Complaint-1: Overcharging bill with vague explanation. I was using internet services for last 2 months, and deactivated it on 17th April 2014 15:21(as per SMS another same SMS 15:32). I being a very particular person, didnt want to be charged for Internet rentals for next billing cycle (cut out date 19th APR 2014), as I didnt know how long it will take to deactivate so gave the request before the cut out date. And the vagueness (precise word pathetic ) of your service is I have been charged for usage from 12.00 AM of 17 th april 2014. On top of that the person who handled the deactivation request never informed me about this hidden clauses. In what world is this explanation valid and what do you expect me to do, call the call center exactly at 12.00 AM? Complaint-2: I am not a criminal to be talked in this voice and attitude and making claims. Call details: Time: 12:13 PM Date: 23 April 2014- Agent Name: Anand. When i called 198 for explanation of this INR 49.00 extra charge, the person told me the above (really pathetic) reason. As soon as i received the confirmation sms i deleted the Airtel Settings (Even the MMS setting; as i dont trust you people at all). This attitude guy of yours said i have not deleted the settings (god knows how fool you estimate customers are? there is no way you can track if i have deleted the settings or not, and if you can you are violating my privacy for which i can drag you to court for claim made by your non executive -executive). He was talking in a way that I am a criminal and have committed a lots of frauds by not paying the bills. On to that he was like asking me questions about how airtel system work when a service is activated and stuff. He should be the one who should be answering the questions and customer is not an expert on what pathetic level of system design Airtel has thoughtfully (sarcasm) implemented. What I want? 1>. INR 49.00 deducted from the bill with a mail/ snail mail clearly stating that this was fraudlent charge due to discrepancy in our system of billing and misinformation while deactivating the internet service.(please do use the word waive off as its not something that you can be generous of saying waived off.) 2 >. Porting out- I want clear idea and amount i need to pay to port out the number. the rental of 8 days pro rata basics till the number ports out. I dont want any kind of issue created while porting out from this pathetic service. As a manager myself I suggest you, if you keep hiring people who cant even talk to customers in a proper way it reflects your incompetent image too. Milind Patil

Following is a very scripted response from your end to my very clear mails indicating what issues i have faced. Refunding is not a major issue, which your manager has failed to understand. My issue is what is the better time for me to disconnect any activated service.

Also if you have charged it wrongly or due to your faulty system it is not a gesture you are able to endow upon me.
EG-
if I use 2 GB internet on 17th of a month and then I place a deactivation request at 3.30 PM 17th of the same month, would you bill me for INR 16000.00?. (As per your billing which says that 2GB is worth INR 16000.00) if the answer is yes please kindly let me port out.
If not let me know how and when should i deactivate a service.

Also I had clearly asked about how much extra to pay to port out this and another number which have been charged in similar manner. but that is not mentioned anywhere in the mail. If you are too busy to read the complete mail, please do let me know, even i am busy person and thats the reason I missed out your call.

This is in reference to your e-mail dated 23 April 2014, regarding the billing discrepancy for your airtel mobile number ***************.

We tried to reach you on your number ***********on 26 April 2014 at 12:10 PM but we were unsuccessful in our attempts in reaching you as there was no response from your end.

Further, we wish to inform you that charges levied against the invoice number[protected] towards the monthly usages are correct and valid as per the usage.

However, we would like to inform you that we have already adjusted an amount of Rs.49.00/- (with service tax) as a one-time service gesture on 23 April 2014 towards the GPRS usages. The adjustment provided will reflect in the subsequent invoice.

The current outstanding against the above mentioned number is Rs.236.95/- as on 26 April 2014. Hence, we would request you clear the same.

We regret for the delay in response.

    Hi, I had purchased Airtel Digital TV on 11th March 2014 and My Customer ID is [protected]. My 1st recharge had got over on 10th April 2014 and as I Out of Town, I had to wait to get back to town to recharge it. Post getting back in town, I called Airtel Digital TV customer care on 22nd April 2014 regarding recharging my account. Upon which I was told that in addition to the due recharge amount, I will also have to pay Late payment fee of Rs. 20. I find this Late payment fee of Rs. 20 as being unlawfully levied to me (and million other customers like me) on below ground: It is a pre-paid service and not post-paid, so the question of Late Payment does not arise. Could you please look into this malpractice of Airtel Digital TV through which they are fleecing money from their customers through unlawful charges. Thanks and Regards Arindam Biswas

    Hi i am koushik my customer id [protected] since i have been to abroad for a year so i told to disconnect my dth, now i would like to start the service but the airtel cc told to recharge for min amount and wait for 48 hrs they took all details about my STB ID, Viewcard No., C-ID, and forwarded a mail to the concerned dept. but almost 1/2 month over still no one ever called me and not yet activated and even registered complaint 63161694 irresponsible Airtel

