Kind Attn : Mr.Nilufer Mullanfiroze, GeneralManager- Retail Banking Products Sir, I have gave you a mail on 13.03.2015 regarding the below mentioned matter, but no answer/reply I have received tilldate. I, Shri Tridip Nath residing at R/AB6, Raghunathpur, Kolkata-700059, Mobile-[protected] maintaining Platinum Visa Credit Card of Standard Chartered Bank (Card No.[protected]) for last five years. Whenever I used my Credit Card, I make the payment within due date and also annual fee within time. I am a valuable customer in your Bank and maintaining good fruitful relationship with your esteemed organization. Thefacts is that- I have taken a Dial-a-loan offer on SCB Credit Card Loan of Rs.85000/- from Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) for a period of 36 months vide Cheque No.358061dt. 08.10.2014. I have paid 1st instalment on 25.11.2014 for Rs.3221/- and 2nd instalment on 16.12.2014 for Rs.3221/- and also processing fee of Rs.1700/- within time. On 05.01.2015, I contact your customer care department regarding preclosure of loan which I have taken from your bank, that I will preclose my loan amount and how much amount I have to pay for preclosure, which I have taken from you. Your Executive told me the amount which I have to pay including 4% preclosure interest on the remaining principal and including my 3rd EMI of Rs.3221/- also, i.e. Rs.83089/- and also told me you have to preclose within 3 days from the date of the request. On 06.01.2015, I made the full payment of Rs.83089/-, payment receipt is enclosed for your ready reference. Again on 24.02.2015, I rang to your Customer care of SCB regarding issuance of NOC that I have made full payment of Rs.83089/-. Your Executive given me the Request No.[protected] dt.24.02.2015 at time 18.53 p.m. and told me that there is no dues in your account and your account has no outstanding. Your account has been closed. On27.02.2015, I got a message on my mobile that your payment is overdue. Kindly make the payment. I rang to your Customer care on 10.03.2015 regarding What payment is overdue ? One of your lady executive has told me that you have to pay Rs.3219.63 for another EMI. I cannot understand what she is saying. I toldhim I have preclosed the whole amount of Rs.83089/- on 06.01.2015 and also the above Request No. I have given, but she is presurrised me that you have to pay another EMI of Rs.3219.63 with additional charges. I am trying to explain him that this is not my fault. I have pay all your dues and I have preclosed my loan amount. But she is not in a position to understand. I think your people are intentionally harassing me because I have preclosed my whole loan amount of Rs.83089/- on 06.01.2015 and also giving request for preclosing the loan amount on 05.01.2015 and also your executive has told me after preclosing your whole amount there will be no outstanding in your loan account. Your account is closed. So how you have generated another EMI of Rs.3219.63 ? Hence my request to you, please waived my EMI of Rs.3219.63, which you have generated after preclosure of my loan amount on 06.01.2015, because I am maintaining my family consisting six members. I am in financial crisis. I hope you will understand the circumstances. I once again sincerely apologiz efor the inconvenience caused. TRIDIP NATH

