Looking for a compensation, for the airlines mis-conduct.

I was supposed to board a flight air india from delhi – mumbai on 25th nov, 2019 at 6pm, and an email was sent to me that flight has been delayed by 30 minutes, and new timings will be at 6.30pm. After travelling for almost 6 hours from chandigarh to delhi, and spending almost another 2 hours at airport, we found out that the flight was again delayed and new timings were at 7.20pm. When none of the crew members showed up, everyone got mad at the airlines and we were advised new timings of 8pm, and then finally crew members showed up at 8.20pm. We left delhi close to 9pm, which made us missed our connection to toronto from mumbai at 11:55pm.
Later we found out that air india did that on purpose to combine all their flights, as they were not able to fill their flights. None of the staff members of ai could advise us the reasons, and kept silent towards the whole scenario and even the manager was not able to accommodate any answers to passenger’s questions.

Once we arrived in mumbai around 11.30pm, ai staff members asked us to run towards the gate and helped us clear immigration and security, as they advised us air canada flight is waiting for us and they wont leave without us. As there are more than 30 passengers. 6 of the passengers including myself, made it out to the gate at 11:45pm and were advised by air canada’s staff members that the gates were closed and they had already informed ai staff that they wont wait for us. It made us more mad, as we ran all through the airport to board the flight and still didn’t get on to the flight, as ai staff members didn’t knew what they were doing.
And then the blame game started between ai and air canada, after a while we were taken back to the immigration to get our immigration stamped cancelled as they asked us to go back to air india’s counter and asked them to re-book us.
It took us almost 3 hours at immigration to get offloaded, and still no one came to apologize to us or offer us any water or food.

After 3 hours, we finally went to air india’s counter and saw that other passengers were there too, and already on to air india for making our life hell. There was no clear message from air india, what they were doing for us, we were not offered food, drinks, or any sort of compensation during this time. And when i asked if they are going to re-book or give us a hotel, no one had any answers for us. Finally at 4am, i heard my name and was advised now i am going to london leaving at 7am, and from there i will have a connecting flight to toronto with a 3 hours layover in london.
Still no sight of apology or follow up from the staff. After waiting from 11.30pm till 7am, finally we were on a flight to london, where the cabin crew didn’t treat us well again. The food they served to us, was worst than i would ever feed to my dog. I called the air hostess 8 different times, and no one came to me once. Every time i pressed the button, no one showed up. There were no drinks served on this flight, except cold tea and coffee.
Finally, we arrived in london, and after waiting for 3 hours, i was on a flight to toronto. Some of the other passengers were not issued a boarding pass by ai from london – toronto, as ai staff members in mumbai, issued to a few passengers and not to all. They just let everyone go to london, and wanted to get off from the responsibility and put it on air canada staff’s. As they knew once everyone arrived in london, it would be air canada’s responsibility.
I had got mine boarding pass already in mumbai, so i was not too worried. But i was concerned about the other elderly passengers, who were standing on their feet for almost all day and were not even offered water by the staff members.

Also, according to my tickets issued i was allowed to check in 2 bags for free with 23 kgs each, but ai staff members advised me that i am only allowed 1 bag and they charged me $146 dollars for my 2nd bag. They refused to see my ticket, which mentioned 1st and 2nd checked in bag free.

This has been the most ridiculous flight, and i would like to see what kind of compensation would i be offered for the delays and mis conduct by airlines and staff members and also extra charges for checked in bag.

    Sir, I have travelled from Pune to New Delhi on 19.11.19 by AI 850. I have checked in one baggage with tag number AI571040 / [protected].
    On reaching Delhi I collected my bag and went to my Hotel. After reaching there and opening the bag, I found my fashion jewellery pouch missing containing one pearl and one stone necklace and few pairs of ear rings.

    I suspect it was fished out before putting my luggage on belt at New Delhi Airport. Request an investigation in the matter for a possible theft by baggage handling staff on duty.

