Big Bazaar is a company that is continously cheating customers.They are always giving less discounts in some products than what they advertise.They also charge more prices than MRP in some products.It is time that we Indian customers raise our voices against such big lies propagated by these companies

I strongly agree
i have been cheated too and i have a proof of their cheating instance on MRP printed by original manufacturer to their MRP sticker.
this should be taken strongly and to a higher level of escalation.
I purchased two packs of tropicana juice where the discounted price was Rs 115/- for any two but I have been charged Rs 84.15 and Rs 85 for two packs ie.Rs 169.15.On inquiry I was told by the billing cashier Mr.Anuj Salvi that discount will appear at the end of bill.However on totaling the bill amount I find that no discount has been given.
Hence I have been cheated and the difference of amount Rs 54.15 must be refunded to me. My bill reference is as follows.
TILL NO. 17. RECEIPT NO.0159842. St. 4783. Ch. 188676. Tr. 36382.
date 25/2/2011 (21.23 hrs.)

BIG BAZAAR — Excess Billing

On 3rd Dec 2011 I went to Food Bazar pune(in pune central opp to Esquare) and bought my monthly grocery and when I check my bill after coming back home followings are my findings-
1-For Garam Masala the MRP is 29 /= but in the bill its charged as Rs 32/=

This is a very-very objectionable thing and I am going to put this in leading papers and to consumer forum as I have all the bills with me.

Also this has happened 2nd time with me. Required immediate attention by Senior Authorities.

    This is prasanta kumar, a consumer got cheated by BIGBAZAR due to wrong information on their printouts about an offer of a liter of vegetable oil on purchase of items specified for rs.999.(condition of single bill not mentioned )

    Ad paper in each floor reads buy for 999 and get 1 lt.of veg oil free.

    purchases-vide cash memo nos:1. T 52/59604 AMOUNT-393.00 cash

    2. T26/5473 -768.00 credit card
    3. T32/[protected].00 same card
    All the above products are purchased as per condition.

    At the free gift section the person mr.sarat, Manager gave a strange arguement of single bill.TWO printouts on the backside waal of the manager doesn't show the single bill condition .Where as another Special paper was placed on one corner with this condition.

    I felt cheated .Had it been known to me Iwould have taken all items in a single bill.If a

    regular coustmer if gets cheated in this way, confidence on BIG BAZAR WILL TAKE A NOSE DIVE. Many customers were of the same opinion.

    BIG BAZAR is a good super market.we will get every thing what we want.but quality is not good, iam giving advise to others not to take clothes from BIGBAZAR...quality is very CHEAP..

      I have purchased a LG Washing Machine from HOMETOWN, Outer Ring road, Bangalore, about 2 weeks back and I had been promised to get it delvered within 3 days now its been more than 2 weeks and I still haven;t got my washing machine delivered yet.
      I have paid the amount of about 25, 800 Rs. in advance as well on the sale day.

      I personally spoke with many people in your department by calling them over phone everyday. I even spoke with Bernett, EZONE Department Manager and no action has been taken yet. Bernett last time promised me that he will make sure that my product (Washing Machine) will be delivered by 2nd April, 09 Thursday, but that again was a false promise.

      The reason I was told all the time was NO STOCK but on the Sell Date I was told that they have the stock and should be delivered within 3 days.

      I feel cheated by your whole team including Sales, Department Manager, Delivery and etc. It casued me lot of mental fatigue, waste of time, money & energy, personal demage to my family plans.

      Appropriate action needs to be taken against them.

On 19 th March i got confirmation from Future Bazaar that this order is confirmed for which my credit card limit is freezed for that time ive mailed them . & i got confirmation that this product will be dispatched to you wit in ten days . On 24th March iam getting mail that This order stands cancelled, Due to incorrect information posted over your website

        Futurebazaar.com — fraud

        I had placed an order for Nikon 12MP Camera on 5th Dec 2010 through my credit card on futurebazaar.com. My order no is [protected].
        I had received the camera accessories on 13th Dec. Before that I had complained to future bazaar regarding camera status as it showed in their website under order status as "In process "The complain no which is 590141.

