I travelled on 04th June 2015 from Srinagar to Kolkata via AI659 and AI764. Upon arrival my check-in baggage was missing. AI staff told must be due to less transfer time at Delhi, no issue would come next day ASAP and they will do a home delivery. I filed a complaint (Complaint no# 23619). They gave only one landline no#[protected] for follow-up and told they will update me next morning. All my daily essential items were in the bag. As usual no phone from them. Then I kept on calling (phone always busy and no other number) and then finally I got the number and they told yes they are looking into it and till that time no update. My baggage cannot be traced. It's not in Delhi and not in Srinagar and definitely not in Kolkata. I was extremely worried and kept on calling after intervals but as usual no update. I tried calling up Delhi baggage and the lady (Josna) is the only efficient person in this entire group I interacted. She took baggage description in detail as much as possible and asked me to whatsapp any picture I have, which I did. Today around 2pm, she sent me picture of a bag she found at tag-less area matching my picture and indeed that was the bag. She checked-in the baggage at today's AI764. The baggage was in perfect locked condition (enclosing picture as sent from Delhi Airport). After that Kolkata called me (only time) confirming my baggage is coming and they will positively deliver the same today night. After that from 8pm onwards I kept on calling them at[protected] for numerous times and without any response. No one picked up. No one gave any status update what happened, whether it's coming or not, received or not, getting delivered or not. No update, no response, no clue. It's more than 11pm now, I'm waiting with a lot of mental agony I'm going thorough for last 2 days. No one have any basic courtesy to update the status and inform why it's not getting delivered today. Absolute pathetic service. What I want ASAP is as follows: 1. My baggage in intact condition with lock (as sent by Delhi picture proof) ASAP 2. Compensation of this harassment for last 2 days and the mental agony I'm going through along with the immediate purchases I had to do for essential items which were in the bag. NEED A RESOLUTION ASAP ... Cannot tolerate this irresponsible behavior anymore.

I travelled via AI659 from Srinagar -Delhi and AI764 from Delhi to Kolkata on 04th June 2015. When I arrived, my checked-in baggage didn't came which had all the essential basic items I would need, along with other items. I filed a missing baggage complaint (no#23619) on same 4th June night at Airport. They told they will update me on what's happening and gave only a landline no#[protected] for follow-up. As usual they didn't called me and after trying for several hours in this mental agony finally I got the line and they told they are trying, till that time no trace of my luggage. The story continued on 5th and 6th June mid-day, and no update from them, not yet traceable and they are trying and the luggage must be in Delhi transit etc. etc. The lady (Josna) handling my case at Delhi was the only efficient person in the entire process and she was sending me pictures of tag-less bags found matching my bag description etc. Today on 6th June 2pm approx., I found my bag picture and confirmed that's my bag. It's intact with all locks on (I have pictures - attached). She told she is ending it by today's AI764 to Kolkata and confirmed that she has done the check-in/ load of the baggage. Kolkata luggage then called up (only time) telling my luggage is found and coming and they will positively deliver it today night. Now Delhi people asking me whether I have received my luggage, and I'm clueless what has happened. Tensed for more than 2 days now and receiving this kind of service. If there is any issue on luggage on delivery of the same today, they should have informed me. I'm calling them (the same famous[protected] number) from 8pm and no one is bothered to pickup the phone. I'm totally tensed and worried now whether they have misplaced it again or something else. What I want is as follows:- 1. My luggage in intact locked condition (picture proves at Delhi it's locked) ASAP 2. Compensation on delayed baggage and this harassment and mental agony I had to go through for more than 2 days NEED A RESOLUTION ASAP