I have a personal loan(reference#[protected] from this bank since 15-Apr-2013(for 5years) and my ECS is scheduled on 15th every month from my HDFC account. Since I switched my company so I had to change my salary account from HDFC to Kotak. Kotak provides the service to schedule the NEFT payment and i opted to use this service rather than going for change in ECS clearing account. I started using this service and everything was fine till November'14 where in I did not check for the balances and expected that NEFT would go fine and it was failure. I missed notification from kotak for the same and i was not even remembering that ECS might have got bounced and this is where i came to know about the so called norms of SCB to fool/misguide the customers by appointing third-party vendors. Since I defaulted in payment on time, so I was liable for ECS bounce charges and i appreciated reminder when third-party person called on behalf of SCB mentioning that i have defaulted the payment. He mentioned that since I have defaulted, so I can pay the combined sum of EMI and bounce charges through sc.com and they can stop the re-presentation of ECS on my account if I provide them transaction number before next presentation date i.e. 23rd. I made payment(EMI15, 859 + Bounce charges 880) on 20th November'14 through bill desk suspecting that how can i trust if the person was officially authorised from bank. I was again called back by the person on 21st and i provided him the transaction reference number which obviously was safe thing for me to ensure that i am not providing anything which i should not do and at the same time prevent re-presentation if person is authorised personnel from bank. But to my bad, though this person was authorised from bank but he did not stop re-presentation and during representation 15, 859 were again deducted from my bank account moreover, my bank HDFC also charged me rs 393 as ECS bounce charge which make me feel more bad. On 26th November, i got a call from the same person and i yelled at him like anything that why did he give me false promise/misguided that he can stop presentation to which he apologised and said that he can arrange DD for me of the excess EMI paid/he can stop Decembers ECS to which i thought let it be since it was once in a while and i was anyway defaulter. But since then i thought i would ensure that i do not have to pay the bounce charges which for me were hefty (880SCB+400HDFC) and i cancelled scheduled payments of kotak. But again in february unfortunately i missed transferring EMI to my HDFC since i was out of station i again defaulted the ECS due to insufficient balance. Again the same thing the third party employee called mentioning i missed ECS and i can pay the EMI + bounce charges through bill desk same way i paid last time but this time since i was out of station tlll 18th so i could not pay it online and these third party were calling me everyday from 16 to 18 from different numbers and even i bared their calls as an alert for myself but this time I realised their cheapness and norms of SCB. On 19th February, I paid just my EMI amount rs15, 859 considering last time conversation with other person of option available from their side to collect bounce charges from home. On 20th the other person called me again which was 4th consecutive day and i told him that i have made payment through bill desk and helped him with transaction number of the payment under assumption that he would stop ECS re-presentation. I was waiting for the 23rd to get completed and if they stop re-presentation then i would pay them the bounce charges but as i expected they did not do this time also and I contacted customer care of SCB and of no help the customer care person said that to stop presentation/re-presentation i would have to visit branch and provide application for same mentioning the reason. I was very upset with the way i was treated and was feeling as if I am the culprit of their mis-communication. AFTERMATH!! SCB also deducted 841rs without my consent from my HDFC bank account with HDFC bank charging me 393 again. This doesn't even end here again they are calling me for bounce charges again and i fired them like anything. Now, I decided that i am not going to tolerate this anymore and would not receive any of the calls from SCB. BOUQUET OF DEPRECIATION !!! The third party and even the official customer care(starting with 0124) is calling me everyday before the banking hours 8.30am and 9.30am since then. I have been courteous enough to them now by not attending their calls. I have now decided that i am not going to pay them through ECS come what may be consequence, as in era of CUSTOMER FACILITATION they are actually creating CUSTOMER FRUSTRATION. I made a payment of EMI through Bill Desk only this month i.e. March 2015 and would continue the same way. Can't tolerate anymore frustration from them. Just to add something more. I had provided them with my personal email ID(for receiving alerts) while applying for personal loan but they still maintain my earlier organisations email as my primary email ID which they had maintained while providing me the credit card earlier(even with i had bad experience of similar kind and i closed that). I had called their customer care for updating the same after i missed EMI for first time and they said that i would have to fill form again and submit it in branch. Why would i do that for somebody else's mistake and that too when branch is too far from my place ? I had no intention of raising this as concern but wanted everyone to be aware of customer harrasmment techniques employed by SCB.

I had a SCB Manhattan Credit Card which got stolen in May 2013. I immeditaly informed the SCB Call Center within 2 hours, as soon as I realised the same. However by then 2 transactions had happened on the Card. I refused to make payment on the card, as the signature on the Charge Slip does not match my signature. SCB says that whether it matches or not, you are liable to pay the amount. I have also cited to them a similar case in which Maharashtra Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission ( http://archive.indianexpress.com/news/disputed-transaction-bank-to-pay-for-purch... ) had asked them to pay the amount back to the customer. The Commission had said that it is the bank's liability to match the signature on the Charge Slip before paying the merchant and the customer cannot be charged. Despite this the bank continues to charge me on the statement and my CIBIL record is getting affected. I would have no option other than taking it up with the Consumer Courts to get it resolved as multiple followups with the bank have not heeded any result.