      I has booked my Delhi- Bengaluru- Hubli for 14.03.2019 and for back (on 17.03.2019) flight tickets through Air India website on 5th MArch 2019. Since there was no direct flight to Hubli from Delhi, I had to book ticket through connecting flight at Bangalore. Unfortunately my Hubli to Bengaluru Flight which was scheduled for departure at 4 pm on 17.03.2019 was delayed by several hours due to which it was not possible for me to catch the connecting flight from Bengaluru to Delhi at 09.00 PM, and thus i was forced to cancel my Hubli to Bengaluru Flight and i travel via road to Bengaluru to catch the connecting flight timely. I contacted to customer care of Air India and i was told that i will get the refund for cancelled flight within a week as delay was on part of Air India. But i didn't get any refund till date inspite of several calls and emails to Air India.
      Your are requested to please lodged my complaint and help me to get the refund from Air India as i have sent several emails but they are not bothering for that.

        I (Mr Vinay yadav) traveled from an air india flight from vishakapatnam to delhi in AI452 on 24th nov 19. i was having an American tourister red color trolley bag, which when i received at delhi airport was in torn condition as it was thrown by the luggage handling party and bag sides has come out. i request for the refund of my bag which i bought it at a price of 3500rupees.

          We are respectable citizens and tax payers of country. I'm frequent flyer of Air india business from past 18 years. i usually fly to US sectors every 3 months from past 18 years and never had any major complaints.But this time travelling with my family on 13th november JFK-DEL sector on flight no AI 102, out of 4 seats 3 seats were not operational and air india staff didnt actually bothered to repair prior to departure. As you know flight hourys normally are 14-15 hours and in such long duration of flight one needs a flat bed . My wife is a patient of back pain and because of this her pain got aggravated during flight.

          I'm attaching video also of non operational seats .Also for proof, there is cabin supervisor report which shows that buisness class seats were not working.             I live in australia and visited india recently and i had a flight booked to go from a delhi to mumbai on 2nd nov, flight no ai665 at 8 am and pnr no z52j2. I tried to check in online and kept getting error message. Rang customer support and she told me that my flight has been cancelled and she can put me on another flight at 4 am or 8 pm same day. It took the representative 1.15 hrs to change my flight and later on i found out that my flight was not actually cancelled and it did go at scheduled time. My whole night was wasted as i had to leave home at 1 am to be at the airport in time to catch the 4 am flight. I asked several people at the airport about who i speak to and no one could direct me to the right person. I was going to mumbai for 2 days and as a result of air india incompetence, one of these days was wasted due to lack of sleep on the night.
            What i want to know is :
            1. Why i was not informed we if the flight was cancelled.
            2. Why i was given wrong information that flight was cancelled even though it wasn’t.
            3. Why customer support lied to me and wasted my 1.15 hrs and i had to pay a huge bill as i was using my australian mobile to call them.

              Hi i am rajavel dhandapani i was traveling from jfk to delhi in air india on 6th november flight no ai 0102 everything was fine and good but when i get my luggages in delhi my trolly handles are damaged and i can’t use them and i was really having my hard times to move my trolly even i have taken pics in jfk of my trolly when i checked in throllys are in good shape when i checked in will share the pics too. It would be so helpful if you do the needful and any appreciable work from your side i need a proper explanation for this damage done to me. Thankyou

                Hi, i had booked 2 business class tickets e-tickets:[protected] &[protected] from mumbai to trivandrum for 11th of aug 2019 17:20 on 9th aug 2019 on air india from mumbai airport air india ticking office. This tickets were later cancelled on 10th of aug 2019 around 10 am (30 hours prior to departure) at trivandrum airport air india office.
                But no responses from customer care air india or any refunds yet.
                Air India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
                I performed a journey from Kolkata to Imphal on 09 Nov 19 by AI-713. During check in I deposited by luggage at Kolkata. After reaching at Imphal I have not received my luggage since 09 Nov 19 to till now. I also submitted a complain at Imphal Airport but air India staff is not giving any suitable reply.

                  Visited chandigarh air india office to change return ticket date for spouse only and to leave my return date as it was. I handed passport and details for my spouse and realised when i got home he had changed my return date as well. Next day when my son went to complain about this error made on their behalf, i was charged £125 for changing the return date. No charge was applied when changing my spouse return date. Cannot understand why my return date was changed when it was made clear to advisor.

                    Air india cancelled flight 591, which was supposed to start from chennai and land at bangalore on 11 nov 19. They announced the cancellation on 1 nov 19 via email and mentioned "cancelled due operational reasons kindly contact ai office" this in the email.

