Hi there, i’m the resident of bangalore - please be informed that, dated: 3-2-2018 at 1:35 am i have received a call from sbi customer care chennai code (+9144) saying that my card was declined due to suspected activity. At that time, i was in deep sleep so after listening just hang up the call assuming some wrong call & i just realized and woke up from sleep to check any messages for fraud transactions made. Then i have seen couple of messages as follows:
1st message “sek 5682 was spent on your sbi card no. Ending xx4803 at iberia on 3 feb 18. Remaining credit limit rs. Xxxx” (Which is equalent to rs. 46, 500/-)
2nd message “trxn. Of eur 1.80 on your sbi card ending 4803 at rakuten princemin 75 done on 3-feb-2018 has been declined due to suspected activity. Please verify this transaction” & given some numbers to verify the same following helpline.
3rd message “dear sbi card holder, your card ending with 4803 has been blocked due to suspected activity, please call us at follows customer care numbers”.
4th message “dear card holder, an enquiry was made by fmh center for chest dise to check the validity of your sbi card xx4803. We regret to inform you that we could not validate your sbi card xx4803. Please call sbi card helpline to know more.
Immediately i have called customer care to block the card but cc team has told the said credit card was already temporary blocked, so i have requested them to block it permanently. Then i have registered a complaint for fraud transaction & given reference number for the same. They told my request will go for investigation and will be confirmed by 26th feb 2018. If they identified if it is genuine fraud transaction, then my account will get credited to the extent of deducted amount. If not, then i will be liable for this amount.
I have a question here, without otp for such a big amount how the transaction has made successfully? Secondly, to my knowledge i have not shared my credit card number or cvv to anyone. Then how the details were disclosed to access my card? If it is system failure (Sbi credit card) then our accounts are not secured so we must think to carry such unsecured cards.
However, i have made a complaint nearby police station for any future reference if i have been asked by sbi team.
Kindly suggest if any of you have been experienced same kind of situation and what are the consequences you have faced to come out of the rid.
