    Hello,

    I am anand safi, 28 years old indian who probably made the biggest mistake of his traveler life - flying air india for international travel.

    I want to invite you on a journey o[censored]ntrained staff, a test of patience and a misery caused over and over by none other than our national carrier air india - the one whose pledge of excellence and treating passengers to a maharajah experience is supposedly marketed.

    Today, we will just go over the details of my dreaded journey and failure of air india in every single aspect.

    Journey:

    Me and my wife, tithi vaghela, booked a roundtrip flight from newark (Ewr) to ahmedabad (Ahm) via bombay (Bom). The two flights i want to talk about are ai 144 from ewr - bom on dec 29, 2018 and ai 191 from bom - ewr on jan 29, 2019. My flight pnr for reference is httn7.

    Ai 144: ewr - bom dec 29, 2018

    The flight was a really old one and my entertainment system did not work. I informed the steward and he said he will be right back to help. Not only did he fail to come back, he did not respond a single attendant call i made over the 13 hr journey. Later, when other passenger complained of entertainment system not working, he laughed off and joked how miserable and old the planes were so there is nothing that can be done.

    Ai 191: bom - ewr on jan 29, 2019

    I have never been on a more miserable flying experience ever in my life over the past 15 years with 100+ flights and international travel. Just to capture the mental torture and trauma:

    1) our scheduled departure from bom was at 1:30 am on jan 29 2019

    2) they informed us that wind was causing a take-off delay due to our plane being heavy so they waited till 3am

    3) at am, they informed they offloaded some weight off the plane [[lots and lots of passenger luggage randomly offloaded - we will come back to this later]] so finally flight took off

    4) the air hostess and stuff was the most unprofessional, less skilled and untrained i have ever seen. On this 16 hour journey, the only time they appeared was to serve food 2 times. I saw at least 8-10 attendant calls including mine left unattended. Not even a courtesy check on what passengers were calling them for. It was bizarre as if there was not staff for 90% of the flight time.

    5) my wife got a headache in the final couple of hours of the flight and was feeling nauseatic. She asked the air hostess who just happened to be serving lunch then for medication. The air hostess replied "we might have something for headache. I will check and bring back". As we know by now, she never came back. My wife being in unbearable headache and pain got up, walked back 30 rows and asked her for medication.

    6) they only served 2 meals on the flight. The break between breakfast and lunch was over 7 hours leaving me and many fellow passengers in shock. This is the worst meal service from staff and time schedule discipline i have ever seen or heard of.

    At ewr - when ai 191 landed

    To add to the misery, once our flight ai 191 landed at ewr, they informed us that lots and lots of bags have been left behind at bombay. There was chaos all over the baggage claim area as people were trying to get a sense of what arrived and what was left behind. Me and my wife only got 3 of our 6 bags at ewr

    After much confusion, i went ahead a filed a claim for my 3 missing bags which were left behind for a random reason at bom. To our shock, they informed us that our bags will arrive in 4-5 days. This statement still aches me seeing the pathetic customer service. My work clothes, a god mini-statue and wedding clothes with snacks are in my bag. It is 16 hour journey from bom to ewr, yet they are so casual that they will take 4-5 days for delivering luggage causing serious problems with my routine back here in newark.

    Baggage service help desk - god help me

    Once i came back home, i found via bag tracking claim number that "the staff has entered my address incorrect on the claim". I gave them the correct address, i have proof of the receipt yet my address is totally wrong on the claim site.

    I have been trying to contact the air india ewr baggage claim as well as management staff since 50+ hours. After 60+ phone calls unanswered and 25 emails, i am yet to receive a single acknowledgement, response or correct address change confirmation.

    My bags got delivered after 6 days finally, still with incorrect address howing on file!

    Action requested

    I have not heard back from a single person in air india management, aviation ministry, pmo office and beyond even acknowledging me plea and sending dozen emails.
    Hope this email to you can become the voice!

    I frame this email heartbroken, dumb founded and at a shock of professionalism from air india and especially ewr air india staff. I am myself ashamed of just reading this note on what a pathetic job this was on air india part and we call this our national airlines.

    I sincerely look forward to a resolution and hope at a minimum for:

    1) compensation for the horrible journey, trip delay, negligence, stress, unprofessionalism, ignorance, mental torture and baggage delay with no response at all

    2) given your authority and power, i request you to look into these serious conditions and continued failure on the part of our beloved airlines.

