Respected sir/Madam,
I am holding your bank’s card for last Eight Years,
But now I am very unsatisfied with the bank services & support. There is issue going on
with my CREDIT-Card
* Two Royal Sunderam policies had been charged to me in the month of November 2007 (In December 3rd to 12JAnaury 2008 I was hospitalized)
When I joined my work & receiving calls from your recovery department, I called up in SCB CCare regarding this matter. I have given request for cancellation of whatever charged to me without constrained. After that I received a call from Chennai regarding
cancellation confirmation department, I accepted the cancellation & finished.
Then somebody from SCB ITO Branch Called me policies are Ok You should opt for the same & will pay in 12 EMI’s. I accepted but told them I will pay only when I receive the policy documents.
Now its 1st March 1, 2008, I spoke to 8 Representatives regarding this matter
1) Sunaina (Call disconnects)
2) Kavita (Call disconnects)
3) Johny (Call disconnects)
4) Chaitanya : - Asked me to call royal sunderam & confirm about the policy.
5) N/A :- Tried to transfer my call to concern person but fails.
6) N/A :- Tried to transfer my call to concern person but fails.
7) N/A :- Tried to transfer my call to concern person but fails.
8) Sunita :- Told me she can not do anything other than deduction of late fees (Which is already been deducted earlier)
I asked her to cancellation of every transaction which is being done without my concern, but she said “I can’t do anything.”
Also I called up Royal Sunderam regarding how many policies they have in my
name & for they have charged to the bank.(They Found my policy no’s only after
getting my credit card no, I didn’t know about the policy name/No)
They told me they have two policies charged to the bank
a) Health Policy, Dated 22/01/08, Amount of 8250/-
b) Personal accident, Dated 03/12/08, amount 9662/-
I denied they never receive any call from SCB bank regarding cancellation of policy.
Now my complaint is
1) Firstly Why Bank is asking dues for Thee Policies (As informed to me by Chaitanya?)
22-01-08 =8250/-Rs
04-01-08 =9131/- Rs.
Nov-07 =17381/- Rs.
Why I am liable to pay for the insurance policy when I have not received any confirmation papers. & now if I am asking for cancellation of policy which I have not received, then why will I be charge for the cancellation of Policies Kindly get back to me with the right solution waiting for early response.

    Hi,
    Few years back I have opted for Standard Chartered's Manhattan card. At that time I myself transferred the money using ICICI Bank Visa money transfer and paid 2 my Manhattan Credit Card due balance and which Manhattan Credit Card's Accounts department was not agreeing that they received the money. Later on, after 10 months I received the mail from Customer care that they got the money, in reply to that I have asked them to settle my card as I don't want there card and received no mails no replies from the customer care.

    Today after a very long time a call was being made at my residence (+91 [protected]) stating that I have some amount due on my card (Card was never used from last more then 2years). Inspite o[censored]pdating these people regarding the same , they used abusive language and told my family to make the payment else will send some wrong people to your place for the recovery. And they asked my family to contact Mr. Anand at +[protected], (email id - anand.[protected]@yahoo.com) Delhi number (Money recovery cell).
    Standard Chartered even have my email id but no letter / email was sent to me. I was in London from last 1 & 1/2 year and now moved to Zurich. If any thing goes wrong or any thing happens to my family Standard Chartered people will be responsible for it...

    I'll now ask my family to go to consumer court and file a case against you people for harrasment previously and now as well. As previous all payments / bills were cleared on time and I have also provided RBI reference number after requesting ICICI Bank.

    NOW WHERE IS MY MONEY FOR 1 MONTH, WHO WAS USING MY MONEY... AND YOU PPL MUST HAVE CHARGED LATE CHARGES AS WELL ON THE SAME.

    Right now I'm in London, will come back only after 2 years, but I want this thing to get settled.

    I want you ppl to settle my account and adjust my points what ever they have and what ever might be the balance.

    This is really very shocking from you people.

    Firstly you people are responding after a great amount of delay and there is no regret from your side for the same and still when you are saying that you have received the money. And you are responding after so many follow-up and still there is a big issue why this is still there
    - "the total damages on your account ending with 9147 is Rs.3,265.30."

    You are not accepting your faults and in this way you are directly saying to the customer to take legal action against you people.

