Refund of my cancelled flight tickets

My refund been stuck for a month whereas I was told that it has been processed and it is on its way. When I contacted the support, they were clearly making excuses to keep me waiting for their lack of competency. On top of this they mentioned they might deduct more money than was previously told. I do not understand why the money has not been refunded to me yet despite getting a confirmation email from expedia that my refund has been processed...

I have booked" Bhajan Aashram Rishikesh" on dt 16.04.2022 through Expedia.co.in and make payment of Rs.2000 by SBI net banking.But neither accommodation has been booked nor amount has been refunded up to till date.Even contact no. of this site is also invalid.
Kindly take necessary action to refund my money.

    Hi I had booked ticket from Toronto to Saint John, New Brunswick Canada for jan 21st 2022.
    before departing India on 19th jan I was covid positive and hence rescheduled my flight and it was done easily be international airlines.
    similarly when I called Expedia to do the same I was told to contact Air Canada. Air Canada gave me approval to go ahead and change my dates for feb 15th 2022. I called Expedia again- Gurgaon they said ok and charged mr extra money of 9900 + 10500( old ticket fare) and booked my ticket for feb 2022 saying that I will get air ticket within 24hours. But never received my air ticket and you are cheating customers like me.
    very disappointed and I will take this matter to civil aviation authority and PMO office including government of India. Your customer service is constantly lying to customers and you are not supposed work in India or do business. if I don't get my full refund within 48 hours I will take further serious action against tour company.

      My money has been debited from my account and the call-center has booked my ticket when the airline isn's operational. I don't get any response. Its absolutely disgusting.

        I was travelling to Bhimtal near Nainital, India. I tried making a hotel booking through Expedia, i was charges for res 2800 but there was no booking confirmation, i spoke to the Expedia customer service agent he confirmed with my mobile no. and email that the is no booking on my name and the funds debited will be refunded, after that i booked another hotel from a different portal. After 30 mins when i had already checked in to the new hotel i get a call from the previous hotel that the booking is confirmed, i told him that i have already booked another hotel, any informed the same to Expedia.
        It has been 2 weeks, i experienced the worst service ever, even after multiple assurance there is no refund, they don't even reply on mail, there service agent no says they cannot do anything, i want to file a legal complaint.

          I made two business class bookings on british airways blr/jfk/blr. The airline cancelled a sector and on the ba website it says please call your agent for a full refund. I have called expedia 10 times over three times, written to them and exhausted every means possible but have been unable to get them to cancel. They keep putting me on hold, transferring to different people, say tool is not working and keep saying we will call back but they dont call back.

          Its a lot of money and i cannot suffer this loss. I am willing to pay for any charges despite ba saying that i will get full refund. Expedia is systemically blocking me from cancelling.

            Expedia sold me a 4-star hotel named Artsy South Congress in Austin. This hotel does not exist. There is no such thing at the address given in their voucher. On reaching Austin and after making few calls on helplines, I was sent an email asking to enter into Lola apartment complex using a passcode, and then get into an apartment using another passcode.
            This was a dirty, shabby apartment owned by someone, in a residential complex that had all other apartments used by regular citizens. The apartment happened to be extremely dirty, but there was noone to call to clean. I stayed there for two nights. Nobody ever came to clean or for any other housekeeping. Since the apartment was in basement, insects were crawling all over the place. All pictures are shown here.
            Expedia removed my review and complaint from their website. This is a FRAUD, as such a Hotel Artsy Congress just DOESN'T EXIST.
            Do NOT ever use Expedia.

              This is Chirag, with regards to my trip id *[protected]. * I had called up
              Expedia(india) customer support and on my first conversation with
              customer care executive had confirmed for refund for my booking. post which I made some other plan and decided to cancel my booking that time was informed no refunds will be issued. but still went ahead with cancellation, since I was told if somebody had confirmed of refund than shall get it. so asked to cancel my booking and also was assured they will check previous conversation with regards to refund and will get back.

