This is a very important incident that we would like to let uber know. Yesterday (14.08.2016) five o[censored]s wanted to transit from chromepet to nolambur. We booked a uberx and the booking time was 8:55 pm and the name of the driver was mr. Saravanan. Me, my handicapped father who works as a customs officer, my mother and my old aged grand parents (83 yrs and 78 yrs) were the travelers. The car arrived at our house and we had already entered the destination and had also informed the destination to the driver orally. We had 6 luggage bags with us. My grand mother and grand father had climber down all the way from the second floor and got into the car. The driver was talking to someone over phone regarding the distance of my destination. My handicapped father was struggling to carry the luggage. The driver did not move at all. Even after me requesting to help him, he said it was not his job. Ok accepted. After everything got settled. He told there is some problem with the device and told that the booking has been cancelled. But, he was having the phone in his hand. We requested him to wait until our next cab arrives which was 2 mins away from our pick up point. He opened the car door and asked my 78 year old grandmother to get down immediately. He started taking all our belongings out of the car. As a result of this i started shouting and there was a huge argument. I requested him to wait for two mins and told him that i will also pay him how much he asks but asked him not to throw the old people away because they cannot stand on road. For that he responded he had got the car for 9 lakhs and he can throw money on my face and abused my handicapped father and left. Me and my family members along with my grand parents who were in their 80s were standing on road with all the luggages. Hearing the noise my neighbors came and helped us take all luggage and also helped my grand parents by giving them stools to sit on the road. The second can arrived. It was at 9:15 pm and the name of the driver was mr. Yuvaraj. As soon as we booked the car we had entered our destination and also informed it orally over phone. But, as soon as the driver saw old people he asked us the destination and we said the same. He immediately said he won't come. My father asked him if he did not want to come then why did he accept the offer with the destination already being displayed. He said he doesn't know how to see all that and he responded angrily. My father said he has to come as there are old people. Before all 5 o[censored]s and almost 5 of our neighbors which included 4 ladies, he used an abusive word at my dad said he won't come. We were very soft and we never knew uber has such barbaric drivers. I said, i will note down the vehicle number and will file a complaint with uber. He responded uber can't even touch him and asked me to give a complain. After i told him not to talk bad words. He said a very abusive bad word in tamil before all 10 o[censored]s on street and sped the car away. We then had to book a fast track call taxi and we reached home at 11:30 where as our travel time was only 35 minutes. After this incident i can see that both the drivers have so much guts because uber does not take any action against them. We all were abused in front of a our neighbors and also were harassed. I hope uber knows troubling and abusing a handicapped person and senior citizens is a crime. I want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone who lives in chennai anymore. I also want to make sure these loafers are taught a lesson and make sure they don't drive vehicles at all. I have decided to post this incident with proofs on all social medias and also have planned to raise a police complaint. I want uber to take action against both of these drivers. They not accepting to drive for us fine. But, uber solely has to take the responsibility for the barbaric crime that both of the drivers committed. I was also afraid if the second driver would man handle any one o[censored]s. And a uber driver throwing away 80 year old person and stating hw only cancelled the trip and abusing cannot be tolerated at any cost. I have sent the copy of this complaint to the local police station and also to the corresponding govt office. I have also asked help from friends and important vips through twitter to give us justice. I don't want these drivers to drive anymore. I am also afraid if the drivers would do anything to our family members if action has been taken against them. I have written up everything very transparently and if any threats happens to any o[censored]s in our family, uber will be responsible for this. I want this to be taken as a highly emergency priority complaint and response from your side as soon as possible. I also want uber to ensure safety of my family as there may be a threat from these kind of drivers. Thank you.
