Hi,

My Airtel Wifi is not working propoerly. I have taken the services one week before. I live in a storey house and want wifi to work on every floor. Your executive have fixed two modems i.e. one on top floor and one on the ground. The major problem I am facing is that they both are not working together,. I am unable to connect on all the floors at a single time. I want to have one single mdem but the range should cover my whole building.

Plz solve the problem asap as we trust your gud name and expect that it will be sorted out in a day or two.

    Sir I am a airtel prepaid customer, My Mobile No. is [protected]. I have facing lots of problem in your network I have not subscribed but Repeatly forty rupees deducted monthly for airtel TV Subscription also inform to your customer care centre many times but dont have any reply regarding my problem So above circumstances i bound to complain before you i hope you may kndly be take necessary steps at an early date to solve my problem otherwise i will disconnect your netowrk

      Last month I got a call from Airtel office about a Airtel Apne Postpaid Scheme. so I told her to send Airtel sales person to my office . Next day Sales person came and I have provided documents and deposit for 2 connection . I have given him 600 Rs. and He told me within 2 hours service will activate but its 2 months now and his contact number is switched off now.

        This is regarding my Airtel Number [protected]

        I asked for complete outstanding at the airtel gallery on 13.10.2011 at 15:00 for closure of my account.

        I was told that the complete outstanding is Rs.1012.00
        I made the payment by card.
        I was told that we have taken in your request for closure and the needfull will be done.
        A service request number was given to me for closure 40074692

        Why can the company not close the account immediately after payment?

        I received a bill from airtel for a period of 11.10.2011 to 10.11.2011 (For a period when the number is closed)
        I am told that I have to pay Rs. 1012 for a bill dated 12.10.2011

        The usage charges in the bill are as follows
        Call charges Rs. 0
        Value added charges Rs. 0
        Roaming Rs. 0
        Bill period charges Rs. 174 (What is a bill period charge? how can company incur costs for a closed account)
        Taxes Rs. 17.4
        previous balance Rs.819 (how can I have previous balance when I have asked for complete amount to pay on the 13.10.2011 at the airtel gallery and made the payment?)

        I am receiving harrasment calls for payment.

        I do not mind paying this amount but there is no garuntee that the account has been closed still.
        I shall make a payment only when I get a letter saying that your account is closed.

        The company is not suffering any losses due to me as the usege for the phone usage is and was always 0. The charges they are claiming are only rentels for a period when they should have shut the phone.
        Even if they want to claim a previous balance, it is only for rentals. This card was bought for data purposes and it never worked. every time it would say please activate the network.
        I had bought the card for business purposes and to use the internet on the go, but the services were horrible and never got data conncetion in any of the Metros as prolaimed in the advertisement by the company. In fact I have suffered losses due to bad service.
        Hence I had decided to close the account.

        Please advise for aproper closure. I do not mind putting a case in the consumer court for fraudulent behavior and cheating.

            Hi,

            I am writing this complaint after chased the airtel customer service for a month, and made about 50 calls to the service person/manager.

            I have initated Number portability request from vodafone to airtel a month back. ( actually there was an attempt to initiate, 2months back.. but that time , I have generated the unique port number , and gave to the airtel sales person(1).. it seems he delayed his part.. so it is expired).
            The sales person (1) gave the new sim and he told the reqeust will be completed in 7 working days. In a week I got a call from a airtel to enquire about my details. He said it will be activated in 2 days. After that i didnt get any calls. Then I called person (1). He said , he will check and let me know in 2 hours. But no response. Then I treid reach him next day. He didnt pick the call. For next one week, I have tried to call him daily.. but he is not answering my call. Then I went to Airtel service center near Alwarpet. The sales person (2) in the office noted down my current number, unique port number details. He said he will get back to me in a day. As usual , I didnt get any response from him. Then I called him. He said he will check and let me know in an hour. Last 4 days i am calling him daily. He is telling the same answer.

              Hello,

              I was using Airtel Broadband with 2 MBPS, i was offered a free modem at first month ( FEB 2011)

              In august '11 the modem got repaired and AIrtel suggested to get it rectified with its service center, but the vendor told he can't as its 5 year old one

              Airtel did not respond properly and i got irritated and disconnected the connection

              Now after 4 months, a collection executive called me and told to pay outstanding bill( which was charged for unused connection ) and i told i will pay later.

