Dear Sir,

This is to draw your attention to the level of services Airtel is providing these days to my prepaid connection ([protected]).Similar serious irregularities in services are reported by several customers residing at IIT Kanpur campus for more than a year.

I lodged my complain to customer care & nodal officer at Lucknow (Ref. No.:[protected] several times in last 15 days for my pre-paid mobile connection-number [protected])about the problem of "No NETWORK COVERAGE/SIM REGISTRATION FAILED".

Airtel customer care replied back to me once (beyond the schedule period) saying...."We would like to inform you that we have checked our system and found that your number is active as per our records. Hence we request you to check your SIM in the nearest
Airtel Relationship Centre and also, be informed that you can avail a
duplicate SIM at the cost Rs. 25/- to initiate further action."

Following their suggestion I visited the nearest Airtel relationship
office at Lajpat Nagar (Kanpur).The office replied me that my number is no more active and even the SIM replacement will not work as the number (corresponding record) may be under deletion.

I am using this number form 2005 and now all on a sudden the services are in danger of termination. I have recently recharged my number as well. It seems I am going to loose all the money as well and face unprecedented inconvenience as neither me nor other can contact each other with this number.

I am very much disturbed to find the sudden interruption in Airtel services. And even more the way they are treating the case. Similar problems are also reported by few of my colleagues in last one year repeatedly and they even had to complain to this forum.

I request an urgent help to this problem.

The matter in the complaint is unfortunate and the reply diplomatic. Airtel is really going great guns in excelling for bad service. Since the customer in concern did not intend to leave / loose / surrender his SIM card and his number is deleted from the database, it seems that Airtel is selling information / numbers to outfits which address our nation's security.

This problem should either be addressed immediately, and the customer should be suitably compensated or Airtel should pull off its services from India.
There must be an inquiry regarding this matter.

How can a number deleted from database when that is in use.
Are they selling the number to others...
Are they miss using that number...

Yes, I agree. In fact a CBI inquiry must take place. These people might be doing some dhandha with the information.
These stupid Airtel people have not yet rectified the problem. Susham you must now take these people to the court for lazy and unethical practices.

      recently i buy a new airtel connection. After activating this connection working properly for 3 days. after it is disconnected with a reason of bachelore accomdation .That's the reason again iam submitted my sbi passbook xerox and ecs check after that it will activated and properly working 4 days

      after that same problem is repeated adress proff is invalid and no is completley disconected. I called so many times to 121, and they have provided one number [protected]. I have been trying to reach this number for the last 4 days, but it is giving message 'It's not a valid number'.

      please considered that most urgently. I lost more because of the disconnnection.

      recently i buy a new airtel connection. After activating this connection working properly for 10 days. Past 3 days it is disconnected without any reason. My Id proof is also clearly.

      please considered that most urgently.

      Any update on this?? At least have some courtesy to reply back. I just don’t understand what is delaying
      you to answer my queries? When I call 121 they say they can’t do anything to it. I am feed up calling Mr. Swami([protected]) and Mr. Vinay ([protected]). Please don’t expect me to submit the documents again, I had already submitted it once and I don’t don’t see any invalid information in it. If this is the kind of service I am going to get from Airtel, I will have to take some serious action against Airtel.

      My self Prashant Shinde. I am with airtel from more than one year.

      I am holder of 4 postpaid numbers

      1) Primary [protected] & its Add-on No [protected]
      2) Primary [protected] & its Add-on No [protected]


      Right now I cancel all these four numbers because of wrong bills, unsatisfactory service by airtel & purchase another four new airtel postpaid numbers. They are as follows.

      But still I am facing problems from airtel.

      Problems as follows,

      1) A) I cancel Primary [protected] & it’s Add-on No [protected] on 20th Dec 2007 (from Kondhwa Outlet By Miss Aparna Madam and also by writing mail to airtel from airtel.in account). Now I came to know that still my add-on card no [protected] is active and they charge me one month rental ( Rs 100+ 12 as tax). (Bill no[protected]. I have a cancellation note with me to show you as proof.

