... i just got a bill from citibank and it consisted 2 charges from tata indicom bill desk... one for Rs. 2499.00 and another for Rs. 1999.00 .. this is disgusting...i have spoken to the customer care and they say "since the cvv number has been used, You 'll have to pay the bills"

This is a case of cheating on part of some one who used my credit card details and now i have to pay for it.
The credit card company should have some kind of protection policy in place at least for some loyal customers.

    Hi,

    Since Jan-09, i have been facing issues with Airtel regarding incorrect bills and unable to charge them.
    I had given a CitiBank First Citizen Credit Card to Airtel in Sep-08 for auto debit. After 3 months my credit card was replaced as validity was over. Airtel updates me, as your Credit Card does not match and thus Auto-Debit cannot work.
    After 3 months Airtel processed a request for Auto-Debit on the old credit card which is blocked, cancelled and CitiBank processes the charge.

    When spoke with Citi-Bank rep on the phone, they said that it cannot happen as this is a security breach.

      Dear Sir,

      This is Manjunath Balakrishna, I took personal loan from Citifinancial in 2007, loan account number is 12122218, already I have cleared the loan in August 2008 and also received Early Pay off letter from the bank.

      Even though after the settlement of the loan, Citifinancial has not removed my name from CIBIL, wherein it is showing as an default customer, negative result.

      I walked into Branch in Brigade Road on Saturday 16/05/2009 there was no proper response from the representatives and also I called Customer care in New Delhi from the Branch itself but it was of no use.

      One of the executive informed that he has sent request to CIBIL to change the status from Negative to Positive. But when I asked for the mail reference or proof they didn't respond properly, due to this I am unable to apply for any other loan in any bank.

      I request you to kindly do the needful as soon as possible.

        citibank credit card department is not sending details of my transaction with bank includind my last payment made to them & instead charging inflated amount due against me . Not only this bank blocked my card without any prior sms/information & caused me harassment, humiliation in paying my total bill of hospital (delivery) short of 5000/= when card was handed over to hospital to debit the bill but came to know that card is not active but blocked, very negligent careless dishonest & deficient service provider bank which needs to be sued

          I have been applying for personal loans in various banks for my emergency purpose, but I have been hearing from the bank that I applied that my application is rejected. Most of the banks do not say the reason, but I heard from couple of banks that there is a CIBIL record, that I have an outstanding payment of 2.5 lacs that I need to clear for credit cards. They said, they do not have the Bank details of the same. This was a shocking news for me, as I DO NOT have any such huge outstanding amount from my credit card that I hold. One fine day, 6-8months, before, I got a call from CITIBANK and there was a collection person from the bank at my door step, saying that I have 2.5lacs outstanding amount and I need to pay them immediately. I was shocked to hear this, as I DO NOT HOLD any citibank cards. They have all my information correctly (My name, address, phone numbers, work details). I hold only ICICI Credit Card, where I have 90K, that I have been paying monthly minimum amount regularly.

          Please help me in getting out of this issue, as this is projected as a black mark in my banking history and all my loans application will go a rejection if I need to apply in the future.

          Request your sincere suggestion and help in this regard.

          Harassing me everyday by asking credit card every single day!

          Citibank guys are seriously ridiculous they call me every single day. EVery single day and ask for credit card. How many times shall I tell you that I dont need any card. I seriously wish this company should die soon.

          I am Ahmed Nazeer, actually I was using Citibank credit card 10 years before unfortunately I could not clear one of the balance. Reason is late payment and actually I paid the dues and left the country to abroad and card was also expired. But there was penalty for late payment. I was not knowing this because I cleared credit card bill and left the country. Recently I came to know that my name is in CIBIL defaulter list and found reason not paying credit card late payment penalty . I want to clear this dues but there is no option. There is no citi bank branch in Mangalore.
          Please advise me how to clear this due.

            Respected Sir / Madam,

            I am holding a Citibank Credit card (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-5001) since July 2006 and I have never used that credit card on any ATM for any kind of Cash withdrawal till today.

            I received the statement for the credit card for the period of March 18, 2009 to April 16, 2009, which had demand of Rs. 56, 000.00 against cash withdrawal (which I did not make), I immediately lodged a complaint with the Citibank Customer Care for the disputed transactions.