                    I called air india and they confirmed that refund would be done within 2 weeks from nov 1. I have placed multiple calls/emails and they keep saying it will be processed in 2 weeks - but it has been 22 days - and the refund is not available in my account.

                    I request help from this forum to help me get the refund.

                      I nayana bhatt had a reservation on ai985 on 4th november 2019 but because of a delay i missed out on my connecting flight to ewr — den by united airlines, i was promised by the ai support staff that they have already telephoned to ua at mumbai to delay the flight so that they could take me & other stranded passengers to ewr.
                      Alas this never happened & we all were stranded at mumbai airport till 6am on the 5th november 2019 before a hotel was given to me & others, next day nov.6th after 12 midnight i was able to board ua 49y, gate 46 seat46b [protected]. This has caused me profound harrassment & i want compensation for same at the earliest.

                        This is regarding my recent booked air ticket to Kochi from Delhi on 20 November 2019 on flight AI 933 which was scheduled to depart at 0600 hrs.
                        I reached Delhi airport T3 at 0430 hrs, waited at the queue, and while at the check in counter at 0500 hrs, to my surprise, the person tells me that the flight boarding time is over since flight is leaving at 0510 hrs. (refer attached screenshot also)

                        There was no prior intimation given to me or my travel agent on mobile/email regrading this change of schedule and because of which I had to miss a very important meeting with my client. There were few other passengers also with me who never got such a message and eventually missed the flight. I am filing this complaint to understand why such an important information was not passed on timely and demand a thorough probe on this matter so that this is never repeated in future.

                          I was travelling nag - del - chandigarh and back by ai flights october 16, 2019. My flight for del - chandigarh got missed due to delay of nag - del flight, hence del chandigarh flight tkt was cancelled. On october 30, 2019, i was informed through "ecommerce ecommerce" that refund for this sector shall be transferred to my account within 8 -10 days. However, i have yet not received the refund for cancelled tkt as on november 19, 2019. Relevant documents were submitted for ready reference. There is no communication from ai.

                            We have booked a flight from agatti to kochi on 3rd december for 6 passengers. After reading the newspaper, we found out that the flight has been cancelled. There was no intimation from the airline for the same. When i repeatedly called the city offices of the airline, there is no response. I have then called the agent make my trip who connected me to the airline. Two of the executives at air india hung up the call after listening to the issue. One executive kept us on hold for a long time, then connected us to a senior, who was still unable to provide resolution for this issue.

                            Among the 6 o[censored]s, we have already paid rs.1.5 lakhs for our accommodation at lakshadweep. Two of the have to take a flight back from kochi to bangalore on 3rd december at 10.30 pm. 4 of the passengers have to travel from kochi to coimbatore and leave from coimbatore to bangalore on 5th december.

                            If we now cancel the trip, we will have to bear heavy cancellation charges for the stay and for all travel bookings. The flight cancellations alone will cost us at least rs.10000 per person.

                            Is air india ready to refund that cost to us? Can we get a flight from agatti to bangalore on 3rd december and will you refund flight cost of rs.5000? If yes, we are willing to take that up. Or will you refund the cancellation costs of bangalore to kochi and back for us as well?

                            There are no ferry tickets also available for us to travel from agatti to kochi. We cannot be stranded on the island. Cancellation of these flights will be very expensive for the 4 senior citizens travelling with us and for us, who are working class employees.

                            I've booked ticket from Allahabad to Indore. Total duration of journey is 22hrs. luggage was booked till Indore. But I didn't receive my luggage at Indore. And neither my baggage was traced. Imagine When you go for an important meeting and you loose your luggage. Very irresponsible and carelessness of staff can be seen.

                              We a team of 5 members booked a flight to guwahati from bhopal it was a connection via delhi calcutta by air india and indigo. Due to the delay of air india we lost all other 2 flights and we got a terrible loss. As we were going for a work which has been cancelled now due to flight delay. We got the loss of rupees around 4.5 lakhs due to the single delay of flight. We asked the manager and he deny to help us, we have complete recorded video as proof and we are going to file a case against this in consumer court because we are unable to recover this loss.

                                29th oct 2019 (Time around indian time 11 pm), i tried to book air india flight ticket ai843 (Goa-delhi) for 15th feb 2020 online from moscow, but after money deducted from card, i didnt get any confirmation page or mail for flight confirmation. Called customer care, she said to write to ecommerce mail. I mailed but still no reply yet! Please respond!