      B) [protected] No: In this I deactivate GPRS service 3 months before cancellation. Then also each month I receive bill with GPRS rental. Each month I call to customer care to cancel these GPRS charges. In my 24 Dec 2007 bill (bill no[protected] I receive extra 81.43 Rs bill for GPRS. I compliant in kondhwa outlet & customer care And came to suggestion that I have to pay only 400 Rs as around 85 Rs for GPRS is added by mistake in bill. So I make payment 400 RS. Now in recent bill (bill no[protected] that 85 Rs charges again added. So total 112 RS of add-on card and 85 Rs of wrong GPRS charges equal to 198 Rs added in the bill no[protected].
      This 198 Rs bill payment is done by my credit card on 2nd Feb. 2007. Please refund me that amount

      2) A) I cancel Primary [protected] & its Add-on No [protected] on 28th Dec 2007 (from Kondhwa Outlet By Miss Aparna Madam and also by writing mail to airtel from airtel.in account). Now I came to know that still both numbers are active. Reason from your side is I yet not clear the bill amount. I you check my bill (bill no[protected] dated 27 Jan 2008) in this my previous balance is 800.75 Rs but I pay 1006 Rs. That is extra Rs to clear my account balance. Your outlet person says that bill will generate after the bill cycle over then pay the remaining amount. So I wait for the same. I customer care say that this connection is still active any you receive full month bill because your connection is still active and for this reason is I did not pay remaining bill. Hence I aks you to revise my bill I will pay the call charges and the rental till 4th Jan 2008 ( 7 days after cancellation) the rental for remaining days will not paid by me, as connection is still active is your mistake.

      3) Now Come to my new 4 postpaid connections mention above

      These all connections on my name having same address for communication and application for these is given on same day. Then also you’re executive activate my first 3 numbers and he reject last no ([protected]). As per him address verification is not done. I call customer care twice for that. Now for the same no I paid Rs 500 as deposit. From which 93 Rs is deducted from you as monthly rental though no is not activated. And now remaining amount (Rs 407 ) still with you. Yet I did not receive that amount.

      4) For the numbers [protected], [protected], [protected] I choose fortune 199 plan & for [protected] I choose fortune299 plan. But after activating I came to know that Airtel activate Fortune 199 plan to all the above numbers. Then also I accept that. On 2nd Jan 2008 I came to know that without my permission airtel change [protected] number plan in to a 299 Privilege plan. (Not Fortune 299 Plan) When I complaint in VEGA center then my plan is again converted in fortune 199 plan. But the bill in Jan 2008 shows that for 13 days I use 299 privilege plan & other day 199 fortune plan. (Though I got 87 Rs discount in that month, if you calculate all the call par 199 fortune plan then total monthly charges is surly less that present applied charges)

        I have applied in 121 to stop the promo calls and SMS in Mid November, 2009 and they have replied that it will take 45 days for process. Till date i am gettiing promo calls and SMS at even mid nigjht also. Day before yesterday i have recd, a call but due to urgent missing i have not attended the call and after meeting when i have replied a recorded message was there and when i have disconnected they have set one ring tone and deducted 25 rs. from my account.           my digital tv adaptor not woking properly i was complaining last 15 days for exchange my adaptor, but ther is no response against my compalint and i was visiting in her office atlest 3 times but they avoiding daily .
          dealer employes talking rudly and mis behaviour on phone . when i was asking from him owers contect no. they told me that i dont hav ower no. and told me that dont call me again agian.

            dear sir,

            i residing in rohtak, and was using airtel postpaid sim, i went to airtel relationship center to migrate my sim into prepaid. they took 3 days in this process. after 2 day working, my service has been disconnected. without any reminder. i go to relationship center. they told your papers are not ok.but i submitted my all related documents in time. they are not giving me the right reason. my no. is not working from last 10days(aproxx.). please take action to thsi relationship center .

            airtel near axis bank branch sucks, they don't even tell all the information regarding the services...
            I have Airtel connection in my led TV from last 15 days it shows no signal I complained at Airtel office Rohtak they sent there technical help and charged Rs 150 after a few days the same problem arises again they sent a mechanic and again charged Rs. 150 now the same problem arose after 2 days The incharge at Rohtak office ignored me . Plz don't compel me to change Airtel connection .

