This is for the kind attention of the best undertaking regarding the bus shortage and also buses just being parked and not operate for minutes together.
I would like to tell u that i and my husband are senior citizens aged 73 and 72 resp. We reside at lalbaug in the parsi bldg., hilla towers, and we have to travel to destinations where we need bus route 1, 1 ltd., and 51, going towards dadar and tilak bridge, many times, and we are totally tired and fed up waiting for these three buses, for more than 45 minutes at any given time. I would like to ask best, that other buses' frequency is much better like 5, 156, 66, and why not these three buses? Taxis refuse to ply more than 80% of the time. While some buses keep coming regularly but these 3 buses' frequency is not there only. Please listen to our difficulty and look into this matter. Best claims that they are going in loss, but if they treat the public like this, then what do they expect?
Another thing, i have to go to nariman point (Mantralaya) lot of times as i was an employee of air india, and now retired, and have to go there time and again, during the month and every time i go there, the buses like 45, are there lying idle, and that too 3-4 of them, while the no. 8, 19, 5, 15, and very less and even if they are there, they don't ply and the passengers have to wait either on the bus stop or inside the bus a longtime, and if the driver or conductor is asked about the departure they straight answer that we have to go to the bus official, sitting under the fan in the booth provided for them. Is it not a citizen's right to question them for their apathy? The public gets so harrassed. If the best want to make profit, then isnt it their duty first to see the public get what they need? The whole of nariman point bus depot is crowded with taxis and private cars, double parked and drivers sitting inside either sleeping or idling.
I as a senior citizen would like to appeal to you about these problems, and help the public, i[censored] want them to use the public transport.
