Folks, Wanted to share a pathetic(refraining stronger words that better reflect my present experience) with airtel's LTE/4G service. Sharing this to both to find from other users about their LTE experience and also to escalate to higher levels to get not only a proper resolution, but also an explanation if this is how the service would be in LTE so that i can decide on continuing with them. I am particularly talking about LTE/4g service and i have been fairly satisfied with 2g voice/data and also 3g data, although late 2013 i was a little dissatisfied with a few CC interactions. I have been using LTE service(wifi router option) in Bangalore since October 2012. I have been very happy about the speed. However, on a very few occassions i have had to interact with their customer care in the past, it wasnt great compared to 2g/3g/voice customer cares that i and my wife have been patterns for nearly a decade. Here are the specifics: Original Issue faced: bad LTE signal for the last 2-3 weeks resulting in internet connectivity loss that forces me to restart airtel LTE router, which restores connection for a few minutes. Essentially, when LTE signal is good a green "internet/data" indicator glows. It turns off, when internet is disconnected due to lack of signal. This was happening every few minutes requiring restart. First complaint date: 9/6/14 Complained about the issue after having confirmed that there is indeed a connectivity issue and not a one off issue. A case was deligently opened. However, the following day, a support guy called and said a few steps to verify(some of them were not even related, which makes us feel if the complaint was firstly captured properly by the CC agent). While these steps were being verified by me and my wife, the support guy said he would call back after some time to confirm. He also gave his mobile number, when we insisted. He neither called back nor did he pick the call for 1-2 hours when we tried several times. Upon calling the customer care number, i learnt that the case was closed as the support guy had informed that the problem was resolved. Extremely unprofessional. I requested CC agent to reopen the case and not create new one as it would impact SLA for case closure. But to no avail with a standard reply : "our process doesnt allow us to reopen closed cases". Second complaint date:10/6/14 When the second case was filed by CC agent after the first one was unprofessionally closed by the support guy, within few hours, the same support guy called and started giving some excuses after intially arguing that "indeed we had confirmed that internet worked!". He started off all the way with some irrelevant troubleshooting steps over phone when i stopped him and said the relevant problem i was facing. He offered to send some technical guy. Within few hours another guy from his office called(looks like they are franchise of airtel and a different colleague of the initial support guy called this time). He agian was talking all over without knowing/attempting to understand the real issue. When i stopped him and told him the issue with lte signal going off on the router panel, he offered to send field engineer and upon insisting, he said he would come the following day(11/6). On 11/6, no one turns up or calls. I followed up with CC on 12/6. I even escalated to karnataka escalation number, when i was promised a "speedy" resolution. Within 2 hours an engineer did turn up at my site. He checked the router and acknowledged that the LTE signal indicator was going off because the signal may have been weak and eventually the internet(indicator) goes off. He upgraded the router software, claiming that software update would ensure that even if LTE signal is not found router would revert to either 3g/edge signal and internet would continue. I had requested him not to "close" the case until i call and confirm to the customer care. He agreed and left. Rest of the day(12/6) and good part of 13/6 i observed that the internet was slow and not stable. Upon noticing the light on router, the internet light was green only intermittently(LTE signal, which is what i am paying for) and blue for rest of the time(90% times - blue indicates that LTE is not available hence 3G/HSPP is being used). I again called the customer care escalation number, they heard my problem and promised to followup with the field engineer who visited my house(Mr.Abhishek, who was actually professional unlike the other support guys who spoke on phone, except that he closed 2nd case without confirmation from me about resolution). I followed up on another call to the CC escalation to provide the field engineer's mobile number and was promised due deligence. However, when i logged into my airtel web account, i saw that the second case was closed too. I again called up escalation team, and they said following(in summary: - the case was closed because the earlier case was about device issue. and now it seems like its a network issue - they cannot reopen the case, what so ever once closed. I asked/requested to be put in touch with Airtel's customer care's management who can provide a proper reply, but the lady was arrogant saying that it was the ultimate escalation point and cannot be forwarded further and the problem would be looked into 3rd case on 13/6/14: - The escalation team lady, offered to open another case saying the issue would be closed in upto 48hours. i refused to accept a new case being opened but it was in vain as she said, she doesnt have a choice. I vociferously discussed that, to me as a customer, its one issue " internet not working at LTE service level" and this series of cases being opened/closed should be their internal organizational stuff(like passing the case from one device department to a network department etc). For me its one problem, one case with one SLA(its a different issue that they come back on the same case and request more time, if there is a serious problem). Only on saturday, someone called up once to talk about the issue but neither did they visit the site nor did they followup. Again, I called up CC escalation team on monday(16/6) which is well beyond offered 48 hours resolution from the start of 3rd ticket, but the lady committed that someone would take care of the same on Tuesday(17/6). No one has called me till date today. My specific dissatisfaction and frustration is this: 1) cases are being closed unprofessionally(atleast thats how it looks to me) without engaging the customer 2) from 9/6/14 to 17/6/14(today) i have 3rd case open for the same issue. Airtel CC explains this as the only option because a) earlier cases were closed and cannot be reopned b) earlier cases were tagged as device issues and the latest case is markaed as network issue This has in effect, moved my "not able to use stable LTE service" resolution time to multiple days spanning across week with 3 cases, with each case having about 48 hours timeline. Even in that case, the 3rd case is open for more than 4 days. 3) Why should i as a customer care about which departments in airtel fix my issue(like device team, network team etc). For me, as a customer, i need to get my 4G/LTE service up and running. "period" I am hoping to hear from senior folks of airtel for an explanation, if they care at all for a loyal/long-term customer(with 2 voice subsciptions with 3g data, 1 3g data subsciption, 1 LTE/4g data subscription). If this is the level of service on LTE front, in my view i think a great brand seems to be falling short of it(atleast in this case).