              Madam,
              I had never activated the Friends and family service in the number.I got barrage of SMSes and voice messages from you on this.Even if you see earlier offer of the day you were offerring me and suggesting me told him categorically to that it is the best offer for me.... But I had never taken up the offer....Last year or at the time it was introduced one and half year back somebody from your desk tried to convince me on that...I told him categorically not to activate this facility and you can see all my call history for two years to get the evidence.But to my surprise theis is going on for some time and perhaps for more than one year...I don't know correctly.By my estimate i have lost Rs.0.50p perday for nearly oneyear I had called the one number you have mentioned for 3 or 4 occassions in one year. but if you see the amounts depleted form my account must be more than Rs200 by this method .Hence I demand recredit of all the amount so wrongly deducted....I had an approximate calculation of the amount as Rs120/-.Hence I demanded refund of this amount...If you don't refund I will have assume that you do shady things and activate services without my confirmation or asking for it.If you see the refunds of deductions of Rs30/- and Rs 40/- recently will amply prove the untrustworthy nature of deductions....I am not asking for charity.I want the refund because of wrongful nature of your activity which is illegal and is not customer service.

              I have this pre paid number.I recharged Rs 140 -in the month of November2009..Afterwards I have used the phone 5 to 6 times and each time I was monitoring the calls and the cost.I observed the following deductions in my prepaid recharged amount..

              .50 perday although I had already deactivated any preferred number in 2009 January itself Also without my asking for any spl scheme 4 times Rs 40 has been deducted from my account. or Rs.as a charge for the preferred number which had been cancelled by me in Jan 2009.
              Your interactive service has a subterfuge.It is activating instead of deactivating the numbers or services.Also you have not provided the option of cancelling any number or service in the interactive menu.Is it by design or wanton knowledge to charge the prepaid customers by design
              Pl refund the entire deductions of Rs120 -taken away from my prepaid recharge over a period of one month.Although twice you have reinstated Rs30 and Rs 40 accepting your mistake Now I find that this is going on for one year ie Deduction .50p per day without my asking for any spl number etc.Please refund all these amounts immediately on seeing this notice with interest.

                Dear Customer Care,

                I have purchased a AIRTEL sim card bearing number [protected] before 4 days. I had submitted all the paper to retailer immediately. It was purchased for internet use purposes. For getting information about the scheme, I had talked customer cares executive on 121 immediately after the purchase within 3 to .30 hours. Due to some technical problem, I was compelled to talk many times to customer care executives. I had talked five customer care executives and senior officer too. I was shocked to get the contradictory information. Their information was contradictory to each other.

                In result, after passing of four days, my sim card has not been activated with malafied intention. Consequently, I am unable to talk and use internet services. I have incurred a sum of Rs. 267 (activation charge Rs. 25, validity period Rs. 24, Talk time Rs. 120 and Internet Rs. 98) . I also remember, I had warned them if they are cheating me. In this case, I had demanded my money Rs. 267 back. I could not use used this email. I had wished to protect my rights and interests only.

                I now request you to refund my amount because my service has not been activated.

                Airtel Prepaid — sim card default

                my sim card id rejected and its from delhi can it be repaired in any airtle office all over india i'm presently in kanpur
                i am the customer o[censored]sing prepaid airtel connection, my number is [protected], on 16th april 2008, through IDBI banking service i have recharged, from my bank account amount is detected but same amount is not appear in my airtel mobile account

                Airtel Prepaid SIM — Not getting internet

                I wanted internet on my cellphone. My number is [protected]. I had asked the airtel outlet people and have recharged twice for rs.98 for the internet plan. But i am not getting any internet on my phone. The ,message i am getting is packet data is not active, check internet connections, Kindly do the needful as soon a possible.

                I am a totally frustrated customer of Airtel [Mobile Service Provider Company].
                This is my second time I am lodging complaints against Airtel just after one weeks when I lodged the first complaint against Airtel.
                Instead of rectifying their Unfair Trade practices, Airtel [India] keep on continuing their UNFAIR/CHEATING/FRAUDULENT/HARRASSING trade practices toward its customers.