    When I had done fund transfer on 07 Sep 2005 for Rs. 1195/- (RBI Ref.
    No. - 527089) & on 08 Oct 2005 for Rs. 1226/- and you are accepting it that you received the payment almost after 10 months chase, still there is a big goof-up in this. When you do a fund transfer online it will take 2 days to 3 days at max. Then how come you people are saying that you have received the payment so late. Where is my money gone for that period. I'm giving you the printshots of my statements, then also very same response really very shocking to me.

    The kind of mental tension you people have given to me and to my family, daily calls on my mobile for non-payments.

    Today, I got a call from one of your representatives stating that "your due amount is Rs.6000/- but we can settle them for Rs. 3500/-. Inspite of giving you the RBI ref. no. for the transaction and all the details with printshots for the money transfer that I had done, you people are unable to trace out where my money gone and asking me to pay for it unnecessarily.

    I again want you to check your records, go thru it properly and check where my money has gone. Else this time I'll go to consumer court.

    Give me anybody's contact number, your complaint cell no. I want to call them up.

    Hello,


    This is Arunima Bhattacharyya I would not like to comment on any complaints but would like to complain myself. After going through so many mails it is absolutely shocking for me to to discover that I might be in a similar position myself.

    Some five years back we had 2(primary and secondary) SCB credit cards which we had given up at April 2007 after paying all the oustanding amounts.But all of a sudden in April 2009 we received a notice from SCB that we apper in Lok Adalat for non payments of oustanding amounts (Rs.12733). We did appear and the case against us was dropped after the hearing because we did not have any dues

    . The recovery department In order to extract money from us apportioned the expenditure in both the cards, when the primary card had never been swiped.

    In spite of the case being dropped the matter was not settled there we went to the bank for a letter of settlement and were asked to negotiate for an amount of Rs.2100. To cut the matter short, we did that too, but ultimately to no avail, our names it seems, have appeared in the defaulters lists.

    Now I would like to fight the matter out Against the Head of the recovery department but how I do it none of complaint cells picks up any phone.I would like to bring a case for unnecessary harrasment and bullying us for paying undue sums.Also I would like to know the SIBIL procedures.

    Standard Chartered Bank — Non receipt of the Credit Balance refund in two months

    I am a Credit Card holder of your bank since 1999. But I am sorry to say that now a days a worst possible service from your end.

    Since 20th Sep'09 I keep on requesting that a credit balance amounting Rs. 3706.37 is lying in a Balance Transfer A/c. vide no. [protected] to transfer to my Savings Bank Account vide no. [protected].

    But today is 18th Nov'09 no action has been taken. I also faxed a letter to Credit Card department. But no action. Most unfortunate thing is when ever I made contact with your Phone Banking officers they told me that, they have took the action and my Credit balance will be transfered to my savings bank account within 7 working days.

    Two three days back I gave a e.mail to Standard Chartered Bank but till today no reply.

    Sir, I want your action and result. So that I can get my money.

    Hi My Name is Dharmendra Gusain I right now going through the same situation. I was using there card from 2002 to 2004 and there was always problem in getting statement in time. because of this i was forced to stop using the card. As per my record i have already settled their card dues and there were some late payment and extra charges of Rs 617.97 which i have been promised that time (Jan 2005) that will be waved off. I came to know only last week when i have applied for home loan that an amount of Rs. 41749 is overdue and which have been reported to CIBIL. Now LIC where i have applied for home loan want me to get no due certificate from them and they are asking me to pay full overdue amount to get it. This is a claer blackmail practice they are udopting now days since they know that my home loan will not be passed until i get no due certificate from them.

    I also request CIBIL to please go through the complete details before they accept any kind of report for updation in there database. I am also using other banks card from long time and there no such case about not paying in time. Standard Charted was just sleeping all these five/six year and never bothered of contacting me or sending me atleast a email about this.

    This is very disgusting. Please let me know how do I contact CIBIL and put up my my case.

    I had taken Card Enhancement Pack(CEP) as requested by your Insurance team from Standard Chartered Bank. At least 10 times they called me up to take the pack. While taking the pack it is confirmed that if it won't be utilized money would be refunded as per the policy. I had taken the CEP around Apr 2011 and I didn't get any chance to use it. As per the policy I have already cancelled for current year and asked for the last year refund amount (Ref:[protected] Dt:15 Feb). Soon I had sent CEP pack to your Bangalore address as mentioned by Customer care Executive (Courier: DTDC CNno: P[protected].
    I keep calling about the status of refund amount since March 2012, but every time got bad response.