      Dear sir,
      I had cancelled an ltc ticket on 25 dec 2018 and a mail was sent to e-commerce of air india on 26 dec 2108; but the refund is not yet credited to my account even after the lapse of more than a month.
      Initially i tried to cancel the ticket on line through the official website of air india. But the site was showing a cancellation charge of rs.5000/- whereas the ticket was an ltc ticket where cancellation charges was zero. Hence i have cancelled the ticket telephonically.
      I had again written to e-commerce on 02 jan, but no response.
      Hence i have sent a mail to delhi corporate office of air india on 03 jan 2019.in turn corporate office, on 03 jan itself, directed e-commerce to refund the cost of cancelled ticket.
      As there was no any result upto 16 jan, i had again sent a mail to delhi corporate office, wherein i got a mail from e-commerce on 18 jan that "the refund was processed on 07 jan and requested to allow 7-8 working days for the refund". Here it is pertinent to mention that 24 days has already elapsed since my approach to e-commerce.
      Any how, since the refund was not effected after 12 days, i had again sent a mail to e-commerce with copy to corporate office on 01 feb 2019.
      Now the both the offices of air india is keeping a silence and the refund is not yet effected.
      Hence it is requested to accord necessary action to credit the refund to my account from which the ticket has been purchased and oblige.

      Please refer your mail of 18 jan wherein it was confirmed that the refund of cancelled tickets will be effected in 7-8 working days. Whereas it is not credited after a lapse of even 10 working days.
      Kindly let me know the present staus of refund.
      Also please take a note that the ticket was cancelled on 25 dec 2018 and i have sent mail to e-commerce on 26 dec itself. Hence more than a month has elapsed since then.

      Dear Sir,
      Thanks for your timely response on the subject.
      Today (06/02/2019) I got a mail from ecommerce of Air India that they have refunded the amount on 07 Jan.
      But regretfully I am to report that the amount is NOT refunded to my account. Hence it is requested to direct Air India to check up the actual fact and refund the amount to my SBI Card account from which the ticket has been booked.

        Sir... I have lots of expectations from your flight and staff i thought may be these people are very professional and well trained... Yesterday night i had a flight from new delhi to mexico city and stay was in germany frankfurt airport around 6 hour on terminal 1 and but next flight is also german airlines lufthansa from same airport terminal 1... And i asked to the lufthansa people on phone on the mention customer care no... They said you do not required transit visa... And when i was on airport they said you need a visa and didnt allow me to check inn so i have to cancel my all tickets and my time also wasted please i want a action on this..

          Sir, i had booked a flight ticket from srinagar to delhi and from delhi to thiruvananthapuram vide pnr no. Y7jgq for 16 jan 19. Due to bad weather the flight was cancelled and i approached the booking counter for refund. After all the formalities, staff at the srinagar airport informed me that the amount will be credited into my account within two to three working days, but the amount has not been credited into my account till date. To my e mail queries/complaints at they are not responding. Hence you are requested to direct the concerned for crediting the refund amount into my account at the earliest please.

            I have booked a flight ai-820 from vadodara to delhi on 22.01.2019. Further i had to travel from delhi to dehradun and for the same i had booked the train nanda devi on 22.01.2019 at 23.50 hrs

            by the time i came to airport, it was informed to me thru air india via sms that flight is delayed and it is scheduled to depart at 2100 hrs.

            But after check in, flight was further delayed several time and finally it was departed at 00.15 hrs on 23.01.2019, with a delay of more than 04 hours.

            Because of this i missed my train and had to book a taxi for my travel to dehradun which led to loss of both time and money at my end

            it is requested to kindly intervene and take necessary action for my loss.

              Our pnr no yp60h flight from bhuvneshwar to delhi was cancelled
              We were send to mumbai vide new tkts and pnr no yp60h

              When we reached mumbai we were told that our flight from mumbai to surat is cancelled. We were given boarding pass no 3/6/2/5/4/7

              We had a seniour citizen with us and also he was heart patient.

              We faced lot of difficulty in reaching surat.
              No alternate means / food / residential facility / cancelletion tkt money was given to us

                This is with reference to a purchase of airline service for prereserved seat assignment for trip confirmation number j3cfq. Rs 2779.00 were deducted however on reaching airport we were informed that there records are not updated and instead of preassigned seat 11c, 33g was printed on the boarding pass.

                Could you please look into this and process the refund accordingly.

                I purchased a business class ticket from SFO to BLR and I cancelled within 24 hrs. Despite my repeated emails to the commerce email id, I haven't received a single response from them since 7 days. THIS IS A SCAM. THEY GENERATED REVENUE BY CHEATING PEOPLE. SHAME ON AIR INDIA. I WILL NEVER EVER BOOK AIR INDIA EVEN IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

                  Hi team,

                  To introduce myself, i'm naga phaneendra desu and recently i had a very bad experience with air india.

                  I travelled in air india from frankfurt to mumbai on jan 11th 2019 and reached mumbai airport on 12 jan 2019 at 4.50am ist and my connection flight to vijayawada
                  In air india left at 8am, which i missed due to baggage collection problem in mumbai airport.