This is with respect to Standard Chartered Credit Card [protected] given to me free in a promotion approx. ten years ago. In April 2006, I found that I was charged for a transaction not authorised by me and duly reported the same. Bills were paid after netting off disputed amount as I was in dialogue with the Customer Care team and as instructed by them. However they continued to charge me late fee without resolving my issue. I got fed up following up with them and cancelled my card. Despite this they went on to charge me an Annual Renewal fee in May 06 ( this was never told to me at the time of giving the card – in fact I was told the card was free! ). They finally wrote to me acknowledging my cancellation in Aug 2006. At this time the outstanding was approx. 4000/- which included 1852/disputed amount and 2000/- renewal fee. All other payments were cleared by me. I clearly told them that this outstanding was incorrect as I had cancelled my card and my dispute was unresolved. I never heard from Standard Chartered thereafter and naturally I assumed the matter closed. Recently, I was shocked to learn that Standard Chartered continued to show outstanding in my name impacting my Cibil Rating. I have never heard back from Standard Chartered Bank in all these years and am a victim of Standard Chartered Banks Mis Handling and Mis communication to Cibil. Please help in correct closure and correcting my credentials at Cibil.

To Whom So ever it may concern. Account No: [protected] Bank Name: Standard Chartered Bank Branch: M.I.Road, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Firm Name: Vivanta We have an Over draft account here in Jaipur. Our account has been active since August 2013. You can check the account details. I would like to put across my concerns straight away. Concern 1:- We got a limit of 1.25 crores initially. We were not comfortable with it, because we wanted lower limits. But bankers kept saying that they do not work on ticket sizes of less than 1 crore. For which we got charged Banking charges of Rs 105337.50/-. Before sanctioning such a amount I am sure the bankers could have understood our turnover by seeing our statements. We had a small turnover. I don know how on earth was the bank expecting us to achieve a turn over of 10 crores in 10 months. While our turnover was comparitively much lesser. In August 2014, our limits got revised to 50 lacs, with which we are comfortable and have not complained against it too. But now why does the bank work on ticket sizes less than 1 crore. Are you lying to your customers? By charging high banking charges and then later revising them. Infact from January to July, my limits had been seized to 32 lacs merely because our turnover was not being met. Obviously, it could not meet. Our firm is a small start up firm. Which is performing well acccording to its size. I would like you to look into this, and hereby respond to this matter. I would like you to revise the charges charged in the beginning, and refund a certain amount. Concern 2:- Recently an L/C had been opened towards my account. The L/C had opened on 19th january 2015 which got discounted on 24th February 2015. In total it took 37 Days to discount. I understand a bank taking 15 days to discount an L/C but 37 days? That is ridiculous. We are being charged interest on our over draft for those extra days only due to incompetency of the bank. Firstly, the document was sent to the wrong address, which wasted 5 working days. And for which i had to personally send somebody to collect from Blue dart, which actually should have been done by your bank. Your banker confirmed our address, but the document got sent to some other address. Secondly, another document which was to be sent to the L/C issuers bank which is Oriental Bank of Commerce, got returned and wasted again 4 working days of mine. Now, i only have to ask, if its the banks fault why does the customer suffer for it? I want the interest that I had been charged for these extra days to be refunded. This is absolutely not right. Concern 3:- Tell your bank officials to talk properly to there clients. Your bankers keep telling statements like, we do not work on ticket sizes less than 1 crore and less than 2 crore. Saying that they are doing a favor by allowing my O/D account of 50 lacs to function. I would like to remind you, nobody is doing any favor for anybody. As a bank you work for us and we work for you. Nor am I doing a favor for you and nor are you. I need you but even the bank needs customers like us. That is not how professionals function. This has to be addressed. I would like a written apology for using such statements towards us. Concern 4:- I would also like to know why our interest rates are not being revised when RBI has reduced its REPO rate by in total .50 basis points. I believe that this benefit should be passed on to your customer too. Why are we not getting the benefits of this. Thanking You Chirag Patni Business Manager Vivanta