Dear Airtel,

to this date the issue is not solved - people are getting in touch with me from airtel but not competent enough. Unfortunately, this notification from consumer complaint was in my spam folder.

The issue is being posted/discussed on Facebook too so that every user who looks up airtel India facebook page are also kept informed of the service apathy by airtel.You can easily find my details(Deepak Shivamurthy) from your FB page and FB/social media executives as I have
been giving updates on the pathetic service every 2-3 days. Even today,
I have posted the customer support status on FB's airtel page around
12/1PM. You can find the details.

I will anyway inbox my contacts/account details. But, if you are higher enough in the customer service organization please get me the right higher level customer service org's leadership representative as I have already been engaged with several airtel folks between June 16 to date, without a resolution. If you want to get the first level details, please contact your customer engagement colleagues: Vijay([protected]), Ankit Agarwal([protected]).

I want to conserve time talking to you folks if you are higher in authority than these 2 folks mentioned as enough energy has been spent in talking to various people and the issue still being open.

    I purchased a Samsung galaxy s duos 2 GTS 7582 mobile handset On 25 may 14 from chroma retail Nashik. the box of my phone mentions that i[censored] use a new air tel sim card in this phone u will get 1 GB 3g data per month for 2 months from air tel . so I purchased a new air tel sim with no [protected] but up till now no data has been credited to my account I had lodged a complain with air tel on 09/06/2014 ref no cnbra [protected]. on 12/06/14 they replied by sms that aapke account mein uchit recharge laabh jod diya gaya hai. but no 3 g data has been credited to my account yet.when I call air tel on 198 it takes 1/2 hour to talk to the customers care executive and then he assures that u will get the benefit in 1-2 days . but nothing has happened I urge Samsung & air tel to stop such gimmick offers i[censored] r not intending to fulfill them . I demand immediate action from airtel and credit data immediately to my account. rahul gadakh mobile no. [protected]

          AIRTEL RELATIONSHIP CENTRE, SUN TELECOM is a total scam. Address of store - 1/394A, Opposite Jadavpur Thana State Bank Of India, Gariahat Road South, Jodhpur Park, Kolkata - 700068. NEVER APPLY FOR ANY NEW CONNECTION AT THEIR STORE. They take all documents and then refuse to give connection. Interchange sim cards and then give it to the customer. The customers then go home and try to verify the connection but it fails because the sim card they get is not in their own name!