Hi, I booked two tickets in Air India for 30th April from Chennai to Kolkata and the flight was scheduled to depart at 16.50pm from Chennai. I had made all arrangements two months back for my travel from Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri via Train and booked hotels in advance. I left from home at around 2pm for the airport and suddenly received a call from a customer representative from Air India saying that We are very sorry Flight has been delayed by 2 hours and 30 mins. Please go to the airport and speak to the duty manager over there. When i spoke to the duty manager in the airport she asked me that there are no alternate flights and you have two options either you travel after 2.30hours or take the refund. As i could not take the flight after 2.30 hours and have to book Indigo flight directly to Bagdogra the early next morning to reach New Jalpaiguri. I paid an extra amount of 32, 000/- over the booked amount for the flight and lost 2000/- for the train tickets because of the delay in flight and could not reach Howrah railway station and lost 2500/- for the hotel booking due to this delay. How can the airline just refund the amount for their flight its not my mistake i planned my schedule as per the flight timings and i now request Air India to compensate me for this heavy loss. Giving a refund for just their airline (please note the refund is also not processed yet till date) will not help me and they have to compensate for this loss. Airline PNR No: JDTG8 Aranda Flight No: AI-766 Regards, Sanket [protected]

      Hi Air India./Team

As per your email sent on 15th May where in you have confirmed the refund amount and said that you are forwarding the same to make my trip. But the make my trip has confirmed that they are yet to receive refund amount from the airline hence there is a delay.

Can you please advise was this a formality you did on the email and not processing the refund amount. Its been 22 days now and I am yet to receive the full refund.

Also i would like to have the FULL REFUND OF 9996 and i don't need any deduction now. I don't need a penny to be deducted. If its something user development fees of 320 for kolkata you bear it and not me please.

Please give me a date and time when you are proceeding with this refund process. I am given a new date every time from make my trip due to delay with the airline.

      HI Vivek/Sanjiv,

Can you please look at this and get the full refund processed [9996(full refund amt)-9676(confirmed by airline)]= 320 deducted for some user development fees.

      Sanket
Also i haven't been given the full refund yet. The refund amount provided was 8622 while the original amount provided to me by the duty manager (she was a lady at chennai airport) was 10, 000. Can you please investigate and initiate the full refund. I have also the print copy from Air India where they have given a remark for a full refund.