              Today she was calling my friends and relatives from my old phone records and spoke like a .. Talking rubbish to my family members ..

              Is this the way to behave? I lost my hope with AIRTEL from this moment

              My decision to go back to AIRTEL is dropped. I will be happy if AIRTEL can take necessary action against the lady.

              Last saturday the collection lady has used my dialed numbers ( from old land line) and spoke harsh to everyone

              My phone numbers are confidentail informations, how can she use those without my knowledge.

              Is AIRTEL making such a worst outsourcing people to collect the dues..

                Dear Sir,

                I wish to place before you the following complaints against Airtel Broadband Services for your consideration and needful corrective action.

                1. A request was raised online for a new airtel broadband connection on the 13th of Dec, 2011. An installation fee of Rs.500/- was paid online for the same. I received a confirmation mail from Airtel with the following details:
                CAF no: ONBANGA00019509
                Transaction id:[protected]
                However, after 10 days airtel has not sent anyone to setup the connection. After calling airtel customer care (interaction ID: 9182484), I was informed that the application does not exist. Futhermore, I was told that I require an opportunity number in order for the application to be considered. All this after paying for the connection.

                2. When asking for a plan migration for an existing connection from ACE 6Gb to ACE 3 Gb, the customer care executive said that this plan does not exist for the Bangalore Circle. I previously was using the ACe 3Gb plan and before migrating had confirmed the same from the customer care executive that it would be possible to migrate back to this plan. Now they informed me that the plan does not exist for Bangalore, even though the airtel.in website clearly states that this plan is available for the Bangalore circle. This is the second time I am facing an issue with airtel concerning migrating from a more expensive plan to a cheaper plan.

                I request you to please resolve these issues as soon as possible.

                  My customer id is : [protected]
                  I bought an HD Set Top Box from airtel in Nov , 2010. I started facing problem in my Set Top Box in July, 2011.Whenever I switched On the TV and STB, It showed 'NO SIGNAL' on my screen (no error code) which used to continue for 30-40 mins and after it started catching signals and was fine.
                  I called Airtel Customer service couple of times, they tried to trouble shoot asking me to reset the STB, take out the airtel card , etc. Finally their technician came in August and told us this was due to defective STB and he was getting similar complaints with the STB not working. Due to the troubleshooting, the resolution of our TV changed and finally after calling for several times, we were told that no complaint was logged earlier and a complaint was logged on 16th october (complaint #[protected]. We were not aware at this point that in the complaint , STB was not mentioned and somehow the resolution of TV (and something crap , thanks to the highly trained people sitting at airtel customer care) was mentioned .After few days, a technician arrived at our place with an ol lookign STB and told us he will replace our STB with that one. We were taken aback as we thought we will be given a new one or the existing one will be repaired. He went back. We called Airtel officer (Delhi branch) with the name Pritam no. [protected]). he told that the policy is replacement of the STB with a repaired one and assured us he will get a newer STB for us. We messaged him our cutomer id and after that he never resopnded on our complaint nor picked our calls. We spoke to the territory manager also who assured to help us but nothing was done.