              No body got back and finally today I again called up and immediately that
              time all previous conversation were been checked and was told not refund
              since last conversation agent told me wont be getting refund.

              This is very absurd and clearly this is case of cheating against me and
              also disowning from what you have spoken.

              I can also claim I was forcefully made to cancel my booking since I had no
              other option.
              I had already put a complaint on their website dated 24 Feb'2016, post which there were many reminders and series of call I made to them. But no response from their side till date. This is most pathetic online travel company I have come across who don't even bother to get back to query/complaint.

                Got an attached email from expedia for RS 800/0 off on any domestic flight with no restriction . The offer says the coupon applies on any domestic flight with no restriction, when you apply coupon it validates the same but when you book - it add up the discount and charges you the full amount. Took me 2 hours to explain the same to service center(expedia.co.in) and to recreate the problem and send them to even look at the problem. Booking id: [protected]

                  At 24 sept.2014 i called to expedia for hotel booking in shimla for the period 2-6 oct 14 and customer care executive provided me some option among which i selected one (hotel sunrise) and he made a confirm booking then amount has deducted from my bank account and i received confirmation on e mail for booking On 1st oct 2014 around 10 am in morning i received a sms on my mobile from hotel sunrise that booking is not possible for any one who booked hotel after 16th of September please contact to expedia for more detail, i called to expedia customer care they kept me wait more than 1 hour and finally said yes there are "some" problem and we will call you and provide you some alternate option in next 1 hour, but i have not recived any call even after next 2 hours, then i called again and this time again i explained all to them and they said we are transferring your call to relocation dept. but on transferring my call i kept waiting exactly 2 hours and no one picked my call, same thing happened to my next call to expedia, again executive kept me wait for 2 hours and finally transfered my call to relocation dept. this time call got picked up and a lady said sorry we do not have list for option so please contact to expedia india office i again called to expedia and after 1 hour wait executive again transfered my call to relocation dept this time same lady picked up and said i need to see and look what i can do, i told her that please take my case seriously as since morning i am trying to call but none of the i got any serious rectification, she said she will call me in some time i received a call from her and she gave me options like can you cancel this trip and go to some other dates or can you take another hotel ( which was 80 km far away from the location of shimla) i refused as it was not suitable at all, so finally she said i am dropping an e mail you may contact to the no mentioned in e mail the no was "travel guru" who are associated with expedia, i called on given no but to my surprise i got an answer from travel guru that we do not have any booking information in our system so we cant help please contact again to expedia i again contacted and by the time it was already 10 pm and i could not start my travel and it was not possible to reach shimla at 2 oct i had to lose my travel i again called expedia and asked for refund of booking cost and the loss of travel ticket cancellation but they plainly said only refund of hotel booking is possible and for other reimbursement please write mail on this and we will revert in next 7 business working days I made biggest mistake of my life booking via Expedia India i lost my holidays wasted full days calling expedia more than 10 hours in day which is not a toll free but paid call travel ticket cancellation amount and mental stress complete hell like treatment i will file a case against expedia in consumer court and fight for justice i want to share with every one this experience so one may think twice before opting expedia

                    I booked hotel room through expedia.co.in for 3-8-2014 to 5-8-2014 but when I was reached to the hotel, its provided wrong picture and information in expedia.co.in. It was different, totally worst.                     I purchase 2 airline tickets on Air Berlin for flights from Berlin to Salzburg. While purchasing the ticket online, there was no prompt that this was a light ticket which did NOT allow any checked in baggage. the Airline is now asking me to pay Euro 35 per each bag of 20 Kg.