        I received a reply from Shweta Agarwal from Futurebazaar on 13th Dec stating the camera is not readily available & we are arranging for the same & the same will be dispatched on or before 17th Dec. To my utter surprise I received a call from one of the executives from futurebazaar on 18th Dec.& was shocked to know that the camera is not available with them & they cannot deliver the same. As per the executive the money would be refunded to me & the accessories which I had received it earlier will have to be returned to the nearest Big Bazaar or Pantaloons showroom. This is not acceptable at all.

        I have a serious doubt on the credibility of this company with following points unanswered

        1. When futurebazaar.com doesn't have the product in hand they should not advertise & make fool of the customers.
        2. They are cheating on the consumer by taking the money & keeping the same for longer run & then informing the customer of refunding the money. Probably they have started a new business of earning money through interest of the customer’s money in this way.
        3. I strongly believe its responsibility of the company to arrange for the product in whichever manner they can as it’s not my fault. If not they should compensate the customers by paying penalty.
        4. They should not be allowed to advertise products for sale on their website if they don't have stocks.
        5. While purchasing they don't even mention on the products whether it’s limited stocks or sold out.

        I request there should be some strong action taken against them for cheating with public money & making false commitment. I will never buy any further product from futurebazaar & will surely start the campaign through my social networks & make everyone aware of their malpractices & at the same time request the other people not to get mislead by them .

          I am writing this to just inform you that the people working at BIGBAZAR cash counter/ customer services are not reliable.

          I went to purchase some house hold thing from Big Bazar Noiada (Great India Palace ) on 28th March 09 . As ususal purchased goods get packed into BIG BAZAR poly bag at the cash counter by your staff memeber after bill payment done . When I opened the polybag at home, I found that one item was missing (Clinick Hair Oil of Rs. 60 ) that was not packed by BIG BAZAR packing staff .

          I called the customer care number mentioned at the bill (Hepl desk No. [protected] ) and reported the problem to the customer care staff .
          He asked for the bill number and mobile no. just for formality .

          He asked me to be on hold on the call and said to wait till he check the same at the counter as per Bill no. T31/31916. I waited for 15 min and finally call got disconnected even after that I was expecting the call from customer care staff and did not get even today i.e 31st March 09.

          Story was not ended here ...

          Again i made call for the same and same staff mamber has picked up the phone and made excuses that
          He consulted the counter staff and there is no item like Clinick hair oil was left so he cant do any thing for customer.

          He did not accepted the mistake done by the packing staff and nither provided any kind of solution .

          This is because of your worst peaople and their attitide which hearted me a lot . I am asking whos mistake is this ?

          Is it Customer mistake who have belive/ faith on your staff. If poly bag get shield at the counter it shelf when he will let this know that the all items is packed or not.

          I do not know even after writing this message any body will look in the matter.

          One thing is clear that if this type of services will be continiued then there is no more time to end of BIGBAZAR life.

          I personally will not suggest to any body to visit BIGBAZAR .

            Dear Sir,
            The Big bazaar group is having a advertisement in The Times of India each Wednesday claiming that products are being offered special discounts on several items on wednesday in Branches in maharashtra/Thane including the tarapur(Boisar, Thane) branch . But it is very sorry to state that no such offers are ever implemented in tarapur branch - e.g. this week on 25/03/09 they claimed sugar was offered at Rs.22.50/KG but the Tarapur counter was selling sugar at regular price of Rs.24/KG. Again many other items like Onion, Grapes, parleG Biscuits were being sold at regular rates whereas the advertisement in The Times Of india claims discounts. This is improper advertisement & practise should be changed & scheme available at all branches on the day mentioed in advertisement.

            i agree with the above complaint.this case is not only with the wednesday bazaar but also with regular offer at big bazaar.for eg on22/7/2011 there was an offer on tasty treat drink i.e. the actual price was 80/-for 2 ltrs but big bazaar offer price was 65/- for 2 ltrs however at counter it was sold to me at 80/- rs.the above complaint was registered in 2009 but 2 years from then the condition is the same.

              I had purchased a 3 door ward drobe from Big Bazaar nearly 1 and half months back. The exact date was 16th Feb 2009. I was promised delivery by 24th Feb 2009. It is now 25th March and even after repeated follow ups there is no response.