Dear Sir / Madam Please note the following points : 1. I am an exporter based out of Kanpur. Due to my business, I travel frequently to Europe and US (almost 6 – 7 trips in business class in a year). I have been a Lufthansa Senator card holder for over 8 years in past. 2. One of my fellow exporter who travelled by Air India about a couple of months ago, praised it for its service and so this time, being a patriotic citizen, I too decided to use national carrier for my trip to Europe (although I was getting alternative airlines at much lesser cost). 3. The flight from Delhi to France, even in the business class, was not very pleasant since the food quality (I tried India food) was very bad. The aircraft was new but it seems that the cleaning staff is not well trained or professional. At many places in the business class there were dirty hand marks on the walls, near windows, as if someone has used it was a support with dirty hands to clean the seat / floor. This gives a very bad impression to the business traveler. 4. The return flight from France to Delhi was much better. The food quality (I tried continental food this time) was good. The aircraft was much cleaner. 5. Besides the journey, rest all (check-in / lounge etc.) were good and I was satisfied. 6. However on my return, I was informed that my baggage was left at France (CDG airport) – although there was a 5 hour connection time between the incoming flight (Air France, Copenhagen to CDG). I filled up the PIR (Property Irregularity Report) at the airport and was assured that the luggage left out at France would be delivered the next day. Details of my flight and PIR is as below : • Incoming Flight : AI142 • Flight Date : 2nd May 2015 (From CDG) • Arrival Date in Delhi : 3rd May 2015 • Ticket Number :[protected] • Bag Tag Number : AF362440 • File Reference Number : DELAI69504/03MAY15/0440GMT 7. I called up Air India Call centre number which was given on the PIR several times on Sunday, 3rd May. But sadly no-one answered the call. 8. On Monday, 4th May 2015, the call was picked up and I was informed by the tele service executive that your baggage has reached Delhi and handed over to the courier to be delivered to me at Kanpur. I was relieved since the bag carried not only my clothes, but important business documents and samples which, if lost, would cause a lot of damage to my business. 9. The wait for the luggage however prolonged. On Tuesday, after several attempts to talk to your call centre, I was informed that the luggage is non-traceable. This was a rude shock since only a day ago I was informed that the luggage is on its way to Kanpur!!! 10. On Wednesday and Thursday, the same story repeated. Many Many times the call centre call went unanswered. In some cases the line was picked up but before we could talk, it gets disconnected. Whenever I could talk, the line of communication was same – that the luggage is untraceable. 11. This is a really sad part of my journey with Air India. The service levels are really really poor. I fully understand that at times, the luggage gets misplaced / left out. I has happened to me a few times earlier too but the luggage then gets delivered maximally in 48 hours (sometimes even in 24 hours). 12. It has now been almost 5 days and the luggage is still untraceable. Plus the communication with your call centre is really really shoddy. 13. I therefore request you to kindly look into the following aspects of service : a. Keep the aircraft spotlessly clean, as in other airlines. b. Improve quality of food which is currently pathetic. c. Improve call centre executives’ communication skills through training. d. Please Please trace my misplaced luggage. I am scheduled to fly again in less than 7 days time to Europe and US. If my luggage is further delayed, it would surely cause a serious dent in my business. I, being a helpful and patriotic citizen of India, would still like to fly Air India. I am sure you would look into the above aspects and also help trace my baggage. Dear Sir, I have written a email to Air India customer care on 19th-April, 2015 regarding my travel to Port Blair by Air India flight # AI 9601 but due to some tech reason flight got cancelled and because of that there was a NO SHOW at my hotel in Port Blair. I spoke to the Air India team at the airport they booked my flight for the next day which was 20th-April, 2015, and also I asked for the refund of my hotel booked in Port Blair for stay on 19th-April, 2015. They told me to contact the customer care them. I have written several mails to Air India customer care but the below response I got from them only for my first mail and after that there was NO RESPONSE on any of my remainder mails. I want to raise a complaint to the consumer complaint forum. ________________________________________________________________________________ I would like to make a complaint regarding my flight cancellation yesterday 19th-April, 2015, Flight # AI 9601 from New Delhi to Port Blair. Myself and my wife were supposed to reach Port Blair yesterday 19th-April, 2015 but your flight was cancelled due to technical problem. As our hotel booking was made in advance in Port Blair for 19th-April but we couldn't reach on 19th-April so there was a NO Show at the hotel and hotel charged my credit card for the full amount of Rs. 8, 000 for my yesterday night stay. I have attached my confirmation voucher which was issued by my travel agent Balmer Lawrie for the confirmation of my booking. This has happened only due to the cancellation of the Air India flight. Being a middle class man myself and my wife cannot bear this loss of Rs. 8, 000/- for my stay which was ended up as a NO SHOW. I want to claim this amount from Air India for this No show. Please find my ticket details below. Thank you and regards, Anil. Varma Anuradha Varma

We travelled by Air India flight from Kathmandu to Delhi by AI 416.on 27.04.2015 The flight was scheduled to depart at 4.15 pm from Kathmandu. Due to the extraordinary circumstances, we could understand the delayed departure. In fact, we are thankful to them since they lifted us safely. We had booked onward flight to Chennai by AI 540 leaving Delhi at 8.55 pm. We have conveyed the delayed departure to Air India, Delhi through our Nepal Tourism people. We were taken aback by the behaviour of Air India Officials at Delhi Airport. When we approached the counter at 11.15 pm we were booked for the AI 439 to Chennai on 28.04.2015 at 6.55 am. The counter people were inhuman and informed that we can go to the lounge and the counter will open at 3.00 am; after security check we can go and relax at the lounge. We were suffering a great ordeal at Nepal without food for 48 hours; standing in the queues for 8 to 9 hours. We were around 40 to Chennai. The officials informed that it was not the mistake of Air India and it was a natural calamity. Then they told at 11.30 our higher officials had to decide on that. We were surprised, as were 40 in number, would any communication would not have reached them. The higher official came and informed that they can arrange but since the time is very short, we can wait and go to the counter. We have to report only at 5.30 am. It was 12.00 midnight. My husband got angry and told that are you asking us to lye down in the platform. The higher official got furious and started shouting at us. After some with the intervention by some people we were given accommodation around 2.00 am at 3rd floor of a hotel was given. They purposely delayed our accommodation. Our flight from Kathmandu arrived at 10.45 and no body was bothered about us. The inhuman attitude of the Air India officials is surprising and paining. Please enquire the same and kindly do the needful.