      Hi, I have 4g-Airtel connection ([protected]). My billing duration is from 20th march to 19th April. I was receiving 4g network intermittently in the march so I filed a complain but didn't receive any response. Then I requested for cancellation of my connection. After 5-6 request they suspended my connection. Now I have received full bill for this month. In April I didn't receive 4G network. Please suggest me how to file a complain in consumer court.         My number was getting migrated from Corporate to Personal around a week ago and suddenly - my number was deactivated. Without my knowledge Airtel has not only deactivated and my business colleagues and family started getting a message this number doesn't exist. This has caused a lot of collateral damage and has affected my business. On top of it - I was traveling to a foreign country and put in lot of requests to couple of people- the so called SPOC - Sangeetha - but no response at all. I also did post on FB around 4 days ago and got a message back saying they will look into it and get it resolved within a day but nothing happened. It is disheartening to say the least and the callousness with which they are treating is something I didn't expect from a professional company like Airtel. The number is [protected]. Very disappointed with the kind of customer support given out - they don't seem to care about their customer's at all. No apologies from their end either. Any kind of help is appreciated.           DND is not activated into my airtel postpaid number after lodge 6 times complaint to airtel customer care and also sending activation sms but the service is not activated. Getting so much ads and phone calls from various agency and marketing agencies. Getting so much frustrated. I am a service man working on a private company, and as you can understand that in most of private organization not allowed to pick any phone calls or busy with youy mobile.             I am being charged Rs.5 since several months
            for a service I dont need. There is no way I
            can deactivate. Any attempt to deactivate
            through SMS gives an 'INVALID' response.
            please stop the service immediately and
            reverse the charges. There is no validation
            code seen below most of the time; this is a
            cheating fradulent service.

              I am using micromax116 Canvas HD phone and my Airtel app therein. It is next to impossible to submit a service request through the application for the following reason. Once choosing the SR option the user gets a screen of three items viz., mail id, subject and description. Once I fill up the first email id column and go to subject box the SUBMIT CANCEL buttons vanishes and gets overlapped by the keyboard. Though a touch phone the screen could not be scrolled up eilther to get these buttons back. After filing up the service request or complaint the position is the same an id could not get those buttons. After repeated trials when the user goes to 1st column of email id again these buttons appear. Thanking God for helping if you press SUBMIT with fond hopes after few seconds there is STOCK REPLY Display ' we are unable to process your request please try after some time. please restart the app' with OK button thus making your hope short lived. What happens to the patient effort of typing all the text in the description box. There should be a provision to atleast save and reload as part of the application as such loading failures happens all the time. The officers in charge of customer service SHOULD PERSONALLY USE THE APP and get satisfied and then only launch the same as taling to Service Executive is equally troublesome effort mostly unsuccessful despite patiently hearing all the schemes though you have to choose No1 you can do it only after hearing all the details whereas in many IVRS APPs the number input is soon recognised and menu moves as per selection. WHY THIS PUNISHMENT FOR USERS - FOR Having chosen to AIRTEL Customer????????

                I have purchased the dongle of airtel and after one month I have disconnected, but their customer care executive Ms.Suryakala called me requesting me to change it to prepaid as airtel does not want to lose its customer. The case is not they want to loose the customerbut they wont get the chance to loot the customer. Ms.Suryakala of Airtel gave me false promises that my one month bill be waived if i migrate to prepaid. beliveing her words I went to one of the Airtel showroom to convert, to my surprise they took the backlong amount of 666/- and convertied it to prepaid, now they are sending me again bill for 149/- as a one week billing. For your kind information M/s AIRTEL (BHARATHI AIRTLE) i did not gave u one week time it is you have taken the one week time then why should I pay the amount. Let me be frank if your company is in losses and need money let me give you the charity ask directly but dont loot the custmers by using the esteemed customers. This is really a cheat on ur part.                     I was send sms for number portability from vodafone to airtel. I paid extra amount to vodafone (there is no outstanding also unbilled amount in my account). When I check with vodafone everything cleared from my side they said need to contact airtel. When I called airtel, they replied it's waiting for address verification. On 11th Apr 2014 I got order number for number portability. But still not there is no response from airtel. I got sms from airtel, saying that i need to contact [protected]. but when i called no one response.. My order ID:[protected] my no:[protected] unique porting code is VT186894. still now no one contact from airtel side. I called daily for airtel customer center, the folks also not giving proper information. please me.

                    This complaint still not resolved. No one contact me yet. The email the given email ID past 10 times. Still now no response. I submitted this complaint on 10 back. Kindly help me to do. every time address verification team from airtel asking money to verify my address. Should I need to provide money? the following number person from airtel sending sms.. [protected] but still now no one come to check address verification..