                I had get recharge of my mobile no [protected] for Rs 98/ for 1GB gprs from the market on 10th nov 11 at 16.03hr vide Id no,[protected] inspite of this rs 98/ has also been deducted from mobile balace on 11/11/2011,when i contact on customer care on 198 with mr Rajan singh and some others persons for refund of my Rs 98/ but no body is ready hear my complaint and ractify.

                  I have received a message on the TV that my plan is being
                  changed w.e.f.28.1.2010

                  This is being done without my consent. How can the service provider change the plan and add and remove channels without my consent.

                  1. The message states that my plan is being shifted to south mega plan with effect from 28.1.2010. Consequently I will receive 37 new channels including HBO and will stop receiving 17 existing channels. They are not providing any details of the channels that will be added and the channels that will be removed inspite of calling their customer care and sending repeated emails to Airtel.

                  Is there a regulator to whom I can report complaints in the deficiency in service by Airtel ?

                  10 days passed my issue was not solved by the technicians, so i asked for disconnection. i think indian customers have no rights for any loss of time. only they sell goods no custormer satisfaction. least bothered after sale. bhadme gaye log.

                    As I learnt from various advertisement on TV, an offer was made to the customer who will purchase NOKIA Model No 5130 XpressMusic and will first insert a new AIRTEL PRE-PAIN SIM Card.

                    Upon inquiring from an AIRTEL Pre-paid Executive, I was informed that there is an offer that a customer who will purchase the above Nokia Handset and first insert a new AIRTEL PRE-PAID SIM Card will be given talktime worth Rs 300/- in six instalments i.e. every month talktime of Rs 50/- will be credited to their account for six months.

                    Though, I have purchased NOKIA 5130 XpressMusic Handset and first inserted a new AIRTEL Pre-paid SIM Card Mob No [protected], it is more than a month but I am yet to get credit of talktime worth Rs 50/- for the 1st month as promised.

                    A such, I request you to look into the matter by finding out the genuineness of the offer and direct AIRTEL to credit of talktime worth Rs 50/- for the 1st month to my account on Mob No [protected] at the earliest.

                      Mobile no. [protected] has been discontinue due to address change however I have submitted proof at Shahadara Airtel Outlets on 16 january.outlet staff said connection will continue by customer care centre(121) while customer care said outlet staff will continue.                       Airtel postpaid connection discontinuation — denial to take the discontinuation service

                      Today i visited pitampura (kohat enclave) Airtel branch to submit one application of discontinuation of my post paid service connection but surprisingly the excutive simply refuse to extend any help and neither took the request and just simply asked me to speak on the hotline number of airtel.

                      if a customer fail to pay a bill of 10/-rs Airtel send legal notice with a threat that the customer will be put into defaulter here when Airtel do this kind of service kindly suggest what action should a customer to do.

                            I bought AIRTEL sim and have been using it. At the time of buying I gave proof
                            identity and photo. Recently I started to face a problem that whenever I call to any number, it is coming as "You have active call barrings." When I asked Customer Care they replied that I have to produce proof. Then I contacted AIRTEL office to give proof again. They didn't take and said that it would be activated.                               I bought IPTV connection on Airtel existing plan 999 PM (Landline + Internet) after paying one time charges INR 3999. When I bought IPTV got assurance from Airtel Sales representative that the entire connect may shifted to another location.

                              When I moved my residence from Noida to Indirapuram, Ghaziabad and raised request for shifting my connection it got shifted only Broadband and Landline but not IPTV connection. I am following up with Airtel and logged many interactions on the same issue.

                              I have shifted my residence on 1st January 2010 and my above tow service got shifted on 16th January 2010. After my chase and at least 50 calls to Airtel now they said that IPTV will be activated by 1sr Feb 2010.

                              During this period I was disturbed as there were many calls from my side and nobody form Airtel is able to give me correct information on shifting the connection.

                              Again I got a call from Airtel asking about outstanding bills for last two months. I have told that you have my 3999 for IPTV instalation (3000/ Security and 999 as instalation charges). I have requested to them to settle my outstanding with security and close the account if they are not willing to shift IPTV connection. She (Aritel) said that your dues can be settle with 50% outstanding and will send you NOC and closeure of account certificate and security will be refunded on later but this will not be mentioned on NOC.