I am complaining on behalf of my brother in law. His name is Deepak Kumar & he travelled to Shanghai( China) from New Delhi(India) on April 26, 2015. His luggage is missing from & he is not even informed about the whereabouts of the luggage. He is facing difficulties everyday due to this & Air India officials are just taking their own sweet time to answer, which too when called by us & behaving like irresponsible & careless people. They don't even realise how one suffers & moreover its their mistake. The flight number-AI348 & baggage tag number-AI314716. Its very dissappointing to realise that Aviation Industry lacks so much when it comes about service to their customers when Aviation industry claims to be & is supposed to be the most error free, Extremely unsatisfied & hoping it gets resolved ASAP.

I was travelling from Ahmedabad to London on 13th April 2015. My e-ticket no was[protected]. When I departed from Ahmedabad AI was aware that onward flight was delayed by more than 12 hours however when we reached Mumbai there were no arrangements done to keep us in the Hotel. After many arguments with AI staff and spending few hours on the Airport we were given hotel. There was no proper communication by AI staff and was complete chaos at the hotel. After 12 hours of delay when I reached London, there was complete chaos at the baggage collection area as AI combined passengers from different locations. Due to that chaos one of my baggage didn't arrive and as of today after 12 days it is still not found in which had very valuable items. I am not able to talk to anyone even after holding phone for more than half an hour on premium customer services number. AI really need to treat the customer respectfully and learn customer services from international organisation if they want to survive otherwise they will peril in this business and will loose big money.

I had booked an Air India flight AI 50 vide ticket no 098-[protected] and PNR YEBWS. The flight was scheduled to depart at 20:50 from Mumbai for Hyderabad. In the e-ticket sent via email, I had been allocated a seat no 5A. Upon reaching the airport, I was told that the flight is overbooked and there was no seat for me. My ticket was perfectly valid and paid in full. In spite of that, I was refused a seat. The staff was highly uncooperative and they did not listen to any requests for an alternate flight immediately. Instead, they gave me a flight departing at 23:50 hrs. Being a single lady traveler, travelling this late did not seem safe but the requests went unheeded. I was not provided with any food coupons or any other meal offers due to increased delay. I am being forced to take a midnight flight inspite having a legitimate booking and thus undertaking a safety risk travelling at late in the night. This is not acceptable. The airline should be penalised and the staff should be cooperative atleast while taking care of security of passengers.