                      Airtel is a real cheater. I have 3g balance of 55 mb but this cheating network charged me rs. 154 from main balance and my main balance becomes zero...

                      So i called 198 to report but the useless customer care executive told me that i used large data download. I asked that stupid again why amount was charged even i have 55 mb 3g balance.
                      He is dumb and told me that he will transfer call to his senior officer. He put the call on hold for more than 5 minutes and finally he disconnected the call also without telling any details

                      Hello cheating airtel are you listening ????

                      Trai should put some rules or impose a fine for wrong debit for this cheaters

                        done on 08.01.2014 in my credit card account. I have received an sms at 08:04
                        PM stating that there is a transaction of Flip Kart worth of Rs, 31, 500%.when I
                        was immediately call to customer care officer & informed to them & am
                        Not done this transaction & kindly block my credit card & stop the
                        transaction immediately like that i inform to customer care officer .Finally
                        they said don’t worry about this money within 7 working days Refund your money
                        & we issue a New credit card also like that they said & they
                        immediately issued a New credit card in 3 working days .But I wait for 7 days
                        they do not solve the problem . After 7 days
                        am Finally decided to complain a Cyber Crime Police Inspector of Mr.
                        K.Sudarshan Reddy File the FIR [FIR:11/2014[23.01.2014] A.P.P.M.Orders 470, 500
                        ] in Cyberabad near Gachibowli & Cyber crime police was find out this
                        fraudulent transactions is done in New Delhi some unknown person his details
                        Crime Branch Police only having. Kindly if the bank give a timeline,
                        cooperation with me and hope with Cyber crime police will catch that fraudulent
                        person soon and money also recover soon back
                        kindly give a some of valuable solution for me & waiting for your replay.

                          I m using airtel prepaid connection n my mobile no. is [protected].Some days back airtel executive called me n told me about postpaid plan.I liked the plan so i decided to convert my and my brothers prepaid connection to postpaid n to buy a third new sim for my mother, according to the plan intercalling on these no.s will be free. Some customer executive visited my home n collected the recquired documents on 12/4/2013 n told me the new no. [protected] wil be activated in a day while other two no.s will be converted in 2-3 days. My brothers no. [protected] got converted to postpaid on 15th but the no. [protected] was not converted n the new no. which i got was not activated. I tried calling the executive who visited my place but his no. was switched off.I visited the airtel relationship centre in sadar nagpur but they said they cant help me.Next day i tried calling the executive n i got connected he said he will check in the system n let me know.He told me according to there system my no. was converted to postpaid but in reality it was not.I again called him on 17th he told me the new sim with [protected] is alloted to some other person n you have to resubmit the documents n we will give you a new no.and when i asked him about other no.s conversation to postpaid he told me it will be done in 24hrs.On 18th my no. was still not converted, he told me someone in airtel has commited some mistake so it will take time for my no. to convert. By this time i have lost all my patience and i asked him not to convert my no. to postpaid neither do i need a new sim from them, all i wanted him to do was convert my brothers no. back to prepaid as the whole idea behind three postpaid sims was intercalling free between them, without two postpaid sims third sim was useless to me, but the customer executive tells me he cant do it n i have to wait for 90 days for converting it back to prepaid. i feel cheated and want airtel to convert [protected] back to prepaid...

                            Very horrible experience from Airtel prepaid mobile services, they deducted Rs 50 for 1 min local call. When i call customer care they told me that i have made a ISD and due to this Rs 50 has been deducted. When i asked for which country they are charging Rs 50 then they simply told they don't have any idea. Also how a local call can be transferred to ISD call where as it was received by correct person. Always they try to cut amount if balance is more than Rs 50. Its very horrible to recharge Airtel number any more.

                              Me and my landlord have requested for a new connection from Airtel broadband on 11-Mar-2014(Tuesday). The representative came to my house and collected the documents and security deposit of Rs 500/-. He promised me that i will get the connection by Friday. this did not happen though, so i called him on Sunday 16-Mar-2014, then he told me that there is a problem with new connection in my lane for which he requires to setup extra box and he promised me that it would take couple of days more. I believed his words and waited till 23-Mar-2014. this time he told me that his executive was already working in my lane to fix the box and promised me that i would be contacted anytime in the day for installation. I waited for couple of hours and called him and no response him. I waited couple of more days and called him again, no answer to the call. Meanwhile my landlord called him and he told there is no feasibility of new connection in my area and will get refund in 21 working days. I got this message from my landlord and i called him for 50 times in a single day, he never bothered to answer my call, sometime accidentally he answered and he did not even spoke single word. I called from my wife's phone and he told his brother is outside and after that never answered from my wife's phone as well. All of a sudden on 10-Apr-2014, i got a message from airtel that they have received a request and it will be processed in 3 working days. today it's 18-Apr-2014, still i didn't receive any call from airtel.                               The service from airtel getting bad to worse. Now I have got a call from executive asking me to provide address proof. What are these people doing all these months. they said initial cheque returned due to some issue(I wonder how did it return, even speedpost people these days call us to find the address) so i asked them to send it to my office address. in July they said they will do it and now they are asking me to submit proof for change of address. I don't have any proof to give my office address. So I asked them to send it by person to my home address. They said it is not possible. This kind of behaviour is not expected.