Recently I got to know from my CIBIL report, a SCB credit card account number ([protected]) is shown as written off with outstanding Rs. 1, 21, 141/-. On inquiry with Standard chartered bank, I got to know that the due is for a Manhattan credit card- [protected], Which was closed in April, 2006. Jan, 2006 - Due was around Rs. 40K Feb, 2006 - Paid Rs. 41000/- on 03-Feb, 06. However bill due shown was 43K Apr, 2006 - Wrong late fees and interest were charged and again bill due shown was Rs. 4010/- On customer care complaint about unnecessary late fees with a lady officer, (don’t remember her name), she agreed to revert the late fees and interest charges of Rs. 2010/-. I paid the rest of amount Rs. 2000/- and card was closed in Apr, 06. No more bill received after Apr, 2006 since the credit card was closed. No further mail received for any dues or any statements. The amount Rs 2010/- which was supposed to be reverted was not reverted. I am informed by customer care that Rs. 2010/- due has become 1.2+ Lacs now. Since it is 10 year old card for which I don't have any old statements and closure letters. I would request SCB officer to revert these penalties and clear my CIBIL records ASAP.

Hello, From Nov 2012 to April 2014, My Salary Account was in Standard Chartered Bank and I was using SCB Credit Card. Everything was going fine until the issues started in DEC 2013- JAN 2014. I forgotten my user Id & password of my SCB account and even after my several request, the issue was not resolved for months. These issues frustrated me lot because I was not able to do any fund transfer through online not even to do online payment for credit card. However, the delay was not due to my mistake but it was due to poor customer support of Standard Chartered. During those days, 90% of my time, I was travelling to out station (In the remote areas) and I was not able to see any SC ATM to deposit the Cheque also. I had only choice of making payment through online and I was stuck. In JAN 2014, I got transferred to Vizag from Kolkata and there is no SCB office or ATM in Vizag. On 11th FEB 2014, I had written to SCB Customer Care "I am simply surprised how you people are sitting so relaxed for last 2 months without solving a customer's issue, if I don't get my issues resolved in next 24 hours, I will switch over my salary account to other Bank account " But even after this kind of mail, the same was not resolved and at last I switched my salary account to other Bank. Meanwhile, SCB kept putting late fine and charges on me, Should we allow SCB to make money in unethical way? Keeping the issues which I was facing due to SCB; I preferred to switch over my salary account to other bank account and on 9th April 2014 itself, I did online payment of INR 20, 000.00. As per my expectation it was the settlement amount which I paid to close the card. Today on 26th FEB 2015, after discussion with SCB Dues Department, I again paid INR 33, 070.00 to SCB for closing the card. Should I be responsible to pay this money ? So who will be accountable for this delay SCB or I? Now and In fact, I am really disappointed to say that because of poor customer support from SCB, I could not be able to make the credit card payment on time and I have enough evidence for same. I have all the communication details and I want to take legal action against SCB for making money in the unethical way. Best Regards, Sunil Jha Visakhapatnam Mobile: +91-[protected]

This was with reference to Standard Chartered Bank credit card # [protected] which was never used by me, issued around ten years back. This card was issued to me as a free credit card and was never informed me while issuing that annual fees are applicable after 1 year. As i was using other bank credit card during that period, this credit was never used by me. Suddently after one year of issuance, I had received a call from the bank to pay annual charges, at the same time I told very clearly that the same was not informed to me while issuing the card and i did not want to contiune this card and requested to cancel my card. After that, i had never received any credit card statement with charges outstanding or never received a call. I was under impression the matter has been sorted out and my card has been cancelled. But I was shocked to see that my cibil score had "written off" outstanding payments towards this card which was never used by me and was unaware of. Before that all these years, i had never received any mail/hard copy of Card Statement from Bank detailing any of outstanding or had never been communicated by Bank about any balances to be paid or any due amount against this card. Considering the above facts, I sincerely urge you to remove this record from my CIBIL report as i was the victim of misselling by bank. Looking forward to receive the positive revert from the bank.