                  After repeated calls to Airtel customer service and someone in Chandigarh office also, no action was taken on our complaint. In November, a technician from Airtel came to our home to change the satellite orientation (for HD). He tried to reset the STB to no use and told us that we will have to pay 300 rs to get the STB replaced now. After that again we tried calling Airtel authorities (Mr Pritam ) with no response. Finally on Dec 21, I called airtel customer care again who told me their was no complaint logged against my customer id. I could not believe that they have deleted all records regarding the complaint .I called their Chandigarh office numer ( Mr Jayakrishna , [protected]) where it was picked by some cust care representtative. who again denied their was a complaint logged regarding STB. Unfortunately I was not able to find teh complaitn number. he told me he will check teh records and can only help if I can provide teh complaint number. I called again after finding the complain no. , this time it was picked by a different person whoc was not so customer friendly and told me just about policies. When I gave him the complaint number, He told me the compalint was not regarding STB. I was taken aback. I questioned him if the complaitn was not regarding STB, how came the technicians came to my house with another STB. He just denied all this and behaved as if I am telling a lie. He kept on repeating that I am out of warranty now and I will have to pay 750 rs (not 300 which they told me earlier) to get the STB replaced now. I was shocked by his unprofessional behaviour as he was not tying to understand my frustration and blaming me instead for telling a lie. I am surprised noone is taking into account the n no. of calls I made to customer care, delhi office and territory manager.
                  One of my friend had similar problem and even after teh STB replacement she is facing the problem again. So there is no gurantee taht after paying 750 rs also, everythign will be fine.When I told him, I will better discontinue Airtel cable, he asked me to go ahead and was willign to open a request for that. Even after expressing my dissatisfaction with airtel services and telling him that I am using Airtel mobile and broadband services , he did not realise the value of a faithful customer. And did nothing to resolve the problem. Though he opened another complaint(this time he told me it was regarding STB which I really do not trust now) , complaint number is 14747693.
                  I really do not know what to do now. I had great faith in Airtel services (using their mobile service for past 6 years) and professionalism and therefore decided to go for their Digital TV instead of renowned brands likeTata Sky. But now I have lost that faith. Their digital TV department is hopeless. They are selling defective STBs to customers and not listeining to their complaints, the customer care service is hopeless, they do not know how to talk and troubleshoot and even how to log a complaint. I am paying money for cable and not able to see anything since after coming back from office it does not start for hours (the problem has worsened now). If airtel really values its customers, it should take action on this and replace the STB without any cost. Otherwise I will have no option except changing to different service provider.

                  I just need replacement of the defective STB free of cost. Or I want compensation from Airtel for the money I wasted in last 6 months on cable (2100 Rs)charges. And I will move on to a different service provider.
                  I AM USING AIRTEL DIGITAL TV SINCE 2010. WHILE INSTALLING
                  THE REPRESENTATIVE CAME AND REFUSED TO INSTALL THE
                  CABLE IN CONCEALED WALL. AFTER WE HELPED FOR INSTTALLING
                  IN CONCEALED. THEN A NEW PROBLEM ARISED. SET TO BOX SUDDENLY
                  SWITCHING OFF AND AUTOMATICALLY RESTARTING. THAT TOO SOMETIMES
                  WITHIN 10 MINUTES. I SUGGEST ALL WHO ARE GOING TO BUY AIRTEL DISH
                  EVEN HD DISH THINK TWICE. EVEN I USED TATASKY. FEELS BETTER, BETTER
                  FOR ALL SERVICE POINT, INSTALLATION ETC., I AM ALSO THINKING OF
                  SHIFTING TO TATASKY OR OTHER SERVICE PROVIDER.

                    1) Billing is not as per the bill plan
                    2) Not received any discounts as per the bill plan: 600mins free call.
                    3) Actual billing was not reflected on previous connection.

                    I have requested the change of plan from AES 249 to SUPER SAVER 199 CUG corp plan on 2nd May 2011 on to my connection [protected].

                    As per that request I received a mail form Mr. Gopinath Ganesh, Customer Care [protected]@in.airtel.com with attached rate plan of SUPER SAVER 199 CUG and to clear the unbilled amount to process the request.

                    I have cleared the unbilled amount of 1077 Receipt: OC 12152068 on 4th May and again sent a mail to [protected]@in.airtel.com to change the plan with immediate effect and spoke customer care over the phone on the same time and confirmed that they received the payment.

                    Again I spoke to customer care on 6th May to confirm whether plan got changed and they confirmed it.

                    After bill plan change, I received the first bill dated 4th June 2011 amount of 2304. When I verified the bill, billing was not as per the SUPER SAVER 199 CUG corp. Charged flat 50ps for airtel, other mobile and landline and not given 600 mins discount. Immediately I spoke to customer care and explained the issue and then they registered the service request. Day after somebody come to back to me from Airel for saying all call charges are valid, then I demanded to speak to manager, she is connected to Ms Pavithra. Floor Manager. She has identified the issue and manually calculated the bill as per the bill paln. Bill supposed to be Rs.1300. She said can not give Rs.1000 discount and has only Rs. 500 limit. She advised if I want escalate it to Nodel officer to reworking of bill. As per that I spoke to Nodel officer Mr. Vinay and registered the complaint. He promised me that rework will be done until that connection will not be disconnected and make the payment after rework is done.
                    I did not get the response and meantime 2nd july I got one more bill unfortunately that bill also same problem. Again I called to customer care and explained the issue and then they came to know they converted to wrong plan and from 7th July they again changed the bill plan without noticing me. Whenever I spoke they will be telling me that all charges are valid and when I asked why did the bill plane changed twice then only they registered the compliant.

