I opened a saving account in SBI on 29 October, 2016. After few days later i got letter in my house for getting passbook. I have submitted that letter in my home branch on 8 November, 2016 . They told me come back tomorrow and get your passbook. Due to announcement of demonetisation on 8 November, 2016 at 8 pm, people rush for money.
That's why i went to bank in month of December, 2016, they told me that due to demonetisation, they will unable give passbook now because of work load and asked me to come back few weeks later.
On 8 february 2017, i went to my home branch to get passbook, then they told me that they are unable to find my letter which was given by me earlier and they have no idea whether their passbook is printed or not.
Now they asked me to fill the letter along with an application for getting passbook and i will charge rs 150 approx for getting the letter by post to my house and then i am able to get passbook.
This is not good as i know that first passbook is free than why i have to pay charge. This is not my fault if bank lost the letter which already i gave them.
Hope you understand and i don't want to pay any charges which is not required.