                  Basically, my baggage at mumbai airport was not available at the baggage collection area and ground staff of air india misguided me by informing me that my
                  Luggage was checked in automatically to domestic flight from international flight directly without manual check-in.
                  By the way, since i had a liquor bottle purchased at frankfurt airport in duty free, i could not check in that bottle in my 40kg luggage and could not carry it in cabin bag

                  After this, when i enquired again with customs officer and further the customs officer again consulted the air india staff and got back my luggage.
                  Finally i got my baggage at 7.20am in mumbai airport ground floor.

                  Hence, i missed the connection flight because of late delivery of my baggage and when i checked with air india boarding staff at mumbai airport,
                  They denied in providing me a alternate flight to vijayawada informed me that there is no flight for the next 2 days and no boarding pass was issued for any alternate destination.

                  Finally, i booked a new ticket for rupees 5410 in flight ai617 to hyderabad since there was no alternate flight to vijayawada for the next 2 days.

                  I have been sending so many e-mails to air india team ([protected]@airindia.in) which i got from mumbai airport air india authorities, but its of no use and there has not been a single response from air india team. Its such a big reputed organization
                  With such a pathetic service at mumbai airport.

                  I have attached my tickets from air india (Frankfurt to mumbai and mumbai to vijayawada) and also the new ticket which i purchased at mumbai airport from
                  Mumbai to hyderabad.

                  Hence i kindly request to investigate this issue and refund my ticket fare as soon as possible.

                    - inferior cabin crew service.

                    - flight captain did not coordinate when flight were late more than 2 hours.

                    - do not support when we miss connection flights due to air india flight delays.

                    - not recommended to travel in air india for any travellers with connection flights.

                    - never travel in air india flights.

                    - i am writing this because nobody else should face issues when travelling with babies, seniors and connection flights.

                        I traveled from mumbai to newark liberty by air ndia flight no. Ai 191 on 14th december, 2018 my seat no. Was 41k the travel was for 16hrs. Which started at 1.30am on 14th dec, 2018 and reached 7.30 am to newark on 14th dec, 2018 as per us immigration. It is regretting to note during whole travel of 15-16 hrs. The tv monitor at my seat was non functional and the crew on the aircraft expressed their inability to do anything in the matter, rather they said that many tv monitors on the flight are not functioning and they could do nothing in the matter. The long international journey was absolutely hell for me and was totally uncomfortable. This is sheer inefficiency of air india. It seems that no regular maintenance is undertaken even for such long journey flight. I hereby claim that the airlines must compensate me by refunding one way fare for mumbai newark sector.

                          I booked ticket from hyderabad to visakhapatnam on 20.12.2018 by ai 952. Pnr z4hfr (Ai). I got only the web e-ticket itinerary receipt based on which i traveled. Eticket no.[protected]c1 though in the itinerary receipt it is mentioned that 'ticket will be issued in due course and emailed to you', it is not done.

                          As of now, i do not have the details of fare charged, which are required to settle my ta bill in my office. Kindly...

                          The journey itself was very uncomfortable starting from walking all the way to the aircraft. The singapore lounge used didn't provide adequate vegetarian snacks. The lounge was very unfriendly.

                          Once on board we discovered that our tv monitors were not working. The staff tried to reboot the computers etc. But without success. We had to suffer a day flight syndrome which was not very nice. We also discovered that there were many other monitors in the business class! That didn't work. The aircraft was very clapped out equipment and most of the things did not work.

                          On arrival we waited over 2 hours for our baggage to arrive on the belt and that was after twice complaining to the ground staff. We were further told that clapped out aircrafts are used on these routes and air india give a third class service.

                          Best aircrafts are used for lhr-bom & del routes only.

                          I am very disappointed being from gujarat that air india and their staff give such a treatment.

                          I would be very grateful if someone and answer this complaint and give us the compensation for the inconvenience caused.

                            The format for applying for medical officer at mumbai the last date for which is 25th jan 2019 has been removed from the site. We are unable to access the same as on 20th jan 2019. On clicking download the application form on the site, a sorry for the inconvenience screen is displayed stating - it seems that the page you were trying to reach doesn't exist anymore, or maybe it has just moved.
                            My spouse who has earlier worked for airport authority of india as a medical officer on retainership basis at trivandrum airport is unable to apply for the same.

                              Passenger diane green flight no ai 130 flight time 13.30 2nd january 19. I arrived at heathrow to find that my flight had been delayed 4 hours. I was not offered a voucher and ground staff did seem to know what was going on. The flight did not take of[censored]ntil 18.10. I tried to find air india staff but there was no one at their desk. No apologies or announcements from air india. We arrived at mumbai at 07.45. I had a connecting flight no ai 0083 which left at 05.05 so once again another delay. We were told at mumbai that we had to reclaim our luggage and check in again. This took ages and then our new flight time was 13.30 another 5 hour delay. We were offered a supposed free breakfast which was no where near substantial for the time delay. Again there were no annoucements or apologies from air india. The flight was also delayed and didn't leave until 14.10. This was my first time with air india and totally unimpressed with your lack of customer service. I would like to know what you are going to do to fix this as i am flying back to the uk on 24th march.