                                  I brig ak sood, booked s ticket from dehradun to lucknow for 17 november e ticket no[protected], on flight ai-9646 from ddn to delhi and ai431 from delhi to lucknow starting at 0745 and 1220 hours respectively. On morning of 17 nov when i reached airport at 0645, i realised flight was delayed to 1230 with no intimation what so ever. No staff was there till 0705 hours and no alternative arrangements were made. Finally a change in timing of lucknow flight to ai-811 was made which was to leave delhi at 1900 hours. I am stranded here in airport, having started from my house at 0530 hours and will reach lucknow at 2010 hours at airport and then one hour more. This has caused so much inconvenience and agony, with no concern from staff here. It is a hopeless situation, no facility for arrangments for breakfast for stranded passengers or any subsequent arrangements. It is requested and submitted that adequate arrangements should be made to inform passengers in time, and if not maje other arrangements for stranded passengers and also necessary compensation be made to such traumatized passengers

                                    Dear madam/sir,

                                    My name is rejo raj and my wife's name is thara george. We live in salzburg austria. We were on a vacation to our native place in kerala from 4th october to 4th november 2019. Sadly, we choose air india for our travel and we had a very bad experience with them.

                                    We were supposed to board the air india flight from kochi to vienna via delhi on 4th novemeber 2019. The kochi to delhi flight was air india flight ai511 supposed to fly at 10: am and the connecting flight from delhi to vienna was ai153 at 14:55 pm from delhi. The flight ai511 was cancelled and a alternative flight ai 466 was schedules on 4th november at 7:35.
                                    We received only one mail regarding the schedule change on 1st october 2019 in which the change was not highlighted and we happened to miss and not read this very important change, since the change was not clearly highlighted.
                                    On the evening of 3rd november when we tried to do a online check-in, it was not possible for us to do so due to some error in the air india website. On 4th november when we reached the kochi airport at 7:30 am, we were shocked to learn that the flight was rescheduled and we had lost the chance to board the rescheduled flight. Without loosing time we immediately booked the next available flight to delhi in order to not miss our connecting flight to vienna. The flight from kochi to delhi was vistara flight uk884 at 9:35 (Which was earlier than the initially planned air india 511 flight from kochi at 10 am)

                                    We reached the delhi airport at 12:55 and we were relieved to reach there on time so that we can catch our flight to vienna. We reached the air india checkin counter at 1:30 pm. Up on enquiring with the staff, we were informed that we could not board the flight without paying a penalty because we didn't board the first flight. We were not informed of any such penalty when we enquired about the same in the air india kochi airport. The penalty had to be paid at a different counter (Which had a very long queue). We told the airindia staff that we are very short of time and begged them to help us such that we can board the flight. The staff in delhi were very rude and not welcoming at all. The counter to pay fine had a long queue and by the time we got our chance, they informed that they could not accept the penalty because our boarding time is over and they would no longer allow us to get in the flight even if the penalty is paid.

                                    We feel there was enough time to board the flight, had the air india staff given support considering our situation. We feel one hour was more than enough to move from the check in counter to the boarding point of the airport had we been not neglected and give proper care and attention.

                                    We would like to raise the following questions

                                    A) why should we pay a penalty for the flight we already booked? We don't understand this at all? This was a just a connecting flight and why missing the first flight should affect on boarding the second one?

                                    B) is it not the responsibility of the staff in the check in counter to help the passengers so that they wont miss their flight?

                                    C) were we denied the entry to the flight to vienna because the airlines sold the ticket to somebody else and our seats were not available (Since we did not board the flight in kochi and they assummed we wouldn't be doing the same for the next one).

                                    D) why could not the air india staff in kochi airport warn us about this situation and helped us because in the kochi airport we had more than enough time to fix any penalty issues?

                                    Due to this, we had to face severe mental trauma. Moreover we had to book a new flight from delhi using turkish airlines. We are asking for a compensation for the flights that we had to rebook from delhi to munich newly.

                                        This is nusrat khan here, i received a call on behalf of airindia regarding job placement in accounts department, they took 1500rs as registration fee and further asking to pay more 7550.
                                        As i felt something fishy i wanted to clarify it so please look into it.
