Hello Team. My concern here is with Airtel charging me in excess towards
mobile internet usage. Below, the details:
My name is Vinay Gundaveni and my mobile number is [protected]. My airtel
postpaid account has a credit limit of 3600 and bill gets generated on
every 26th. My monthly plan includes free internet usage of 500MB per
month.
Bill for November month got generated on 26th Nov and it was 1900/- (Due
Date is Dec 16, 2014). On Dec 13, 2014, I received an SMS from Airtel
saying my mobile internet usage as on Dec 13 is Rs 5464 and that I'll
have to pay Rs 5464 to continue using mobile internet services.
Shocked at reading the SMS, I called up Airtel and they told me that
they could help ONLY when the bill gets generated and so, I have to wait
until Dec 26th for the bill to get generated.
I went through the bill on Dec 27th and what i found was, Airtel shows
mobile internet usage of worth Rs 5627/- at around 10:49PM on Dec 12,
2014. This is totally a CHEAT!!
I called up Airtel on Dec 28th and after a long hold to speak to a
supervisor, I was told that there was no supervisor available and
someone would call me in 24hrs - which did NOT happen!!
I had to call them again and when i spoke to a supervisor, she told me
that there's nothing they could do and that bill information/amount is
correct. I explained the supervisor that in my relationship with Airtel
of over 2 years, I've never had such a huge internet usage and that too
on a single day!!! I've asked her to provide me with details as to what
did I browse/download such a huge data but she said that it they
cannot. This supervisor could help me with nothing but asked me to write
to [protected]@in.airtel.com explaining the while situation.
I wrote to Airtel explaining the whole situation but what I received was
a general-acknowledgement type reply which also said that the bill
amount is correct.
Now, I reach out to you asking for HELP and JUSTICE!! My questions are
1. Credit limit on my account is 3600/-. I've had an outstanding bill of
Rs 1900 as on Dec 12/13th, so, the maximum amount of service I should
be able to use would be not more than Rs 1700/- (unless I make any
payment). How did Airtel allow me use more than the set credit limit of
Rs 3600????
2. Airtel alerts me of my mobile internet usage everytime as I reach
closer to my free mobile internet monthly limit of 500MB. However, I
have not received any alert(s) for month of December. WHY???
Personally, I use only WiFi at home and not mobile internet. And at
10:49PM, I was home and so, I did not use any of the mobile internet
service.
AIRTEL IS CHEATING ME AND NOW, KEEPS CALLING ME!!
Please help me solve this situation!!
