I had booked an air India flight for self and family for travel to Port Blair from Kolkata on 02 Mar 21 Booking reference no Y45ET. At airport We were denied boarding citing Port Blair administration’s prevailing requirement that all passengers travelling in to Port Blair must have RTPCR negative certificate. However, it is important, surprising and distressing to note that during the entire ticket booking process through Air India app there is absolutely no mention, even once, that passengers travelling to Port Blair must carry RTPCR negative certificate. Air India made no effort whatsoever to inform in anyway possible that we must get tested 48h prior boarding. As a result we were denied boarding on 02 Mar 21 at the airport and sent back from counter with complete deductions of my booking fare Rs 30808/-. Monetary loss was further aggravated because of mental agony arising from requirements of boarding lodging travel in an unknown city. Air India staff says that passengers must keep themselves updated on prevailing Covid-19 requirements during travel, but the practice of not informing passengers during tickets booking is unethical. I have been told by air India staff that I’ll be refunded only tax amount on each ticket. This is an improper business policy and must be curtailed. I want to request for complete refund of my booking amount.

    This is to bring to your attention that I am waiting for the refund of my cancelled ticket (cancelled from my end on 10/09/2020) since 174 days as of today. For the last 6 months, I have been calling air india's customer care team multiple times (almost twice a month), but all of those were of no avail. With this, I must admit that this is worst customer service team I have encountered.
    I would like to highlight some of the recent experiences I faced with air india's so called customer service. Swapnil from customer team gave a false commitment that the refund will be processed in 1-3 days. He raised a case ID 08155365 for this. Pooja from air india's team constantly tried to deviate from my actual issue and asked me to reach out to Travel Partner ; where I already conveyed that I was calling AirIndia as instructed by travel partner team.air india's service is worst and air india's employees doesn't care about customer's problem.

    I also took the liberty of reaching Air India through Twitter and I did not get any help from air india twitter team as well.
    When I reached out to my travel partner, they told they have already raised Refund Application (RA) NO:- [protected] for my case.
    I need my refund at the earliest as this is a non lockdown case and it is 174 days since I requested for refund.

      I am followed up from 9 months but i did't get my refund from air india,

      I have booked 1 flight from air india site directly and 1 from cleartrip.

      1. Z4Q16 : dated 21-may-2020 from Doha to Delhi (from Cleartrip)
      2. JH41Y : dated 27-jun-2020 from Delhi to Doha (from Air India)

      I already raised case with Air India (Case id :[protected] but till date no status about refund.

        I have booked an air ticket through your authorized air travel agent- Easemytrip for your airline flying between Delhi to BANGALORE on 04th Dec 2020 at 5:35, due to unavoidable circumstances, I could not undertake the travel and hence, had to cancel the ticket on Jan 02nd 2020 ( Attached the cancel request documents). It has been more than 3 weeks since I had cancelled the tickets and I am still awaiting a refund approval from your end. The payment for these tickets were made through a credit card and the same is due on Dec 24th 2020. I request you to please approve the refund claim and refund the balance amount to my credit card account. Thanks.

          This is in regard to the refund effected on 6th Oct 2020 against the following tickets.
          1. E-Ticket number - 098-[protected] & 098-[protected]
          2. Passenger's Last and First Name - SEHGAL PREETI & SEHGAL SUMAN
          3. Flight Number - AI775 / AI177 & Return AI178 / 776
          4. Date of travel - 18 MAY 2020 & RETURN 8 JUL 2020

          I am advised that the refund Reference is RA098A614395VW1.

          Unfortunately I have not received the amount as the account through which payment was made had been closed before the refund was made. I had also forwarded the following:.
          1. Mail from ICICI bank confirming closure of account[protected] from which payment for ticket was made.
          2. Copy of my Aadhaar card for identity.
          3. copy of cheque of my account which is in operation for refunding the amount.