                      First of all they should add one more phrase in their introduction. "Expedia Inc. is the world's largest online travel company with highly poor customer service." I had booked a hotel through Expedia and as Expedia claim in their booking receipt that "no need to call and confirm, your booking is confirmed". I trusted this word and didn't call hotel for the confirmation. On my arrival in hotel I found that they didn't have information of my booking. After some time they allocated me a room which was of lower category than what I booked! Moreover the package I bought was with buffet breakfast however to my surprise the hotel didn't have any in house restaurant and they do not offer any breakfast, lunch or dinner service as well! I had talk to Expedia customer support for almost 1 hour to explain them the situation and after that also only word I heard from them is "sorry we can not do anything for this. Only thing we can do is process refund." At this time they had confirmed 100% refund (verbally and by email as well) and just now I got email from expedia customer support that I won't get 100% refund. This is even after all mistakes is from Expedia! This is quite ridiculous and frustrating. Being world's largest online travel company if they can not verify hotel details and can not manage customer bookings then they should shut off their business.This is the worst experience I have ever had.                         I have been totally disappointed with the kind of response received by Expedia.Co.in. It's really surprising to know that you guys don't have any quality and compliance team in india. I understand this is your new setup and it takes time. But that doesn't mean you can take customers for granted. I had a problem from day 1 when I escalated my concerns to Mr.Shakti Hooda from Expedia India. He claimed to be the only person for escalations in entire expedia india team. Wow!! Just can't believe thats true. Well here is my short and simple story. I am getting married on 11th may 2014. I called up expedia help line. No one is interested to customize my package. Rather then asking me to go online to do so. So I raised my concern on Facebook. Next day got a call from Shakti who said will arrange a call back from one of their best executive. After 7hrs approx received a call from Salman Hashemi. He gave me the below mentioned offer, also mentioned that his shift is getting over in 20 mins (Firstly he is calling me late and telling me he has only 20mins for me)and was very happy. When I asked him can I call back 2mrw? He said the prices might change and according to his experience it can go upto 6inr to 7inr. He suggested me that his colleague will call me and NEVER MENTIONED THAT THE RATES WILL CHANGE. So I got a call from the colleague name Vinay who took my details and claimed the prices have gone up by 20k WTH!!! This was never informed to me.. Why does agents bully customers for sale.. This is a proper example for misguidance and incomplete information provided to me. Just for the greed for sales I have to suffer. No one in india is there to takecare of my concerns..                           I had booked a ticket from Expedia.co.in Reference Number : S58982356 and S58902842

                          This ticket was booked and there was a failed transaction happened. I immediately call their call center number and it is a paid call (there is no Toll free number). I had talked to their agent (Mr. Amrit jain call ref no: S[protected] for almost 1 hr (including waiting time) I asked this person what to do in this case he said your money will be refunded within 72 hrs in your account. and today it is 1 week and I had to call them 5 times for this and everytime different agent and I have to again explain which is frustrating and money consuming.

                          I talked to Mr. Rishu Nanda regarding the same (Call Ref Number : S[protected] he said your last communication will go for call hearing and supervisors will take a call and you will get full refund (Rs. 6677/-) from expedia in case it is agent error. He asked me to call back in 72 hrs. I called again on 11th Aug 2013 from my hometown number and fortunately it is again same person (Mr. Rishu Nanda). This time i don't have to explain too much and he accepted that it was agent error and still proceedings and investigation is going on and asked to call back after 24 hrs. Now again I called after 48 hrs wait time 15-20 mins and this time some other agent picked up again I had to explain full story which is again frustrating and humiliating and after that no response from call center agent. I was again and again asking can you hear me but no response. Then again I called and again waiting for 15 mins and they say its hotel (but I selected all flight options only how can call go to hotel dept.) and he asked to call next day again. Now My total cost is almost 6900/- for this matter. Please help in sorting this out.

                            An amount of 86,459 INR was transacted at Expedia.co.in using my credit card fraudulently, without my knowledge, on 05-Aug-2013. I reached out to their customer care immediately and lodged a complaint, the reference number for which is S58825602. The executive did confirm the transaction but could not cancel the transaction as they didn't have any other details.

                            It's been a week as of today, and the customer care has only given me false assurances of a call back time and again. But, I received no calls from them neither as an acknowledgement nor for investigation.

                            I did engage in a transaction with Expedia.co.in on 31-Jul-2013, which leads me to believe that the credit card was hacked from their servers. They've certainly lost a customer in me.