Dear Air India, First of all let me express my deepest gratitude to you for having brought me safely to Mumbai from Delhi. I was quite skeptical about my mortality from what all I had witnessed yesterday. I'm talking about flight AI-317 from Delhi to Mumbai which was scheduled to depart at 11 PM (at least on paper) on the 20th of April, 2015. 1) CONFUSION AT THE BOARDING GATE: Firstly, there was major confusion at your boarding gate (number 20). At around 10 PM, the screen next to the gate mentioned ‘Gate Open’ for flight AI 317 to Mumbai. Upon seeing this I went to enquire about it at the adjoining desk only to be rudely told “Please be seated, we will do the needful and inform you when the gate opens”. Huh, why even have a screen in the first place then if people have to personally come and announce all this in a so-called ‘silent’ airport? Next up a ground staff lady comes up to the boarding gate and invites us to come up. After we all have assembled there, another announcement asks us to sit down again! Now for some strange reason this lady still lets us through the gate even though the announcer is constantly announcing that the gate is only open for business class passengers first and economy passengers will follow later! Anyway since I had already crossed the check post I went on ahead to the aircraft. 2) TAKE OFF TIME The flight which was scheduled to depart at 11 PM still had people boarding it at 11 PM! In the age when all other airlines (like indigo and Jet) are trying their best for earlier take offs; here we have AI behaving like the typical Maharaja and always doing things at their dreary speed. Competition is reserved only for the private sector it seems. 3) LUGGAGE MANHANDLING From my seat 10F I could also see the way ‘our luggage’ was being manhandled by your loading staff. It’s like they don’t even care for people’s belongings and kept throwing the bags on the conveyor belt like grain sacks. I suspect that some of your loaders are good enough to potentially make it to the national basketball team! The dull thuds of the bags were quite worrisome especially since I also had a bottle of pickle packed along with my other stuff. Fortunately for me nothing happened to it, but I’m quite sure that this wasn’t the case for many others. 4) AIR-CONDITIONING There was literally no Air-conditioning at all till the flight was well and truly in the air. I checked the time and it was 11.45 pm exact when the AC finally kicked in (and we were already in the air for almost 10 mins!) I can't even remember the last time that I was actually sweating on an airline and neither have I seen people having to ‘fan’ themselves on an aircraft with the safety booklet. 4) DAREDEVIL PILOT Your pilot Ms Seema Jamnani also seemed to be some kind of an adrenaline junkie since she made the flight hop once before the final liftoff. Even after taking off, she took a very wild u-turn. I have never seen an aircraft tilt so much, so much so the earth almost looked like a perpendicular wall! All these things made me feel that I wasn’t going to make it. In fact people were nervous all around and even the guy next to me who was deep in sleep throughout the take off woke up to take a stock of things! 5) HOSPITALITY You have truly learnt how to maintain a skeletal staff on the plane. I hardly saw any air hostess or cabin crew till the seat belt sign was finally switched off after takeoff. The strange thing was that the person next to me had opened the breakfast tray to place his backpack and was sleeping on it during takeoff! And neither did he fasten his seat belt. And there was a guy talking to his ‘jaanu’ on his cell phone while the plane was taxiing for takeoff. People also had their seats tilted. Now I can't even imagine something like this happening on a Jet airways or Indigo flight. Seriously pathetic state of affairs. No one was even bothered. Strangely people on board were not even complaining and seem resigned! 6) SAFETY VIDEOS Even the safety videos were fully pre-recorded. I always felt very irritated every time the same thing would be repeated on every aircraft. But this was the first time only a stock video was shown with no live demonstration. This made me actually feel very worried and insecure. Maybe it was because the probability (of me actually having to do those things to save my life) had gone up tenfold in this particular aircraft. 7) FOOD This may be the most trivial thing of all but the food was honestly terrible. Now I've never been to jail but this gave me a pretty good idea of what to expect there. The non-veg meal had no taste and it tasted like it had been kept for days and then microwaved in a hurry. There was a chemical aftertaste to the food. The pic was taken after I totally gave up trying to eat your food. No water was served on the flight except the bottle which was served with the meal. So I'm glad that I bought a bottle of water from the vending machine at the airport. Having stayed in hostels for most of my life, I'm not very picky about my food and can eat anything that is reasonably palatable; but this took it to a new level altogether. FINAL WORDS Now I used to travel extensively by Air India in the late 90s and early 2000s, especially for trips to Saudi. My last flight by Air India was in 2008 and I really can't believe what all has happened to it in a space of 7 years. I wasn't particularly dissatisfied or unhappy with their services back then. Now I know that Air India isn't doing well and is suffering major losses but then again neither am I surprised now. The staff also seem disinterested and demotivated. Probably the only reason why you even get passengers these days is because of the enormous population of this country and whenever you break prices. Else nobody in their right mind would ever opt for Air India. I'd rather travel by the ‘budget’ airlines offering paid meals and water rather than eat your stale food or experience your lethargic hospitality. The only reason I flew Air India this time around was since I had to book my tickets at a very short notice and your tickets were almost 2000 Rs less than the nearest player. I don't think that I will ever fly this airline again not even for a difference of 10k! Goodbye and good riddance!

