My Tat Sky Customer ID Is [protected] for DTH Television Service.
Following problems are faced By me.
1) Tata Sky New HD Set top boxes are faulty.
They get out of order & they replace same by charging Rs. 700/- as service charges.
This is wrong. They should charge as Faulty Parts replacement. Also Faulty Set top box is taken by them. They repair the same & supply to other Customers.
Tat Sky don't show Customers that they are supplying New Set top Box or repaired one. There is no guarantee of parts.
2) During Tata Sky System changes HD service was not available for viewing as well as recording for a months time. No compensation was given by Tata Sky for the loss.
3) So when Tata Sky is at fault they don't compensate, but due to their parts going faulty they charge as service charges. So that no body knows Tat Sky parts are faulty.
Consumers be aware of wrong practices followed by Tata Sky. & should be reported to Government Agencies & Consumer Court.
Following is my reply to Tata Sky 's E mail to me on Internet:

" Dear Mr. Bharat K,
Kindly refer to my telcon with Tata Sky Associates.
There are major problems with my Tata Sky Set top box including new set top box installed.
You have not looked into points raised during Telcon on 22.11.15 & 14.11.15.
I am listing below same for your reference.
1) Set top box was faulty since the Installation. You have repaired it 3 times due to problems arising due to Set top box.
2) You have mentioned service charges of Rs. 700/- For Tata Sky Premium Customers, service is free.
3) If you want to charge for New Set top box, you have to return faulty one. Also you have to raise Invoice for Set top box & not as service Charge.
4) My set top box was not faulty due to any problems at my end. Same was operating for 20 minutes & then it was hanging. Hence a small part was defective, which is a manufacturing mistake.
5) I was not informed charges will be levied for your set top box.
6) If you want to charge for new set top box return old box to me & change your Billing for supply of Parts.
7) both Ladies of Tata Sky Associates have told somebody will speak to me on phone by 25.11.15. Kindly do so.

No reply from Tate Sky neither anybody phoned up.
Can any company charge replacement parts as Service Charges?
It is legally wrong.
They have to send Proper Invoice for the Part along with Test report & Guarantee Period.
If Tate Sky is not doing this they are wrong.

I too had earlier shared my subscriber id in this complaint forum and Tata Sky's support team did get in touch with me. I am sure they will try getting in touch with you too. Alternatively, you can try writing to them at [protected]@tatasky.com or call their helpline number at [protected]. The best part is it is available 24X7. I am sure they will assist you in resolving your issue. If you are in-warranty there shouldn't be any charges applicable. Check with them for warranty of boxes out of warranty.

    1) During the change of box your sobordinate given upgrade box which is not applicable . Your sobordinate take all component of old box but he do not returns all components after changing the box .

    2) I recharged tata sky at date of[protected] I have not found your service upto[protected] due to box exchange which is your sabordinate problem so plz return my price during vacant period .

      I have write on help desk of tata sky but no response get by the irrosponsible company.they simply closed my request.today i called to helpline no of it as i want to talk tatasky executives.first it waste time by telling the ac n payment information.after putting on hold for a time executive ask necessary information. after this he/she said to transfer my call n hold .i m holding it for 5-10 min but no body pick again. i called thrice today the same thing happens to me ..it wasted my time n money also as the haepine is chargable. . i really feel bad ..on what bad day i choose tata sky...i suggest to all not to opt tata sky at all... what should i do now ? keep clling tata sky for westing time n money or there should be any solution to this pathetic response of tata sky.

        Dish antenna dislocated A complain was registered in first week of September 2015 that dish antenna is dislocated and we are not getting signal. The complain was attended after two follow up and after 20 days. Another complain registered on Oct 2nd 2015 to compensate for 20 days of non working of channels due to no signal. They said appropriate commercial department will get in touch to do the needful. Now again after 50 days i.e. today Nov 25th 2015 I got a call from them to know what is issue. They denied that they serviced promptly but the fact of the matter is that they didn't registered the complain in the first instance. They denied compensation. Appreciate your kind intervention.             Hi, I'm a subscriber of Tata Sky (ID [protected]) and have been using it since last two years. I was quite satisfied with their services; but, recently got to know that they have added some pack (paid) without my consent. I'm really annoyed with this as they are also making me run behind them for my refund. I guess, regulatory should take strict action against such unethical practices.               Today Tuesday, 24th November 2015 I called Tata sky Nodal officer number: [protected] and the answer received from Praveen from Nodal desk was not at all acceptable or doesn't make any sense.