          One of the sim cards they gave me was not under my name, verification failed. The number was [protected]. Whenever i tried calling verification dept, they told me the number am using is [protected] and so when i told them my name it did not match the info they had. Its obvious, if i have another sim card whereas the envelope had [protected] this number written on it. So, Sun telecom said that its my fault that i tried to verify the number as if i knew they gave a wrong sim card, for which i did not even give the documents. I gave them the sim back, but they did not give me my documents back. They say its not possible to get the documents back as airtel's policy is against that.

          My question is that why cant u give me a new connection in my name then where verification wont fail as my documents will be submitted? TRAI tells to interchange sim cards and give connection in my name to someother person? That is legal? Why will i keep my documents in your office i[censored] cant give me a new connection? You people r irresponsible, and negligent while selling sim cards. Its airtel's FAULT! You stole my documents, am waiting for 7 days now to get it back. Either give me my documents back or give me a connection in my name. Your statements have got no logic whatsoever. And dont bring TRAI in between, i too know norms set by the TELECOM authority wherein its ILLEGAL to steal documents and give connection in my name to others.

            I have not subscribed to any net connection on my airtel postpaid no. [protected]... but somehow it has been activated on my number without any information and we are not using it a bit and we are getting a high amount of bill to pay (around[protected] per month). Airtel customer care is not helping me. and they are saying if you will not pay the bill, we will deactivate your connection.

              I have requested to shift my broadband connection from Indore to Dhar on 30/5/14. The company has promised to shift the connection within 8 days. Now its 3 weeks and i am not getting any response from Airtel service executives. I have called Airtel more than 200 times within 3 weeks regarding connection. The indore airtel executives are answering in very rough manner. Such type of services are causing very inconvenience to me. I have got a message on my registered number that The connection would get start on 6/6/14 as per the Airtel companys rules and guidelines but till 17/6/14 i am just suffering from the company's irresponse.

                I called customer care for asking balance on my number. The card is in tablet PC having no calling function. My experience with executives: 1. They are vernacular 2. They are arrogant 3. They follow different procedures for same complaint and then each of them says, 'this is what we are trained into'!! 4. They argue with their customers 5. They don't forward the call to seniors even if customers urges to speak to and worst is they cut call on themselves by putting it on hold for long time. This is very frustrating and time consuming.