                    From last 5 months I was behind of customer care executive and nodel officer to resolve this issue. (Pavithra, Vinay, Ahmmed Anu and many people).They just promised me and did not resolve it. From day one I told will not make any payment until this is been resolved and all nodel officers agreed for that. This issue is there from last five months and still not resolved.

                    Whenever I registered the complaint they closed complaint without noticing. Like that I have registered around 12-15 complains, this issue is dragged to 5 months and they did not reworked the bill they simply pass Rs500, Rs150 waiver like that and they close it even though I did not asked.

                    Recently Ms, Anu('arc.[protected]@in.airtel.com') from collection team had called me for payment and after all these she said no one from Airtel promised for SUPER SAVER 199 CUG corp plan because that time plan was does not exist and all call charges are valid.
                    She requested to send the all the related documents related bill plan change and she also promised that if I sent those documents, she will give the complete waiver and I sent the details to her mail ID arc.[protected]@in.airtel.com and thereafter no reply.

                    Because of Airel made mistake I suffered, many times my connection disconnected and I have been using this connection since five years.

                    On 16th November again got a call from Mr. Vinay[protected] saying from Legal department of Bharti airtel ltd. Again explained the issue and informed him that will not make any payment and finally came to final settlement of to pay Rs 3000. As per that made the payment of Rs.3000.

                    Still now it is not resolved and keeps getting the call from airtel for payment. I am getting frustrated with these calls. Hence I am registering the Compliant here.

                    Airtel — bill not as per the plan

                    as i have subscribed for broadband connection airtel haryana circle.
                    So all the calls in haryan should be local from the phone provided by the company .
                    But they have chaged me STD rates for all my calls in other districts.

I am regular paying your bills. in the month of march i paid 500 rs at ghansoli but yet it is not updated in u system and my out going calls are stopped by u . not tell me it is consumers problem . activ. my out going calls as soon as possible other wise i will make a comp. in consumer court and local police station.

                    I sent you the mail from personal mail ID.

                    Eventhogh I did not got resolution for my postpaid connection [protected], I paid Rs.3000 as a final settlement as per the discussion with Mr.vinay-[protected]. Legal department-Airtel. But Still I did not got the Settlemet letter.

                    Want I want is now is final settlement letter for my connection [protected].

                    I think now its the time for say Goodbye to Airtel.I will not go for any relationship with airtel henceforth and I am going to dicsconnect the current connection also. I am the POC for one of the telecom corporate office and give alomost 1 lakh business every month. I will look for different service provider for the same also.

                      my cell number is [protected] i ported in airtel on 13th dec. after submitting the required documents n now after 1 week they have barred my services at 11pm although i have resubmitted my documents again in the evening itself. when i called the customer care to talk on the issue they first kept me waiting in pretext of transfering my call to senior n then disconnected my call. this happened twice n den my customer care service was also barred. now what should i do?

                        My name is javed ahmad. I am using AIRTEL PREPAID MOBILE NO. For last 2 years. Last month i recharged with Rs.25 and Rs. 30. For balance but they changed my call rates also without any prior information even CCA of Airtel blaming me that they have informed me by sms. But i haven't received any sms regarding call rates changes.
                        I called many times to customer care they are not entertaining me farely. Even 2day they disconnect my call without my satisfaction.

                        Now i am facing many problem due to increase in call rates without any information.
                        Now problem is that I can not change my number and airtel is not solving my problem even they are talking with me very rudely.
                        So please solve out my problem.