                              Expedia.co.in sells you tickets, then doesn't refund when flight gets cancelled.


                              Booked and paid for 4 tickets from Chennai to Port Blair in March 15 2012. On arrival flight got cancelled. Directly got 4 refund orders from airline (Kingfisher). Sent refund request plus refund orders to Expedia.co.in and havent received a refund yet (9 months, 20+ emails, 3 phonecalls and 20+ interactions via Facebook later).

                              At every step they keep adding new information (e.g. refund orders miss some stamp, tickets expired, etc), causing theM to be, 'unfortunately unable to process' my refund request.

                                a booking on expedia.co.in did not go therough on 10the march 2013, but my card and account was debited. i have been calling up thee customer support number of expedia.co.in ofr at least 15 times in thee last monthe. Every time a different person speaks and after talking ofr one hour promises theat thee refund will be therough ofr Rs 12000 or so. but it never happens. thee next time i go therough thee same checks on phone and am asked to send my bank statement to prove theat it was debited and not later credited. But i still have not gotten thee refund. The people on phone refuse to give me thee name of theeir Managing Director or theeir postal address so theat i can put in a complaint. it looks very dicey and one should avoid using theis portal.

                                  i have booked a hotel (citin masjid - malaysia ) once after checkin no service at all when i checked with concerns no response
                                  1. No room service

                                  i have booked for superior queen bed they given me 2 single bed and lots of mosquitos i stayed there 5 days in that they changed 4 rooms there r so many issues my entire journey wasted bcoz of all thing fighting with hotel concerns like towel,makeup room .
                                  After reaching india once i complained daily i spok 5times to expedia customer care they put on hold for min 30min and disconnect finally they accepted for compensation of INR 1,500 but i spent more that 60,000 for my travel.no response for expedia

                                    I had never used expedia.co.in for any kind of booking but on 7th September 2012, I thought of trying this site. I had to book a hotel in Delhi and found a decent one on this site. When I reached the payment page, I couldn’t find NetBanking option, which is usually my favourite way to pay online. Anyway, I was left with no choice but to use my debit card. And I noticed that they had, by default, selected to save my debit card details. I tried a lot but there was no way to ‘deselect’ this. I still went ahead to pay, thinking that such a big website will not do something as fishy as this. 2 minutes later I realised that they not only deducted the usual amount which I was supposed to pay, but also they deducted Rs 100 extra (now that they had saved my details). I was shocked to see this. Very quickly I called up their customer care and they informed me that this happens with every customer /every transaction, to check if the card is working or not! Then he said that I will get this Rs 100 in 1-2 days. I do not understand that firstly how can they deduct anything extra from what we authorise them to deduct. If they have to do something like this, they have to show a message that this is going to happen. This is nothing short of robbery! Another thing what I do not get is why do they have to do this? No other e-commerce site does this.
                                    It’s been 7 whole days and I have not received this Rs 100 back in my amount. I think it’s just another way to make money. If you really ask me, it’s not about this small amount of money. It’s about highlighting the mean business practices that indulge into. I therefore wish to warn everyone to stay away from expedia.co.in, as there are many sites which is reliable and trustworthy. It was a mistake that I tried this site and would never forget this. I have written 3 mails to them asking to return the money and this is what they reply:

                                    It was the first time I was booking a hotel on expedia.co.in and little did I know that I was in for a trap. They have not given netbanking option at the payment page and I was forced to use my debit card. They store all your card details and then over charge you. They deducted Rs 100 extra, over and above what they were supposed to charge. My bank statement shows that they have deducted twice.                                     When I called, they informed me that they do this with every customer to check if the debit card is working or not. I think this is ...I have not seen any other site doing this. And how can they do this without even informing me???? Now they are not ready to give back Rs 100.
                                    If you ask me, it's not really about Rs 100. It's about highlighting their bad practices and mean ways to earn money which is illegal.

                                    Don't get lured by their fancy ads. Stay away from this site. There are anyway much better sites to book the same flights/hotels.