    When I called on 6th Apr 2012, Asha Ilangovan told me that it was sent to Out bound team, I would be getting status of the same soon.(Refno[protected] Dt:6th Apr)
    I didn't get any response, waited with so much of patince.
    When I called again on 13th Apr 2012, Vimal Kumar told me that it was sent to Insurance Team, I would be getting status of the same in 14 days.(Complaint no[protected] Dt:13th Apr)
    I didn't get any response, waited for 1 month.
    I called on 15 may 2012 to Customer care and escalated the complaint, Divya Menon picked up and transferred to Shantini- Credit card Floor manager, Bangalore.
    I was told by Shantini that i would be getting response within 3 working days. (Reference: 161956)
    First time i got call from SCB on18 May 2012, Ruchi(Operations- Bangalore) spoke to me (Ref: BL01/05/12/161981/E01) but didn't provide any positive response.
    Again I keep calling several times but got no single response from SCB. Call timings are mentioned below.

      I am Standard Chartered Bank card holder since 2003-04 under the above number, and always kept the card in good account as far as usage and payments are concerned. I always paid my dues in full and retained my credits. In turn many good offers were offered and availed by me and we have benefitted mutually.
      The phone banking officer of your deptt. Kept calling to have another card, Manhattan card, I kept refusing but they hounded like anything saying it is a free for life and if you evn donot iuse it there is no harm inkeeping another card. In order to get rid o[censored]nnecessary calls I agreed and another Manhhattan card issued in my name, which I never used for any purchase by me in the market.
      But I regret to point out that, offlate, I am not satisfied with services of your credit card deptt. towards my card and the tactics played with me by your staff; to narrate; a short note is appended below.
      In the year 2005, a medical health policy was offered to me on 12 month installment basis which I accepted and paid honestly this policy lapsed the policy was offered to me on my SCB card no. [protected]. The policy was offered to me vide letter dated 23/09/2005 & 29/09/2005 together from Royal Sundram Allainz. The policy had a clause “If you do not wish to continue with your cover or avil the of the automatic renewal facility, please write to us with the specific advices within 15 days from the receipt of your insurance certificate”. In resonse to this letter I specifically wrote t them vide my letter dated 05/10/2005, well within 15 days “I shall require to give us intimation well in advance, before renewal of the policy so that if not satisfied we shall exercise our right not to renew the policy on the same terms” letter also required some corrections in the names of the policy which were duly carried, hence the specific letter acknowledged by them. Copies of three letters are enclosed for ready reference as annexure IA,IB and IC.
      To my surprise on Manhattan Card no. [protected] in the month of Oct 06 issued another policy in my name unilaterally without seeking my consent and debitted my Manhattan Card. On receipt of the card statement, I protested it to the staff of Manhattan Card and they offered to cancel the policy if I was not interested. I talked to some MS Sreeja on 18/11/06 at 10.20 AM. But the amount continued reflecting in y card statement and I continued asking them for reversing the amount . They cancelled that policy after considerable time and repeated requests. Only problem is that there is no other way to contact them but through the phone Banking rout and the conversations are recorded buy them only. And every time you call new person attends and do not know the contents of previous conversation.
      Lastly in the bill of month February, your department credited my card account with 50% of the amount after cancellation and Rs 4853.00 was shown credited to my account in my card statement. I kept on telling your phione banking officer that full amount be reversed as this amount is not due from me as the policy is issued to me inadvertently/unilaterally without my consent. Now, first I didn`t apply for the policy and then once the policy has been cancelled, why am I asked for rest of the amount.
      In the moth of April 07 while I settled the statement (enclosed annexure II) with one Ms Achala and paid through my cheque no. 063869 dated 26/04/07 for Rs 11318/- detailing atb the back of cheque the mode of appropriation of the account (Verified copy of cheque enclosed as annexure III)
      Rs 8115 to be appropriated towards full and final settlement of account no. [protected]
      Rs 1399 towards account ending with digits 6910
      Rs 1804 towards ending with digits 7111
      But to my astonishment, when I got the statement for May 07, It was observed that the account ending with digit 1852 has not been adjusted in full and bank has unilaterally and unlawfully appropriated the amount to Manhattan Card which they cannot do when the payment has been specifically asked for account ending with digits 1852.
      Your department has unilaterally and unauthorizdly appropriated the amount of 3863.24 in Manhattan card which was actually paid for full payment in my account no. [protected] under the Standadard Chartered Bank card no. [protected]. On reciept of the statement of May ’07. I spoke to your phone banking officer who very kindly listened to my complaint for this unilateral transfer money from the SCB card to Manhattan Card. He asked me to pay the amount less the unilateral credit amount of 3863.24) I Paid the remaining bill in full Rs (4289.90) Copies of each statement jotting down the calculations and the amount to be deposited as discussed and settled with the phone banking officer are enclosed for reference.
      After that each time I had been falsely been promised to pay the reamaining amount and they promised that they will adjust the acount in each next month installment and had not done it till date. The detail of account transffered to Manhattan Card are appended here with(other than the unilateral transfer of Rs 3863.24).