          The customer service cell has been creating case IDs and has yet to resolve my issue

            This is in regard to my travel from Chandigarh to New Delhi on Feb 05, 2021 on flight number A91 0832 (Air India- Alliance air). I had an international flight to Los Angeles (Separate itinerary) from New Delhi hence I had an extra piece of Check-in Baggage along with me. The cost to carry an extra baggage was around 10, 000 Rupees whereas the ticket itself costed around 4000. I called the air india customer care on Feb 04, 2021 and asked if booking an extra seat on my name would double my baggage allowance or not, to which the executive told me to go ahead with booking the extra seat for 4000 instead of paying 10, 000 more for the baggage. So I purchased two tickets on my name (boarding passes attached) with seat numbers 8C and 8D. To my surprise, the air India officials at the Chandigarh Airport refused to accept my extra baggage saying that an extra seat doesn't fetch the double baggage allowance. Even after repeatedly telling them that I had confirmed this through the customer care, they refused to accept it. I was told to pay ~10, 000. I was in a hurry so I went ahead and paid extra 10, 000 for my extra bag. This was a strict case of negligence on the part of the customer care executives and the Airlines. The troubles didn't end here. 8C and 8D were both my seats. Surprisingly they had resold my seat 8D to another person, despite the ticket for 8D being on my name. This is totally unacceptable, that too in Covid times. This was mentally straining as well. I want the airline to look into this and reimburse the expenses and not mentally tax the customers in future.

                  I had booked ticket from Delhi to Birmingham vide PNR No.YOV1W the travel date was 05/02/2021.The flight had been cancelled. There after booked again from Delhi to London ticket had been issued vie PNR No.JBRGB for 25 th Fab. Rescheduled to without our consent and convenience to 4th. March, then to 8th, March and now to to 11th. March with same PNR number.
                  Inquired from customer care of Air India surprised and pained to find that flights were operating frequently say on 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, march but seats in Business class only were available. It means the passenger who had booked earlier were not accommodated but since Fair at present are skyrocketing so air india accommodated fresh passengers relegating already booked passenger. Is it not unhealthy practice or corrupt process, if I am correct. Our VISA is valid only for 6 months, already 45 days have passed similar is the case with my Travel Insurance.
                  Kindly take cognizance of my complaint. your reply shall be highly solicited.

                    I am Jeya Shanker C K, Father of Aakash C J.

                    Booked flight ticket from Toronto to New Delhi through Makemytrip.

                    Booking ID : NN[protected] booked on 15 11 2020.

                    Initially due to the present COVID situation, Makemy trip has informed in their notification that AIR INDIA will process cancellation ticket within 3 months and refund credited to Account.

                    But now it is found that in their notification "Refund of Rs. 53279/= is under process and it will be credited between 4th Jan and 3rd April 2021.

                    Whether the amount will be credited back by big organisation like AIR INDIA, which even after 3 months have not processed.

                    Makemy trip also inform that No Telephonic/e mail followup is required. Whethet actual delay is by Air India or Make my trip.

                    Kindly clarify.

                    Earlier on the MakeMyTrip website, it was mentioned that the refund amount will be credited between 4th Jan and 3rd April 2021.
                    Today it is 06 04 2021, still, the amount is not credited. Today's status in MakeMyTrip shows that still, AIR INDIA is processing a refund ( already five months over) and the MakeMyTrip message informs no email/telephone calls. What for we have to book with MakeMyTrip when their customer service is very poor. Why does AIR INDIA behave like this to customers? Whether they are digging their own graves. One costly lesson learnt. Do not book air tickets in AIR INDIA and through the website like MakeMyTrip.
                    Only God knows when I will get my hard-earned money. I hope this MakeMyTrip personnel and AIR INDIA personnel connive, squeeze and drink customer money for their own comfort.

                    The issue of refund is not yet resolved and pending. Further where to lodge complaint as my elder son also expired due to covid 19. Whether I will be alive & satisfied that AIRINDIA has processed and credited refund of my eligible refund amount

                      1. I Sub inspector Rajendra Kumar serving in armed force. Sir/madam, i have tried to book air india ticket from air india website and also from the offices from Dehradun to Madurai airport for journey on 28/11/20 from Dehradun to madurai. There is no direct flight from Dehradun to madurai on 28/11/2020 so i will be traveling in indigo flight on 28/11/2020.
                      2. Hence, for travel allowance reimbursement i will be requiring non availability certificate from air india for the journey from Dehradun to madurai airport on DTD.
                      28/11/2020.

