My husband and i have been loyal customers of airtel from many years now. we had airtel numbers when we were in delhi, and now since we have moved to bangalore around 4 years ago we are using the same network. we have always been paying all our bills on time.
But to our disappointment, airtel has started to be a bad network trying to shell out more money from our pockets.
I really regret to say that airtel has the worst customer care now, the representatives are not trained enough to help people with the best possible plans, so they can take advantage.
Let me explain,
I travelled to us in march. before travelling, i got the rs 149 international roaming plan activated.
None of the representatives told me that i can activate 999 plan for the data usage so i can save money. i used internet in dubai and us, but fortunately when i used data in dubai, they auto activated my 999 plan and i saved money and paid only 4000 rs approx (even when my usage was more than rs 54000), which i appreciate.
But when my husband travelled to us on june 22, he got the same 149 rs plan activated before leaving. he used internet in dubai and us to inform us about his whereabouts.
But in his case, the 999 plan was not activated when he reached dubai.
As he was already in roaming and could not call customer care, he sent an email to them asking why the plan was not activated and they activated 999 plan from june 24 and yesterday they sent us a bill of 38000 rs.
When he sent the email, rather than giving any reply on why the plan was not activated, they activated the plan from june 24. why no one replied to the email telling why it was not activated??? why airtel only knows how to pull money and not be responsible for what mistakes have been done by them??
I fail to understand why airtel is selective in activating plans.
We contacted the customer care and they say that 999 plans are not activated automatically, so here are the questions:
1. why was it activated for me then?
2. why was it not done for my husband?
3. where are the rules written in which case it will be automatically activated and which case it will be not? i need to see the link to the rules if it is written anywhere.
4. when my husband had called to activate the rs 149 plan, he had told the representative that he would be using internet in dubai and us. why are the customer care representatives not trained enough to tell customers about the better plans available?
Airetl has just made it a habit of trying to shell out more money from our pockets.
Airtel has been really bad with trying to help us with this issue. they reverted saying they can give us rs 500 discount. we are not begging you for money.
They do not acknowledge their fault, and do something about it.