              Dear Sir,
              This letter is in reference of a Metal bed 101 and matress 75x60x4” on date 26/02/09 time 19:42 that I purchead from your center.
              But after two months only Bed got distroyed, two time I did complanit to your product manager, but he did not take any actions, i am quite disappointed about this Matter. That Metal bed, I purched for Rs.8000(ten thousand) and with six year warrenty . Now I want is that, either give my Money back or change the article
              So this is a humble request that please solve my Problem otherwise i have to take any legal action against it.

                hi,

                i was impressed by their bathroom tiles collection and placed an order for renovating our bathroom.
                i found out a thoroughly irresponsible behaviour of their staff to my shock. they do charge an exorbitant amount for their work which i paid in advance. first of all they sent the wrong color of tiles and secondly he had promised to take the remaining tiles back from us as they were the ones who had made the estimation for the amount of tiles required. they later backed out from taking any responsibilty for their fault.
                i have never seen such arrogance and irresponsible beviour and harrassment of customers in any other store in bangalore. shame on hometown for such behaviour

                Home Town — Irresponsible staff

                Hi all,

                I am currently fuming with anger at the way i am being cheated by Home Town, Bangalore.
                I had made an order for a dresser with mirror(costing 8000) on the 18th of October, 2008. As is usually is the case, they dint have the stock, and they convinced me that the delivery will be made on 1st November, 2008. I paid the money instantly believing them taht they will stick to their word. But to my horror, this did not happen.

                I started making follow up calls, almost 5 times everyday, starting 1st of November. Everytime a different person used to answer the call, used to take the advance receipt number of my order, and tell me that since there is some problem with their systems they cannot track the order but will verify and will call me after some time. Some times they would call back, and sometimes they would not. Almost always when ever they called, they assured me that the product will be delivered on the same day. Once a person also told me that the product is already on its way to my place.

                Then on 5th of November, i call them up again, and when i got a similar response, i literally bashed up verbally the lady on the other end of the phone and her manager and threatened that i would complain to the concerned department. They fretted and then started making frantic calls all over Home Town and their warehouse department to find out what the problem was. Then they called me back..this time their Customer Manager, and told me that they have only two products available in stock - one is damaged and he other they are not able to track. And now after almost a month after i made the payment he tells me that i can come and choose some other product with the same price and they will do the delivery.
                Why the hell would i do that? To be cheated again? I am totally confused now..planning to the shop tomorrow and get this sorted out with the Senior guy. I will make sure that i get my money back.

                This miserable experience has taught me a few things...which i think will be helpful for the others also.
                1. Home Town only makes false promises for delivery, they are never prompt.
                2. The staff is totally useless and there is no coordination between them, When things go wrong, they end up playing the blame game.

                Today, i owe that i will never step into that shop again..and will warn all my friends/aquaitances against the same. Hope i have passed on the message.

                On the other note, can someone please tell me if there is any way of suing these people? Is there a customer grievances cell in Bangalore whom i can approach and lodge a complaint? Thanks in advance.

                I faced a similar situation as well on 14 Nov 2008. I had purchased a complete wall unit and a center table and when the goods came to be delivered, the driver of the truck misbehaved and screamed when he came to know that the lift in the apartment was not working. Is that my concern? When I called the Hometown guys, they said that there were not informed and now I need to arrange for manpower to get the stuff delivered to my apartment and also pay extra for that, how HORRID can that be !!!

                When a stuff is bought then it should be the headache of the Hometown folks to understand how they need to deliver the goods irrespective of whethere there is a lift or not. They need to send adequate manpower and not play the blame game and say that they were not informed of the same. This is absolutely ridiculous.

                On the same note, I would say, that I had bought many more stuffs from Lifestyle and there service was par excellence. The goods were delivered and assembled on the same day !!

                Hometown is utter RUBBISH and I will never buy anything from this shop anymore and will share the same with everyone I know !!

                It was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!

                I do agree with the above complaints as I too am victim of home town poor service
                I totally agree with your problem. I am also currently facing the same problem. I have booked a dinning table the delivery date of which was 01/09/2011 not after several attempt from my end, i discovered that they do not have the dinning table at their godown and asked me to wait for another 1 month. Now i want to cancel the booking and get by entire refund back as i can not wait for 1 month but Home Town Rajarthat has refused to refund me the money and asked me to knock their HO door by providing me a simple email of their HO.