            But bank has reverted back saying that those are valid transactions. First they said that these were Internet transaction and later mentioned that these were in the nature of ATM Cash Withdrawal.

            When I asked them to prove that my credit card was actually used for these fraudulent transactions they are not complying.

            I have never done these transactions and no one else can do this on my behalf as I know and understand the secrecy level while using any card.

            I know these type of cases are not new for Indian Consumer Complaints Forum, so I request you to help me as I am frustrated with following up with the customer care and the Citibank team members.

            Please help me!!

              Please cancel your fake generated bill against my citi credit card. As you said through email that any policy is cut against my credit card which is not aceptable to me. I have no knowledge about how you cut this policy without prior notice to me. So far the case you cancel this policy and also the fake generated bill that you have send to me. I strictly probihibated and warrning you that for the future such type of incidance could not be tolrable and acceptable. You cut this policy by your own self without prior notice to me so you will be responsilbe for this payment. Again I requested you that please cancel this fake generated bill and their should be no any balace payment against my citi credit card. For further interaction with my credit card you will be responsible for the delay of payment, if you not cancel the fake generated bill. I will wait for your telephonic positive response for the further interaction with citi credit card.

              Citibank Credit Card — Generate fake bill

              I have not swaped my credit card, but citi bank generate fake bill, for this i mail to customercare of citi credit card services a number of times but no positive action taken by them. Now that fake generated bill get raised day by day one after bill. I never give this fake bill that genrated by citi credit card services . Please look in to the matter and solve my problem.

              Citibank Credit Card — Fake Credit Card

              Just now i got a call from Citi Bank that i am using Citi Bank Credit Card (No. [protected]) from 2004 without paying the balance amount. I got surprised that i don't have any kind of Citi Bank credit Card. But the card is issued in my name with full details. Now the bank have suddenly asked that my name is in default list in CIBIL site & i have to pay the balance amount of Rs.31000/- for which i am not aware for long 5 years. I asked the bank to show any transaction i made on the card. They told that no transaction has been made on the card. Even they refused to show any document which carries my signature.
              My question is how my name comes under default list in CIBIL site without any proper verification. It means that there is no authentication of the CIBIL site. Any bank can make anyone defaulter in CIBIL site. Please suggest how i can get out my name from defaulter list.

              Do not waste any time. Approach a good advocate and lodge a criminal complaint with whatever proof you have and initiate proceedings against the bank, before they take any action. Demand damages and compensation for their illegal action.

                  Dear All,

                  I am very disaapointed in the Banking practices inspite of being a voter to try and bring the govenrment who I thought would do justice. Are these banks above the constitution? When ther is dafaulter for credit card Im sure there is a reason why he has defaulted (95 out of 100 have a genuine reason such as loss of pay, loses etc) as no one is bothered today to take loans on credit cards unless its an emergecy.

                  Financial education from the credit authorities do say about haveing a budget and not to indulge in lavish spending but does it say that when someone looses the job insult him chase and abuse him and his family for non-payment? Why does the government allow these banks to operate through recovery agencies which are not a part of the bank (the only reason being banks cant abuse you as per the constitution and they dont care about agencies as these are small business even if they shut down it doesnt matter to the bank) The law should be amended to put in place the bank to run the collection service when asked decently someone who doesnt have money will try and arrange it but when insulted he will resort to other measures. What I have witnessed is the worst and would not like ti to happen to anyone. hence I resolved next time any of the collection agents comes to my place Ill make sure I would take down his address and number so that if I get harrased by him ever I will take preventive measure. Tit for at seems the only way out as the Bank denies these charges and refuses to give any details of the same. After a 9-5 job even the collection agent is just another human andhe can be torutred and insulated the same way.

                  But that does not bring in the solution. The coultion would be to stop issuing credit cards with offers such as Gold card lfe membership free for someone who barely earns 15000 a month and fakes the documents to get it to buy all the luxry he has ever seen on TV as when he defaults the only intention is to cheat it is them who should be as defaulters in CIBIL not the people who even if going through a tough time hold cards since the last 5-10 years though late but have paid and ensured that they pay up the late fee too.

                    i had deposited a cheque of Rs.10000/-, bearing no.-727863, for my card no.- [protected] which was given by citifinancial as a loan, which came to my account on 11/08/08 as shown in statement and got returned on 14/08/08.
                    after consulting with citibank they have issued a letter to citifinancial that the cheque has got cleared on 12/08/08, a copy of that letter is with me.
                    i just want to know the whereabouts of the cheque and the money transfer.