      These type of appropriartion are still continued inspite of all the discussions with phone Banking officers who do not listen to the complaints and agony of the customers.
      Then I insisted that first my accounts be settled to my satisfaction only then I will resume payments.
      On the statement for Oct ’07 One Ms Tanzila spoke and again promised that account will be settled and the amount of late fees will also be reversed on my account and I may pay a sum of 20143-30 being the amount less the account 1852. But to my astonishment, in the next months statemnt account no.1852 is still showing the debit balance and the charges,as promised are also not reversed and the whole process proved as a cheating incidence. Account no. 1852 is still showing debit Blance and the Bank keps on charging late fees and other charges to harras me.
      I am very much harrased by such attitude and behaviour towards me by SCB staff. You are requested to look into the following matter and provide justice.
      I had not asked for any policy in Mahattan Card.
      On protest with them for the same they cancelled the policy but 50% kept debiting we which I always protest
      They keep hounding me for payment of the dues which they had debited on my card unilaterally without asking me and without my consent. And hen I do not need the policy.
      They keep appropriating the amounts from SCB card to Manhattan card as detailed above without my consent and there is nobody in person to represent for redressal and each time , a new phone banking officer befools me and give different versions. They always say to deposit the remaining amount and they say that they have forwrded the request for reversal and each time the same debits are shown in next months statement.
      The SCB Bank unilateraly appropriated the amount of Rs 3863.24, Manhattan dues from my account 1852 which I paid in full.
      They are not adjusting the account on my repeated request latest on 31-12-07 at 28710246 at 1.00PM
      This behaviour of them are annoying there is no place to represent and on phonebanking each time new person gives different version wrong promises and increasing agony and threats for payment which are not even due.
      I earnestly request you to intervene and get me my account no[protected] settled in full and final by resoring t unauthorized debit, Als reversal o[censored]nnecessary charges and late payments reversed so that I may keep my account in good reute as it was being done ever before this.
      Also please get me immunity from unnecessary hounding calls for payments and false promises. And allow me to use he card and pay in normal course.

      With reference to the above subject I am facing a great agony and frequently surprised in receiving unwanted telephone calls from your side on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th October 2009 against my Bill dated 21.09.2009. I have paid my all dues after telephonic enquiry on 7.09.2009 vide cheque No. 077870 drawn on CBI Ballygunge Branch for Rs. 3708/-. I have received the calls from some “Mr. Sudhakar”. He said that he has delegated power from RBI to harass your valuable clients at any moment & any time.
      Under the above circumstances for your unethical and unlawful anti customer activities, I am very sorry to say that your business policies to the customer has come down to very low level and your agent have forgotten to maintain relationship with your valuable customers.
      As your acts & conducts were not fare with me & if you do not mend your wrong business policies towards the customer, I will be compelled to surrender my credit card in future.
      You are requested to pay attention to the above matter and you are also equally responsible for above misconduct with your client as you are not properly updating and training your agents. If you want to retain customers like me then inform me in writing that your agents will follow the best business policies whole discharging the duties as your authorised representations.

      manhattan standard chartered — renewed the card without my consent

      I have manhattan standard chartered credit card, It was first year free card, after one year I dont want to retain the card, but company have already charged the renewal fees, I ingored it assuming that it will be calceeled as I have not renewed the card, but the have lavied late Fees & other charges.
      I also want to inform you that on my card there is a reward Point of 2296, I reqested them to reddem that points & renew that card but they had denied that.