                In my opinion, one should not buy any product from Home Town for which the delivery was supposed to be made in future without taking immediately delivery, i would advice the customer not to make the entire payment.

                  This shops is one of the biggest cheaters I have ever seen. They have this coupon concept. Guys never trust this coupon. This coupon is just to make you come again and get cheated again. Last week, they came up with offer of Rs 25 per kg of newspaper. Catch was we should buy goods worth 4 times of the amount we get. Eg. We put paper worth 250, you need to buy 1000 rs stuff to claim this coupon. But we went with good worth Rs 1000+ and stand in the queue for 30 mins and finally female at the counter says only selected item in their shop is covered. Unbelievably none of our stuff we bought were eligible for the coupon exchange. This was so frustrating. How can someone keep on cheating consumes like this forever? Need to bring awareness to people about this...

THIS ITEM WAS PRICED 645/- WITH DISCOUNT OFFER OF 500ML FREE.THE CASHIER CHRGED 1935/- AND MADE QTY AS THREE WHICH WAS WRONG.ON COMING HOME I SAW THAT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED THRICE FOR SINGLE ITEM.                   Well even i bought a new furniture from bigbazar recently from vashi.They delayed the dilivery and later dint install it but just gave the pices which were suppose 2 be installed.we kept repeatedly calling but no response.
                  They assured that they would come but they gept delaying and are still doing that.
                  bigbazar really dont respect customers.They dont respond properly
                  So i am very unhappy with the whole incident.
                  I completly agree with this one, same thing also happened with me at bigbazaar store at sahara mall.
                  iitsss very true .guys please dont trust bigbazzar... and get cheated anymre...even the most most smallest item bought from there is not in proper.The bedsheet which i bought from big bazzar was torn...and the most frustrating thing is the offer for the coupons...we got the coupon worth Rs.3000...Unbelievably none of our stuff we bought were eligible for the coupon exchange...these people are looting money from these kind of coupon concept..guys pls dont shop anymore in BIGBAZZAR...PONDYBAZZAR, ..CHENNAI

                    my name is bhargava, i purchased one leather bag on 11th December 2008 at BIG BAZAAR abids Hyderabad, for bill payment i gave my debit card, my money was debited twice because of the mistake of the sales person . the next day i went to the mall and asjed about the mistake thay said the back office people are busy try to come another day i went after 2 days then also the same answer i got. good thing is they gave one number to call about the issue when ever i call to that number they are saying it will automatically credited to your account with in 10 days.

                    i got the same answer almost 4 times, due to my busy schedule at office i didn't get free time to go there, i have trust on BIG BAZAAR thats why am not complained till now but now am ralised that am mistaken about BIG BAZAAR.

                      Today, in Koremangala Bangalore Big Bazar, I selected one korean blanket cost 1800/- but their employee said It is already selected by one customer and kept aside. It was not billed and i stood their for about 15 mins but noone turned up to take that bag which was carefully packed in plastic chain bag. How can they keep an item which is not yet billed and ignore another customer who is instantly ready to pay the cash.

                      Ok chill...i thought and selected another peice and asked their employee to pack the blanket but surprisingly he did not packed it and replied that there is no cover available for this. I saw plastic chain bags there made for blankets only. I saw that peice which was carefully packed and kept aside for the customer who did not bother to pay the bill first.

                      Ok then I asked him to reduce plastic bag amount which he refused and if you want to buy you have to buy without bag they will not give any bag they will just give a plastic cover.

                      I spoke to there manager Deepak who was not atall ready to listen. than spoke to store manager Joseph who was convienced by Deepak in their local language and same way they customer care manager Raghvendra was informed internally who also spoke very rude words.

                      Any way I left the blanket there only. Hope that would be sold out to the same customer who did not even bother to bill the items.

                      I think this is totally foolish and unprofessional behaviour. This way everyone will select the items and will ask to keep aside assuring to come back in few seconds and leave back to their home.