                      Dear Sir,

                      With due respect I state that my name is Vijay Singh, S/O Sh. Ramesh Chand, R/O H-49/A, Jai Prakash Nagar, Street No. 2, Ghonda, Delhi - 110053. I am working as Buyer – HWS(SNM) in Nokia Siemens Networks, Noda UP. I have my corporate Citibank A/C no. – [protected] in Jeevan Bharti Building, Connaught Place, New Delhi Branch. I dropped a cheque of Rs. 20, 000/- of Citibank (Cheque No. – 921762) in the name of my wife Yash Kumari in SBI ATM Dropbox, Rohtash Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi on 28/03/2009. On 21/04/2009 I came to know that Rs. 20, 000/- has been debited from my Citibank A/C on 17/04/2009 against the same cheque (Cheque no. – 921762) but not credited to my wife A/C in SBI to whom cheque was issued. On inquiring with Citibank officials I come to know that Rs. 20, 000/- from my Citibank A/C has been credited to some other A/C in Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) against the same cheque. After further inquiring with Citibank, they provided me a scan copy of the same cheque in which my wife’s name (Yash Kumari) has been cut and replaced with the name of Nirmal Mishra and the amount has been debited to his A/C in Indian Overseas Bank. I am attaching scan copy of the cheque which I received from Citibank along with this application.

                      This is a complete ignorance of Citibank in clearing such kind of cheque: -
                      (1) Since there is complete cutting of name on the cheque issued (Yash Kumari cut to Nirmal Mishra), why Citibank has not confirmed to me/call me before clearing a Name Changed Cheque?
                      (2) The counter signature on name changed is not matching at all with the original signature of the cheque holder.
                      (3) As banks advice to write A/C no & Mobile no. on the backside of the cheque for security reasons. Why it was not checked before clearing the amount. All the details are mentioned on the backside of the cheque.
                      (4) I got wrongful loss Rs. 20, 000/ - and I am in urgent need of money.
                      I request you to please take necessary action on Citibank Manager, Connaught Place, New Delhi Branch and bring my Rs. 20, 000/- back to me.

                        Dear sir/ madam,

                        Since last week, I have been receiving phone calls on my Cell No:[protected] and at my residence land line no:[protected] by some Mr. Satish Sharma from the Phone No:[protected], who calls himself an employee of Citi Bank and talks to me and my parents in a very rude manner and tells bad things.

                        As per him, some dues of approx Rs. 26000/- are pending in my name since 2001. When I tell him to give the details in writing, he plainly refuses and tells me to go the bank and contact them. I have come to Bhopal to attend a function about 3 days back but he harrased me and my family in Ahmedabad so much that my father who is a heart patient, had developed some complications.

                        My only question to him was if such a amount was pending in my name since last 8 years, why was I not told about the same in writing earlier. But he fails to answer the same and keeps on harassing me and telling me to pay the amount

                        Kindly look into the matter and do the needful.

                          Hi,

                          I am the customer of CITIBANK Credit Card.
                          I got a call from Citibank on 17th March, in which they said that they are giving me a new credit card which has more credit limit than previous one. This request was not made by me.

                          They have changed my address and e-mail id with out my notice and had send the new credit card of extended limit on that changed address. And transactions were made on that particular card.
                          Also, after couple of days, I have received a letter from CITIBANK that your address has been changed from 17th March, which was never requested from my end. And now the transaction amount is expected from me for the card which was never delivered to me.
                          I have called Customer care many times for this issue and a CITIBANK investigation officer from Risk Management and Fraud Control unit have come to my house in Pune. He has taken xerox of my id proof (PAN card).

                          No payments were due on my original credit card. This was confirmed by CITIBANK officials only.
                          And now I got a mail from CITIBANK saying that you have to pay all the outstanding amount from the new card which I never recieved.