                        Ticket No. 098-[protected], Flight from Pune-Pantnagar on 30th August, 2020.
                        The flight was cancelled on 25th august 2020, but till now the refund has not been issued. The flight was booked through Goibibo, and they have already raised a refund request with AirIndia on the same day (Refund Application[protected]. But AirIndia has not done anything TILL NOW. The expected refund date was December 2020, then it changed to February 2021, and now it has again changed to April 2021.

                        I am tired of following up with Goibibo and AirIndia. Nobody is giving me a proper response.
                        Goibibo says that they have raised a request and as it gets approved by airlines, the refund will be credited to my account.
                        AiIndia says that they have forwarded my request to the concerned department and they are checking - This is their reply since December 2020.

                        I am tried of all this, all I want is my money back.
                        I have to chase the airlines and the travel partner for MY MONEY, for the ticket that was NOT cancelled by me! This is so wrong and pathetic.

                        Please look into this at the earliest.

                        No response in the complaint also. It has been 6 months since I have not received the refund for a flight that was cancelled by the airlines.

                          Hi,

                          I’m yet to get the refund of lockdown cancelled flight of April 2020. Makemytrip blamed air India for the delay. PFB their message.

                          “The application for your refund has been filed with Air India on 11/18/2020, with the refund application number: [protected] (provided by them), and it is taking Air India longer than expected to process the same. With an aim to arrive at a quick closure, teams are constantly and persistently following up with Air India for your refund and we will come back to you with more updates, as soon as we receive it.”

                            I want full refund for my missed flight. The airport authority forced me to miss my flight. I reached to gate 30 minutes prior from on boarding but they did not allowed me to on board and said gate is closed. They did not even called me once.

                                  Hi have 3 open tickets with Air India which mentioned below:

                                  i have been chasing their people for getting the refund on the above 3 tickets as i could not use the flights due to global lockdown. I have made around 100 calls and everytime i hear that my tickets are still open inspite of telling the person on other end that please put my ticket on refund. Everytime there is a new story.

                                  This is pure harassment as it seems no action has been taken and they are just buying time and trouble the customer. I would want this matter to be resolved ASAP and ask an management representative to respond to the email that has been provided in this e-ticket number.

                                      AirIndia ticket booked for travel on 19th Aug 2020 from San Francisco to Kochi under Vande Bharat was cancelled and refund requested on 15th Aug 2020. Contacted AI Customer services many times over phone. Nil follow up. complaint booked on e commerce website on 06th Dec 2020 ( service request no.48518).
                                      Nil response till date.

                                        I cancelled a ticket almost a month ago. At that time I was told by the AI customer care representative that I will receive the refund within 1-7 working days. I have not received it yet. I have written numerous emails ([protected]@airindia.in) and called the customer care no. many times as well. Everytime they give the same automated reply that ecommerce department will handle it and it is out of their control. Also, everytime they say they will reply within 24 hours, but most times it takes 5-6 days to receive a reply from them. The ecommerce department ([protected]@airindia.in) doesn't reply to any of the numerous emails I have sent them. The refund centre[protected] doesn't pick up the call. The customer care also refuses to let me talk to their supervisor or escalate my complaint. Really pathetic customer service from Air India.

                                        After writing numerous emails, about 3-4 each week for around 6 months, I finally received the refund. Details: Each of my emails would be followed by an automated email, from [email protected], that said something along the lines of "We care for you blah blah... We will get back to you within 24 hours...". However, they would reply after 5 days saying the same thing repeatedly- "We are investigating the issue and will take 15-20 days to resolve the issue." All of this added to about 6 months of waiting time to get my refund. Will never use Air India again. Pathetic service and liars at the customer care office. The ecommerce department is even worse, they never replied to any of my emails, never picked up the calls. This is more troubling because the ecommerce is responsible for refunds for online tickets and such. If you face issues with refunds etc, then be prepared to face a lot of hassle. You might want to threaten them by saying you will put a consumer case on Air India. Not really sure how effective that is. The best method is to not use Air India at all. But if you are here, then it's already too late for that.
