I was using Airtel Broadband and Fixed Line service in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR region. On 19th Oct'12, I requested them to shift my services to my my new address in Gurgaon. The fixed line service was shifted on time but in spite to repeated follow-up Airtel was unable to shift the Broadband service. There employee' (not naming them here) made repeated promise but did not turn up at the designated time. They often did not leave any message and also did not take phone calls. This happened 2-3 times and lead to frustration.

Frustrated by their behavior, I send a request to disconnect my Airtel Broadband service on 28th Oct 2012. This request was send thru their website www.Airtel.in and they gave me a reference number LB[protected] acknowledging my request.

I received the bill for Dec'12 and was shocked to see a charge of 854/- for Broadband in spite of my cancellation request which was acknowledged by them. There was also NIL usage.

On receiving the bill, I called on their customer care number and explained the episode. I also gave them the above reference number as a proof of my cancellation request. Surprisingly, the customer care team was unable to locate their own reference and requested me to go to the nearest Airtel shop and lodge another request for Broadband cancellation. I went to the Airtel shop in Galaria market Gurgaon and submitted the request for cancellation and for waive-off of the excess charges of 854/-. They gave me a service request 26416430 with a promise to resolve the query in next 72 hours.

I waited for 3 days but did not hear from the Airtel team, I tried reaching the customer care on 07.01.13 and they made me repeat the entire story all over again to 2 different people (a executive and his manager with call duration of over 22 minutes wherein they kept me on hold for over 5-7 min). Again another service request number 27070264 was handed over to me with the promise of a callback in 24 hours. Since I did not hear from again, I called the next day and again with the pain of explaining the whole story all over again (again 2 people who wasted over 20 min).

At the end of the call on 8th I was requested to call the nodal office (as the scope of my complain was beyond the powers of customer care team). Sounds funny but it is correct. I called the Nodal office[protected] on 21.01.13 and was made to describe the entire episode again and handed over another reference number[protected]. My complain is still unresolved and I have decided not to pursue it any longer. It is a complete waste of my time and I feel the effort is not worth the amount.

Overall I feel, it is pointless to break your head with Airtel as their executives are not-empowered to make any decision and the seniors are not willing to resolve customer queries. I have now requested them to terminate my landline connection as well.

If you are using Airtel, prey to god not to make you interact with their customer care.

    my Airtel no [protected] validity expired on 11 jan 2013...by through customer care they told me recharge of Rs 8/- you will get one month validity. I recharged on 19/01/2013 of rs. 8/- then they told me to rechrge of rs. 39/- Again i recharged of Rs. 39/- no effect....then i call to customer care i spoke with senior person Mrs. Prinyanka he told me recharge of Rs 112/- but i didnt......i told her send me sms of rechrge Rs.112 for the validity then i will do it. i have balance till yesterday Rs. 23.70 today its NIL.
    today i top up Rs. 10 balnce showing 7.90 and validity 11/04/2013 service is blocked

    hopeless service.......

      My self NAVEEN RT from kannur , iam using my airtel connection last 8 years [protected] , last 25th januvary 2013 i take a nano sim from airtel connect krishna communication for swapping to my number to this nano sim, but the issue is my old sim barred and telling that the number does not exists , and also the new sim is also not working , i contact so many times airtel office, manager Mr sanjay and air tel customer care so many times
      but no reply from any side ,please take over the issue urgently

        I got miss call from number[protected], i call back on same and he told me to that i have won lottery of rs 25 lacks.. told me to call on [protected] number and ask for Mr Vikas Verma for ur lottery... please some look into that... the call cost me arround 45 rs for 3 minutes...

        Airtel — Calls from fraudsters based in pakistan

        Dear Airtel,
        I'm getting calls from numbers starting with +92 (Pakistan)
        I know no one there,
        [protected] is the number
        please ensure that i'm not troubled by these un wanted calls

          Sir,

          I have recharged my airtel sim with 54Rs on 29th of December,2012 but haven't got the same reflected in my account.
          According to the plans seen on there website, on recharge of Rs54 we get 175 local call but none were reflected in my account.
          Infact, when I tried reaching the customer care for this issue, they barred my call and since then I cant reach the customer care personals.
          I tried calling them with an another number, they barred that as well. May be the maintain a call block list.
          And one more issue, I have been charged for data usage even though I have a data plan active on my number.
          I have proof for both these cases:
          1. I have a scene shot of there website for the earlier case.
          2. I have a msg in my phone for the later case.

          I would request to raise a complaint for the same, so that they responed to customers in a much matured way an don't neglect them.
          This amount hardly bothers me, but still I want to teach them a lesson so that they'll be much responsible hence forth.