                          I was under the 499 unlimited broadband plan that used to give me good speed during 25 out of thirty days of my billing cycle. My monthly bill regularly used to be around Rs 550/- Of late, Airtel started mentioning that I have utilised my full capacity of high speed internet within a day of the billing cycle. I realized that they had actually discontinued the 499 unlimited plan and wanted existing customers to voluntarily get out and change to other plans. Such a ploy was an attempt to frustrate consumers to upgrade.
                          In mid November 2011, I fell for this and upgraded to 899 unlimited 10GB mega plan (at the Saibeen complex outlet, MG road, Mangalore). I was told the change would be effected only during the next billing cycle i.e. from 26th November, 2011 and could not be done mid-cycle. I accepted. I was surprised when I received an SMS on around 28th Nov, 2011, asking me to pay Rs 2324.31. As usual, when the bills are fudged, Airtel does not send a printed bill!!-Only an SMS. I complained to [protected]@airtel.in (complaint no:8733550) regarding non receipt of printed bill. This was promised by e-mail to be sorted out by 6.30PM on 20th Dec, 2011. I received no bill but at around 7 PM on 20th dec, 2011, I received an SMS from Airtel saying that the complaint has been resolved (with no bill yet sent!!) and asked me to reply whether I am satisfied by a YES/NO reply SMS. The "No" reply failed to reach its destination...
                          As regards the error in the billing, my enquiries through the sales representative gave me the information that the Company had inserted a LIMITED 599 plan as an interim between the shift over from 499 unlimited to 899 unlimited. Hence the inflated bill. This was done unilaterally without my instructions. Which consumer in his senses would request for a limited plan between two unlimited plans?? The complaint on the erroneous bill[protected] was to be resolved by 21st Dec, 2011. 6.30PM. This is yet unresolved. There has been no verbal communication from any Airtel representative during this period.
                          It is clear that Airtel is indulging in unfair trade practices. I plan to approach the consumer forum in case they do not accept their mistake and continue to send me the earlier inflated bill as pending from my side.

                          Airtel often lure new customers with promises high speed, better service etc. But beware of the trap you are getting into. The new Airtel broadband scheme has been designed to suck consumers dry by over billing them. My company took a corporate connection from Airtel, a scheme that offered us new handsets, better connectivity at average price of 11,000. For 8 months there was consistency in our billing, it range from 11 to 14K. And then suddenly we are hit by bill of 30K, an over billing of 100%.
                          So we go the regular route try contact the customer service etc but we get no response except one - "There is no Error in the billing". You request for a meeting and get none.

                          But to top it all the Airtel executive abuse. Yes you head me right... THEY ABUSE. While speaking to the sales executive who sold us this connection, our office manager was verbally abused by Mr. Gautam Sachdeva - Sr. Sales executive from Delhi. A series of humiliating statements, He even went to the extent of saying that small companies, who cannot afford Airtel should not take these services.

                          Over billing customers is something Airtel does all the time! So if you are getting an offer that seems to be too good to be true. Beware!

                          Express yourself - Airtel Employee take this very seriously even if they are misbehaving with their customers.

                            sir i have airtel prepaid connection for over a year and half .For 10-12days on my phone no. subscription of monotune service is activated without my will .i regularly contact on airtel customer care line to stop the service on my number .airtel managers assure me that they stop this service and now it will not be activated on my mobile no.but it is of no help and the next day a message that''a monotune service has been activated on my mobile and i have been charged Rupees 3 for it''.i have call customer care no. of airtel for 6-7 times in 10-12 days but they are not taking any action .some entertainment pack is also activated without my choice on my airtel no. sir please take some action against it.

                              Dear Mr.Ajai Puri,

                              I paid for DTH service 26/08/10. Since that i am doing repeated follow up with CC and engineers etc. But still no body came to install it. For this i took many hour off from my office since i paid. Because i am calling yours guy, my staff also now came to know and it is giving them negative impression for Airtel.

                              I am escalating this after trying all the alternatives. I hope a company like Airtel must have some SLA else how come Airtel be rated as best DTH service provided.