                          Kindly help me out in this case as CITIBANK is not helping me on this issue and they have put the entire fault on me.

                          My Name is Sachin S Sorte I have a salary account as well as Citibank Credit Card, on 9th Feb I have paid minimum amount of 9658.88 that amount was debited from my saving account, after that my saving account was showing balance of 3744.23 after sometime my account balance suddenly got 0 & today I got an SMS stating as on 11feb balance in your account is 0, you can withdraw upto Rs -5914.65.

                            The account was active up to 31st March 2007 with a balance of Rs.4718.81/- as on April 2007.
                            I left India during that time on my visit to USA. There were no Transactions since April 2007 and I have not drawn any money from the account. I have kept the account without closing as I may need the bank account once i returned to India.

                            Recently in the month of March 2009 when I inquired about my balance I was informed that I have a negative balance of Rs.193.74/-. Citibank informed me they have been charging the service charge of Rs.280.90/- periodically at a regular intervals; thereby, the balance of Rs.4718/- as been brought down to Rs. -193.74/-

                            At no time I was informed by the bank that they will be debiting my account periodical charges of Rs.280.90/- on a monthly basis. The bank claims to have sent an e-mail which I did not receive. I also did not receive any written mail informing me on the same.

                            I am at a loss to understand how any Bank can collect charges from the SB a/c instead of paying interest. If the bankers were not willing to have my account they could have close the account and returned the balance amount instead of debiting the service charges.
                            I do not understand the justification of charging the service charges amounting to Rs.4718/- during the past 20 months.

                            I am an innocent girl having a bank account and now when I need the money for my immediate need, I was informed by the bank that only a sum of Rs. -193.74/- credit balance is available.

                            Kindly look in to the matter and see that justice is done by asking the bank to refund the unjustified service charges of Rs.4534/- collected from me.

                              I would like to lodge a serious complaint regarding the constant harassment being caused by citibank credit card collection centre agents. Due to certain health complications and due to complete lack o[censored]nderstanding of my own office I had defaulted on one credit card payment, later on the payment was made and Inspite of telling them that the amount due has been deposited and the name of the bank whose check has been put in along with the amount, along with a clear order to cancel my card I’m being called again and again on my mobile asking me to inform them which area the check has been deposited.
                              This is rather strange as I fail to understand what difference does it make if the check is dropped in x street or y street, as long as you know the city and bank name it should suffice. I have also informed that the check was deposited by my office as not me hence I do not have this information on me, still the senseless staff at the collection centre is unable to comprehend the situation.
                              As I have already paid interest and that to 3.5% which is bloody lot why am I being chased like this, if this is not stopped immediately I will put a legal notice for harassment.
                              I would urge a responsible person at the bank who might be having some sense of individual personality please go through the recorded conversations of my logged calls. I fail to understand why citibank does not pursue any other mode to follow up on late payments, like e-mail, postal reminder etc… or a combination of all, so that this level of irritation can be avoided. I can guarantee you this was the second time I’m throwing your Citibank card, had done so earlier several years back due to similar problem, but I guess I had forgotten with time but now I can promise I will never ever opt for it again.
                              Thank you very much for all the anger you have unnecessary caused me and thank you for making me cancle the credit card….. you have done great service to your bank and banking ethics…… which are fast becoming history, no wonder all banks like yourself are begging and surviving on public funding.

                              Citibank Credit Card — cheqs return

                              Hi

                              My citi credit card no ending with 1000 I settled citibank last year and i closed hyderabad a/c and i got some of cheqs bounced..one agent came and i cleared some of cheqs by cash.After that i told executive there are one or two cheqs are pending..he told me that he will come back.he never turned back.after that i met an accident i am hospitalized.

                              now they came up with that they dont have cheqs ..they are asking to pay money without returning 2 cheqs..pls suggest me shall i pay with out taking cheqs..

                              Credit Card is not more than a plastic card. The bank has no legal right to tell you to pay illegal interest. You should lodge a police complain against bank and consult with a lawyer.

                              As there is no agreement you are not liable to pay bank.
                              You are correct .All activities of Citi Bank are illegal. They don't obey Indian Contract Act or Indian Constitution .