                                      Expedia is one of the worst site to book International tickets. They charged me the money twice and not refunded the amount even after 4 months. They even sent a email stating its their mistake but still not refunded the money. ONE OF THE WORST SITE TO BOOK TICKETS. WILL NOT USE IN FUTURE AND SUGGEST EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                        Expedia.co.in has not refunded my money even after calling them for 2 months. The reservation was cancelled because the airline had cancelled the flight. Expedia confirmed that they recieved the money bak from the airline and a month later, they still haven't refunded me. Why are they keeping my money without any reason. The customer service is horrible!!! Please do not use expedia for anything.

                                          I have booked hotel for my Guest with expedia as per above details and have been charged extra....

                                          Iformed the same to thier contact person Vijay, that My Guest Saket has suffered a lot due to communication gap between Expedia person Parminder and Unique Residency Hotel staff Kalim....

                                          Due to which I have been charged extra...

                                          The same is conveyed Vijay on call on 24th itself and he told that he will check and revert and within 24hrs on root cause of the concern and asked me to pay the charges as per hotel demands to stay which will be returned after providing the hadrcopy or Snapshot of the receipt provided by Hotel during checkout.

                                          It is now more than month now and still no update on root cause of the concern.

                                          This is my first experience with Expedia and its really Pathetic and Embrasing...

                                          Many Time called and booked complaints but no responce from expedia....

                                            I booked a hotel using Expedia.co.in for a hotel room in Vijayawada. Expedia.co.in emailed me the confirmation and the amount was charged to my credit card.

                                            I tried checking into this hotel when I arrived in Vijayawada, but they did not have a room for me. I was told that the hotel never received the confimation.

                                            I called expedia customer service to explain this. I was put on hold for more than 20 minutes and was transferred to someone in the USA at Hotels.com. The Customer service rep at Hotels.com (apparently expedia is none other than hotels.com) promised that an alternative arrangement would be made at another hotel, but that did not happen. The alternative hotel would not accept the payment method that was being offered to them by expedia and i was asked to pay them directly. I spent more than 2 hours on the phone to get the issue resolved but that did not happen.

                                            Things just went totally wrong with my hotel booking. This was my first experience with booking a hotel room using expedia and will probably be my last. Expedia totally failed to find me an alternative arrangement in the absence of my original booking and i was told by the hotel manager that there was another expedia customer who faced the same issue of not having a room available.
                                            The hotel appartently never received any email from you and they never gave you any confirmation. Expedia staff never contacted the hotel to reconfirm the reservation either. I would say this is a complete lack of communication on Expedia's part.

                                              Iam S. SARAVANAN. your curtomer.My brother in law VEERAPANDIAN RANGAN & me saw a advertisement in HINDU News paper chennai edition this 03.10.2011

                                              It said that the company called expedia .co.in is offering a trip Chennai to Kulalumpur ( 3nights & 4 days) inclusive of flight Air Asia and accomadation for Rs.7,779(approx).The booking should be done before 09.10.2011 & travel should be performed before march 2012.

                                              Since we found that it's quiet irresitable we thought of enquiring about it & spoke to a staff on that day itself. We asked the staff & enquired whether there is any hidden cost in it.He replied that there is no such thing.

                                              Hence, we finally decided to do bulk booking for minimum 24 persons.We called the company on 06.10.2011 at about 12.00 noon & and started explaining our request to Mr.Ajay sehgal.He said that Jan.15 2012 the tickets are available but he can do only for 6 persons at a time and moreover told us that he can't assure for rest of the group within the price slot i.e for Rs.7,815 ( approx) per person. We said to start booking since he urged us that the price will change if we delay further.He said that it comes around Rs.48,900 incl.of service charges or whatever and asked us the names of first 6 persons & card details of mine including c v v details.My In law was esistant to give the no. since scb won't recommend this action.But he still insisted that it's govt.approved & assured us that the transaction will be authentic.We proceeded further & gave the details to him.Finally he said that the system is showing error after giving him all the details & at the end of the transaction.I received SMS alert for irrelevant Rs 8,534.61.We enquired about the alert & he was not clear.He told us that he will call back within an hour in my in law's mobile & confirmed us that all the details are in the system.