              I have been told that I have to pay again Rs. 800 to get the set top box replaced which was replaced just 5 months back. Basically he was trying to say that everytime there is a problem it is customer has to bear the expense. My simple question to him is if there device is faulty (would like to mention no physical damage) then why customer bear the cost all the time? I told him that if it happens once in 2-3 years it is still acceptable but if it happens every 5-6 months obviously I wouldn't want to pay 800 rupees extra on top of my annual subscription.

              Here was the email is sent them yesterday (Nodal desk office Praveen was already aware of my email as he confirmed on the phone):

              I would like to express my dissatisfaction towards the way in which the above mentioned request (LC3QCZX) is being handled.

              Request LC3QCZX was raised on Saturday 21st November 2015 stating that my tatasky set top box isn't working and have to be checked. I was told that a technician will visit on 22nd November 2015.

              I got a call on Sunday, 22nd November 2015 from the technician stating that he will come by 10:30 but he didn't come. Later I got a call from him stating that the set top box need to be replaced (this he decided without even visiting my house and without checking.). I don't remember the contact person name but his number was [protected].

              I called tatasky helpline number on 22nd November 2015 evening and requested to speak to supervisor. I was patched to Syed Hussain who was the supervisor there, he told me that he will escalate the issue and make sure a senior technician visit me. I explained to him that this set top box which now have the problem was replaced in the month of May 2015 and I cannot keep on paying for set top box replacement every 5-6 months. It doesn't make sense to pay Rs. 800 (Set top box + technician visit charge) extra every 5-6 months on top of the subscription charges. Syed acknowledged my concern and said that this time whatever the charges will incur will be credited back to my account once the issue is sorted.

              On Monday, 23rd November 2015 I got a call in the morning and technician stated that he will visit by 12 noon. However, later I got a call from him stating the same that set top box need to be replaced (without checking) and since set top box is not in stock he will call me back in 2-3 days. Technician mobile number from which he called was [protected].

              I again called Monday, 23rd November 2015 evening to tata sky helpline number to escalate the issue. I requested to speak to Syed Hussain but I have been told that they cannot patch directly to same person and I have to speak to the next available supervisor. I gave a node and they patched me to Naresh around 18:50 hrs evening Monday, 23rd November 2015.

              I would like to mention that Naresh (supervisor) behavior or the way of dealing with the issue was not at all upto the mark that of the supervisor. He was talking to me as if he is a first level executive and keep on stating the same thing that he will escalate the issue (the issue which is already escalated). He keep on repeating the same things which I already know. He told me that didn't the technician convey to me that the set top box need to be replaced. Now if he is saying that I am assuming that the technician updated the request LC3QCZX stating that set top box need to be replaced without even checking? I finally disconnected the call as I didn't see any point in talking to Naresh who was least empathetic and not ready to listen to the concerns I had.

              After putting the phone I got a call from a technician that he will visit tomorrow that is Tuesday, 24th November 2015. The number I got a call from is: [protected].

              Here are my concerns or points which I would like to put forward:

              1. How come set top box can have problem every 6 months when first time it happened after 3.5 years? This is not a new connection it is there since March, 2011.

              2. I cannot pay Rs. 800 every time on top of package subscription. What are the option that I have?

              3. There was no physical damage to set top box last time (May 2015) and this time as well. So what I am paying for?

              4. Who will compensate for the days on which set top box wasn't functional?

              5. How you can make technician / supervisor better trained so that customers like me don't go through pathetic experience.

              My subscriber ID is [protected] in the name of Suresh Chandra Gupta (S.C.Gupta) with the phone no. [protected]. On 22nd of this month for a particular purpose I requested the customer care to Activate channel No.832. But the purpose for which this was got activated did not serve. Since 24th of this month, time and again, I am trying to contact the customer care on help line no.s but after holding for reasonably a long time I am not getting any customer care assistant to help and solve my problem to de-activate the channel No. 832.

