My wife had applied for change the name of the electricity supply in respect of Consumer No. [protected]. As requested she had already submitted relevant documents and requisite fees towards the security deposit with the Howrah office. Upon submission of the documents she had received a SMS requesting to deposit the security deposit. The context of the SMS is set out hereunder: "PLEASE ARRANGE TO SETTLE THE SECURITY DEPOSIT AMOUNT TO ENABLE US TO EFFECT THE CHANGE IN NAME AGAINST CONSUMER NUMBER[protected]. THE BILL HAS BEEN SENT TO YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. YOU MAY ALSO DOWNLOAD THE SAME FROM OUR WEBSITE". But surprisingly no email has yet been delivered to this email ID "[protected]@gmail.com. You are requested to take immediate steps to deliver the bill in my email ID. I SHALL BE OBLIGED IF THE PROBLEM IS SOUGHTED OUT ASAP. Niladri Khanra For Subhalaxmi Sen

Sir, ref to my consumer no. [protected], I bring to your kind notice that I received sms on 27 April 2015 at 04:03 PM saying "your electricity bill for 03/15, due date on 05/05/15, amounting to Rs.1130 (Net) has been generated". Since I shall be out of the city and I didn't receive the hard copy of the bill, I went to collect "Copy Bill" on next day 28 April 2015 at 09:30 AM from CESC South Regional Office to make payment before my departure. When I entered my consumer no. in the "Copy Bill Machine", it displayed "bill not yet generated". I approached the staff at the "Copy Bill Counter" and got a casual reply saying "bill will be sent to your home in the coming days". I was really disappointed and I had faced same situations on earlier occasions as well. Hence I request you not to harass consumers sending sms like this. Regards.. Mrs. Kali Pal

Hi, I just made an online payment towards my current bill that was showed to be Rs. 108, however, the online payment charged me Rs. 113 which I don't understand! The transaction receipt showed a couple of convenience charges added and the final amount displayed was Rs. 109.20. so no idea why Rs. 113 was charged! Would be nice if you could help. Many thanks Kind regards Subhabrata

Sir, My CESC consumer number is [protected]. My metre box has been damaged for quite some while now. I have informed this to the CESC representatives who come to our house for checking the metre several times. But they appeared to pay no heed into this matter, and just told me to lodge a complaint online. I tried to contact CESC online, but was unable to find any link that would let me directly contact them. As per the CESC rules, we, consumers, are not to tamper with the metre box. I am very frustrated with this matter and would request you to kindly look into it ASAP. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, Alok Sarkar, A/17 Survey Park, Kolkata 700075. This is with respect to the bill (consumer# [protected]) I received for the month of February 2015 I was not in my residence from 10th December 2014 to 6th March 2015 but still I received a bill of Rs. 560/- for the month of February 2015. On seeing the February 2015 bill I saw that the meter itself has not been checked and that is the reason why the present reading is showing as asterisks although the previous reading value is present in the bill and in spite of not checking the meter reading I have been given a 90 units consumption which I had to pay. I need this amount to be corrected in my upcoming bill for March 2015. Please check the previous bills of mine and adjust the amount in my March 2015 bill . Thanks & Regards, Saikat Sen

During September 2013 to January 2015 my average consumption were below 100 units but Bill for the month of February 2015 all of a sudden a bill showing consumption of 200 units was issued by CESC. Thereafter the usage was reduced to 160 units without showing any reason. The company does not read the meter regularly and often raise and send Electricity Bill on an hypothetical basis. I beg to appeal that my actual usage may be read again from the meter installed in my compound and the bill already raised should immediately be revised so that I may go ahead for making necessary payment to CESC.