            I have a Airtel Number 98055**575 since last two month. Recently i got a offer on my number by dialling *121# that i will get Rs 35 on Recharge of Rs 35. When i recharged my number they provide me app.29 Rs only when i consult withe customer care they told me that "your IVR was not updated so we cant provide you thee benefit, and if you like you may go consumer court or port out your number" and they block my facility to contact customer care.After theat i recharge my number withe 25 Rs for Internet. on 25th of December when i was browsing Internet they deduct 15 Rs from my main balance even still 5.37 MB data was left in my account.When i register thee complained theey give me thee revert that there was no wrong deduction every deduction is fair.I don't know what is thee wrong withe this well reputed organisation.

            AirTel Bharti — Unfare deduction

            Dear sir/madam,
            I am getting sms from 64611015 from last 4 months as.
            Thanks for using (Fusion, Lounge multicontent pack) on airtel wap. You have been charged Rs 15. I have never activated this kind of service on my no. [protected]. Please deactivate this service as soon as possible and return my money.

              Hello,

              I had asked for a International Plan to call to Sweeden from customer care executive. He told me that there is a recharge plan for Rs 97 in which u will get 30 international minutes. I recharged with Rs 97 but still the balance is call balance is deducted from my account.
              I called up several times to customer care. They are not doing anything instead they put my call on hold and then they disconnect the call.
              I called again and the there is a person named "Chirag" he was shouting at me and not talking properly. He blamed me for everything and told me that you should know everything as you are old customer. And you can call to sweeden with these minutes. He pretended to take my complaint but he didnt.

              I am still not able to use this plan and my account balance is deducted due to the misguidance.

                sir due to my mistake i recharge another number as per airtel custmer care advece i send sms like this WRC [protected] [protected] 50 [protected] send to cc no 52212, air tel ref no [protected] need your help, no reply from air tel need help
                Wrong recharge was done on [protected] ( as the number was told to be of Bihar state) phone number where as the actual number is [protected] for an amount of Rs 555 on 20th Dec,09. Subsequently, when a relationship manager was contacted. I was asked to go the shop from where recharging was done and was asked to get an SMS done as given below.
                WRC [protected] (wrong number[protected]transaction id number) 555 (amount) [protected] ( correct number ) Send SMS to 52212.
                This was taken care of by me as was suggested by the relationship manager and the reply from the service provider has been received on with an id 404187. I was also told that,within 24-48 hrs recharging will be done. On 25th I tried to contact from my another cell several times and now I receive an automatic reply that, I am not authorised to send SMS though, they suggested to send SMS to know the status.Today, is 26th the recharge was not done for the amount.Could there be any number where we can talk directly instead of running from pillar to post?

                wrong recharge is done of a net pack. Can i recover it?
                By mistake the shop keeper activated 2gb 2G data, I wanted a full talk time recharge for Rs 200/- so I last my money. Then I called cus care for help they said nothing can be done, I told them 2G is active on my phone and it's imposible to make use of excess 2gb 2G data but they said they can't do anything...!
                I Feel when company get's to know that customer can't make use of our service for the money he has paid...there should be some arrangement, so that the customer gets back his hard earned money...

                But looks like the hole system is happy that they are getting money for nothing they do (I don't know how many corers by these kind of mistakes people do)

                          Hello Sir,

                          I have taken a mobile number [protected], From Airtel last year. It was a post paid number. I paid 6 months advance rental RS 499 + Taxes at the time of number purchase. I have been also paying the bill regularly for the talk time used. After 6 months when i requested Airtel to convert this number to Prepaid number, at that time they asked for rental of another 6 months for the future. They denied to convert this number to prepaid in case I don't pay this another 6 months advance rental.

                          I have been following up with them and lodged multiple requests for this correction, but there has been no action taken on my complains. Airtel customer care even denies to accept requests for connection conversion. Which is very cumbersome and unfair.

                          My queries are as follows -

                          1. Why should one pay rental for a connection when the connection will be prepaid and may not be used at all?
                          2. As per my best knowledge, the rule for number postpaid to prepaid conversion is the usage of the number for 3 months. If this is correct, Can a telecom provider deny to customers or keep unreasonable demand for following a process set by the government body?
                          3. Can a telecom provider charges customers for 6 months in a row at one shot with taking customer's consent?

                          Kindly assist me resolve the issue. I will be highly thankful to you for all the help.

                          Airtel — MULTIPLE BILLING FOR SINGLE SERVICE

                          I had taken the the IPTV connection by paying Rs.1750/- cash. After filling the form & paying full installation charges i had to cal on many numbers repeatedly for at-least a month to beg for the IPTV connection. Now in my bill for the month of April the same amount Rs. 1750, has been charged again for the installation of IPTV.
                          I made a complaint but the response is not satisfactory & i am receiving call for the payment without any correction of bill again & again..