              Moreover the cost of channel cost as displayed on TV is Rs.5/- per month. But after activating the said channel the total package cost was shown as Rs. 314/- pm. How it has been worked out is not known to me. My month package charges so far are Rs.250/ and if Rs.5- is added to the same it works out to Rs.255/- and not Rs.314/-.

              With this it is evident that the TATA SKY is trying to loot the subscribers.

              I would like to request you to DE-ACTIVATE channel No 832 immediately and restore the monthly chARGES TO Rs..250/-.

                  Some of the channel is not working(always show signal not found) i complain it many time but they say there is a fault in your system which is because others channel are working
                  channels like hbo, movies now, star movies, times now
                  like today (on 23/11/15) i subcribe times now (rs 20) which is not working & now i can't unsubcribe that channel till 30 days which means my 20rs got waste & that is insane & unbearable
                  so either give me refund or fix it without any charge within a week

                    I took a new connection and wanted to activate annual pack, instead the technician activated the monthly pack. i have requested the customer care to do the same but they are asking for additional Rs.5000 to do the same. Already I have paid Rs. 6650 for the annual pack, now they are asking for this additional amount. Spoken to the customer care and of no use. Escalated the issue thrice to four levels but nothing happened till now. Couldnt connect to any real time office of theirs. Also social media didnt help.

                    You should try addressing your complaint to tata sky’s official handle @tatasky. They will arrange for a callback and assist you accordingly. I once faced an issue where I paid for the package amount but my account was de-activated. I tweeted regarding this complaint and tata sky immediately responded to my tweet. All I had to do is submit my subscriber ID. The customer service team instantly gave a callback and my account was activated. I suggest you too should provide your subscriber ID either here or tweet regarding your issue with this complaint link. I am sure they will look into your matter and resolve your issue.

                      Hello sir I m from PRADYUMNA kumar das bhawanipatna kalahandi.actually I change my tata sky DTH to change the place.but the problem is service ordinarily.he came and fixed the tatasky connection poor. That's why the picture quality is poor and many problems r there.so kindly solve it.

                        I could not use some channels even if m getting charged for it. I registered a complaint but no response. They are telling me that the problem is in your connection, everything is going fine in the server and signal from Tata sky company. They are going to charge me for their mistake. I have already checked all my connections

                            I have called tatasky for understanding on base pack change and how can I pay for the channels which I want to view. My tatasky ID is [protected] . It is very annoying when a customer calls for support and customer care do not entertain and do not support with proper information. If your customer care is not capable then request you to put all information on your site or hire proper associate who have proper knowledge.

                              Poorest service i have ever used i made a complained 3 Months back to discontinue my secondary connection, during my request no one updated me that i will be receiving a call against that request and once i will approve over phone my request will be acted on . From last 3 months i have been recharging my tatasky and every month they keep on deducting 200 Rs. out of that . When in the month of Nov. I open my account online i came to know that they are asking me to recharge 600 rs every month. I called CC of tatasky then they are intimating me about the process and they updated me that they tried reaching me once but because the Mobile Number of Was not reachable they cancelled the request . When i asked them why an intimation message was not sent o me They are answering its their policy they will only cal once .Then again i raised a request and requested for my refund of last 3 Months they raised a complaint and said i wll receive the call from Tatasky . The fellow who called me he didnt even listen to my complate query and discoonected the call with slang language. I work for Hindustantimes and i will make sure this issue to raise on National Level .                                 I recharged my Semi Annual Package online well before the expiry for the required Rs.1420/-. To my surprise, Tata Sky started charging me on Monthly or daily Basis once my earlier paid semi annual package got expired even though I had renewed the same well before for the full amount. Now they are calling and asking to pay some amount again to renew and make semi annual package applicable in my account. They argument is that I should have called to say that I have renewed it for semiannual. Their argument is ridiculous. I renewed the semiannual package online. I clicked on renew Semiannual package, their system showed me to pay Rs.1420 and I paid. They are penalizing me for paying in Advance.

