Tamil Nadu Electricity Board [TNEB] Complaints & Reviews

Daily they cut power for nearly 3 hours in the night and intermittently during day time. (Vyasa nagar area). Aged people, children and sick people suffer very much without sleep. The things kept in fridge get spoiled which is a big monetary loss for middle class people. We are very sad that when the people running the government which distributes freebies for non-taxpayers will realise the plight of middleclass taxpayers from whom the government gets most part of its income. Now non-tax payers are fortunate that they get everything free and taxpayers are treated as fools/ beggers. Moreover, those who use 510 units will pay rs.700 more than who use 500 units. Does the eb/government think that those who use 510 units are very rich when compared to those who use 500 units? Brilliant!!! Most of the middle class people use more than 500 units in 2 months. Many middle-income people live with pension or meagre income. Every rupee they earn they calculate and spend. At the same time many people who are distributed free things have a better lifestyle than this middleclass group. There is a very big group of people who pay tax sincerely and spend everyday in tears and curses because of this stepmotherly treatment of our government and even if they complaint there are no ears to listen to that.

In this regard you also reduced 15 to 12 kw on[protected].

Meter is not functioning properly in my house. There are two connections and the service numbers are[protected] and[protected]. Even if all the electrical appliances are switched off meter is still functioning. There is double the cost from my previous bill. Kindly address this matter at the earliest. My residential address is 4/8, 5th cross street, andal nagar, porur, chennai 600116.

Power failure from 6 pm today evening. At 5/3,
Rajakrishna road. To till now no remedy or response from E.B authorities. It happens very frequently facing hardship by the people of this street.the pillars are not maintained. Properly resulting. Low voltage. Etc.. the section pertains to AE/Teynampet. Urgent action required/requested. As Senior citizens and patients are the most affected.

Dear Sir, we are residing in the farm house and there is a poll about to fall near our well.almost 2 years we are complaining about but not resolved.my father is senior citizen but the official make him to come again and again, every rainy/wind season we are more worried. Dear sir,

I'm residing in No.49, Majestic layout, Kumaran Nagar, Semancheerry aalamaram, Chennai - 119. I have newly transferred to this house & from the day 1 I'm getting these kind of issues. My Fridge got repaired & wanted to safe guard other things as well. Request you to look into this on priority. In the nights we A/C is also not working. some times fans as well. I have informed in EB office @ Kumaran nagar 3 times & did not get any single response. Please provide a permanent solution for us. Thanks.

This is the complaint for the low voltage power supply at Medavakkam.

We reside near Medavakam EB office. We are phasing low voltage problem for every summer during the month of April to July during the nigh time it is very worst. We are sleepless at whole night after returning from work We are depressed can't able to sleep for a single night, We afraid to run our home appliances such as Fridge, washing machine. Evan fan is not running properly. I have requested E and AE for several times regarding this issue, But as of now it is not resolved.So I am declaring the complaint in the public forum.

I am sharing due to we are resistant near to EB office and We are phasing such a problem even a fan is running properly thats the main concern. We are not looking for the AC to run but a basic thing fan is not running this shows the worst/poor service of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.

Daily midnight in our building 11.30pm current fluctuation and then current will cut off for 3 hrs, this problem we are facing more then 1month every night we use to call EB Call Center or EB Sowcarpet [protected] the person who pickup phone he use to say it will come current within 1hrs, we are got irritated with this issue and we required permeant solution .
Please look into this matter as urgent bases and waiting for your positive reply.

Compliant against tneb thikkanamcode, kanyakumari district.

I have been calling them to remove the branches of the tree which is constantly hitting the electric wires. But they haven't even checked yet. I've called them 3 times. Then they used to hang up the phone without even hearing the compliant. This compliant is the limit that i can go. So please help. Their e. B. Phone number is [protected]

Our residents of 5th street, Bethal nagar, injambakkam, chennai-115 are facing low voltage problem every day and night. we have raised the compliant to councilar but there is no response from that side. Every night we are having sleepless nights due to the very low speed running of fans...

