[Resolved]  Airtel Mumbai — Customer care and service

I have been having an airtel connection since the last 5 years and always thought that airtel was the best. What I did not know was that it is the best only so long as it is working. If there is a problem, dealing with the dumb customer care execs and the gallery is a royal pain.
Last month I lost my phone and lodged a complaint to block the card. It was done in a reasonable time. Now, the problem to get a new card and reactivate. I had to go to Airtel gallery to submit an application. I did this at Ghatkopar and was told that the service would start in 4 hours. The 4 hours became 24 hours and after hanging on to the helpline like for ever, without any result, I had to again go to the gallery. After another assurance, I returned and still no signs of it starting. Once more I trooped to the gallery and this time, I refused to leave till he ensures it starts. So, finally it does, Thank God!
Now, starts the next problem. Since it was being used by my son who is now a major, I wanted to get the billing done in his name. I was asked to give so many details and after all this, was given a reference number. Again the follow up starts and I am assured that it will be done within 7 days, 10 days... All the while, there is not a single call from their side, asking for additional info, papers etc. After a month, no change in the name and on following up now, I understand that the service record has vanished and again I have to start the procedure all over again and submit the required papers. IS THIS SERVICE???

But I think just by complaining on these boards will not help as the airtel people are just calling & saying we will look in to this and then do not respond... Can nobody can make a forum where we can complain and it will be taken to consumer court group by group so that the airtel guys will take our complains seriously..

Just a thought... Even I am bored of airtels snacks & bits looting of money... They just start a service charge you & when u complain they say that they will rrefund but we don't receive any refund we just keep waiting and forget thinking that 10 bucks, 50 bucks is small amount lets forget but 10 bucks from 10 million customers give the company profit of 100 million and we get only frustration...

have taken a new airtel No [protected] not yet activated i have given all the papers required on the jan 22 09 and no sign of the card being activated need urgent help in the same the service levels are really deteorating sorry to say this even after your airtel gallery promises within an hour it will be activated there is no sign of activation.
I recharged my cell last evening from Pune with a top of Rs 100 and i recieved only Rs 1 balance.i could not speak to Customer care as they are saying its Mumbai's number.My number is [protected]..can u please resolve this issue and help me out to get back the balance

Airtel — deduction of balance from phone due to unknown reason

i am having the airtel no [protected]. recently on the 15 th of this month i have had recharged with a rs 80 unlimited sms card since then i have been having the problem that my main balance is being cut each time i send sms from my mobile inspite of having the unlimited sms facility, , , , , i called up customer care and twice the uploaded the amount back to my account... but today 17 th june my balance was again cut total rs 18... and when i called up the customer care one of them first told me that 10000 sms has been exhausted ... so my balance was being cut whereas another person told me that i have sent sms 2 some active services... for which my balance was cut... but i didnt send any service sms, , , , , , , , , , please will u b kind enough to solve my problem... i am totally disgusted with this same problem day after day ... is making me disgusted with airtel services... and i am in fact thinking of quitting it and taking vodafone...

Airtel — reduction of balance due to unknown cause

my no is [protected].............inspite of having unlimited national sms my balance is being cut each time i send sms ... today rs 18 was cut . i am facing this same problem ever since i recharged with rs 80 unlimited sms card. on the 15 th of this month.......... last 2 days i called up ur customer care and the re uploaded the deducted amount back to my account. but today when i called up saying that my rs 18 was cut. they said that i have sent more than 10000 sms from my mobile. which is not possible .. so my balance was being cut. i called up again on this time they replied that my balance was cut as i had sent some service sms to some no... each sms costing rs 3....... but i didnt send any such sms ............. i am really pissed off with this daily problem please i[censored] could help me.........

In N.G.Park bldg no1, shiv vallabh road, rawalpada, dahisar east, mumbai 68.There is aAirtel gallery.Its provides a cell battery which cant survive 1 day also and cost applies of it by the gallary people is 150 rs.I was cheated with this and changes 3-4 times battery but same result and now the gallery people avaoided to provide battery.Pls do the needful.

The same text message came to me after one day of the voice call comes.

My query is that "As i am using this service since last 5 years its going properly and no one

customer care exucutive told me that Your documents are wrong and etc, ...

What type of service is this ...

What Ahmed Khan describes is absolutely right air tel is not giving proper services..am using air tel number past 10 years...and i have not opted for any value added services also an internet connection but air tel deducts services amounts VAS and puts me in minus balance ..this has occurred many times which makes me so embarrassed...what should I do...last option i can do is make a complaint with consumer court if it happens again...AIRTEL HAS THE RIGHT ONLY WHEN THE CUSTOMER OPTS FOR ANY VALUE ADDED SERVICES AND NOT WITHOUT THAT...looting money from people...

Airtel — unknown balance reduction

There has been an unknown balance reduction from my airel no. [protected].
Customer care officials dont know yet anything about this reducion.An extremely delayed action has been promised to be taken,bt its just as usual.Earlier also i had made a lot many complaints due to unwanted balance reuction on my prepaid airtel number,bt no satisfacory consult or action was taken upon it.
The officials are requested to look upon this matter,and DO NOT earn this way from your customers,or else they'll only be the one who will be loosing there customers.
Hi, I am SB Singh. We have 6 connection of airtel in my family. My complains are :

- After repeated complaint for do not disturb I used to get sms and call regularly on my prepaid number [protected].
-, My plan is 1 paise per second but always it deduct one paise more and even two paise more than the actual talk time. If you say that there may be difference of fraction of a second but not two seconds. After repeated complaints to your customer care nothing is being done. It is either to make fool to customer or may be your business policy. Please clarify ?
- Today I just talk to your customer care ex. a lady. Her behaviour and attitude is not correct. She has not solved the problems to the satisfaction of the customer and just disconnected the call.
You are requested to take action against your inefficient lady executive or we will take our action against your co through legal way.

Airtel — Deduction of balance for some unknown SMS

My mobile phone currency is being deducted everyday 3 or 4 rupees by unknown SMS cost. I don know why I am getting deducted and I don know how to stop it. I have not given any authorization to any organization to deduct for any unknown service.

It has been deducted from my prepaid
balance amount at the rate of rs. 1/- per message, you continue
to do so illegally and coercing me to bear the unwarranted charges.

please do stop doing this to my mobile, failing which i am constrained to point out
that i am left with no other option except to approach the appropriate
body.
