I have standard carted credit card from last three years.I took two policies from Royal Sundaram Health Insurance company for my father and mother on 2011 January and they cam for renewal this year(2013 January). I got a call from standard charted bank and royal sundaram for renewal of existing policies and i agreed for renewal. After getting credit card bill they gave two more new policies of same type which came for renewal. For that i gave a complaint to standard charted bank in February, after that i got call from standard charted bank and they told that you will get a call from processing department for cancelling this policy, and please told them that i am going to continue this policy so that we can cancel that policy in back end in 4 days time. I got confused and i told that i am going to cancel this policy and again i got from another guy and told me that don't tell them i am going to continue this policy, same thing happened around 10 times and finally i told that i am going to continue the policy. But they didn't cancelled the policy. Again i gave complaint so many times and finally they told it's not your, its our mistake we will refund the full amount and they cancelled the policy. But they didn't refund me full amount and that they are not listening my words and credit card balance is increasing month by month.

I Ms Darshana Asodekar, have a Home Loan with Standard Chartered bank (account no.[protected]. My loan amount of Rs.1840000 was disbursed in the month of April 2013 and till date, I have paid 5 EMIs of Rs.17, 745 each. When I opted for this loan, during the procedure I had asked about the lock in period if any it to a Standard Chartered employee from the Jogeshwari East Branch in Mumbai. From this branch, I was told that I can opt for foreclosue any time I wish. Also, there is no such document received from Standard Chartered bank saying that I can't repay the amount before 6 months. Last month I fought for this and they had issued me the preclosure letter. Due to the buyer's loan procedure unfortunately the letter expired on 5th September 2013. From 18th of September I am behind the bank to reissue me the preclosure letter with the updated amount to be paid. Now again they are saying that you can opt for preclosure before completion of 6 months. Once they have issued me the preclosure letter and now they are not issuing. They are purposely delaying it so that i will be forced to pay the next EMI. I am very much disappointed by their this behavior. The branch says something different, phone banking conveys something else & customer care on email writes different. Please help me... I would not be in a condition to pay the loan EMI.

Can any action be taken against Standard Chartered bank for this cheating?
Below is the complete email conversation held with Standard Chartered Bank customer care:

Still there is no reply from this Pathetic Bank!!! Can I expect the preclosure letter today at least!!!

Subject: Re: At Your Service Your Right Partner Standard Chartered Bank (KMM15428785V65658L0KM)

Just now I had received the call from the buyer who has purchased my flat. He is very irate and he is not at all ready to wait for any more time for the original flat documents.
He is saying that his EMIs have started, he is losing money in his EMIs and he says that I have paid you people the full amount from last 10 days and then too I am not getting the deal completed from your side (our side). He is also saying that you people have not shown me any kind of acknowledgement or any proof proving that I have cleared my home loan. He now doubts that instead o[censored]sing the money what he has given to close the loan, I am using it somewhere else. In short, he feels that we are cheating him. If this goes the same way then he will cancel the deal and he will also launch a complaint against me in Police Station.
So now you people tell me, what I am supposed to do. I have the money ready and still you people are not accepting it. Now when I am telling him that again Standard Chartered is not reissuing me the preclosure letter, he is saying you people are fooling me. He says how it can happen that once the bank has given you the preclosure letter and they are not giving it again. And further whatever he says that, that is your problem and I want the documents & want it to be closed.
And as discussed earlier, as we were misguided (given the wrong information), that there is no lock in period of 6 months or so and that is not even documented on any of the Standard Chartered documents we have received. Again I request that this everything was discussed and closed earlier, and then too now just to get the letter revalidated, you people are harassing me.
This is a very bad way Standard Chartered is treating me as a customer. As, I myself have lot of issues going on, I am facing financial crisis & I am very much worried for that, but you people are unnecessarily holding me back in this Loan.
I have already shown the previous preclosure letter in Andheri Brach & if you want I can even send the same.
I hope you people will get some way out for me quickly

Again you people have started harassing me!
I don't understand what the problem in re issuing the letter is. Earlier also, I had to fight for this. I had mentioned earlier also that due to my medical conditions I am unable to continue my job & would not be in a condition to pay the installment amount.

You people already had issued me a preclosure letter and now you just have to reissue the same. Also, the preclosure letter dated 21st August, which was given to me is not updated with my account. Hence the phone banking or the branch people are also not able to address it. If you want, I can attach a scanned copy of the preclosure letter issued to me which has expired on 5th September 2013.

