the standby arrangement with Go-air to fly from Kochi to Mumbai G8345. The flying time, was 21.00hrs. We booked the flight of spicejet but spicejet, for their own convenience shifted the service provider to Go-air, without informing us in advance and without our consent.
• Point 3-The passengers going to Mumbai, were asked to finish the immigration formality, pick the luggage, get the same cleared from customs, move from international to domestic entrance and to get ready for the connecting flight of 21.00hrs. Since the time between the connecting flights was just 20 minute, Manual Boarding pass was issued by Go-air and luggage baggage was not checked in. We were just asked to keep the luggage at the counter and were asked to pick the same from Mumbai air-port. This was the negligent and unprofessional approach at the end of spicjet to suit their requirement.
• Point 4-The flight landed at Mumbai at 23.00 hrs. The baggages were not arrived at the Mumbai airport of all passengers flying from Male’ and the baggage irregularity report for all passengers was prepared and we were informed that bag will be connected on 02.02.2013.
• Point 5- I went on two days to Mumbai domestic airport for picking my bag but was asked to wait for 3 hours to talk with the concerned floor staff on lost baggage. Further, I made more than 50 calls to different staff members dealing with lost baggage but did not receive any response from them. Upset with this treatment and the kind of pathetic service, I finally decided to cancel my return ticket from Mumbai-kochi-Male but spicejet, instead of showing a goodwill gesture for the passenger, has charged 1800/- towards cancellation charges.
