The information below is the mail that I sent Air India for the 3rd time with all the details.
(I booked the ticket on 15th May 2015 and then got it cancelled on 16th May 2015 around 11-11.30am.
The booking and the cancellation was done online and that is why in my first mail to you all i mentioned that
(When I cancelled the ticket online on the 16th May 2015, I received a pop up information that the cancellation charges would be Rs. 1053/- and the rest of the amount (Rs.4637/-) would be refunded back to my account in 10 working days.)
Hadn't this ticket been cancelled how on earth I could have got the figure of Rs.1053/- as cancellation fee. Because this amount was informed to me by a pop up on the air India Website and so after that I cancelled it. But I didn't receive any email from your end so how on earth a customer is supposed to know the ticket isn't cancelled. But to confirm my doubts I called up the customer care and confirmed whether the ticket is showing cancelled, and I was informed "yes it is showing cancelled".
But surprisingly to my discovery, Air India Cust Care Advisors don't put notes when the customer calls in regards to any booking query, they will put notes only when there is a modification of Customer's change of travel date and time. This information I got when I called up the customer care on 13th June 2015.
Also let me again inform you, that on 17th May 2015 around 16:19hrs (4:19 pm) my ticket ( PNR: YHBQZ ) was cancelled by Air India Office in Nagpur. So kindly now act upon the information that I have given you and kindly DO NOT tell me that the ticket wasn't cancelled and it was no show. Which is rubbish.

The history of the pnr shows that it was not cancelled.
If your ticket has been stamped for cancellation, we request you to mail a scan copy of the same to enable us to
resolve this case.

My reply to this mail is :
Dear Sir,
I have cancelled my ticket online, wherein i just received a pop which said that the cancellation fees for the flight ticket will be Rs. 1053/- would you like to cancel the ticket, I clicked on okay. After half hour since i didn't receive any mail confirmation, I called up the customer care, and the advisor informed me that the ticket shows cancelled. Now how can I send you the scanned copy? Coz I was relying on Air India Website, that the ticket would get cancelled.
This is what I am writing repeatedly now for the 5th time. Now who is lying I don't know. Either the Adviser didn't have any knowledge or something is seriously wrong with air India ticketing system, that in spite of cancelling the ticket online, the ticket doesn't get cancelled and then the customer is charged almost the whole amount, Typical Indian Government kind of work system you all seem to have.
I also gave you the information that my ticket had been cancelled at around 4:19pm on 17th May 2015 by Nagpur office of Air India, which is around 4 and 1/2 hour before the take off, how did that happen? U all didn't bother to check this information? I want an explanation now or else this issue I'll take to the consumer forum.
First you all check the information in detail, which i am sure no one is bothering to do till now, then you'll find that yes my ticket was cancelled.
I would request You to please look into this matter and take action against Air India. Because of their inefficient system me as a customer is getting charged unnecessarily and they are giving me rubbish information.
My friend works in Air India contact centre who gave me this information that my ticket had been cancelled at around 4:19pm on 17th May 2015 by Nagpur office of Air India, which is around 4 and 1/2 hour before the take off.
So even if Air India Claims that the ticket wasn't cancelled by me on 16th May in the morning, then why and how the ticket was cancelled by Air India in Nagpur?
The problem is still unresolved.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
It is very much unfortunate
to receive such a casual response from your JGM SM at Jamnagar.
I have kept gap of 4 hours
from your schedule reaching time to Mumbai ( 4:10 PM ) to my next flight to
Kolkata ( 8:05 PM departure time ) in Indigo Airlines. Your revised schedule
departure was 4:50 PM and then to 0530 PM from Jamnagar and in that case
it was absolutely possible to catch the connecting flight to kolkata.
However the flight actually
left Jamnagar only after 6 PM and when we approached Indigo desk at Mumbai,
door of the connecting flight was closed. We have been forced to purchase new
tickets costing about 23700 INR for no fault of ours.
Myself was travelling
alone with my two young daughters . You can understand the pain and
agony I had undergone at that point of time.
Air India being a
professionally managed reputed Organisation, it is our humble request to look
into it and arrange to reimburse the money spent towards repurchasing of new
ticket due to unacceptable delay of AI flight to Mumbai from Jamnagar.
Regards
Dhruba Chakraborty