Our flight was delayed for 9 hours, its the way that Air India management ( ground crew )did not handled the issues. 1) we were told at security check in that our Flight AI 131 was delayed till 12pm ( was due to leave 06-30 ) that's 5 Hours Delay we were not happy but had no choice. When we looked at the Flight Board it showed that the AI131 was on time ( nothing about delay or 12pm ) 40 minutes later I asked at the information desk no joy as he was unhelpful & I was told to see Air India staff for information, even he was not helpful.I was told that its 12pm. We were not given any breakfast we spent £10 on breakfast, than at 10.30 we were told its now delayed till 4pm. All the passenger were complaining wanted to speak to a member of management for answers we have recorded the evidence on our mobile & I Pad, we were all given excuses. Lunch was very basic and water was warm not cold. Lot's happen over 2 hours with Management & us. We wanted letters to say we were going to be Compensated because once we get back to London air India would do nothing at all, there were 3 x couples that had same problem last October 2014 & they had done every thing but got no reply or Compensated by Air India. In last 15 Year's Me & my wife have never had any problems with Air India, only problems that most people would complain. PLEASE look into this matter as we need a speedy answer and compensation. We both had to start our new jobs on Monday 23rd march 2015, as we did not land till 21.30pm on Sunday 22.03.15 we were not able to start till Tuesday 24.03.15. We would like 2 x return tickets to India or 2 x upgrade to business / first Class on our next trip to India as Gesture of goodwill this has not monitory value to Air India or lastly Refund of £600.00 as Compensation I know you will see this from my point, we do not want this issue for us to fly other airline in future as we are Indians and want to support Air India. I know lots more customer of AI131 who wanted us to handle this matter for them ( I have all there Tickets Numbers But I want to look after Number 1 That's ME. If you were to see the Video you would not believe how we were all treated. Please reply ASAP as we want to settle this matter ASAP, our request is not unreasonable. Date of Departure : 27.02.2015 Ticket No : 098-[protected] Mr Kamalroy Patel 098-[protected] Mrs Sangita Patel Complains No from Mumbai airport :27428 ( we have the complaints Letter that was given to us from Mumbai airport ) Many Thanks Kamalroy / Sangita Patel

This time the booking was confirmed immediately and the ticket details were generated on the e mail & mob no provided by me.PNR of the confirmed tickets booked on 18 mar is J2KP1. On 21 mar 15, my HDFC Bank credit card statement shows deduction of Rs 27594 (amount of ticket booking) for booking carried out on 17 mar 15 even when the booking was not confirmed and no intimation was given to me for the same .I immediately called up air india costumer care and the airindia agent confirmed of an error on the part of Air india as double booking has been done for same passengers due to some technical issues with no intimation done by airindia for previous booking. The agent then told me the PNR No of the booking on 17 mar as PNR - JC51H (the tickets which are till now not been send to me on mail/mob no). It is therefore requested that the amount deducted for failed ticket booking on 17 mar may please be refunded in full, back to my HDFC Bank credit card account at the earliest .I have been calling air india since last 4 days but no response . I have mailed thrice to ecommerce but no response have been received . The landline no of ecommerce is not picked up by anyone despite me tried calling for almost 100 times . I have also filed my complaint to ministry of civil aviation & public greievances portal of govt of india.
Air India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.

Flight: Air India PNR: H02ZG I took a flight from Mumbai to Chadigarh (Via Delhi) on 20 Dec. 2014 at 11AM. It had a 40 minutes stop at Delhi. Flight landed on Delhi airport but could not take off for Chandigarh due to Bad weather (Heavy fog) in Chandigarh. So flight was cancelled later. Air India staff told provided and air india bus service for Chandigarh and Ticket cancellation under respective refund amount to all affected passengers. I got my ticket cancelled and told that I will recieve 2304/- through MakeMyTrip. I took further steps with MakeMyTrip for Refund processing but Refund money is still locked because refund is not release by Air India till now. They told me that they sent an email to Air India for confirmation but Air India is not sending any response/confirmation. I called air India. they told me to call Air India city office. Then I called City office (New Delhi), they again diverted me to some other number which no one is picking up and there is no response. This is the worst experience I had with Air India. The Air India officials are so unprofessional. I still dont know where my refund money gone. Air India is in no mood to refund back to customers their hard earned money. This is Pathetic. Air India... Please return my refund my contact details are as: Gobind Kumar Mob: +91- [protected] Email: gobind.[protected]@gmail.com