I cannot wait till 9th of October. In fact I want a preclosure letter by Monday ie. 30th September 2013. The day I get the preclosure letter, that same day I will pay the amount to Standard Chartered..

This is the worst service I have seen. I am very much upset by Standard Chartered Bank's way of working. There is too much of ambiguity in your phone banking, branches & customer care!

I seriously regret taking a loan from Standard Chartered Bank!

        Dear Manju,

Please find the below trail mail regarding the preclosure letter (Reference number [protected]).

With the help of the preclosure letter issued to me, I could proceed with the resell of my flat. But the party who is buying my flat had applied for a loan. In this process, my date of preclosure expired and hence now request you to reissue the preclosure letter.

I called the phone banking number for reissuing me the preclosure letter. They asked me to contact the nearest branch. So I visited, Andheri west branch on 23rd September 2013 & requested them to put a request of preclosure letter. But there is no feedback...

I am still waiting for the preclosure letter!!!

        This is not the solution!!!

If a person is not able to pay his future EMIs and for that purpose if he wishes to sell the flat and close the account, you (Standard Chartered) can take some preclosure charges, but must help the customer in settling it...

But instead of supporting or helping the customer, STANDARD CHARTERED is harassing a customer like me!

Recently, my husband visited STANDARD CHARTERED's Andheri Branch, where a home loan account officer said that there are no preclosure charges for closing the account before 6 months and also there is no such locking period...
Before taking this loan, the executive in Jogeshwari (Manoj Kasare) also said that there is no such locking period & no preclosure charges.

If they would have informed me first, I would not have taken this home loan from STANDARD CHARTERED bank.

Any which ways, I am not at all happy with this service now and do not wish to have any future service from STANDARD CHARTERED.

I had been using Standard Chartered Bank credit card number [protected] since last many years with good credit payment records. Lately I was not happy with the services of the bank as they were imposing late payment fee and banking charges in spite of my making payments before the due date, on account of their payment posting problems.

As a result I am making a full and final payment of Rs. 5262.00 today by online banking from my HDFC bank account. This is as per their 25th Sep' 2013 statement, which is after imposing multiple months interest charges and late payment fee, in spite of my making regular payments. I also want to put on records that I had cut the credit card and sent it back to them long time back and had informed them the same.

This is my FINAL payment to them and I do not want to see any account statement for this card number as the card is not in possession any more as it does not exist.

This complaint is being made so as to tighten the said bank on harassment of the customers.

I already have other credit cards with no yearly fees, and also I was not at all interested in taking it up, it was banks executive who insisted me repeatedly just to achieve the monthly target. During the discussion with one of the banks executive while the application process, I was told that I will be contacted after completion of year to know my willingness to continue with it. Yes you are right.
At least bank have take necessary action of blocking card.
Bank have all detail of card holder like date of birth, billing address, pan card number, mobile number or residence number. by this way they can fatch all the details.
If they are not blocking the card than you have to go to nearest branch and contact branch manager.

This is my suggestion if this help you.

The fact is that, I have two other Airtel seems which are also registered at my name and these two seams are using by my wife and daughter. After that several calls and blank messages have come throughout the night from Vodafone no[protected] and it continued till 2 p.m. next day.
On 20th morning I found that a message has come from Standard Chartered Bank that, an online transaction of Rs 950/- has been made against my credit card. I immediately contacted SCB customer care and block my card immediately. Dear Madam /Sir, Couple of years back Standard chartered bank sales department called me and offered a PLATINUM REWARD credit card with free joining fee and free annual fee (charges) as my salary was more that 65,000.00 rupees per month as per their criteria. I reconfirmed the same couple of times and then gave my documents for the subscription of their credit card. But after taking my documents they gave me with a TITANIUM CARD with annual subscription fee for which I did not agree and wanted to submit back. Then they apologized and asked to keep the card for that time being and committed to review and get back to me with a platinum reward card within six months. Of course the waived the joining fee and the first year annual fee but did not do any review or get back to me within six months. Now for the second year they have charged the subscription fee and not responding to my mails at all. I asked them to call me and discuss about that but no response. In the mean time my contact number is changed and there is no way to update the new number on their website if the old number is not existing as they have an one time password policy to the old number. I intimated them with my new number. They did not call me regarding the on going issue but their sales department person called me and visited to my address and offered the platinum reward credit card again. He ensured me that this time he must do it for me. When I asked about my old card he asked me to pay the amount mentioned on the bill and close that. It is really cheating and fraud. I have all the evidence against the communications and can submit if required. My name is Sitakanta Acharya and the complaint reference number with the bank is " (KMM9721517I15977L0KM) " i.e. continuing for more than two years with no resolution. They are continuing adding the late fee and other charges to the annual fee they charged this time. I will be thankful if the problem is resolved. Sincerely, Sitakanta Acharya

