Sub: regarding fair settlement against my credit card ([protected]) issue initiated by the bank

My name is prateep majumder and my registered mobile number is xxxxxx5083. I have been using axis bank savings account ([protected]) since ten years, so when axis bank offered me a credit card i accepted it with a lot of trust. The sixteen digits of the credit card is
[protected] and it is a my choice credit card.
In 2017, i was also offered a loan of rs 2, 40, 000. It was not made clear to me that the interest would be approximately rs 1, 50, 000. When i realised it, i called axis bank customer service and their reply was that since i have already been given the loan now nothing can be done.
I accepted it and was paying all my emi s and using the credit card smoothly.
I was using the credit card and making my payments through my axis app. On august 2019 i faced the first problem. I noticed a different card number being displayed on the app whose last four digit number was 8120. So i called the axis bank customer service and asked them about it. There reply was that i must have applied for some other card that is why other number is being displayed on my app. I told them i have not applied for any other card and they said it is not a problem and they will cancel the new card. This happened on 21.08.2019 and i was given a request number which is 54508722. But the next day also the same number was displayed on my app, so i called again and explained the problem. Now they told me that axis bank is removing my choice credit cards that is why a new card "neo credit card" is being given to the customer in place of the old card. Then i received a new card on my address and the sixteen digits of the credit card is [protected]. So i told them about my last conversation with the customer care agent. I was given assurance that this problem will be solved but it did not and the new card was also not being displayed on the app. I was constantly calling them about the issue.
On the 29.08.2019 again they assured me that the issue will be solved and i was also given a request number which is 54785922. But the problem continued and my payment date was also approaching and both new and the old credit card were not showing in the app. I called them again and spoke about my problem. They told me that i will have to make the payment from any another third source and my issue will be solved. So on the 01.09.2019 i made the payment of rs 19, 630 through paytm. But the problem continued and i called them again and they told me that i will have to clear all my outstanding amount which is approximately rs 2, 10, 000. But i explained it to them that it is not possible for me to clear this amount at once. If i had to pay the actual amount excluding the interest then only i will be able to pay. So i received a reply that now there is no settlement option for me and they assured me a customer care executive will be calling me later and solve this problem. But no customer care executive called me instead a recovery agent called me and spoke to me in a very rude and abusive manner. I explained them the whole matter but they were of no help. They called me around twenty times a day and talked to me in a very bad manner. So i decided not to use any of the services from axis bank and called the customer service for assistance but they told me that they have accepted my request for the settlement on the 04.11.2019. They gave me a request number which is 56620395. They told me that i will be receiving a call from the settlement department. But no calls have been made to me for settlement. Instead i have been only receiving calls from the recovery agents.
Now, i have received a settlement option from the axis bank, and they asked me to pay rs 2, 30, 000, which is not at all possible for me to pay.
Then i mailed to the senior authorities of axis bank, rbi and consumers forum stating my problems in detail. Post that i received a call from the manager of the axis bank from chinsurah branch which is my home branch. He assured me that he is looking into the matter and the problem will be solved. I had also given a letter stating the detailed issues and they received it.
After two days, two people arrived at my place and said that they have come from axis bank shakespeare sarani settlement department. They informed me that my settlement will be done and they took a letter stating that i agree to pay the settlement amount and also an id proof which was my voter id card. But after that they have just been giving me dates but the settlement approval letter has not yet been given to me. I will only be paying the settlement amount to the bank legally. Its been long since this issue is going on. I have been trying to resolve this issue since last august but no progress is seen. And instead of solving the issue bank is just increasing the interest amount.
Now it has become frustrating and i feel it has been risking my life as the interest is just increasing and they are stretching this matter and not solving it.
The bank is still asking me to pay the due and use the credit card and also they are offering me other loans.
2nd december, now i received a bill of amount rs. 99, 000 and also the loan amount of higher interest. They informed me that the total due of my credit card bill is rs 2, 40, 000.
This is to inform you that i cannot pay this amount as my family has fallen under hard time in recent times, but i do want to settle this in a fair and just manner so that you can have the money you deserve and we can be relieved of the burden of owing you this debt.
I will be able to give 20% of my debts. If the bank agrees to settle with this amount, i shall be clearing their dues within the next 5 business days. More than 20% is not affordable for me in the present situation.
I am clearly stating that due to the unprofessional behaviour of the bank towards me i will not be continuing any relationship with the bank anymore and close my credit account as soon as possible.
I am ready to settle this as soon as i get the confirmation from your side.
So, it is my request to the higher authorities, please kindly resolve this matter and close my credit account. This problem was initiated by the bank and instead of solving it they are harassing me.
I will really grateful if this problem is solved now.