        Way back in 2005, I was made to opt for the Insurance cover of Sundram through the Standard Chartered credit card by one of Bank's marketing executive. But looking at the way the scheme operates through this card, I refused to use this scheme as with this scheme in use, the credit card service started getting deteriorating. I started facing problem with the way the payment was getting adjusted. I made payment for whatever instalment was due by then and asked for closure of this policy..The request was taken after repetitive calls and with that i presumed the matter was closed. Unfortunately, after one year, i realise that Bank has paid the entire policy amount ignoring my request and they are now pushing me for the payment of dues. There were unnecessary levies to my account for EMI”s and late payment charges although, I had requested to close this policy long back. I'm being threatened by collection team at Hyderabad for making this payment, although they in principle agreed that the mistake is Bank's but in order to close this issue at their end, there are harassing me for payment by regular calls and threatening talks.

        I am working with standard chartered bank as credit risk officer in collection deptt. Since 2008, when i joined SCB i felt good but now i am very tensioned because of “EMPLOYEE HARASSMENT " our shift timing is 7.30am to 5.20 pm. cub move time is 5.30 pm .......they forced to employee for stretch after 11 of every month and there are no arrangement for drop. 20 days back i gone through with a critical situation that day i were left my office around 8.00 pm due to stretch and reached nearest bus stop ( shankar chowk ) i did wait around 1:45 hours than after I got a commercial cub, his driver was drunked and i was flummoxed that time. I reached my home around 11.30 pm and than changed my dress and than took dinner after I looked at watch .......time was 12.30,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for next day I started my day at 5:00 am ( every day i wake up around 5:00 am ) so we all employee are very tensioned because we can't spent the time with our family and friends ..... Even we can't take off because most of the time " we are here on Sunday " we are six members in my family and all depends on me only so i can't leave this job...........we complaint many times to " HR DEPTT " but still repeating same ...........           This is with reference to my account jointly with my mother in the above mentioned branch.

          My late father Mr. G V Narayanan was an ex employee of A & Z Grindlays bank. After his demise, mother was getting her pension through the bank. We have given a standing instruction to my above account to transfer Rs.1,000 to our local bank, The Maharashtra State Co-op Bank Ltd. On a regular basis it was being transferred to my local bank account.

          In the month of December, when I went to update my account with the MSCB, found no credit entry in the statement for December 2007. But at the same time my Standard Chartered Bank statement was showing a debit entry of Rs.1000 with a message "Standing INS DR A/C No_____ Of.

          I logged a complaint with the phone banking officer on 09/01/08. My complaint no. is NOIL010811. Told them to check at their end, whether this cheque / DD was sent to MSCB. I need a proof of delivery, so that I can take the matter up with MSCB. They said within 48 hrs I will get an update. Till now no one bothered to update me.

          Again on Jan 14th I called. Ms.Anaga (executive) said, she will again forward the complaint to complaint dept. Told her, I wanted to escalate the matter & wanted to talk some senior person. She said, someone will definitely call me by 12 pm. If not, then can go ahead & escalate. No one called me.

          Same day again I called around 1pm. Ms.Hetal attended my call. I told her, I would like to speak to one of the senior. She said, one of the seniors would call me by same day evening.

          Incidentally one Ms Reshma called me on 14th evening. She said, will revert back on 15th Jan. No one reverted.

          Today i.e. 17th Jan, again I called. Ms Anaga attended co-incidentally the call. She said, she doesn’t have any update.

          In addition to this, I have already logged complaint through the internet & sent a mail to customer.[protected]@in.standardchartered.com. But still the situation remains same.

          If this is the status of a widow to get her pension, then I can understand the quality of service from this bank.

          want to close my smat card account but since 3 weeks I am going to standard chartered bank in india. I went over there I called phone banking but no one is helping me to close the account. One bank person tells me to go to some other branch. From there they tell me to contact other person what kind of service is this. I have a account in standard chartered bank. Even though I have a savings bank account in standard chartered bank in bandra west branch this is the way you treat your customers.If this kind of service you will give customers. I am very sorry to say If this is the way you will give service then I will close my savings account also. So kindly do something and close this account. I have even sent a courrier to chennain from the place where they said is the main branch. But I am very sad to say that 1 week has passed no one even contacted me.