                              Definately I will never go for airtel in my life. given a chance I would like to file a consumer case on them too.

                                I activated 2GB 3G data pack on 20th March but was not getting details of data used in Internet sessions. I wrote to [protected]@in.airtel.com stating the issue and was informed about options to dial *123*11# & *123*44# Toll free) to check the 3G balance and validity. The data pack expired on 12pm of 16th. I used Internet post that and was charged at the rate of 3p/10KB. As I was in the dark about my 3G pack validity and available data, Rs. 1038 was deducted from my account. I wrote an email stating the hefty deduction and was told that deductions are charged at 3p/10KB. I did not pay for usage post 4 weeks and should have been reminded of end of validity and data but that did not happen. All my emails after that have not been replied. I called the customer care, Service Ticket Number[protected]. I was given the same reply. The IVR disconnects the call the first time saying ''You have exceeded the trail limit''. This happened again when I called the Nodal Officer on [protected]. There is no provision of transferring the call to Nodal Officer and customer has make a fresh call. Airtel took the liberty to charge me at 3p/10KB but conceals the details of data usage. Earlier Airtel used to send messages post internet sessions which helped customers to keep track of their data usage and validity. They stopped this service and is leading to customer not knowing the exact status. This provides unfair advantage in 2 ways: 1. Fearing excess usage customer uses very low percentage of what he paid for. 2. Customer gets deductions like me for excessive usage which is calculated at a rate which is 20 times that of 3G packs. Airtel should refund the money deducted from me and provide customers with details of data usage.

                                  My airtel mobile number: [protected] Monthly my plan charge = 399 (For 30 days) 1 day charge = 13.3 (399/3) So for 21 days = 279.3 (Bill amount - 299.25) Similarly, Monthly booster charge = 200 (For 30 days) 1 day charge = 6.66 (200/3) So for 21 days = 139.86 (Bill amount - 150) Airtel being an huge network seems to have done the bill calculation wrongly with NO CARE for Customers.

                                  I don't see any mail reply back on this concern.Can I have a valid justification for the below calculation. ??Also I would require a full clarification on the entire calculation of the bill.Not only the monthly rental and boosters.But I would need a proper explanation on call details (Local calls, National calls land line etc., )I received a call now this morning and the representative mentioned that the calculation is correct.I insisted for giving clarification and after waiting for more than 10 minutes, I was told that the billing is done wrongly.Can't the concerned team look into the issue and call the customer ??

                                  I still haven't received the reason on why the calculation was done wrongly. A mail from Airtel says, there was no issue with the software. In that case, how could there be a mistake in calculation.

                                    I have an Airtel 4g connection in Munnekolal, Marathahalli, Bangalore. I'm using this connection to run my small startup software company. On Apr 2 2014, my connection went down suddenly. I waited for 1 or 2 hours and called the sales guy who sold the device to me. Thats when he informed me saying that Airtel network was down in entire Karnataka. So what? I want it to be resolved asap. I asked him what is the ETA - no idea. When he sold the device to me he advertised that it would automatically switch to 3g or 2g if 4g was not available. I asked him why its not switching - no idea. I had to suspend the office for the day. But it didn't come back even the next day - whole of next day. Thus I lost my company's precious 2 days of business because of this irresponsible uncaring behaviour from Airtel. All these times, I was calling the Airtel Customer Care number, but when I punch in the DTMF to reach technical support - no one picks up the call. I want them to acknowledge this event, give me an explanation of what had happened and compensate me for my loss of time and business.

                                      I bought a new post paid connection from Airtel website where I chose my plan, chose my mobile number and paid the deposit amount of Rs 500. Till today around 10 days after submitting the request I have not been provided the sim and neither have they collected my documents . So I requested the airtel nodal officer and yesterday the appellate authority to kindly refund my depost amount. But no one is responding now.                                       If you read my post carefully you will find out that I want refund for my transaction as Airtel failed to provide me the post paid connection around 15 days after I submitted the required money. Kindly update me with cancellation status and number of days in which I can expect to get the security deposit carefully.

                                      No response from Nodal officer, Appellate authority and airtel presence team of any mails. This is the way you are resolving the problem. Just refund my security deposit I am not going to take this connection now under any circumstances after so much harassement.