Sir pls check in arunachal eswar koil street daily current is taken at night times
Even though it is comes under chief minister area this has been continously happening here
People here are 40% uneducated they do not know how to overcome this problem and north chennai very congested if current is not there they are unable to sleep in their houses

Sub: low voltage during night time

Dear sir,
We the residents of 7th main road, ramnagar south, madipakkam are facing low voltage problem every summer and we have raised the compliant last year also. We are happened to know that new transformer is to be installed but till date we hope it has not yet done. Every night we are having sleepless nights due to the non working of acs and very low speed running of fans. We are afraid of running the refrigerators, tvs, mixies etc due to the frequent fluctuations in the power supply. Hence we request you to look into this matter very urgently as we are facing problems especially with kids and senior citizens.

Kindly please check into the problem of ours. Daily we are seeing a pattern of powercut specifically at night times, especially at night 10.30 till 11.30 or 12.
We didn't hear any such incidents from our friends.
We are staying at Thiru V K Nagar 3rd Street, Kadaperi, Tambaram Sanatorium.
And we are not able to reach the concerned Kadaperi EB for the problem and we are not able to figure out the causality of power cuts.

For the past 1 week, Power goes out at 10 Pm and gets normal by 6 am. During 10 pm to 6 am, power comes and goes around 20 to 30 times along with heavy fluctuations.

Childrens, Old persons, Office Goers are suffering a lot.

As a consumer, we want to know the reason for these unannounced power issues.
Is TNEB unprepared / non-capable to handle such loads every summer. Why TNEB is not proactive in addressing such issues.

We feel electricity tariff has gone up but quality of TNEB service have gone down a lot.

TNEB provide permanent solution, dont make consumers suffer every summer

This is dillibabu residing in thiruper village, kavaraipettai post, ponneri taluk, thiruvallur district. We have frequent power cut (One phase) and low voltage problem daily in our area especially it is high during night hours.In this problem kids were highly affected, they are not able to sleep properly because of this problem. I dont know why this low voltage problem & unnecessary power cut is occurring in particular village. Low voltage is occurs evening to early morning 6a. M, this area people's are very suffering, please take the necessary action for this. After making many phone calls and direct request, eb officials giving temporally solution for the problem. We request the higher officials to kindly look into the matter and give us permanent solution.

Brahmin Street Velachery has been facing heavy fluctuations for sometime due to lack of dedicated transformer
Acs don't work even during the day when heat is oppressive and nights are equally bad with very high to very low voltage fluctuations .
CAn TNEB immediately find a temporary solution to stabiles the supply as well as a long term one with a dedicated transformer

Live eb wire in front of our house is touching the branches thereby heavy spark and short circuit problem arises at the time of wind and rain. We are complained via phone many times nearly two weeks. They are did not take any actions still now. Please take necessary action before unexpected happen.

Hello mr/ms,

Since october 2013, i am living in the locality called saraswathy nagar.In this locality, i see a significant amount of voltage fluctuations. This is affecting the life of many families living here.

Have observed significant voltage fluctuation in the houses of following streets,
- m. R. G nagar,
- saraswathy nagar
(Okkiyam thoraipakkam)

This is affecting life in following ways,
- kids and youngsters who want prepare for exams struggling with their eyes and frustration with large voltage fluctuations. Not able to finish the reading - affecting the end results!
- many of electronic parts are getting damaged quickly - significant financial loss
- even fans are not working properly in this hot summer, improper sleep is giving trouble to health of elderly people

Tneb shall notice this complaint and understand the agony of the people going through. It would be great if tneb takes appropriate steps to resolve the issue.

Reg: voltage fluctuation in our area.

We are resident in the above address. Eb service nos.[protected], 872 & 1402.

We are facing voltage fluctuations (Low voltage) in our area. It continues every-night from 8pm to 2am for past 2 months and also last year (2015) same month had same problem, made compliant serval time to you no action taken still. It is affecting our normal lives and we are getting heavily fatigue during everyday work. Even children's are not able to sleep whole night and becoming sick. Voltage fluctuation is damaging all our electronic equipments like ac, fridge, tv etc. It also increases our eb bill.

We have been complaining the above issues by telephone each and everyday. Still the action is not taken.

We kindly request you to consider all the above facts and take necessary action immediately.