Hi Team, I, Irfan Mansoori, would like your assistance regarding illegal charges that have been levied on my CC account. I had applied for CC loan from SCB CC team which I was given on a monthly EMI of around INR 5300 pm. My primary account "A" was bifurcated by the CC team into 2 separate accounts "B" and "C". My first payment I made in Dec'14 on my primary account "A". To confirm the receipt of the payment, when I called the CC team, they confirmed that yes the payment has been received and it will be bifurcated into the accounts "B" & "C" and henceforth the same will be done automatically. However, this was not the case. After 2 months i.e. in Feb'15 statement, I was shocked to see that INR 1500 has been charged to my account for non-payment of my dues (which I had already paid in Dec'14). On cross-checking with the CC team, I came to know that the they had not deposited part of my payment in account "C" due to which the charges was erroneously debited to my account. When I complained about the same, they confirmed that the charges will be reversed, however still asking to pay around INR 750 i.e. half of the charges since the statement was generated. Why should I bear the consequences of the error done by the CC team ??? I had made the payment on time, and if its not properly updated in SCB system, is it my error ??? Today, I even went to SCB branch at Malad Link Road, besides Infinity Mall II for assistance. However, the lady at the Service Desk was not at all looking interested in even understanding my query. Indirectly, she was telling me to make the total payment (including false charges) or there will be trailing interest on the same. Is the accounting system of SCB so worse that they cannot even trace and correct the entries of payments or reversals ?? Is the system of SCB so week that they cannot rectify their own errors. I, hereby, would like SCB to immediately take necessary action and remove all the unncessary charges and generate a new statement with the exact and correct dues to be paid on my account. I request the concerned team to henceforth make such required arrangements so that next time no innocent should fall prey to such unprofessional team of SCB CC. Sincerely, Irfan Mansoori MOB: [protected] SCB CC No. [protected]

The above card has been surrendered to your local Branch, Hyderabad, more than two years ago
and, at my request, this account has been closed. However, I continue to receive your monthly
                                    credit card statements even now.

I had been granted a Credit Limit of Rs.1, 000, 000/- and a Cash Limit of Rs.100, 000/- and these
figures are shown in all the statements generated by you month after month. As I am on tour
frequently, I do not wish that any such statement should fall into the wrong hands in my absence
and thus give room for its misuse. Please, therefore, DISCONTINUE generating monthly statements
                                    on the above card.

A line in confirmation of the above will be appreciated.

This was with reference to my Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card whose account was closed long back around March ‘2009 . For closing my Card Account, I had called Banks Customer Care number for an outstanding account on my card so can make an immediate payment and get my card accounts closed. After getting details of amount to be paid by Customer support officer I have paid payments to my SCB account and always had an understanding that Card had been closed with no outstanding left . But to my surprise, I got a call form SCB around year 2010 (don’t remember the month) about settlement for outstanding against my Card .When I had told them there was no outstanding in this card they called up to meet me in their Andheri office . Upon meeting them I was told I was told by them that there was outstanding payment of approx Rs.900 on my card which now been accumulated to approx .Rs.3000 for which I need to do immediate payment or else my name will blacklisted in cibil records. I explained my case as below 1. I never knew any balance outstanding on my Card as outstanding payment was made only after confirm banks customer support office. 2. I had never received any mail/hard copy of Card Statement from Bank detailing any of outstanding . 3. Or had never been communicated by Bank about any balances to be paid or any due amount. The card settlement team did gave me proposal for settlement by paying approx. Rs.900 which I never agreed to – as it was not mistake but banks and I have been victim of banks irresponsible negligence . Also explained them that my payments records for on this Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card was always been good and was always an good customer of bank . But my request failed on deaf ears of Card team as they were hardly accepting mistake from bank . Recently when one of credit card was rejected due to my written off cibil score, I came to know about that written off outstanding with the card was close to Rs.26000 . When I again had called them a year back - the settlement team inform him about negotiating with them on settlement for the closure of cibil score, which I feel is an blackmailing for no fault of mine. Appreciate i[censored] can help/ guide me how do I get this dispute resolved and how do I file a case with Standard Chartered on getting my dispute resolved ?