                                  Hi Team, I am Rajneesh from Chennai and my tata sky id is [protected]. From the time i have bought this connection i am paying them different amount. When i call them and ask explanation they don't give. Some charge they will add for channel without my confirmation.Pathetic customer response.                                   Also would like to add that i have all there recorded voice communication which will prove there irresponsible and pathetic response. Also if we ask them to transfer call to there senior the call will be on hold and they will not answer for 10-15 min, post which call gets ended.
                                  When we call them twice or more and every representative provide explanation which differs totally. I have totally 5 call recording with me. Also when we get a call back they ask us whats a problem, they should read complaint and then reach out customer. Also when requested to transfer call to senior they kept us on hold for 10 to 15 min and post which call will be ended.

                                  Please make sure i get response or please the email id to whom i can send there Applet form for consumer case against Tata Sky. Also i can see on this site there r many similar complaints. If action is not taken then will need to take further.

                                    My subscription id is[protected], Have been using mega pack for two connections for nearly eight years. Suddenly our connections have stopped working since last two days. Complaint ref no is LBKH8ZL dated 21st Nov. 2015. No response so far. Please do take immediate action

                                    You can try other sources of contacting Tata Sky to ensure your work gets done. You can address your complaint to tata sky’s official handle @tatasky. They will arrange for a callback and assist you accordingly or you can contact Tata Sky customer service. They are quite prompt in their reply and will help you out. It is more effective way of getting your work done. You can write to them at [protected]@tatasky.com or call their helpline number at [protected]. The best part is it is available 24X7. I am sure they will look into your matter and start your connections asap.

                                        Dear Area Manager I want to inform you that I have Tatasky connection ID No [protected]. I shifted my house from building to another in same locality in Jul 15 and accordingly the dish was reinstalled by your engr by charging installation charge of Rs 170/-. I came to know in Sep last week that 57 channels are not coming and again lodged a complaint. Your engr came and checked the connection. He informed that while installing the dish the nut were not tightened that is why the direction of dish was slightly changed thus leading to mis some channel. Again Rs 170 was charged from us the mistake of installer. On 18 Nov 15, no channel was coming. According to message issued by Tatasky that if your setop box is not receiving any signal, inform us, we will change your setop box to MPEG. Thinking that I informed to customer care at 1400 hrs. He lodged a complaint vide WO LA0A3GX and I received a message that it will be attended within two working days. However I just checking for any loose connection I found that the cable wire was not properly inserted. I tightened the cable and all the channel were stated coming. Immediately I informed to customer care to cancel my complaint and he confirmed that the same is cancelled. After two hours I some one from Tatasky asked me about the complaint and my address. I informed that my connection is OK and I got the complaint cancelled. Again at about 1930 hrs I received a call asking about complaint, again I informed that need not to come as there is no problem and I have informed to cancel the complaint. On next day 19 Nov when I switch on the TV a message was coming that your connection is deactivated due non availability of sufficient amount in your account. I was shocked. Then I checked my mobile message . There were two message (a) Your complaint No will be attended between 2000 hrs to 2040 hrs on 18 Nov 15. (b) Your complaint is completed at 1500 hrs on 18 Nov 15 and Rs 170 has been charged as installation visit. On seeing the message I immediately rang up to customer care and asked them how this amount was deducted without any visit. The person who attended the call informed me that I am forwarding your complaint and amount will be refunded by 22 Nov 15. I asked him why I should be deprived for seeing the TV for three days, why it should not be refunded immediately. For this then I talked to his senior but did not got reasonable reply and I bound to write this message to you. Please justify that (a) Why I was charged for silly mistake of your Engineer who have forgotten to tight the nut while installing the dish. (b) why I was charged Rs 170 as visit fee when no one visited to my house and I asked three of your employee to cancel the complaint. (c) Why the amount was not credited within shortest time once the amount can be deducted within no time. (d) Why I should be deprived to see my TV for 3 days due wrongly deduction from my subscription and why I should not be compensated for said harassment. Is it not a shameful action by your employee consider the reputation yours as best service provider. Considering your reputation as best service provider I hope that you will address my problem by taking prompt action and such type of lapse will not be happen in future. Thanking you. In anticipation of positive action immediately.