                              I need NOC along with confirmation that Security will be refunded with a time frame. The Airtel represnetative was not ready to listen and thretend to me that they will put my name in defaulters list.

                                I have been deducted 10 Rs every ten days, 4 times for Baba Ramdev health pack, which i have never subscribed. once in 10 days i get the message "your subscription to India Tv baba ramdev health pack will get renewed in 3 days and you will be charded Rs 10. To deactivate dial[protected]". Every time i dial[protected] for deactivating i get the message "Maaf kijiye hame aapki baat samaj nahi aayi". unable to reach cust service.

                                I had put this complaint on this forum and now they have unsubscribed me, but what about the loss of 40 Rs????? THEY DO NOT CREDIT THE MONEY BACK. MAKING MONEY BY CHEATING CUSTOMERS!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM AIRTEL
                                I totally agree! I am facing these very same problems. They charge me 99rs for downloading games when my WAP is not even enabled and then they give u rubbish like our system shows you have downloaded the games. This has happened so many times. Now there is this Baba Ramdev issue. This is day-light robbery by AIRTEL guys. And it is just a plain waster of time even writing to them cause there is nothing that they do about it. The best thing is to stay away from AIRTEL. I have decided not to recharge my account anymore. Its just not worth the effort. BEWARE OF THESE GUYS MAN!

                                  I am an airtel user and i got a call from Airtel Headoffice, Dubai. First a miss call was received. I called back to the no.[protected]. The person told me that he is from Kolkata Head Office and I have won a lottery of 15 lakh. He gave me a no. and told me call Adersh Kumar to get full details about it.
                                  The no. was [protected] and the prson told me that he is from Dubai head office. And asked my account no. I FOOLISHLY gave them my account no. But when they told me to get scratch coupens of Dish tv I felt ther's somethin wrong. Then i searched on the net and found that mobile no.s belonging to Dubai starts from +971...
                                  Then I recalled the person and scolded him and Told him THAT I WOULD GIVE THIS NO. TO POLICE.
                                  Why the hell is no one doing anything about it.
                                  Every one shud give their complaints to the newspaper so that many airtel customers are rescued from this.

                                  Airtel — fraud call from dubai/pakistan

                                  I am also getting fraud call which came to my airtel number. It was from Dubai or may be pakistan and they said they are from Kolkata office of AIRTEL. Their number was [protected], informing about Rs. 10 lakhs lottery. They have also given me one more number to call upon to get full details. The number is[protected].

                                  Got a similar missed call today, March 14, from [protected]. Called back later to know that I had won 25 lakh lottery from Airtel, and was given another number to talk to. By the way, I had heard of this scam so didnt bother much. Asked him if 0092 is country code for Pakistan to which he gave an excuse that this is a computerised number.

                                  When I was in sleep Got a similar missed call on 6th Sept around 8.23 AM, from [protected]. and I called back, I thought that is India number, that person who talks in hindi, i didn't know much hindi knowledge but I understood that only he said that you won 25 lakh lottery from Airtel for your special number, and he given a number ([protected], RamSingh, Senior Supervisor) asked me to call to him, what I understood is he didn't understand English, When I talking in English he cuts the phone.I didn't make any calls to that number, as I understand it's fake calls.
                                  One request for Airtel Service is please disable the International out going service and activate when ever they want to call to international calls by the confirmation from your support team. we simply replied to them not even to see from which country the number is. actually I have seen the number from my mobile is like +9234..., I thought that it's somewhere from India, if out going call is failed I should know that number is other than India.

                                  yes you are right everyone shouldreach the police and news.because there are lots of people who actualy beleive these fake calls and get ripped.i mean why cant govt of india or airtel itself do something about it.why dont they just put a jammer on calls from pakistan to india.our people are being fooled and harrassed by a bunch of pakistanis.the government and the company airtel really do something
                                  i got the fraud call in the morning...its reall frustating...n calls were from same numbers mentioned in above lodged complaints...why airtel isnt doin anything about it???

