My name is umesh yadav. I have a savings account in axis bank. I have three concerns regarding the same account with the same bank and those are as follows:
1. Last month, i. E.in june, when i checked, total consolidated charges for my account were around rs 2500, now, in july, suddenly they have become rs 4920 excluding rs 850 as gst. How come this is even possible? Also, there is no way where i can have a complete statement of my account charges. I just have to believe what is showing in the bank statement under the name “consolidated charges” without knowing what i am actually charged for. These are unexplanatory charges i am forced to pay, which the bank deducts from my account without my prior permission. I would like to know if these charges are valid and if not, i would like to get a refund.
2. I had a positive balance in my account until a few days ago but then the bank charged me a huge sum named as consolidated charges amounting to be rs 4920 (Excluding rs 850 gst) on 11th july and turned by account balance negative which means now i owe more money to the bank than before and i don't have any idea why so and for what.
3. Until march, i owed the bank around rs 2500 as my credit card dues, then i asked the bank to block my credit card which they did, but now according to the bank i am supposed to pay them around rs 6300 as the dues, which is about thrice the amount i actually owed them. I get that a slight increase in this amount is ok due to interest charges and other charges but now the difference is too big to be justified. Also, the bank has also freezed rs 6500 approx. As lien and therefore i don't have access to these funds.
I feel like i have been defrauded by this renowned bank. If i had so much money lying around in my house in the first place, i would have already paid the whole amount for the purchase i made without using the credit card. I wouldn't have had a credit card in that case either but the fact is i am not financially sound right now which is the exact opposite of what the bank thinks that’s why they are levying so many unjustifiable charges on my account. The truth is these people firstly call you like crazy and literally beg you to get a credit card from their bank and when you actually agree to that, later they charge you so much that you regret your decision of even dealing with such a bank who doesn't value its customers and look for ways to defraud them by charging huge amount of money with or without their prior permission. This is nothing else but immoral and unethical behaviour. After making innumerous calls to the customer care and visiting different branches of the bank, wasting so much of my time and energy, i was compelled to file an online complaint as nobody could help me resolve my issues.
I, a loyal customer of axis bank for the past so many years, would like the authorities concerned to look into the matter and find a solution to my problem which is justifiable for both o[censored]s and refund the excess charged amount to my account and also cancel my lien.
Axis Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