                  Hi, I am a user of airtel no. [protected] for 6 years now. On 10th jun I have opted for postpaid service on the same no. & I have submitted all the documents along with Rs. 250.00. As per the information from Airtel customer care the postpaid service will be activated on the same sim within 48 hours after submission of the documents. on 15th Jun I have received confirmation that address verification has been done & services will be activated in 2 hours. Since then there is no service on the mobile. I tried to contact to LRK guy Avinash from my another no. but he completely ignored to help & was very rude while talking. & now he is not picking up the phone. I have contacted to Airtel Customer Care several times but there is no resolution. In fact one guy has given me the fake Service Request # [protected]. I spoke to Aadil today morning & he said I need to go Airtel Outlet to check for it, he cannot help me. Since 2 days my no. is out of service & I am completely lost. I have been given misleading information since beginning & this s very serious issue & the matter of compliance. I have lost trust in Airtel now as they don't care about their consumers. This is a request to activate the postpaid service on the no. as soon as possible or resume the previous service so that I can opt for another service provider. Looking forward for your response.                     I am a Airtel Mumbai customer with mobile [protected], recently I have lost my sim in hyderabad, So I went Airtel Headoffice thats in Begumpet Hyderabad to get my new sim with same phone number, so some lady and someone called RK collected my documents and issued me a New sim and told me that they are going to activate my old number in new sim within 4 to 5 workings days since they had to send my documents to mumbai and get this done, however it’s been more than 8 working days still my number did not get activated and they also took my alternate number which is [protected] and they said they will call me once it is activated or in case of any issue however I am not sure why they dint call me yet or activated my number, I am very much upset with airtel services, since this number was important to me and it’s still not yet activated on my new sim.                       Sir, I have been using the airtel prepaid number ([protected]) since 2007. The number is in my father's (late) name. There is currently a problem with my sim card and it is not being detected. So, the customer care authority asked me to apply for a duplicate sim card. I told the customer care authority that my father is no more and if is it still possible to get a duplicate sim. The authority said that it is possible. When I went personally to apply for this, they (Airtel office in Ascendas IT park, Tharamani, Chennai) said that they won't be able to do it as the card was in my father's name. I told them that my father is no more and that I would like to change the ownership to my name. I told them that I would be more than happy to provide them with the proof of his death and the legal heir document. But, the personnel very rudely said that he will not do it and that my father has to come to get a duplicate sim card. I really was not sure if he was that dumb or if he was really that inconsiderate. He said that he will only be able to change the number to postpaid to be retained under my name. Is he trying to boost his sale by doing this? Is it really an unforgivable sin to transfer the prepaid sim from my father's name to my name? This is the worst service and response that I have seen off late. Request you to provide me with a swift resolution. Adithya

                          I ported my number ([protected]) from BSNL to Airtel. All formalities have been completed. Physical verification is completed. On-Phone verification is completed. I had Airtel Signal on my cell-phone @7:00 AM on 06/15/2014. But i lost signal at around 7:15 on 06/15/2014. Since then neither my BSNL phone is working nor my Airtel sim is working. I have talked with at-least 10 of your service representatives. They keep giving me 4 Hrs notice and keep telling me that the phone will start working soon. Half of the times they will just disconnect the phone. I am without any phone service since last 24 Hrs and i am incurring heavy business losses.

                            Hello, I had made a request to change my existing number ( [protected] ) to Post paid from Prepaid. I got address verification call verified on Friday 13/06 Evening. Since then I am not getting the signal at all ( NO SERVICE ) I was told that the same SIM will be converted to post paid and need not change the SIM. I am trying to call to the Airtel representative Yashoda -[protected] who has taken the request at Saraswathipuram Mysore location she is not responding and when i am calling 121 they say its still in Prepaid and post paid number is disconnected. WHY AM NOT GETTING SIGNAL ???? Even I tried to call Store manager Naveen Kumar +[protected] he is also not responding. Currently i am not getting the signal at all for 3 days now. Please Escalate the issue and get the issue fixed and take necessary action on the Manual Misses. I will file a complaint with TRAI for this hopeless service.                                 I requested for re-activation of services last monday (9th June) . It took 6 days POOR AIRTEL Services to take my call and finally when they activated, again I faced issue with connection. I called to raise a complaint yesterday, nobody visited my place till now, and when I made a call again today - to my wonder- they say - NO complaints in my name.

                                    It was the month of April when I got an Airtel Broadband connection setup with a plan of 1299 which they increased with Rs 200 for 'input cost purposes'. Being asked about for clarification they took a months time to reply and disconnected the connection for 3 days straight. I run a small business which runs on internet and with this incident I incurred a loss of Rs 1 Lac. Having informed Airtel about it they registered a complaint. However instead of escalating the compaint they sent goons to my house threatening to pay otherwise there would be consequences. With so much disservice and threatening on Airtel's part i decided to cut off the connection as its nothing but a source of trauma for me as I spoke to everyone of them from executive to manager for around 70-80 hours in a months time and to no avail of any resolution.