                              AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Cheated In Payment

                              Dear Sir,
                              I am a very old customer of Airtel Digital TV. My Name is Mohit Kumar Sharma and my customer ID ia [protected]. Customer of Airtel Digital TV is uneducated and irresponsible. Last night on 11th June, 2011 i called them to upgrade my channels. Before theat i confirm about all channels including HD channels. Company told me in ultra pack you will get all channels including HD Channels Ten Sports HD, Movies Now HD and Discovery HD. But After one hour i realsied company has cheated me. They disconnect my Punjabi Pack and told me it is not covered in Ultra Pack. They Also tell me to see HD channels you have to take extra Packs to subscribe them. Now company is saing they heave done it by mistaken and not ready to refund my cash and to fullfill their promise to start all the channels.

                              I suggest Portability must be started in Satelite Service Providers also.

                                My name is Sandeep, I'm using Airtel prepaid connection for the last 9 months.
                                I regularly recharge my mobile [protected] with RC36 for the purpose of making local and STD sms. my transaction ID is[protected]
                                on dt. 20-12-11 also i had recharged my mobile with RC 36 after confirming from the delaer whether it's stll existing.
                                after recharging my mobile I tried messaging to a friend of mine which is a STD sms, but i was charged istead.
                                Then I immidiately called to the AIRTEL complaint cell to register a complaint against that had happende to me.
                                but the customercare representative told me thast the service for STD sms for RC36 has been removed.
                                But in my Message which I got when I've recharged with RC36 in my mobile was written 1000local+national sms for 30 days.
                                Then I've again called the complaint cell but my mobile was not getting transferred to complaint cell.
                                then I tried from a friend's mobile then i was connected but they've not resonded properly to me and disconnectedf my call 2 times.

                                points to be noted:
                                1. Why they have not informed me with a message before, if they had removed that service as i was using that service earlier.
                                2. Why did I get a recharge message stating that 1000 local+national SMS free for 30 days.
                                3. Why they have not making my connection to complaint cell after giving a first complaint

                                Prepaid — extra charging for std calls

                                Hi,
                                I am Pawan kumar Sahu,([protected]) and have been acustomer of vodafone since past 5 yrs.Recently i m facing problem from ur side, any time i call astd no. and disconnect at 55 or 56 seconds, i am charged twice the amount on [protected] (this mobile no.) .on17.01.2008 @8:01 a.m.I called vodafone care also but was not entertained satisfactorily.

                                please do the needful to solve my problem.

                                My am using airtel prepaid. Yesterday i did an e-top of Rs 25 but got Rs 0.98 as balance and after that i am being charged Rs 2.50 for my STD calls (though i have activated a tariff of RS 49 for STD calls in which i was to be charged Rs 1 per min.).
                                Kindly help as customer care is not responding and i have sent a lot of messages on 121 with no response.
                                The number belongs to Jharkhand (Ranchi) and the airtel is providing some really bad services.

                                Airtel Prepaid — poor servics

                                i have a prepaid connection from about last two years.This was specially for internet, it never worked properly(not even 10kbs).From Dec2006 to Feb2007 its services were completely stopped but i was getting bills and was paying them.From last six months services are again stopped(it comes off an on), to any complaint local service provider says to remove the connection.I am also not getting bills, i think now they will send a large amount.What i should ido now?

                                1. I can't receive incoming calls. It says that my number is busy or not reachable.
                                2. I can't make outgoing calls. It remains calm and hangs out after some beep sound.

                                Airtel Prepaid — bad airtel service

                                i am a mumbai circle customer since last 3yrs.
                                [protected] i used to appreciate your service. but now days i feel bad for myself to trusting airtel.

                                1) Initially i was in government plan.But Due to some AIRTEL technical problem my plan has changed from government plan to some other different plan where my call rates have gone very high.
                                i called customer care i got hundreds of answers.
                                galleries says my plan is government, customer care says its lifetime plan.

                                  This is in reference to my Mobile No. [protected], I would like to bring to your notice that I had taken a scheme of Rs. 65/- Recharge by which
                                  charges are - airtel to airtel: 30 paise per min. and airtel to other mobile 50 paise per minute. But from last 4/5 days airtel is cutting 60 paise per minute for airtel to other mobile calling charges without any reason. I have not changed the scheme. If charges are increased then airtel has to inform me before cutting extra charges. But there is no any prior information to me.
                                  So I request kindly contiune my scheme as per previous rate i.e 50 paise per minute for other mobile calling charges.