                          And now finally i am expecting these people to disconnect my services very soon for non payment.

                          We had only one discussion that was around 5th Feb 2013. We have had no conversation on 29th Jan 2013. Further to this complaint, as of today 20th Feb 2013, there is no resolution done on this.

                          Can you please give details of how much time you need to resolve a simple complain like this which require no software or hardware changes?

                          This is highly unprofessional of Airtel.

                          After reading this comment, I called airtel to see what isthe resolution done. As i was not informed of any resolution. To make my belief on Airtel's unprofessional behavior more strong, they responded saying the resolution is that all the charges are fine.

                          I am unable to understand how can airtel charge advance rent for 6 months without authorization, when the number is not in use. I don't intend to keep such a number. I don't agree to this resolution. Airtel says, they are not going to do anything for this.

                          The reason of me adding the summary of the conversation is to make other people aware of what Airtel is doing.

                          there needs to be some strict law or formal regulatory body reviewing these telecom companies.

                            I am a Platinum customer of AIRTEL services. Still after a lot many complaints they have hardly bothered to improve services of 3g. I am using galaxy note 2, the network shows full signal of H+ but the speed is pathetic. Not able to use applications properly. Airtel had changed my sim card as well but still is not working. I have another number of Vodafone and I get a speed of 1 mbps of download and 800kbps o[censored]pload speed when I use that sim on note2.

                              I am facing issues with internet speed on my phone since 9th January 2013 and I had a word with almost everyone in airtel. Customer care people don't even know how to talk to the customers. They don't even know that I have been using intenet from last 3 yrs, they don't have records for the same.

                              I have registered a complaint with highest level of airtel (applette) on 17th jan 2013 on which I was about to get the resolution by 25th Jan 2013... I never received a call or an email from airtel by 25th. Therefore I contacted them today on the phone and Anita or Amisha from airtel said that she will contact the concerned department and would call me back in half an hour but I never received a call back again.As a customer I am not supposed to get this kind of service. A lot of time they have done this to me (giving me run arounds).My internet is running very very slow on my phone due to which I am losing a lot business.Airtel only says these fancy lines on the email to attract the customer but this is all rip off.I would like you to please intervene and help me fix this with airtel...Please let me know whatelse I can do.

                                  I've given a request to Airtel Shop (Porur Branch) to change my prepaid mobile plan to post paid, they said that within 7 working days it will be activated but it is been more than 2 months and I'm finding no improvement, in fact it is worster than before, that is from past 5 days if any body call to my number it says 'the number you've dialled is switched off'.

                                  I been calling to Airtel customer care but its just waste of time and money, they are picking call but not talking but the currency is getting deducted.

                                  I can say that It's height of worst customer service I've ever experienced.

                                  I've ever experienced such a WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I think this is the only service provider who will DISCONNECT THE NETWORK itself without any intimation. I called airtel post paid this morning and spoke with agents Prema, Vimal, Sathish, Shiva and Sudhakar. All of these except Sathish, placed me on hold forever and never came on the line back, two agents disconnected the line. I hope these agents know that i cant call from my mobile, i called from booth and everytime i have pay atleast 50 rupees for each call i make, becoz to reach a Cust service agent itself it takes a long time, i have to choose all the IVR options and reach them. They just repeat the same dialogue" Sorry for the inconveneince and frustration", but they really dont feel sorry.They always promise they would call me back in 2 hours, but they never call me. Last night they unbarred my network and im not able to make outgoing or incomming, this was done without any intimatation, if they say that they follow process, they need to call me and let me know that they are going to disconnect the line. USUALLY IF WE DONT PAY BILLS, THEY WOULD FIRST BLOCK OUTGOING, BUT ONLY IN AIRTEL THEY BAR THE NETWORK ITSELF, WHICH IS SO FRUSTRATING. Because of this i missed my company vehicle since they are not able to call me.I went atleast 2 hrs late to office which brought me lot of problems, i was not even able to call my manager to intimate the problem. This after calling your agents atleat 5 times one gentleman called Sathish told that he will activate my connection in 2 hours and he will also arrange a callback but he never did as usual. When the agents believe that they have attended our calls well and if they think that we are happy with the service, only then they would send a Sms to send our feed back, but i dont think they document all the calls we make. I prompted for a service request number and got it from the agent today, [protected] and[protected]. Im going to Drop this connection and switch to a different one. This is to let you know that the only reason im dropping your connection is,
                                  1. The worst customer service they provided
                                  2. The flase promises which they made
                                  3. Placing the customers on hold forever or disconnecting the line
                                  4. Assuring that they will call back which they never do.
                                  5. Not sending proper Bills.

                                  I will surely let my collegues and friends know about the service you provided.
                                  If your mental ability is the same level as your terrible spelling and grammar perhaps you misunderstood them?