                                              We waited but there was no reply & we called their toll free no.[protected] again. Ms.SOMYATA answered the call but said she was not able to trace the details and said that it's not available on jan 15 2012 & said that its aavailable on feb10 2012 for the same price slot. We gave the details again for the 6 persons & she started the booking.She confirmed the booking & promised to call back on 07.10.2011.at 11.00AM for rest of the group.
                                              She did'nt give any booking id but insisted to tell us the names of the persons booked & the date of travel for any quiries.This time also sms alert i received was irrelevant for Rs39,822.00 but actual amount she refered was for RS.48,356.61.

                                              We got suspicious about the whole process and called their no.again in the evening. Staff said that the booking is not confirmed.We told the details of the booking with AJAY & SOMYATA.He transferd the line to sanjeev .Sanjeev said that the booking is on Jan 15 2012 again, I told him that Somyata confirmed the seats for feb 10 2012. He said that the booking is confirmed for jan15 with pnr no of flight. I enquired the status for the gruop.He transferd the line to Gaurav & he told us that the booking is on feb 10 again. We were totally confused and decided to cancel the trip.
                                              We said that we don't want to travel on any dates with this amount of confusion.Hence we asked for refund of our amount. Transfered the call to Sanjeev again but he said for that he has go through the details & call us again tommorow.

                                              On 07.10.2011 12.00 noon we called them again to check the status since no one called from their side as per their promise.Ms.Vandhana took the call & she was totally unaware of the case.She once again promised that she will call back within 4.00pm.

                                              But no reply as usual till 6.00pm & hence we called them again.Vijay raghavan took the call & said that the booking will be cancelled for any one of the dates only & amount can't be refunded.We said that we won't want to travel after all this confusions but he still insisted that he will not be able to refund the amount transacted in my card.We argued with him for more than an hour that its not our fault, he apologised for the confusion but the company can't refund the amount. We said we are not travelling but need the refund onany case because of all the terrible confusion happened for past 24 hours .He said its your wish but the money can't be refunded. We told him that we file a case legally on this issue & he said that its up to you to decide and ended the call.

                                              We are also seeking legal advice on this & I have blocked my card as per my standard chartered bank advice since i shuold'nt have disclosed my CARDS C V V No. and requested to hold the transactions made by us with the expedia.The officer MR.Tharun said that one transaction is alredy cleared for Rs.8654 & Rs.39822 (approx) is under process. We requested him to hold the payment since the company is not genuine.He said to register a complaint for that in this site.

                                              So, we are doing this and we will be grateful if your team looks into the matter & solve it as special case.WE NEED THE COMPANY TO BE ANSWERABLE TO ALL OUR MISERIES WHICH IS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR ONOUR SIDE.JUST RETURNING BACK THE MONEY WONT SOLVE THE FRUSTRATION & HARASSMENT FACED BY US FOR PAST 2 DAYS.We hope you will understand the our situation & the pain we have gone through.

                                                Booked an airline ticket using netbanking with Expedia.co.in The money was deducted from my account, but Expedia claimed they never received payment. After 14 days, they cancelled the ticket, but the money was never refunded to my account. So started the merry-go-round of calls with my bank, expedia, etc. Expedia STILL claims they have no record of receiving any money from me, and are trying to blame the bank. The bank, has all the proof stating the money went to Expedia, so it is definitely Expedia's fault. Now I am paying the price because their computers are so crappy that they can't even register a net banking payment.

                                                I still haven't gotten my money back (in the process of working this through), but I'd also like to say what a crappy system of customer support Expedia has. They don't reply to emails, and when you call you never talk to the same person twice, so you have to explain yourself over and over again. It's a really terrible system that is not designed to actually do anything at all.

                                                I would suggest that if you have to use Expedia you use a credit card, so you can block the payment if there are any issues. Because once they have your money, it will become a major hassle to get it back (and who knows if I ever will!)