            With due respect I would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that a Representative of Standard & Chartered Bank visited me in my office JNU, New Delhi-110067 in second half of 2004 for making Credit Card of Standard & Chartered Bank and he got filled up form and took the relevant papers and he also assured me that there will be no Annual Fee and no hidden charges because this scheme is open to Govt. Employees and Govt. Institutions and he went away immediately because he told me that he had to complete target of making maximum credit cards in a day so he was in hurry.

            When I received Credit Card in December 2004 it was written below the Credit Card that “by using the enclosed Card, you are accepting the terms and conditions set out in the standard and Chartered Bank Credit Card Rules and Regulations and will be bound by them.” After that they have mentioned Annual Charges etc. Then I rang up to the Customer Care Centre that I am not interested in your Credit Card because it was assured by the Representative at the time of filling up form that no Annual Charges and no any other hidden charges will be charged. Then the Bank Official on phone told me that I should kept that card in the same conditions and should not use at all and then not using the Card it will be presumed by the Bank that the terms and conditions are not acceptable to the customer and facility will be immediately stopped and it will be treated as cancelled and no further statement will be sent. But even then on refusing they had sent statement mentioning charges and again I told many times in 2004, 2005 and in 2006 that I am not interested in your credit card because your Representative assured me of no Annual Fee and no other hidden charges and now you are mentioning in your statement which is great harassment and you are doing mentally tortured the Customer. Then Bank Officials from ITO said that we deploy unemployed persons to fill the Credit Card Form and if they give false commitment to complete their target even then we will recover the amount forcibly. Now, they have charged me Annual Fee and tax etc. to the tune of Rs.8000/- even refusing credit card facility in 2004, 2005, 2006. Now also they are threatening to recover the amount forcibly by sending men. I informed it to the Bank Officials of Customer Care on Telephone also that the Representative assured me that there will be no Annual Fee and no other hidden charges for the Govt. Employees and Govt. Institutions like JNU because this scheme is meant for Govt. Employees and Govt. Institution and this scheme is open for two days only. Earlier Bank Official in April 2007 said that Rs.958/- is outstanding. After two months again I received telephone call that Rs.2000/- is outstanding. Now the Bank Official Mr. Vijay Kumar Gupta of Legal Cell as disclosed his name said that Rs.8000/- is outstanding and he has requested me to pay Rs.4000/- only for clearing the total dues and threatened me that if this amount of Rs.4000/- is not given then we will be forced to recover this amount and he gave me a ring to pay Rs.4000/- for full and final settlement whereas I have been ringing since beginning that your Representative had promised me that no annual Charges and no other hidden charges will be taken and again I received reply from Mr.Vijay Kumar Gupta from ITO Branch, Delhi that we deploy unemployed persons to fill up the form and if they give false commitment even then we will charge the Charges which is unfair and harassment. After frequent telephones and threatening from Bank Officials and this Mr. Vijay Kumar Gupta “as disclosed his name on telephone” I and my family members are very much upset and very much feared due to the said threatening call by Mr.Vijay Kumar Gupta as a result my family life has disturbed because of no fault of mine.

            Keeping in view the above, it is my humble submission that an appropriate action may be initiated against the concerned officials of the Bank and they may be instructed to stop these malpractices.

            SCB is one of the worst banking institution only worried how to armtwist and extort money by any means they creat a false case and extract money and cheques from clients.

            Standard charter bank/Credit card — Unreasonable money charged

            I have a standard charter credit card from nearly 3 years now.About a year ago people from standard charter called me and said that there are new promotion insurance policies that can be issued against my card and told me that it is a one time payment.But now I came to know they attached 4 account to my credit card and telling me that the outstanding is nearly 48K way above then my credit limit.

            I wanted to know how can I close my card without paying this unreasonable amount.

              Please note that i was a holder of credit card number-[protected] with expiry in the month of august 2007.I had been receiving calls from various individuals who said that there was a pending amount of Rs 3000 odd on my credit card.This amount has been deposited by me on the 8th of september (i also have the deposit slip which can be shown by me if required).I would request the bank to issue me a NOC if all arrears are clear from my side or let me know the amount due from my side.I have had a good track record of payments with the bank and it seems on account of this misunderstanding ,my record is showing a negative in the CIBIL when i apply for any loans.I request help from the bank in this.