Just reply to my email with no resolution. Further there are false claims by customer care officer, "Sandhya S" that I wished to continue with the Credit card but the truth is I never received a call from CC after placing the request for cancellation of Credit Card. Due to this careless attitude and false statements by CC executives I have decided to cut all the connections with the SC bank and also close my 8 years old Saving Bank Account. Please go through the entire communication below in last 7 days [protected][protected][protected][protected][protected][protected][protected] Please be advised that I have never recieved any call from bank executive and nor I wish to continue with this Card. My Name is Mohan Nainani, I have a Standard Chartered Credit card. I would like to inform you that the services of standard chartered is pathetic. The customer Care officer are least bother about the customers, As if they are doing a favor by serving the information to the customer. I am using the Standard Chartered credit card from last five years. From past one year i have stop receiving the credit card statement, I had asked for the reversal of the late payment fees, after the confirmation from the sales officer, i made the complete amount of payment, but my late payment as not been reversed. and later when i call the customer care for the confirmation, she was very rude to me. She was talking to me as if she is my boss. After all this experience, i would never recommend anyone for standard chartered. I would request any senior person from standard chartered to please call me and try to resolve the case.

I have paid my due before time and raised a request to close credit card.

But they do not close the credit card first, on saying again and again they closed the credit card and send me a bill of late fee.

I have paid all the amount before time, so no question of late fee.

Please help me out as they sending me a message on phone for false payment and harassing me.

Hello, Few months back I've got a call from Bajaj Finserv Lending for a credit card service with Standard Chartered Bank. They have issued me Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card. I have done shopping just once from that credit card and have got a bill wherein unnecessary charges were applied in my bill. So, I've made a minimum due amount before a due date but later on I've deposited the cheque in favor of My Credit Card Payment but the bank have misplaced my cheque & no communication has been given to me about my detailed bill / payments. After few days of the payment I've got msg from Standard Chartered Bank saying my bill amount is pending. Since that day only I had been calling to the customer care no, of the bank no body is responding to my calls. I've also written a mail to them about this complete issue & have requested to cancel my credit card (Complaint Ref No. - Ref : 08/13/104828/SP/CRD) & have got a mail-reply that my request will be processed in 7 days but no response has been received from them till now & still no one answers the call at customer care no. I am not getting any clear status about my bill payments & credit card cancellation request. So, I would like file a complaint against this fraudulent bank & would also request to take strict action against the bank & help me with a positive outcome.

I am holding a STANDARD CHARTERED MANHATTAN platinum credit card No.: [protected] from 09/11. I have purchased an AC on may-2013 with agreement of amount RS-3333.17 with total 6 installment whereas the entire full payment has been done on 10/06/2013 through VISA power transfer from my axis bank account.

After that transaction I am getting following SMS like
                                    “Hi,the payment for stmt 20/07/13 is due on 12/08/13,Total due:INR [-12,759.95,minimum due:INR
3333.17, please ignore if already aid-team manhattan.”
Though the due amount is negative on next bill another installment charge added with late fee of 500/-.Now my card is blocked. so I contacted to customer care to get the information about the card and explanation of bill but customer care executive told me that the card is blocked cannot check the status.
Please let me know how I can be out of this problem.

                                    Thanks & Regards

A statement was sent on 15th Jul 2013 of 4027 Rs for which I made payment on 18th Jul 2013, Due date of the statement was 5th Aug 2013. Now I received a statement on 15th Aug 2013, which says previous dues not paid, plus late fees plus interest accrued plus current dues. I emailed, lodged a complaint, tried to connect through phone, but no response I got. This had happened second time. They replied that they won''t be able to revert the charges for the first time. This time no response. Worst customer care service.