                        Dear Respected One's,

                        I placed an order on the 14th of February, 2009 for 2 Sony Ericsson F305 Mobile Handset order no.[protected] & order no. [protected]. After 4-5 days when I called up on their customer service number provided they told me that the order has been cancelled as there was a pricing error on the site. When I asked as to when the order was cancelled, they told that it had been cancelled on the same day of placing the order. However when I checked on the site to find the status of the orders, it showed "In Process." I have gone through their Terms & Conditions and it is clearly also mentioned that they will contact the customer incase the order is cancelled under any circumstances. This was not done in my case. Infact, I am even more enraged because as I am a person who keeps a track of my expenses & know exactly what is the availability of Credit card limits & had made the mistake o[censored]sing the same card on a business trip wherein when I tried to swipe my card to purchase a laptop, the merchant told me that the card had insufficient balance. I contacted my bank & was informed that the limit is still blocked by Future Bazaar. This has caused for someone like me complete embarassement. Due to their mistakes, I have had to pay a huge cost Mentally. I would like to find how may more people like me have these people harassed & how may cases are such where these people have taken orders & then cancelled. I plan to approach the RTI for the same & take strict action against these offenders. Seems like I am not the only ones to suffer.

                          I received this sms on my phone-Rs200 discountat BigBazaron SBI MasterGold/Maestro Card on min purchase of Rs800.Show this sms BBServiceDesk. Valid till 08Mar09 on selectitems.TnC apply.

                          I went to Big Bazar at Lucknow, showed them the sms and made a purchase of about Rs1700 and paid the bill by Maestro card. But they did not give me any discount at bill desk. When I contacted at customer care desk they gave me a discount coupen of Rs200 instead and asked me to make yet another purchase Rs.800(min) to avail the discount.

                          This is how Big Bazar attracts customers on false promises.

                            I had bought one computer desk, working desk for my home to do work on my laptop computer. The rep had promised delivery with fitting within 10 days. Today is the 15th day. One person had earlier came and dropped off box package of desk. He said tomorow person will come to assemble it. Next day assembly guy came and found out that one part is missing. He promised to return with missing part next day. His next day has not come till today and big bazar still says wait for 2-3 more days.

                            RIDICULOUS SERVICE

                            I had 4 BIG BAZAAR Gift Vouchers each worth Rs.250. In the month of March I used 3. The balance 1, I went to Big Bazaar on 20/06/2009 to purchase things and when I submitted the last Voucher (No: [protected]) BB250, I was told that it has already been redeemed.                             we are regular customers of big baazar, I'm from nagpur, i had ordered for a sofa set and a shoe rack on 21/8/09 amounting to RS.14, 800 we had made full payment, the sofa set was delivered on 26/08/09 but the shoe rack was not delivered, on inquring we were told that the shoe rack will be delivered within 2 days, wheras the shoe rack was kept ready at their show room, now nearly 17 days have passed for the matter and on enquring the department personal why the shoe rack was not delivered? which was with them in ready stock we'er imformed that the same piece has been sold to another customer whereas during the time of booking we'er told that the piece kept is not for sale it is only for sample.Now the personal are telling that they can't give assurance when the same piece of shoe rack will be delivered on the contrary we can take our money back.It may kindly be noted that we don't want our money back but we want the same peice of that shoe rack immediatly

                            I have purchased a 2 door wardrobe on 01/09/2010 and was promised to get the delivery on 15/09/2010.
                            I haven’t received any calls as of yet.

                            I paid initial advance deposit of 1000/- Rs while I booked my order. I was told that rest can be paid when I will get delivery of my order.
                            Now when I called them, they said since I haven’t paid the full amount, I will not get my delivery.

                            Would I have been told this on 1st day itself, I would have paid the entire amount at that time only.
                            Why do you make false promises to your customers when you cannot keep it??? This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

                              I had purchased a 3 door wardrobe from Hometown, Ishaniya mall, nearly 3 months back.The material was delivered at the following address:

                                sir, i purchased 2 kg of sugar from the above mentioned company on 26/02/2009.They charged a price of Rs.55.00 for this product.but the actual mrp for 1kg sugar is around Rs.24.50.That is they are charging Rs 27.00 for 1kg of sugar.The worst part is that they announce the company price of the product as Rs22.50.when i asked them about the extra price, they told that the extra charge was for packing.The packing is like any other shops' normal packing.the cash memo of my bill is#T13/28594.