                                      As a AIRTEL customer me and my husband we are using AIRTEL MY PLAN form past 6 months, we both wanted to change it to Corporate plan as we both work for a corporate company. To change to corporate plan, we approached the airtel customer care office at Pheonix marketcity bangalore. We have asked to send the scan copy of our company ID's to [protected]@in.airtel.com . we did it accordingly and sent the mail on 5th of June-14. After 4 to 5 days when we got no-response from airtel for that mail. Again we went on 9th June asked about the progress on change in plan then CCE said that our approach was not right for any change in plan (even we were guided by the airtel customer care executive only). so, we again started from zero and submitted all the required ID, Residential proofs and other document sign on next day. After that what ever happened is really really torture for us and below is the entire experience is mentioned in a sequence: 1. We have submitted our documents on 10th June-14 evening approx by 4 PM. ( But at that time NO CCE has informed us that due to this change over our number will be deactivated for next 48 hours) 2. Next day on 11th June-14 once again my husband visited the airtel office then he found that application was not sent head and kept on the CCE desk only. OK That's fine. 3. On next day on 12th June-14 evening on by approx 8.50 PM airtel service was suddenly stopped on our respective numbers ([protected] & [protected]). ( But we were really surprised to see that not a single communication has come from airtel for it) 4. Next day my husband personally went again and checked with them in early morning. At that time they said that our connection will be suspended for next 48 hours (Any one can easily assume that how many important calls can come during that period for person working in International MNC and Marketing department) 5. We waited for next 48 hours without connectivity. (In between we requested 100 times to airtel CCE to make this entire process little quick but all wast... Process is process) 6. On 14th June-14 my husband mobile phone connectivity resumed after 9:00 PM but my phone was still not working. that night we I tried checking with CCE through mobile then they said my application form was still not processed or reached (Even though it was sent along with my husband papers only) 7. On 15th June-14 (10:00 AM) we got call from one of representative of airtel asking for address verification for my husband mobile no. When we asked him about my document status then he also said its not processed still. On 10:30 AM onward We tried checking with the same CCE, on here given number ([protected]) who has collected our documents at Phoenix Marketcity but she was not picking our calls. (Even in between her phone was coming busy so many times. finally she didn't answered any of our call and messages) On 11:00 AM we called customer care help desk of Phoenix Marketcity and got the store no. In that airtel store the same girl was present over there but not responded to our calls. when we spoke to her she started giving excuse of not proper support of back end team and server down. then the same time we asked her to give her manager number to guide us properly. she gave one of her managers number ([protected]). when we called this new gentlemen. He didn't picked our calls but later on he called and once we explained everything to him he has come up with another brilliant excuse of "48 working hours" and said that he will let us know by tomorrow end of day (means by 16th June-14) evening that when our problem will be resolved. (when we said tomorrow onward due to office nobody will be here at home to complete this address verification process during day time, then his reply was self confusing and not satisfying). During this entire process almost we have found one thing very common in top to bottom of employees. They are really non responsive against customer inconvenience and how cares about attitude and when we said we will complain to your Superior. then very casually they say "Please do it or go ahead". I am really surprised that almost weekly me and my husband gets messages saying that you guys are valued customers for airtel and " We have revised your credit limit to avoid any inconvenience". This entire episode has given us really bad experience with Airtel CCE and their respective managers. Even right now I am not sure this issue will be taken care properly because I can see this entire google pages are full of complains against CCE of airtel and God knows how may taken care till date. So I am marking it to every possible Email ID, I got and given to us. If possible resolve this issue otherwise we will not have any option except switching our service provider with suggestions to our friends and relatives. Hoping for best support from "Self acclaimed India's best telecoms service provider"

                                        Dear sir, My airtel mumbai number [protected]. Since last 2 days there has been network issue on my phone due to which i am not able to use data services. This happens usually when i am at my home.I tried conveying this to customer care executive but there has been no help, they say ur network is proper. Kindly Help me