                                  Dear Sir/s,

                                  This is to bring to you notice that i have been facing problems with Airtel & it has been more than a month now. I have signed up Airtel postpaid service (delhi) i have taken 2 connections with them however they have stopped my primary account under the number [protected] in my name Siddharth Lohat. They have given me the reason that because my address was not verified correctly they have stopped my number. I was not even notified before cutting my number off. On top of that I work for HCL Tech. LTD Noida & i live in west delhi. Because of their silly mistake they have commited i lost Rs 675 because i didnt get picked up when my cab came to pick me. I had to hire a radio taxi to avoid unscheduled leave to save my wages. on top of that i have registered with them with another number which has not been activated yet. I was told that they will get in touch with me by 07/10/09 which didnt happen apparently. I am annoyed with the customer services as well. moreover i was told that they will go ahead & reverse the charges on the bill as well. however again i didnt hear anything from them now iam without the phone for nearly a month now & they are still not giving me any resolutions i have been promised on sevral occasions that they will gimme the resolution ASAP however they were not able to do it which seems unproffesional to me.

                                      i am holding the airtel numbers [protected] and [protected]. pl disconnect the mentioned numbers on immidiate basis... i want to pay the bill but your staff at city center kolkata is not at all helping to me. pl suggest alternate option to pay the amount...

                                      I activate a Airtel No [protected] in the month of November 2009 I top up it for life time and low tariff rates as per my requirement but in the month of December 2009 the company disconnect / delete my cell number without given any information . Please clarify me what was the region although all the papers related to my Identity proof , Driving license and Photographs ware submitted 3 to 4 times , in this connection I contect to service provider but they dont help me to continue my cell no .Please continued my number otherwise I have to go for Consumers Forum .

                                      Airtel Prepaid — disconnect of number

                                      Respected sir,
                                      I have already complain about this matter that my number [protected] is disconnected due to some reason and the fault is from ur department and know they have provided me the new number which is [protected] but not give me the balance which was on my previous number they have only given me RS 50 but on my previous number the balance was more than RS 150 you can also check from your system .
                                      I also got the call from your department last week and i told them all the thing to that person and he told me to loadge a complain and you will get the your balance.
                                      So plz kindly help me in this matter and i will be very thankful to you.

                                      Airtel co. disconnect my no. without any intimation after verification call customer care executive told me my no. will me ok after 4-5 hrs...
                                      whn again i called up after 6 hrs... again he told me the same that itr will take another 4-5 hrs.... whn i told that tele caller to tranfer my cal to authorised/senior person he is not ready to do that & misbehaved...... his name is Mr Raghav wat he told me that he is TL thr.............

                                      AirTel — Prepaid number disconnection

                                      Hi ,

                                      To whomsoever it may concern

                                      This is to let know that your company AIRTEL has disappointed me yet
                                      again regarding the my Documents not reached to the concerned department, as
                                      being a customer I have been suffering a lot, as my services were disconnected
                                      without any intimation ,I called a number it went thru to customer service and
                                      I was informed that I need to go to nearest customer correspondence office ,I
                                      went to Behra enclave office they said they dont have any information and need
                                      to submit the documents again .I believe this botheration is like a Harassment
                                      to me and I am disturbed again and again in my busy schedule .I would be please
                                      to inform you that after clearing this I would switch my services of this
                                      number to vodafone and other 2 numbers [protected],[protected] would be followed
                                      soon .


                                      As per the customer service deptt my documents have not been submitted ,So can
                                      I please know that why I was sent this email mentined above, that the documnets
                                      have been reached to the concerned authortiy .I believe airtel has made a
                                      regular practice of bothering people .


                                      My next step would be to file this in consumer court ,If I will not be getting
                                      the apology

                                      Was informed that will get the revert back in 48hrs that has not happened

                                        ON 25th Dec 2012, I requested broadband service in online site : http://www.airtel.in/wps/wcm/connect/airtel.in/airtel.in/home/foryou/broadband+a... On the very same day i got call from airtel sales team, and on the next day a sales person visited my home and got all my address proof and also got 1200 as initial payment for the service... His name was Riyaz : [protected]

                                        Till the date i did not get my connection and also not got the money refunded.. whenever i call customer care they say that the money will be refunded in 21...

                                        But today they saying that money will be refunded on 13 of Feb 2013 only . and sales person did not cared to attend my call once the time after he got the money and left me.

                                        Worst service from Airtel which was never expected.

                                        I am Facing the same problem as deepak4ursmile.. We have asked for a connection in thoraipakkam from the same santhome sales branch. The customer service is very hostile and they have been delaying the connection since a long time. The number i call is [protected] We dont get a clear information on what the status is. These guys never called once they received the money.