                                  On 21-feb-09, there was an ad on Hindu (chennai) news paper that Big Bazaar is giving big exchange offers. One of the offer said that if you buy a persian carpet then you get 50% discount. On top of this offer if you exchange an old carpet you get 50% + 25% discount. Reading this i went to a big bazaar outlet at Vadapalani, Chennai. I gave away my old carpet at a counter and in return they gave me coupons worth 80 Rs. When i enquired, they said these coupons where given based on the weight of the carpet (4Kg * 20 Rs). They also told me that i can give this coupon at the cash counter and redeem it for a 25% discount. When i purchased a new carpet and gave these coupons for availing the extra 25%, the couter salesman did not know how to redeem it. He said he can only give me 80Rs discount. When i went to the customer service department, I did not get any positive response from them. The service was extremely bad. I insisted in meeting the store manager. When i met him i explained him the whole situation. I was really shocked to hear the response from the manager. He said the 25% discount that was published in the news paper was the name of the offer and does not mean you will get 25% off.

                                  I would say this is a very cheap way of cheating the customers. I will never ever step into Big Bazaar again or will i recommend it to others..

                                  What we are lacking is the respect for the consumers even while the consumers are charged heavily. The consumer care department is so useless that people prefer to live with the loss then to approach the consumer care department. Its not enough just to stop going to such malls or not to suggest others to go to such malls. The government has to come up with effective consumer services and people(consumers) have to press on it. Internet is one big way to start the campaign, but it has to be consolidated and focused. Other wise things will remain the same.

                                    I ordered an iron cot at Big Bazaar, Bangalore on 25/1/2009 and they promised the delivery on 9/2/2009. Later that i gave about 100 phone calls with respect to the delivery, but there is no response from there end. I am thinking to put a case in consumer court. Please suggest me how to approach for that and please let us know if any one interested to do the same.

                                    The big bazar, old madras road, bangalore gave me such a bad experience, which make me to never look to them again.
                                    I booked a cot, mattress and a TV table on 03.01.09 but till now even after so much calls and perosnal meet the goods are still not delivered me fully.they send cot, mattress one day after 25 days of booking...then there fitter came after 3 days after so much calls.Still (26.02.09) TV table is not delivered to me, even I paid them fully on 3 jan 2009 itself.
                                    Its this way to treat the customer. If they are not able to delivered the goods on time, then why they are taking the orders???
                                    Junta, who are planning for some order from there...be prepare to be foolish and tortured by them...

                                      I went to big bazaar on the first day of the madly advertised sabse sata din(3 days)...in the last week of jan09.
                                      the advt. had come in the newspaper highlighting the products which were on discount .there was an item ----ltous kaajal (buy one get one free).I went on the first floor of the thane(w) branch and asked for it .they did not have it ---imagine!!! there was arrangement for the mad rush which they were expecting anf they did not have the product.the lady on the counter told me the stock hadnt arrived ...and that the available stock was at 15% off only.
                                      she had no clue that any such discount was on that day .If any of the co. personnel are reading this can verify it from the store .
                                      what compensation can the store give to such customers???
                                      I have lived in the US and the policy there is to give a raincheck when a advertised product is not available in the store to pacify a customer..
                                      the customer can show the raincheck on the next visit and pick up th product at the discounted price.that way the customer is not cheated...

                                      kindly look into the matter!!!

                                        I had purchased furniture from hometown on 28th September 2008. Today is 13th February 2009. Of the 8 products mentioned in my receipt I got 7 products in 2 months timeframe. But one product, which my wife is eagerly waiting for Dresser-Mirror has not been delivered till date. I have made repeated calls to several people in the furniture department (Mr. Paras Khanna is the manager of the furniture department..have spoken to Kuldeep..have spoken to amit etc etc). Every time I am either given a lame excuse or am told that the item will be delivered in the next one week.
                                        At this point in time, I am very frustrated and annoyed and would recommend that no one buys anything from Hometown anymore.
                                        If anyone has better ideas, pls suggest.