                                Please accept this letter as a letter of complaint regarding the cancellation of air india flight ai 112 from london heathrow airport to delhi on 5th january 2019 and then flight ai 20 to kolkata.

                                Myself and my wife mrs shikha nath was coming to kolkata from london heathrow t2 by flight ai 112 on 5th january 2019 which departs at 21.30 pm to visit my wife's only brother who was seriously ill in hospital. At about 8.30 pm it was announced that due to technical fault departure will be delayed and will give further information in 1 hour. At about 23.30 pm boarded the aircraft and waiting to take off but at about 2.30 am we were told that the flight has been cancelled and will be taken to a hotel. We were taken to a hotel at about 3.30 am. At 5.30 am we were told that a bus will take us to airport at 8 am. We were taken back to airport at 8 am and boarded the aircraft and sat in plane till 12.50 pm. The aircraft started to move at 12.50 pm when some passengers were really shouting and complaining. It was a total chaos in the aircraft.

                                We arrived delhi at 2 am on 7th january 2019 and had to collect our baggage and go through immigration and customs at delhi (Which were supposed to be at kolkata) and then again check in etc for the flight to kolkata. Finally we arrived kolkata at 9 am on 7th january 2019, about 17 hours later than the scheduled arrival time.

                                Unfortunately my wife's brother passed away before we landed in kolkata and she is very upset.

                                Due to the cancellation of flights, delayed arrival in kolkata, chaos and mismanagement in the airport and aircraft, hassle of clearing immigration, customs, collecting baggage in delhi and again check in have caused lots of distress and anxiety to both o[censored]s.

                                I am requesting you to take this letter to consider as a claim for adequate compensation.

                                  1. Myself vinayak srivastava was travelling from vadodara to delhi vide ai 820 dated 18 jan 19 with my son & wife. I have to submit following for your kind consideration

                                  A. Flights was delayed for unknown reasons and departed vadodara quit late (Approx 4 hours delay). No kind word from captain to apologize for delay.

                                  B. There was only 01 lady air hostess in flight. She requested me to keep my cabin luggage below my legs to which i kindly denied view was quite tired and didn't wanted to sacrifice my leg space. She picked fight with me and threatened me with dire consequences, to which i replied to produce me evidence that it is safe and allow to keep luggage at leg space, additionally i said why you are only targeting me when there are other passengers who are carrying 02 cabin luggage whereas among 3 o[censored]s i had only one

                                  C. She was adment and was threatening and behaving quite rudely

                                  D. On landing she called mr. Krishnan from security to take charge of me, but on discovering that i have only single bag that too of 5kg he had nothing to say.

                                  5. Following requested:-

                                  A. To take action against captain of flight for not appraising passengers for the cause of delay and not apologizing

                                  B. Concern lady air hostess for rude behaviour, threatening passengers and ill treating them.

                                  C. To take action against mr krishnan, who without finding any facts just on word of lady officer came to us and wasted our crucial half an hour.

                                  D. It reiterated that flight was already delayed for more than 4 hours and again upon that such rude behaviour of your staff says poor about your services and professionalism. I suppose you will take corrective step and punish those at fault.

                                    Complain 1 : i requested for seats next to each other with basinet, i was informed you can have 1 with basinet and one away which i agreed to and took the seats accordingly, on my arrival to the flight i was shocked to see that there was no bassinets available in the flight. The lady even lied to us that all front seats are taken by infants as there as 6 infants traveling in the flight, there was only our infant on the flight and all seats were given to men not families in the first row which made my wife super uncomfortable.

                                    Complain 2 : the whole flight had 1 washroom operational as someone had vomited outside the other 2 washrooms. The vomited waste was not cleaned during the whole flight and food was served around it as it was next to the pantry. There was only newspaper rested on top of the vomit which made the entire flight stink

                                      Can someone from the air india team revert with my refund status? It's been more than 19 days now. I haven't yet got the refund for the tickets that i canceled on 28th dec'18.
                                      I called the customer care number multiple times finally they told me to write a mail to ecommerce id and even after doing it there is no response. While the cancelation was done it was committed that the amount shall be refunded within 7-10 working days. It is way above the timeline. How unprofessional is this? No wonder air india is going below in services.

                                      If there is any decency (Air india team) kindly revert with the refund status. Highly disappointed. Would never choose to fly with air india again if this is the service.