                                  This is to inform to the airtel office, that same condition was there of mine too...i got a call which told me out that you had got a lottery of amount 25 lakhs...he told me that for using the airtel voucher for many years, for which you are getting a price...the number was[protected]...the first call was from this no...and then the person whom i was talking had given me an another number to contact with the person for more details of the lottery ...the no was[protected]..and he told me the person whom which you are going to contact his name is Rahul verma...which will help you to get the lottery soon and everything in detail wise...as i call him...he told me out to just do a recharge of worth Rs210-Rs 220...i just gone for recharge...and he also told me to just switched off your phone for about 30mins...while talking with him he just give an account no...to just pay Rs10500 for income tax payment...before getting the Rs 25lakh...(the account no which he had given was [protected])he was telling its an SBI account, and the name is pradeep...and he also told me that yours name will be given out in star gold television channel for the lottery winner of airtel...please help me out in this situation as while talking with him ...i had given my passport no too...i am quite worried for that...the afternoon time i had done a recharge which was also not came on my mobile...i will be very gratefull to you ...i[censored] all will take certain in this act please...we are quite comfortable by using the airtel no...so please help me ...in order to come out from this problem...

                                      I have a airtel broadband connection (Punjab Circle) on my name. I have complained atleast ten to fifteen times, for adjustment o[censored]nknown payment they have added to my bill regularly . I even launched a complaint through email, and was to have my response in 24hrs. Its been a month, I have no response to my complaint. Whenever I ask them to disconnect the services, due to inconvenience I have to face, they assure, that they would take care and again in the next bill I get, there is nothing done.

ON 15th MAY, 2010 VIDE REQUEST NO. 32728144, FOLLOWED-UP BY MANY COMPLAINTS, RECENT BEING VIDE NO. 35863862 ON 02/08/2010, ATTENDED BY ONE ‘NEERAJ’ BESIDES YOUR S.M.S.

                                      We, Banbury Cross Educational Academy, Lucknow have been one of your esteemed customers not only as users but also as your business-promoters, being a TEACHING INSTITUTION with a vast clientele.

                                      We are perturbed & disturbed over the fact that for the last six months or so, we have been following-up for the TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF OUR BROAD-BAND CONNECTION from this ‘Academy’ to an individual ‘Kumkum Rawat’ at the same address, same place and same wirings involving ‘No’ fresh installation etc. but, to NO AVAIL.

At last, after tolerance threshold crossed, we deliberately stopped your last payment … ONLY to elicit negative outcome of getting our connection ‘Disconnected’.

                                      You are required to kindly look into all such unethical & unlawful activities continuing with such a reputed Company for immediate remedial measures. Meanwhile, please ensure that our connection is not snapped. (given on 2/3 days lease by courtesy of 121 staff)

                                        I dropped cheque for payment of bill for month Dec 09 in drop box situated at Airtel,Geeta Bhawan Office,Indore but it was misplaced by airtel team. I am paying the bill for last one year by this mode. Never encountered such problem. Only difference for this time was the drop box location. earleirs cheques were dropped at SBI main branch drop box. After repaeted follow up from 11 Jan 10 nothing happened, I then made stop payment of the check and made payment by net banking on 15 Jan 10. After 3-4 days I got a mail from Airtel Bhopal office that they have found the check what to do. I told them the status and asked them to destroy the cheque at their end. I thought matter is closed. But In jan month bill I am charged a late fee of Rs 75/- for no falult of mine. Beside this I already bore stop payment expense for no fault of mine.I lodged this complaint to Airtel and asked to resolve this problem within two days on 27 jan 10 but no thing constructive have happened. 2 days are over. I am getting calls for customer satisfaction survey, which is of no use because after taking so much of followups my problem is not solved.Is this the way to treat a sincere customer? I need settlement for this.

                                        sir, i would like to know that i was using an airtel postpaid connectin which now has been disconnected due to failure of the required payment.
                                        airtel has issued a legal notice against my name and the address in which i was previously residing.
                                        presently, i am not staying in the same place as was mentioned in the form.
                                        i want to know as per the legal notice, do i have to face the consequences individually or the members of the given address will be invoved?