                    I am an account holder with satandardchartered bank new delhi for the past 20 months,i requested for a statement duration dec 2006 to march 2007 on 23 oct 2007 by calling on customer care number,the representative told me that they will be charging me Rs168 for that,i aggreed to that,now its been almost two months i have not recieved the statemen and the money has already been debited,i complaint against this by calling on the customer care number may be 5-6 times,everytime i was told that i will get the statement or they will call me back,because they told me that we have sent your statement there is something wrong with the courier company,i went to the branch on 10 dec 2007 requested the statement in writing i was told that i will get the statement in 1-2 working days its been 4 working days still i have not recieved the statement.
                    Apart from that i submitted my salary cheque on 5 dec 2007 on cheque i had the name as Saranjeet Arora,whereas on my a/c i had the name as Saranjeet Singh Arora,so the bank has not presented my cheque,however i lost the cheque number now i am asking these guys to give my cheque back so that i can get a new cheque from my company but they say we cant give your cheque back as you dont have the cheque number

                    I have an account with you No.[protected], with South Extn New Delhi branch, they have opened my O.D. account without of my knowledge or permission, why, if not receive any satisfactory within a week, then i have no option, but to go court of law as well as your staff which is not helpful except of Miss Nisha in your south extn. New Delhi branch, as well as after repeated request, have not received any kind of statement of account.

                    Bnak had issued full and final sattlement letter on dt 15/01/2009 with the comitment that your name should be removed from CIBIL site

                      Hi,
                      I am holding a Manhattan Credit Card with the following Details:-
                      Card No :- 4129 0XXX 1XXX 7XXX

                      I am facing lots of problem against this card. One primary problem is i dont get statements regularly
                      everytime i have to call the customer care & ask for the same. Now the last time when i called up customercare
                      i explained all the problems & complained abouut the behaviour of your collection executives. I mean these
                      collection people does not know how to speak with a customer they can't even understand the problem.
                      I also asked for the last six month statement so that i can pay the complete amount & close this card.

                      But till today i have not recieved the six month statement.I recieved one statement that was for the month of
                      october i guess the due date mentioned was 13 Oct 07 & i recieved the statement in Nov.

                      There were instances where the comment mentioned against the call by the excutive was totally incorrect.

                      I also called the customer care today & again spent 20 mins explaining the same problem & lets see when can i
                      recieved the statement by email.

                      I am really frustated with this card & would request you to kindly reverse the late payment charges so that
                      i can pay the complete amount.

                      With reference to my above mentioned card, I wish to draw your kind attention to the fact that I have withdrawn a sum of Rs.25, 000/- for which I have paid Rs.1, 000/- every month since November 2008. But sorry to say that after making payment for last 9 months your accountal figure says that only a sum of Rs.2, 000/- have been repaid from my end.



                      Under the circumstances, I request your kind self to do the needful and let me know my total outstanding dues as on date so that I can make the one time payment and cancel my card at the earliest as the falacy in calculation formula in your database is not clear to me and oblige.

                        I had a dispute between standard chartered bank.i droped a cheque in drop box. but bank could not collect and overcharged at me.BUT I PAID THE MONEY but they give AGAIN OVERcharged on the next statement i already cancelled the card on poor services & not good commitement by the bank

                        I regret to tell you about my bad experience with Standard Chartered credit card division.

                        I had purchased your credit card in 2005 under your No Renewal charges scheme and made one transaction of Rs.9900.00 and paid the same to bank..

                        I had also received a cheque for Rs. 2000.00 from you without any request from my side and the same had been destroyed along with my credit card after consulting with your executive Ms. Saifali.

                        After this all happen I got a call from your executive regarding the outstanding of Rs. 12000.00 (9900+2000+Intt.) , but after giving all clearing the matter was closed.

                        Now again an executive called my house and insisted for payment from my mother who is very old and cannot reply properly. This person also misbehaved with her.

                        Yesterday again I got a call from Mr. Saurav Sharma (Ph.[protected] for payment of Rs.14000.00, which I have already paid and clarified as above...

                        I don’t understand why the bank is not checking its records and also troubling me again and again in the matter.

                        You are requested to kindly look into the matter and take the necessary action otherwise I shall be forced to approach other forums.

