I am Elamaran and I have availed an Airtel 3G Datacard, number [protected], before 4 months. I have opted for the new Rs.950 plan, where they said I will receive speeds upto 7.2Mbps till 5GB and after that, god knows what. First month, everything is fine and second month, the 5GB data usage got over and I called the toll free number[protected], and requested to top up 1GB Smartbytes pack that costs Rs.300. The executive who spoke to me said that I will receive confirmation message within 4 hours and the pack will take a maximum of 48 hours to be activated. But, my need for the extra usage passed out next day, and the pack was never activated, nor did I received any message regarding. And after 15 days I needed high speed Internet and all of a sudden they blocked my account, I called them again. When I asked the what-abouts of the previous request, I got shocked by the answer. He said that I have used up that 1GB SmartBytes pack and the same has been added to my bill. Since the whole amount crossed the available credit limit, they have blocked my account. I had the previous month's bill pending, which is the month when I raised the 1GB data request, and altogether the bill was Rs.2600/-. After a long argument, he elevated the call to the floor manager, who said I must pay Rs.2300 and he can waive off that Rs.300 only after that. I asked for the Nodal Officer's contact number and email address, to raise the complaint. He gave a mail ID that is "nodalofficer.[protected]@airtel.in". I sent the complaint to that mail ID for about 4 times, but not even a single message was delivered. It came back with a message that airtel.in takes too long to respond. However I had no time to deal with these stupid issues and I carried on my work after paying the bill of Rs.2300. This month, on 29.12.2012, I requested again for a smartbyte for Rs.450 for 2GB, from the list of packs told by the executive. I even received a message promising that my request will be done by 30th December. Bu I haven't received any message nor my Data speed increased. When I called the toll free number again, and asked for the actual email address of the Nodal authority. She ased me to wait on the line and disconnected the call. Again I called, and the executive who spoke was so rude in her tone and said that the pack was not Rs.450 but Rs.475, and she cannot give me the name of the executive who spoke to me earlier and when I asked for the Nodal Officer's email address, she gave me the same email address which is not working. When I said that it is not working, she told me to replace "nodalofficer" in that ID with appellate and send it again.
Overall, the executives of airtel are not aware of the exact prices and tariffs, there is no use of service requests, and there is a magical person called Nodal Officer, existing only in words. If anybody knows what can be done with this issue, please guide me. My Email ID is [protected]@ymail.com and elamaran.[protected]@gmail.com.
If the authorities of Airtel ever come across this complaint, I am more than ready to answer their arguments if they have any and also, I have decided not to pay the bill until I get any answers for these issues.
Please be aware of the Airtel network, since whatever the intensity of the issue is, you have to deal it only with the executives who are unaware of what must be done to resolve. And any complaints on them too have to be made with them only. Funny though!