                              Most mysterious matter of Citi Bank is that they will never sign on their reply when you will send them any legal notice. They will sign as with one letter as V or P or S or T which can't be treated as signature. If they sign in the name of a particular lady they will not give you proper signature, they will scan the signature and paste it on their reply .

                              You can revoke their agreement as there is no witness in their agreement and tell them to return the cheques as they are taking blank cheques with signature which is illegal in the court of law .

                              Citi Bank has lost it's mental courage also and for this reason they are replying to customers with scan signature or one letter signature like S or V, Or P or Z.

                              CITI Card — CITI Card payment harrasment

                              My CITI Card No; [protected]. CITI bank is harrasing me to pay the amount with extra charges. I told them to withdraw charges however one of the collection executive ask me to pay 6200. i gave him my HDFC chequen and ask hime to drop the cheque after informing me as my account was empty.He told me that first he will confirm the amount from me by phone and then drop the cheque.He dropped the cheque without informing me.Now they are sending legal letters and also applying worst trick to make pay the extra charges with my amounts.Where as i have already told them to pay with very shorter EMI.

                              I am using this card from last Three years and belive me their were no late payments or
                              any other problems from my side. but last month by mistakely i paid 100rs less on my minimum
                              payment and i was fined with 500rs.,
                              I tired talking on ur helpline service but their are interseted in talking with me.
                              I know there are your rules and regulation. but i have just broken trust
                              Consistent Harassment By Citibank collection centre for the card which is not mine. They have linked my email id and mobile number to some else card and they are keep sending / calling to pay the amount for the amount which i have not used because that card does not belong to me.
                              I have the exact same complaint. I'm posting this on their Twitter account.
                              Continuous harrassment by city bank card department for the past 8 months changed my phone number atleaset 4 times complained to police still harrassing me everyday although they owe me nothing cannot do my regular work city bank card people 100% hard core criminal ruining my life all people beware...
                              City Bank is appalling and I wouldn't be surprised if they checked their records and found CUSTOMERS have ended their lives because of being harassed.

                                Dear Sir,
                                My father Mr Shahaji l Nigde, I holds a credit card of citibank as an add on card holder.
                                Hr used the card on 23rd Oct 2009 to pay an amount of Rs 20, 086/-. He dropped a cheque for the amount at drop box at Chinchwad on 02 Mar 09. But the amount paid does not reflect in the statement issued by citibank on 14 Apr 09, instead they charged him for not paying on time and also levied a huge fine for it.
                                Plz suggest a solution.

                                  I am using Citi Ready Credit facitility.My limit was 71000/- ..I don't know they suddenly incressed my limit to 141000/- without of my knowldge. Now last month they debit 9000/- Rs from my account and telling that ur account has been locked and every month they are going to debit some amount from my account.on 22 Apri i was diposited 10000/ in my account they debited 7900 Rs from my account and telling that over utilization of amount using..I requested to them on mail pls resolve my problem, Some budy was called from delhi me but she was not discussed with me properly.

                                  I was given a ready credit account for free by CITI Bank. I never used this account and had frequently requested for closure of this account.
                                  CITI Bank is deducting some charges from my Axis Bank account every month through ECS.
                                  I can neither close nor stop this deduction. This is cheating.,

                                    Hi,

                                    I wanted loan for some wedding in the family and had approval from 2 banks i.e. Citibank & Citifinancial.

                                    I opted citifinancial over citibank after analysing certain benefits. I got the cheque from Citi financial however cheque got bounced due to some issue from Citifinancial's end.

                                    since I had already planned and had done some expenses, I had to borrow money from someone and had to face lot of embarrssment. They have committed to give the new cheque once they receive the old cheque, I am loosing time as its just 3 days to go for wedding.

                                    Pls suggest how shall I proceed and claim for loss of my credibility.

                                      i have already cleared all my credit card dues.But a week after i cleared my dues, i recieved the statement showing Rs900 pending.The last ayment i made was Rs25000.If i had any intention of being a defaulter i would have not paid that much of amount.Every time i recieve a ph call from citibank i have to tell them the same story.as of now the pending amount they are showing is 6000 rs. Pls help me, HOw can i sort this out without goiung to consumer forum..