                                    Beware of Airtel Broadband- billing me for 6 months, without providing service

                                    Dear Sir,

                                    I have made numerous calls to the Airtel customer care (called more than 30 times, have more than 11 customer complaint numbers) over the last 7 months. But Airtel has not bothered to take any action. Every time the expected resolution date, they just mark the complaint as resolved (even if no action has been taken). Their computer systems are even more pathetic, they keep having upgrades done every 3


                                    I applied for a new Airtel broadband connection in the first week of June
                                    2011. The person at the call center advised that he'll be sending his
                                    personnel to verify if the connection is feasible. After determining that
                                    it is feasible, one of the person came and collected the initial one month
                                    rental of Rs 999/- after giving me a filled up application copy. He said
                                    that on paying the initial one month rent, there will not be any additional
                                    installation charges. He told that the engineer will come and give the
                                    connection.

                                    One week went by and I didn't hear anything. Whenever I called up Airtel
                                    Customer care, I was assured that that my case was pending and someone will
                                    be coming soon to look at it, to install the broadband !! Then suddenly,
                                    while enquiring about the status of my connection, the person at the call
                                    center told me that the engineer had come and he had seen that the capacity
                                    in your area has exceeded and hence he returned without giving any
                                    connection. This was probably the second point when Airtel decided to
                                    misuse the money collected from me of Rs 999/-.

                                    After this day, I have made 30+ calls in 6months, to the customer care, have asked to make escalations (to a Ms. Jasmine), also recently escalated to her boss (Mr. Shiva), spoken to numerous people, been given so many complaint numbers. The last few complaint numbers are-
                                    1509908 - raised 3rd August - supposed to be resolved by 13th Aug
                                    2682184 - raised on 21st Aug (supposed to be resolved by 29th Aug) - was escalated to Ms. Jasmine in customer support - but no avail
                                    5895866 - raised on 18th Oct, supposed to be resolved by 27th Oct
                                    8135792 - raised on 17th Nov, started receiving calls - saying that Landline is not working on 1st Dec- even though my complaint was about not getting my refund, and instead i m being billed even though connection has never been provided !!
                                    Also, raised to nodal officer on 17th Nov - complaint reference number - 7416310; but still remains unresolved.
                                    8209564 - raised on 2nd Dec, supposed to be resolved by 10 Dec - was escalated even to Ms. Jasmine and her supervisor Mr. Shiva- but no resolution. Automatically, on 10 Dec, I got the same frustrating SMS - that your complaint has been resolved.. are you satisfied with the response.


                                    Each time, I am tired of hearing - "Yes maam, it will surely be resolved
                                    within 10 days.." "You will definitely be getting a check this time"..
                                    "Last time, they had not updated the record correctly, this time I have
                                    updated it, so this time aa soon as possible, you will be receiving your
                                    refund."..." There were 3 applications showing up in your name in the
                                    system, I have corrected it, so you will definitely be receiving the refund
                                    this time, I am Jasmine speaking..and I am at the next level"....

                                    All these words have totally frustrated... And to add to my frustration -
                                    for the last 4 months, I have also been getting bills worth Rs 3000/- The
                                    first month, my bill showed Rs999/- and now I am also getting SMS advising
                                    me that my bill has not yet been paid.

                                    Please advise, whether my first step should be to raise a police complaint, or whether i can directly proceed to consumer court ?

                                        My mobile connection number is [protected]. It was in company's name till October 2011 and I got it transferred to my personal name. I had provided all the documents to airtel. They called me at 3.00 PM for address verification when I was at office. I informed them to come after 5.45 PM as I would be at home at that time. Airtel has gone ahead and barred my outgoing calls becos of lack of address verification.

                                        I lodged a complaint on help desk (No:[protected] on December 14 and they mentioned that it would be resolved by December 20. They also took the instruction that the concerned person should visit after 5.45 PM. Till now no one has come and my outbound calls continue to be barred. Today the help desk mentions that one of their person came home on December 16 at 2PM. He had no answer when I mentioned the instruction is to visit at 5.45 PM

                                        Its very disappointing to keep calling help desk and they keep giving different versions. I hope someone looks into this issue of horrendous service by airtel.