                        Standard Chartered — Bad experience

                        I had called the SC customer care center today and had a very bad experience. One thing the executive taking to me was very rude. His name is Abhi and he reports to prahlad(manager) in bangalore. He told 1227 /= Rs have to be paid immediately by today and later he said 2293.78/= should be paid immediately and then all late payment charges will be reverted and balance amount will be credited to my account within 4 working days. I have asked whether my account will closed with this amount or not? He has not replied correctly. He said he can’t tell that. Then what is the puspose of having the customer care officer? He was not ready to transfer the call to his manager. He said they are busy he can not tranfer the call. This was rediculous. Earlier in dec I have asked customer care before making the payment and depending on their confirmation I have made the payment to close this account. Your customer care officer not told me the correct ammout earlier and this caused lot of confusion and unneccessary I have to pay the late payment fees now. So, please take the appropriate action on both the executives and give me the justice. I have made the payment of 2294/=. Please return the exccess amount back to me so that I can continue to bank with SC.

                        [protected], I don't know this number is belongs to which Standard Chartered Bank. But for last fifteen days. My family (Old parents), My in-laws, myself got life threatening calls from this number. This is just regarding the credit card payments. Mr. Harendra Sharma ([protected]) is dealing with me regarding settlement but still that I got continuously threatening call. Me and my family is suffering from mental trauma. When I am talking with Mr. Harendra Sharma he told me he doesn't give me a call.
                        I requested to higher authority of SCB take it as seriously and take action against that person otherwise I shall be forced to approach other forums.
                        I have droped two cheques of my creditcard bill intime on 18.11.08 & 26.12.08for Rs-1285.83& Rs2255.22
                        respectively and the said cheques have also been encash intime inspitof that rs-786.52 has been debited in my cradit card a/c for delay paymen for both the cheque I have asked ONKITA the lady who was on the phon she told me the fact and she ensured me to revart the amount . Iasked her to inform me over SMS in my mobile as you send for outstanding due. She told me it is not possiable. It is my request please let me know by SMS ON MOBILE or to my MAIL ADDSESS at your earliest of the reversal the amount and every body should be careful so that it may not happend further.

                          Hi,

                          In the interest of making other customers aware, I am placing this complaint here. I have been holding an SCB credit card for the last 9 or 10 years. All this while, I would drop a cheque a day or two before the due-date and there were no issues.

                          For the month of October 2007, the due date my payment was due was 28-Oct. My cheque was dropped in the SCB drop box on 25-Oct(dated 25-Oct). In the next month's statement, the payment received date was given as 27-Oct (one day before the due date) AND a LATE PAYMENT charge was levied!! When we called SCB and enquired, they initially refused to reverse the charge stating that they have mentioned clearly in their statement that cheques should be depositted 3 days in advance.

                          First of all, in their statement, they only mention "We encourage you to drop your payment in the cheque collection box 3 days prior to your due date." This is not mentioned as a "punishable offence". Secondly, my cheque was anyway dropped 3 days before!!!

                          When I brought it to the call center rep's notice, all he says that only if the cheques are dropped before 10 AM 3 days before they will be considered!! After two calls with them, I absolutely refused to back down and got the charge reversed. Even at that point, the customer service representive refused to apologise for the admin error on their behalf and only continued advising me to pay on time!

                          There was no forum to escalate this issue. With other customers who are not as persistent, Standard Chartered would get away with their incorrect charges. I am lodging a complaint with RBI so that this kind of harrassment doesn't go unnoticed.

                          Deepa - This is probably too late to respond. It been almost a year and a half but never too late for a little education are we? :)

                          Due dates on cards are computed based on income levels, wage date, amount etc. They generally differ a couple of days, plus or minus. Every bank will generate a statement on a particular date (excluding weekends and bank holidays) from which your due date will be around 26 days away. Unfortunately in India most of the credit card customers remember their first bill due date. Thats incorrect. I am not of the opinion that was the case with you however it could be a possibility. Hence, its important to ensure we, as consumers, receive statements each month that will tell us a specific date on which payment needs to be made.

                          To briefly address your concerns about bank's behaviour towards your grievances, please be assured that every bank in India is governed by two major regulatories. They are a) RBI and b) Banking Ombudsman (part of RBI itself). Banking Ombudsman is a model to receive customer complaints and they act as mediators between the bank and the customer. Most of the times, there are statisfactory outcomes for the customer. Please search on google about this and you will get a lot of information including their official website where you can register your complaint online.
